Lumia 620- no sound, no ringtone

i just bought lumia 620...but i am facing problems
i cant hear sound when i play some music.....but i can hear it from earphones....but without earphones its nothing...and the other one is RINGTONE SETTINGS......i checked some sites saying CUSTOM option in ringtone=sound setting...but in my lumia 620 there is no CUSTOM option...that means i cant set any other song or music as my ringtone...and when people are calling......i cannot hear ringtone......volume is fulll....even when i play them from ringtone=sound setting.....there is no sound...i tap on play sign on any ringtone...and nothing happend......
please help me..sorry for my english

"custom" will only appear if you have an audio file available for it. try this :
1. pick an MP3 from your computer
2. change the MP3 file's properties > genre > "ringtone"
3. connect your usb cord to computer n fone
4. look for the folder 'ringtones'
5. copy that MP3 there
6. give it a minute or two
7. on your fone, goto settings > ringtone+sound > ringtone
notice the "custom" option will already be available at the very top. please note you CANNOT set a custom tone for 'message alert' :/

Lumia 620 video sound

Hey, i noticed an annoying issue/problem whatever it is. So, after 8.1 update, everything ok, except the phone is strugeling in main screen etc. Example shut down a program so the phone goes to the main screen and the tiles update's slowly or are invisible and appears slowly. But the actual issue yeah, when watching a video and if i rew it backward or forward and it loads the video for a moment, then when the video continues a loud popping sound comes from speaker. There wasn't this before, annoying i would say... Sry possible bad English.

Hello, JP083.You're referring to the Lumia Cyan SW when you say '8.1 update', is that right? Does it happen to all videos that you're playing? After the update, have you also tried checking if the system apps are up-to-date?
Try scanning the QR codes shown at this link to verify: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates. After this, try playing the same video and see if the same issue will happen. Try closing apps as well to verify if this step also helped resolved your first concern about shutting down programs.

Very quiet sound in my Lumia 620

I have a problem with a speaker to talk in my Lumia 620. I have installed Windows Phone 8.1. When I bought this phone sound from this speaker was loud but now after few mounths it is very quiet. My volume is set for max. What to do with it?

With WP8.1 there are separate volume controls for different functions .. Hope you are setting them correctly ..

I bought a Lumia 620 yesterday and I cannot find a way of hearing the ringtones so that I can choose my preference.
Searching on 'ringtones' and 'preview' hasn't brought anything up and neither has a good read of the User Guide.
Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Lumia 620 buttons failure

First of all,
I am **bleep** right now!
My phone (lumia 620) is only 6-7 months old and I am getting sick of it.
After a month the problems started. He crashed sometimes without a reason, the screen did weard things, etc
And now I had it. My lower volume button is broken. My sound is now standing on 10/30, I use this phone as alarm and thats pretty load. I also use it as a mp3 but I cang lower the volume. I already checked if there wasnt just some dust between the buttons by opening the case, but it didn't helped at all!
7 months!!
I see a lot of users have the same problem and the only thing you guys say to us is: "Go to the nearest nokia repair center."
Maybe something is going wrong in the production process?!
My phone only fell once 2 months ago, the only thing he had was some scratches on the case, but it worked fine until now. So dont say its my own fault.
I am really angry and I think I won't gonna buy another lumia.
A friend of my bought also a lumia and after 2 months his start button was jammed!
You guys better fix this problem fast!

We're sorry to hear this. However, the best option to get the phone fixed is what you have mentioned in your post and that is to bring the phone to the Care Center for assessment.

Lumia 620 screen problem.

I have been having this odd problem where the screen doesn't come on when I press the unlock button. At first I thought the phone had hung but after further investigation, I found that it was just the screen that wasn't coming on.
It would still ring when called(can't answer because touchscreen not activated), pressing the camera button would start the camera. I could see the af light coming on when I pressed the camera button but the screen would remain dark. I've been using soft reset to restart the phone.
This has happened 3-4 times in the last month and usually when there's an incoming notification from skype and I tap it to unlock the phone just as the screen goes dark. I'm also using battery widget on the lockscreen but have no idea if that affects anything.
It seems it might be a software problem but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it is a hardware problem that needs to be fixed. Thanks!

i am now pretty sure that it is a software issue. let me just tell you about a few scenarios where the screen is really quite slow to turn on.
sometimes i have my phone plugged in to a sound system and i use it as an mp3 player. quite regularly i have to wait up to 5 seconds till the screen turns on after pressing the button. sometimes i even have to press it another time. the weird thing is that if i unplug the 3,5mm plug while i wait for the screen turn on, it instantly comes on.strange...
most times the screen is slow to wake up after the phone hasn't been used for longer than 5 minutes. aftyerb having it turned on once, all successive clicks straight after the first one will activate the phone instantly. as if it was a bit sleepy after longer disuse.
i still havn't found any other coreelations between settings and the screen effect. maybe it's got something to do with flight mode, which i have turned on most of the time.
and maybe the upcoming lumia 620 firmware update will solve this problem anyway. who knows when that will actually be delivered though.

