LSMW IDOC MATMAS05 Material Master

Hi Experts,
Actually ,Iam using IDOC method in LSMW for Material Master Upload.
For that Iam using the IDOC type MATMAS05 .
So in the input file when Iam not the giving the Material Number IDOC is getting failed
with status 51 and giving the errors that "NO MATERIAL NUMBER
TRANSFERED".
And
if Iam giving a material number in the test file it is again getting failed
giving the error " The material does not exist ".
I am not able to understand what iam missing here.
Other than this Iam passing all the mandatory fields required .
Also in the each segment iam passing the MSGFN = '009'. i.e. to create.
Pls help.

ALE IDOC Transfering Material Master From One Client to Another Client

I am using ALE Idoc transfering material master from one client to another client with MATMAS msgtype the details of Idoc received on receiver side is showing message i.e no Idoc is selected at receiving side after passing partner number in WE02 transaction.
As I am new to ALE/IDOCS , I am transferring material master from one client to another client with in same system on IDES using ALE/Idocs the details of IDOC received on receiver side is showing message i.e no IDOC is selected at receiving side after passing partner number in WE02 transaction and showing current status 51 instead of 53 i.e no details of IDOC is received at receiver side using MATMAS Message-Type. Kindly provide solution.

Hello Naveen,
If the connection is available (test with SM59 + Connection identifier),
after choosing your Connection you can test the connection:
you might find the idocs with the daate when they where sent in SM58:
The message says in this case there was no service, there might also be other errors like "wrong password" and so on.
After solving the error, you can restart sending the idoc from this screen.

Problem with mass IDoc for Material Master

Hi All,
Can anyone suggest a solution to work with mass IDocs for Material master?
We have DEBMDM and CREMDM as mass capable IDocs for Customer and Vendor. How do we get mass Material Master IDocs from R/3 in a single XML file?
Also the standard Material repository supplied with SAP MDM 5.5 SP3 doesn't have any XSD definition for MATMDM. Can anyone throw some light on this problem?

The standard way to do it is to generate a single file containing multiple idocs (And for the sake of performance, I suggest you stick to this technique).
In the case of material master, everything is straight forward. In the case of customer and vendor master, when data flows from R/3 to MDM no idoc conversion needs to be performed by XI.
However, for the case of customer and vendor master, when data flows from MDM to R/3, XI needs to separate the data in CREMDM to CREMAS and ADRMAS in order for R/3 to be able to process the idocs; as well as separate the data in DEBMDM to DEBMAS and ADRMAS.
The good thing is that you do not need to worry about all this mappings and conversions in XI. The only thing you need to do in XI is to import the standard business content for SAP MDM 5.5 into XI.

LSMW-CREATION OF MATERIAL MASTER

Dear Experts,
I tried creating a new material using LSMW, after the recording it recorded some checkboxes(KZSEL_01, KZSEL_03....06, i dont really know how to deal with these check boxes in the maintain source field section, any contribution will be highly appreciated, thanks

zkarnalkar explained it already: he fields which you have mention are the select views which you have selected while creating the material master, like basic data1 basic data2, purchasing etc.
The fields on this selection dynpro are variable, their position depends on the the material type definition if you do MM01 or on already maintained views if you do MM02.
Which means in turn that you have to do an extra recording for any material type.
This is just the first variable screen. MRP views have as well variable fields, based on an entry in one field a different field becomes hidden or mandatory. So you need as well an extra recording for any variant in the MRP views
Recording is the worst import method for a material master, as recording is static and material master is high dynamic.
Use BAPI method, IDOC method or direct input method. They are all delivered by SAP and work well.

Idoc for Material Master Specific to SAP AFS

I have requirement to create & extend the material master from Non-SAP to SAP specific to AFS industry, however can anyone suggest which inbound idoc needs to be configured in details like (Message type, basic type & process code)
Also please suggest how it can be extend at the same time to different plants

LSMW(Direct Input) Material master issues

Hi,
I have few issues on Material master-LSMW(Direct Input-RMDATIND) data upload(creating materials).
1. Can i upload excel sheet for uploading data! What option i have to choose in 'specify files' for this!
2. I am using fields MBRSH, MTART, MAKTX, MEINS, BISMT, MATKL, MAGRV for mapping.
    But when i tried to upload in last step-start direct input program with Lock Mode-'N' it is giving error as
    'Plant data does not exist'. Because this is for 'Basic Data' i though no need to input plant.
3. MATNR field is not needed for creation right as it is auto generated!
4. I have to do seperate object for this project for 'Sales organization data' & Plant Data is there any checks needed for the same!
Can anybody give solutions for the above!

    It is always skipping 1st record in flat file.
    Any check required!
2. Also i want to write a output file(log file) to my presentation/application server with all material no's created & material descriptions. Where can i do the same!
3. Can anybody tell me how to upload using excel sheet.

