LSO Peformance Metrics
We struggle to identify the best way to 1) Capture Metrics on LSO Usage, 2) LSO Performance, 3) LSO/Course generated errors and 4) Reserve Capacity or expect max capacity.
We get very basic questions such as:
1) How many concurrent users are a) booking/searching courses and b) taking a course.
2) What is the max user capacity before degradation.
3) In breaking down a users response time when taking a course, a) how much time is spent in processing, b) waiting for content to be retrieved from the KM and c) Network time.
The bottom line, training leadership wants to know what is our current utilization and what is our max capacity.
Please share how you are answering these type of questions for your leadership.

Yes we have been able ...to some extend, this is how it works:
1. We have a Link Generator placed as a separate I-view
2. We take the link properties from the portal, right-click > properties and then CTRL-c
3. Paste the link into the link generator and then generate link
4. The link will then be generated based on a HTML-script residing on the server
5. This link can then be used to bring you directly to the booking page (we have not been able to have the detailed navigation column there though)
We use these links for all sorts of communications, intranet etc...

Usage of the learning solution landscape would be captured in the
report as a engine metric. There is no need to set a pricelist and
a user type.
All users logging into the SAP systems irrespective of the modules,
need to be classified under the contractual user types :
ERP Developer - BA
ERP Professional user - AX
ERP Limited Professional user - AY
depending on the activities of the users matching with the usertype
definition.

Can not refresh the metrics in schedular

Hi,
When I refresh the metric using schedular, the metric is not refreshed , nor schedular return any error. But when checked in metrics proparties, the last refresh date is not changed, niether the values are updated.
Whe I try to refresh the metric manual, the values are refresh.
Please help me to troubleshoot the problem of refreshing metric through schedular.

Scheduler is pretty horrid for refreshing metrics.Better of to use the Rules engine and create a rule thats based on a schedule that based on condition (1=1 works well ) then refreshes metircs.troubleshooting is best done with the trace options in setup/parameters.there are a few other ways or seeing what the schedulers up to - but id stick to rules if i were you. -
Campaign Metrics - # Bounces Switched?
Hi -
We have sent out several campaigns and are now reporting on them.
The metrics seem to be mixed up on the subject area.
The campaign was sent out 2/3/2011
The receipent data on the campaign object shows delivery status of 8 hard bounces and 1 soft bounce as of 2/7/2011
The dates are important since the report is 24 hours delayed......
When we run our report using metrics from the Campaign Response History subject area - no formulas, just pulling Metrics."# of Soft Bounces and Metrics."# of Hard Bounces"
the results are SWITCHED. I have tried to change teh aggregation rule from default to sum, just to check. No pivot tables are being used...just straight values.
Does anyone know if this is really a bug or what else might be happening??

Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?
Hi,
as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.

How to change default thresholds for some metrics of all targets.

We have a lot of servers which have to work hard.
So, our OEM very often generates messages like these:
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora90.tsb.kz - CPU Utilization is 99.95%, crossed warning (80) or critical (95) threshold."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - Disk Device c8t60A9800043346C384C344A4A63516D6Ad0(ssd4) is 99.7% busy."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - CPU Load (Run Queue Length averaged over 5 minutes) is 20.78, crossed warning (10) or critical (20) threshold."
I need to change default tresholds for mentioned metrics but I can't their defenition in SYSMAN.MGMT_*-tables or suitable settings in OEM GUI.
And I have no time to edit treshholds manually for each target. )Modification of Metric Thresholds (as this is what you are referring to), should be done using the Metrics and Policy Settings link (to be found in the Target Home page).
Don't mess around with the SYSMAN tables!
Best thing to do here is to start using Monitoring Templates for this.