Lumia 620/920 with Nissan Navara integrated Hands ...

My wife's Lumia 620 is causing a real problem with the (integrated) hands free in her Navara and I suspect my 920 will be the same (haven't checked yet) as they both support HFP 1.5. Specifically dreadfull transmission sound quality, the sound was never great with previous phones, but was at least acceptable. My suspicion is that the Nissan stereo uses an older profile and the phones don't support it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution (other than fitting an aftermarket hands free kit (PITA))?

Lumia 620 loudspeaker hissing

My brand new Lumia 620's loudspeaker produces a hissing sound whenever an audio clip is played. This can be noticed at the end of the screen lock sound as well as in the background of every single music track
The hiss's intensity does not change when I change the phone's volume, it always remains the same.
What's wrong with the phone?

Is this happening to all of the songs? Did something happen to the phone before this issue started? Try to remove the back cover and the battery and the put them back on. See if it will improve.

Lumia 620 - HERE Maps refusing to install

So, my Lumia 620 came without HERE Maps (But it has HERE Drive+ and City Lens) so I decide to download it, it finishes downloading and it stops and tells me to open the download page and look at it, and it says that it could not be installed, showing the error 8103010d . I tried restarting the phone, and updating it (when the Lumia Black update came out) but it's still the same. Is there any other way, except resetting?

Sound like a reset is needed. You can also try to use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to recover your phone if you have software or software update problems. If your phone is not responding, it appears to be stuck or is not starting you can try to recover it at home before initiating a repair.

Lumia 620 speaker volume pulsing

I've noticed on my 620 that the volume pulses up and down when playing audio through the speaker on the phone. It's more evident when the volume level is low (between 1 - 5). It sounds like when a compressor is acting on the signal with a slow release.
I did see someone mention this on another forum so it might not just be my phone.

Hi everybody!! I'm a new user of this fantastic nokia phone, and yes, my lumia 620 have the same issue that many of you mentioned: listening any kind of song, expecially in part where the dinamic of the song is low, i can hear that "compressor effect". I do also hear a "pffffffffffffffff" sound that is ever present under the song
I've updated all of the application possible, did try the soft reset and the hard reset but the problem still remain.
..please, mr. and mss. nokia support team, could you please seriousely check if it's a software or a hardware issue?!
I think it's in nokia's interest solving this issue as fast as possible, or they will see thousand and thousand of fantastic lumia 620 "coming back home" for a problem that maybe could be solved with a software update!

Hello, Vaibhav_16390. Have you already tried the suggestion given by eshiejamz? BTW, are you also using a Lumia 620? You may also try deleting the browser's history. Go to Settings > applications tab > Internet Explorer > delete history. Once done, press and hold both the volume down and the power keys for 10-15 seconds.

I have submitted my phon at nokia care for this issue that some time my lumia 620 is not responding at the time of call reciveing.They gave me after software upgradation.But is not solved then I contacted with customer care.They tolled me to submit the phon again.I have also submitted .Today from cre they called me and tolled that my phon is under observation.If they find the problem then they will send it to higher authority.But my problem not happen frequently.It happen mostly at the first call.The slide function does not work.Some time the answer button remains gray colour and does not function.Now I am sure that tommorow they will give me the phon saying there is no problem.Now friend please tell me how can i show my problem.its 2 nd time to submit .its a big fault to buy lumia620

Problem in updating my Lumia 620 to black

Black update is available in my country for Lumia 620. But my phone is not getting black update. Whenever I check for update it says your phone is up to date.

@rdg4444 your phone is a Malaysia variant and after checking Availability in Asia Pacific, I can see that the 620 black update is not in distribution yet for Malaysia variant. The "Coming Soon" in availability page means that it's approved and will be in distribution in a few days.

Problem with the Update Nokia Lumia 620

The update was initialized on my Nokia Lumia 620 that I bought yesterday. When it started the phone was connected to WiFi. However, after 10 minutes I thought it stuck so I put the battery out and in again. But the update started again. The WiFi was still on. I waited an hour but nothing happened so again I put the battery out and in. Later the WiFi connection was shut down and the update still going. Later I tried to put the battery out and in all over again. I left the phone for the night, it lost all the battery so I plugged the charger in it and then the update started again! I have the 3G internet purchased, so when it's not on WiFi then it should be working. So my question is if the update is really going on (since 4am, that is almost 4 hours till now) or is something wrong. How long can it take on 3G in the situation I described? Will it ever end or should I go and return it to the service for them to fix it? Please help me! It's really urgent!

Update is possible thru' WiFi only.. It may take in excess of an hour for the whole update process to complete ..so once you start it (thru' WiFi) just leave it .. Don't go on removing the battery all the time ...Keep the phone on charging when you update. Additionally you may have settings-->WiFi--advanced ..and select 'Keep WiFi on when screen times out..' .
If you still get the problem visit Nokia Care to get it updated.
