Lync does not recognize audio device.

I have a Dell E6540 and Lync (office365) gives a message that it does not recognize an audio device.
things I have tried
1) update Bios
2) update all drivers using Dell command update and Dell drivers update page
3) delete drivers so that it has to reload them
4) check microphone settings under sound
5) make sure power management is not turning the audio device off
6) plug in external head set (I would prefer if the factory installed microphone worked instead)

Please check if there’s a
WiDi USB Intel Wireless card is installed.
If this is the case, open Device Manager then disable the
Intel UoIP Bus and Host Controller.

    Disabled
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store        
    If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

    I just had a similar problem and tried all of the reboot techniques with no success. I knew it had to be a connection issue inside the iPod, and grasping at straws, I sprayed a little WD-40. I dried it off and let it sit overnight. Today at lunch I plugged it in to my wall charger and it began charging.
    ***FYI I know they don't recommend spraying WD-40 on your iPod, but it was a last resort for me. I was at the point of paying to send it in for repairs or throwing it away. I wouldn't try this unless you are ready to throw yours away too.

    - Try on another computer

    Nope. iPads can only be synced with one iTunes library, and all content on the iPad would be erased if you tried to sync it with a different one.

    Thank you, I tried uninstalling the device driver to reinstall again. After doing the scan for hardware changes, nothing flashes on the device manager. I dont see anything related to the IPAD or any other device for which driver shows unidentified device. It is as though the device is not being seen by the computer at all..
    I even tried flashing the home/sleep buttons together but that doesnt seem to identify any device either.
    Anything else I am missing?

    My problem is that when I plug my phone into my desktop computer by USB it will charge, but when I go to do anything to by means of BlackBerry Desktop Software the program does not recognize that my device is plugged in.