if you want to differentiate the Lifnr then you need to first
sort your itab on lifnr and werks
then
you can loop at itab and using control break statements
either you can display or it transfer it in to another internal table
i.e that means
your new internal table will look as
lifnr plant Material
1100 1000 101-200
101-300
1122 1000 301-324
302-234
or
you can find out Material which is with multiple vendors
in the same way as above
You can always display them in ALV List
The ALV function can display them appropriately if you want to display
or
if you want to transfer it for processing then you have to use
control break statements

I need to create a custom report using different instance and server metrics like:
File System Space Available
Tablesapaces
Database Spaces usage
Sort in Memory
library Cache Hit
Data Dictionary Hit
Buffer Cache Hit
I already made the report, but I can´t change the size of the graphic (for a better presentation on my report)....
Do you know how can I change the size of the report?
I think that I´m using a "metric" so for that reason I Can´t change the size ... :(I am currently having a problem with this report and drilldown to KSB1, the cost centers selected int S_ALR_87013611 are not transferring to KSB1 and thus all the cost centers come up in the call to KSB1, are you experiencing this problem? I am on V4.7

Need help in creating a metric Days Late
Due Date and Pay Date are seperate dimensions with their respective ID's in the Fact_Details. Now i need to create a metric Days_Late=(Due_Date - Pay_Date).
My question is whether i have to create this metric using the Logical Table Source editor in the Data Type Tab or by using 'Use existing logical coumns as the source' in the general tab.
If i use the editor in the general tab then i can directly use the two dates from the dimensions. If i use the logical table source editor in the data type tab then i have to use the date Id's which are in the number format with dates concatenated with the company number id's.
Can anyone suggest me what to do. I would appreciate any help.

LSO - Follow-Up Course Participation
Dear All,
When following up a course in SAP LSO, I marked the course participation as 'absent' for ppl who did not turn up for the course. What happens in the system is that a cancellation will be triggered, thus this person will not be reflected in any attendees/participation report. What I need is actually is a report where I can see participants who are absent and present. But, when system cancels the participation, it creates a 040 relationship in table HRP1001, thus there is no way for me to differentiate between someone who cancels before the training, and someone who were absent during the training. Has anyone run into this problem before? Pls advise. Thanks.PeckHan
You may need to differentiate between these 2 scenarios
A: Attendee Cancels Course Attendance Before Occurence of Course
In this case, user will need to withdraw the attendee from the course before user can perform "follow up" of the course. This is where a cancellation reason can be specified.
B: Attendee Did Not Show Up During Course
In this case, when user select the course to perform "Follow up" from the dynamic course menu, user should be presented with a screen that shall list all course attendees assigned to the course run.
User may mark that the attendee had not show up for the course at this stage. See screen shot (https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/download/attachments/26779/CourseFollowUp-LSO.jpg)
You may want to ensure that the following config point (IMG>Training & Events Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training Management>Recurring Activities>

LSO Portal - Course Follow-up Warning Message in Portal
Hi Gurus
When i try to do the course follow-up in portal , i get a warning message after i complete the attendance & course assessment of the participants and when roadmap status is at completed , i get a warning message on top of the roadmap that "Your Course Follow-Up could not be saved". This happens in the LSO portal from administrators role.
We have setup the right control options at course type level.
Please help with your inputs.

I have checked the master data and found that everything is fine.
When i try to follow up from R/3 , i get a error message in the last step of follow up activity as "Error While data was intserted in the database".
Strangely this happens for the course which got over on 12-Aug-10 , but the same course which was on 13-Aug-10 , we were able to follow up the course from the portal without any errors.
I have checked the relationships , schedules, correspondence infotype etc , all the data items are maintained identical and all the participants are active in the system.
Am i missing something here.

Click Thru Destination from Third Part Website Metrics
Hi,
I was interested if anyone has successfully seen metrics for click thru destinations using web advertisements. I can create the campaign schedule (Internet Advertisement) and create the content and get the tracking URL. However, after clicking on the link (tracking url) and viewing the Report in the Campaign Workbench for the campaign schedule nothing appears. I am not sure if this is a bug or not. I am running 11.5.10.2 (haven't applied any marketing patches).

