Lync mobile app reporting

Hi,
With Exchange it's possible to gather stats on devices that connect using EAS (ActiveSync).  Is it possible to do a similar thing with Lync 2013?  I'd like to be able to report on devices connecting using the Lync mobile app.  We have 1 x
standard pool server & 1 x edge server.
I suppose one way might be to use Log Parser Studio against the IIS logs?
Thanks,
Graham

Lync mobile app will not launch after upgrade to lollipop on HTC One (M8). Is this a known issue or is a fix available?

    Hi THGutz,
Did you install the latest version of Lync for Android ?
The current version of Lync for Android is
    5.5.3.8935.
I don’t test it on M8, but on other Android 5.0 devices it works fine.
    Best regards,

  • ExternalUrl for EWS for Lync Mobile App w/ Exchange 2010

Greetings- I have a Standard deployment: 1 FE, 1 Edge, 1 Reverse Proxy. Mobile App users can log in, but cannot access contacts/calendar info from Exchange Server. Checking Configuration Information on Lync Desktop client shows "EWS Not Deployed".
I've been piecing together articles on "how-to" but they are for Exchange 2013.
One article says that part of the process is to run the script Configure-EnterprisePartnerApplication.ps1. This is not present on my Exchange server.
Another step is to configure the external WebServicesVirtualDirectory using the cmdlet
    Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity Contoso\EWS -ExternalUrl https://www.contoso.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
When I do this, I get an error "The operation could not be performed because object '[mailserver].local\EWS' could not be found on 'DNS_Server.local'
    Hmmm....

Correct, I would imagine ExternalURL would only be external. If you didn't have EWS published you would be only leveraging the internal URL.
The other thing is if your DNS auto-configure is configured for your email system LYNC should be leveraging the DNS records to connect. So, if you have outlook essentially doing outlook-anywhere today with auto finding its settings via e-mail lookup those
    things should work.
If you had DNS configured to go off DNS SRV records you would only have to do this.
    Note:
The AutodiscoverVirtualDirectoy URL are supposed for Microsoft's optional use only.
Therefore it is not necessary and not Best-Practise defining them!
If you set the URL's, it will NOT HAVE AN IMPACT. Meaning, if they are defined or not, it will not change the Autodiscover behavior, since they are NOT USED within Exchange.
What is IMPORTANT, is the Authentication, you must set it the Basic Authentication, so the SSL configuration will take part.
It would be enough is you configure simply:
Set-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -Identity 'autodiscover (default Web site)' -BasicAuthentication $true
I can agree with autodiscover rules making the EWS be found. That has worked for me in my previous environments.

  • Lync Mobile App not working without WIFI

    HI,
we have Lync 2013 deployed and everything works fine. We can do Voice Calls, Video Calls etc.
But when we switch off the WIFI and only 3G or 4G is enabled, we can call persons, but after we accept the call, it gets terminated and we can't hear each other.
    any idea?
EDIT: We get the error "Could not establish a connection"

    Hi repa1982,
Since A/V is now supported over 3G/4G, or Wi-Fi the Edge Server plays a larger role in mobility deployments.  In the diagram below, you can see that the mobile client will still send signaling information via the Reverse Proxy, but it will now send media
via the A/V Edge interface on the Edge Server:

  • Lync 2013 not syncing conversations with mobile apps

Straight to the point, is there any way to sync conversations started on the pc client with the lync mobile app (iOS, Android..)? I've been doing some research and found that this was to be done on the updated version of the mobile app, but at the moment
we haven't been able to do so.
From what we've experienced, if we are connected on the two devices at the same time (PC and mobile), Lync will take the PC as the default and messages will be delivered to the pc client without any notice to the mobile app even though it's connected too.
So, if I get out of my desk and take the phone with me so that people could reach me through Lync, I'll have to sign off from the pc client so that the messages can be directed to my phone app.
Is there a way for changing this or this is the way it works for now? This happens not only for iPhone but for Android devices too.
    Please let me know. Thanks!

Lync Server send IM to the currently most active endpoint.
If the server is unable to determine which state is most active, it sends the message to the endpoint it determines most likely active and waits to see whether the user acknowledges the toast at any location. If the user opens the toast
at an endpoint, the server removes the message from the other endpoints. If an endpoint doesn’t acknowledge the message, the server leaves the message at only one location, the most likely endpoint.

using my android galaxy s5 client on wifi on the same lan i get a screen with waiting to sign in spinning and an error at the top "we cant connect to the server check your network connection and server address, and try again."

thank you in advance for any help. im trying to get internal working before i try external.