LSMW - RMDATIND Upload material master

Hi All,
I'm using LSMW direct input method (RMDATIND) to upload material master. However, I'm having issues on uploading material prices (eg: moving average price) where the format uploaded was incorrect.
LSWM Data Source I've declared for VERPR (Moving Average Price) is character with 14 Length size. Values populated in upload file is eg: 132.93.
The value been created in material master is-> 13 293,00.
Can anyone advise on this issues? Is there any wrong to input value or data source declaration? Thanks.

Idoc - Create material master

Hi All,
I'm trying to create material master using idoc basic type /AFS/MATMAS04, message type J3AMAT.
Processing the idoc i get the error "The function module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 and the application object type BUS1001006 which were determined are not valid for this IDoc".
It's true that in table EDIFCT there is not this record. but i would like to use the object type BUS1001. How the object type is determined?

Runtime error in LSMW to create Material Master

Hi all,
I am trying to create Material No. using direct input method in lsmw. The program name is RMDATIND. But while executing the last step i.e Start Direct input program I am getting a runtime error
"A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLMG25" raised the exception
condition "NOT_FOUND".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
program, processing was terminated."
I have checked all the steps of lsmw. Any idea why this specific error is coming?

Are you able to create the material manually with the data. If you have checked the basic data view then i would check to see if base unit of measure is mandatory and if its being passed/mapped properly for the material you are creating.

LSMW to Extend Material Master

Hello Team,
I am trying to extend the Accounting views of some
materials. As you know, those views are beyond the first page of the
window for view selection. So I have to page down to select them.
But the system is not able to record the transaction even though I was
able to save the material at the recording.
However, when I run the batch process, it fails to create those materials
and tells me that I should select at least one view.
I will appreciate any feedback on this topic.

Try saving the "off screen" mateiral views as defaultly selected using MM01 under the user ID that will run the LSMW. Then run the LSMW without selecting the tabs but simply clicking the green check and jumping to the selected (defaulted) tabs. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone
I need to send Material Masterdata whenever data is saved in MM01,MM02 using BTE1250 .
I need to use function module MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATMAS to send idoc.
Can anyone please help me with a basic program/ code for sending Idoc using MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATMAS.
I am new to Idoc and could not understand programs given in SDN.

Classification Segment in IDOC for Material Master

Hi,
Can anyone let me know which IDOC message type will get me the classification segment in that. I am assuming that to be the segment is E10CLFM but i dont know which IDOC message type has it.
which IDOC type will get the batch data Inbound to SAP with all the batch class and batch characteristics to be posted to inventory.

you can create inventory with IDOC
message type MBGMCR
basis type MBGMCR03
alternative with program RM07MMBL
You have to decide if you create batches internally while loading inventory or if you load the batches seperatly and assign just the batch number when doing the movement for initial inventory.
Especially if your batch characteristics cannot be valuated automatically, you have to load them before inventory to get all the characteristic values.

I'm uploading classification for materials by LSMW with a direct input
but at the end of the uploading process I can read the following:

How Can I find a list of all the exceptions ?

CLAP_DDB_UPDATE_CLASSIFICATION is a function module. which is called from the batch input program RCCLBI03 that you have in your LSMW step1.
so you can go to SE37, enter CLAP_DDB_UPDATE_CLASSIFICATION and either read the docu or directly display the FM, therein is a tab for exceptions, just count starting from top

Material Master Upload though LSMW - How to add new custom segments to LSMW

Hi,
I have an existing LSMW to create material master idocs (ZMATMAS) from legacy file. Now I need to add new custom segment under E1MARCM, for example say ZMARC1 which will have 2 new custom fields.
1. I created the segment through WE31 and released it.
2. I created an extension to ZMATMAS using WE30 and released it.
Now Im trying to change the LSMW so that I will have the new segment ZMARC1 under E1MARCM so that I can do the field mappings. But I am not able to get it done. i.e. I dont know what should I do so that I can get the new segment in LSMW.
I tried giving the extension in the first step of LSMW. i.e. Maintain Object Attributes but its not allowing me to give an extension. Do I need to add to the basic type ZMATMAS05 and release it to get it reflected in LSMW.
Please give your suggestions.

U can not add u r 'Z' program in Maintian attributes of LSMW.
But U can create the BAPI and assign Business object, Then u can use u r Business Object in Lsmw.

Material Master data transfer using IDOC

Hi,
I am working on integration scenario with SAp ECC. we are using SAp PI wherein SAP PI is posting data In SAP ECC using standard IDOC for Material master i.e MATMAS05
You might be aware that while material master creation if we pass Plant value then we can activate all Plant related views i.e. Purchasing, sales plant general, MRP views and Accounting etc...
I have a scenario where I want to activate only Sales plant general view...donot want MRP and purchasing views to get activated
I tried passing only Plant and profit center value which required for sales plant general data view and keeping all other fields blank but it doesnot work.
can you suggest a way.

P.s - I am using xml file which will be converted into IDOC by PI.

you must not create all segments in the IDOC if you dont want the views.
e.g. E1MBEWM is used for the accounting data. without this you wont get that view.