Good questions! A few of my friends recently changed carriers too, so I can imagine how anxious you must feel to find answers.
When changing from one carrier to another, consumers have the option of keeping their existing telephone number. Trying to consolidate multiple custom date metrics in a simple summary view
I'm working with leads and campaigns and trying to provide analysis of the inflow, processing and output of the leads associated with a campaign. (There is some out of the box analysis do this, but it's not what I'm looking for). The intent is to measure key process steps and their associated dates and bucket these events into the fiscal month they occur. For instance: Lead.Create Date, Lead.Accepted Date, Lead.Converted Date and Opportunity.Close Date.
(I use case statements to identify the fiscal month in which the date occurred when it's not available for use).
So, the base data display is something like this:
Lead ID | Create Month | Accepted Month | Converted Month | Oppty Close Month
12345 | 01 | 02 | 03 | 03
12346 | 01 | 01 | 01 | 02
12347 | 02 | 02 | |
With the objective being to create a display along the lines of this:
Lead Metrics | M01 | M02 | M03 | ...
Created | 2 | 1 | 0 |
Accepted | 1 | 2 | 0 |
Converted | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Oppty Closed | 0 | 0 | 1 |
I can create the base data, but am struggling to present it in a clean single table format as outlined above.
Any suggestion on how to do this or perhaps an alternative approach?

The only thing I don't like is I have a null month at the end of pivots 2-4 with a zero value. I added the filter on the # metrics to try and suppress the zero but it didn't work. Any suggestions for that, please me know.

BUG: iTunes Reporting Section Doubling Download Metrics
I've found what seems to be a bug on the reporting section of the iTunes U metrics and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
I have attached a video to demonstrate what is happening, but essentially if I start counting metrics from Jan 2012, which is when Apple switched over to their new reporting system, the system doubles our number of downloads (among other things). If we start counting from Feb 2012 through the present, the metrics seem to be consistent with what Apple shows me on the front summary page.

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Just for grins I tried the sequence again on a different Mac (MacBook Air, 10.8.2) with the same results...no change in the numbers.
Just as an experiment, have you tried resetting Safari? It might be worth a try. All the best...

Maybe this forum is the wrong place to ask something about Windows 10 Preview, but I did not find a dedicated place to report
programming problems as opposed to user problems:
I program/maintain a 32-bit desktop (WIN32 API) application and try it now on Windows 10 Preview build 10041. I calculate the size of a window border with the help of the GetSystemMetrics function, using the constants SM_CXSIZEFRAME and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER.
Originally, I only used SM_CXSIZEFRAME. This returned 4 pixels instead of the expected 8 pixels that I got on all previous windows versions up to Windows 8.1. Then I learned that already since Windows Vista one is expected to add the value of SM_CXPADDEDBORDER
to get the full border size. (SM_CXSIZEFRAME alone only continued to work on Vista and beyond thanks to a little compatibility hack by Microsoft, with SM_CXSIZEFRAME still returning the full border size and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER returning
yet 0, at least for 32-bit programs like mine.)
Assuming that Microsoft finally switched off that compatibility measure on Windows 10 I query and add SM_CXPADDEDBORDER now as well. Unfortunately this does not solve my problem, as that system metric returns 0.
Just to be on the sure side, I declared my program to support Windows 10 by using an embedded manifest and using the corresponding <compatibility> / <supportedOS> line with the Windows 10 GUID - this did not help either.
As querying and adding those two system metric values is rather trivial (no need to include code in this question, I think), I don't have the slightest idea what

Microsoft won't fix it... we reported an error of the Windows Error Reporting system (exists since Windows 8) and provided a reproduction (an application with one printed page of code,
so very small and easy). It has never been fixed. 3 developers at Microsoft are involved and they confirmed, that it's a bug ... but... no chance. It's a strange company... I don't know what they mean with "we listen to our customers".