    Eric,
I am trying to configure a reverseproxy on my netscaler which is in a 2 arm mode(dmz/internal) but I keep getting an error when configuring the monitor.
i used this guide to configure it
    http://www.lynced.com.au/2014/04/configure-citrix-netscaler-vpx-as.html
but continue to get this error in the netscaler monitor "Failure - TCP connection successful, but application timed out"
so the virtual server is never up, thinking about just changing it to tcp as a monitor so it stays up and i can at lesat get the vip up.
Also your link to the diagram shows it going to the reverse  proxy but the one im using has it going directly to the front end servers.
    http://www.lync-solutions.com/Documents/Lync_2013_protocol_poster_v6_7.pdf
I'm guessing Microsoft's is the correct one but wonder why the config differential?
I see that your diagram says "mobility url", what is the mobility url? i though that was the lyncdiscoverinternal.internal.com
    current setup is
    2 fe servers on internal
    1 edge server on dmz
1 almost done reverse proxy netscaler load balancer.
also this ms link i used to configure dns entries, along with the pdf linked above.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj945644.aspx
i currently have these external dns entries and they all point to the edge server on the dmz.
    dialin .external.com
    lync .external.com
    lyncweb .external.com
    lyncdiscover.external.com
    meet .external.com
    sip .external.com
    webconf .external.com
    av .external.com
    _autodiscover._tcp.external.com.
the internal dns links point to 1 of the front end servers
    1. lyncdiscoverinternal.internal.com
    2. lyncdiscover.internal.com
    3. _sipinternaltls._tcp.internal.com
    4. _sipinternal._tcp.internal.com
    5. sipinternal.internal.com

  • Problems with changings within Design Studio Report published on BI Mobile App

    Hello BI Mobile Experts,
At the moment we are setting up a prototyp for BI Mobile reporting with SAP Business Objects Mobile and the BI Mobile App.
We created a report with Design Studio and published this report without problems within the Mobile Category. This Report was displayed correctly on iPads we are working with.
This week we made some changings within the report (new Crosstab, changings within css file). Unfortunatelly this changings were not displayed within the Mobile App. When we run the report local on the desktop within Design Studio everything works fine and is displayed correctly. It seems like the iPad is caching the report and doesn't get the new definitions, because after uninstalling the complete app from the iPad and installing it again, the report is displayed correctly.
Does anybody of you have same issues and is knowing how to solve that?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Gerardo

    Hi Emre
I recall when I installed DS on our BI 4.1 SP2 system, the Analysis Application Service is not added to the Adaptive Processing Server (APS) automatically, I had to manually include the service into the APS for it to work correctly.
To make the dashboards visible to the BI Mobile applications, you must assign the category "Mobile" to the dashboards.

  • Parameters in Crystal Reports on SAP B1 Mobile App

    Hi there everyone.
I have succesfully installed the SAP B1 Mobile application en connected to our server. After setting some Crystal reports visible for mobile I came to the conclusion that simple reports are displayed correct in the mobile app, but when a parameter is set, the report will not show. Anyone have experience with this?
    Kind regards,

  • OBIEE reports in Mobile App Designer View

    Hi All,
Is there any possibility to view the existing OBIEE reports in Mobile App designer page and edit the same?
Since more reports have been created already,we wanted to view and edit in MAD to make it available for Mobile users.
    Thanks
    PM

    Hi Rayno,
Did you try to use a different browser and are you at the latest patch of BIMAD?
Mainly if you are on IE I guess the patches fix compatibility with the various version of IE most of the time (Firefox and Chrome are better for that).
I also remember your other issue having the dashboard to display only when all the analysis are loaded, so maybe you have something in your setup (network, proxy, browser version, corporate rules etc.) impacting the user experience of BIMAD (but not only) in such a negative way.
I didn't spend weeks on it but never got BI Server crash because of BIMAD and random java errors (are we really talking about java or javascript?).

  • Can't receive calls on Lync 2013 mobile app on iPad Air while signed into Lync 2013 Basic desktop client.

Is there a setting I can change on mobile app or desktop app that will allow this to work?
I like to stay signed into the desktop client so I can manage my contacts as well as chat with co-workers, but I don't have a camera or microphone so I need to answer calls on my iPad.

Normally, both client on Ipad and computer can receive the call.
Can you test it on your mobile phone?
I tested on my Android mobile phone and computer, I could receive the video call on both.
Please try to update your Lync client to the latest version.

  • SAP BusinessObject Mobile WebI Report Prompt Issue

    Hi,
I have problem to view the Prompt value in Long Text for WebI report in my iPad. The SAP BusinessObject Mobile application is on version 5.1.12.
We are using BI Platform 4.1, and the WebI report is connected to Bex Query using BICS connection.
Below are the settings that I had done:
    Setting of Characteristic in BW:
Setting of Characteristic – ZBPARTNER in BEx Query Designer:
Below are the report Prompt result in BI LaunchPad and BI Mobile:
    Example data:
Business Partner ID 123 has description in Long Text (DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S) and Short Text (DO NOT USE - KOC).
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in WebI is showing Long Text as expected.
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S".
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in Mobile Apps is showing Short Text:
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC".
I need the Prompt value is the BusinessObject Mobile to be display with Long Text, but I cannot find any configuration to achieve this.
Is anyone encounter similar issue and can provide me some suggestion?
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Edison Wang

    Hi,

  • Include Air ( desktop app ) inside Mobile app permited by Apple / Android?

Include Air ( desktop app ) inside Mobile app permited by apple / android?
    This is my question....:
I need a "viewer" app run in a desktop machine... via p2p... ( done and working )
I will like to include it in my iOS / Android Release, an then by example move it to the documents folder.
Run iTunes and then copy the file from the shared document folder.
Is this permited by apple / android / adobe ?
    Thanks....

just tracing some kind of tests I'm doing.
A couple of hours ago I left working 2 instances of my Application, leaving alone this computer: one instance is the Mac desktop version and the other one is the Web version. In this case both versions were running on the same computer (an iMac with OS X Mavericks):
    1) the AIR/Mac version have been recompiled yesterday with the new AIR4(.0.0.1619 - AIR 3.8 is used to fall in a equivalent way - no changes)
    2) the Web version have been compiled targeting FP 11.8 and it is running on Chrome browser with PepperFlash NOT disabled (which reports version MAC 13.0.0.80, the latest)
I left working both the Mac and the Web versions of the Application opened on the pc screen (= not minimized) but kept totally behind some Terminal/ssh windows (= not on OS focus and the system is not asked to update any screen area of the app for sure).
I came back after about 2 hours and I got the browser version connected&running (but it is not a rule) and I also found the AIR-based Mac version disconnected (uau, usually I found the app disconnected but with the screen freezed at last user look ->) which rapidly reconnects upon my click on the Apple dock icon (bring to front).
Why these different behaviours? I ask to myself.
The two versions of the software are TOTALLY the SAME application: except for the first Flash file (a 24kb swf file for the Web version and a 170kb dmg file for the Mac version), basically a platform-dependent loader, both versions loads the same remote swf modules. Of course t is AIR (or my first Flash file?).
I attach the source code of the Mac version of the [first file] AIR-based application at the following url:
    http://92.63.230.100/others/others/wtstarter_mac.as.txt
_Adobe_, is it a bug? isn't it?

  • OBI Mobile App Designer raises Internal Server Error

    Hi,
we are running OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 on a 64-bit environment including OBI Mobile App Designer. We have the problem that two components (mapviewer and bisearch) are not starting automatically, which might cause the problem that we get a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to open the Mobile App Designer.
Before this problem occured we were running the OBIEE sample RPD that comes with the OBIEE installation. At this point in time there was only one component not starting up (bisearch component). Accessing the OBI Mobile App Designer was not a problem at all. After some time we decided to change the RPD in order to have more meaningful data available. Since we changed the RPD we face major issues with this environment.
I tried to start the mapviewer and bisearch components manually in the Enterprise Manager. This worked only for the mapviewer. Before we changed the RPD all the components except bisearch were starting as expected. At this time accessing OBI Mobile App Designer was also not a problem.
A few days ago we were even not able to login to analytics, which told us that user or password must be wrong. I then tried to refresh GUIDs because of the new RPD that has been deployed recently. This resulted in a failure of BI server start after trying to refresh GUIDs with the respective settings in instanceconfig.xml and NQSconfig.ini. After resetting the configuration to the initial state we were able to start the components including BI server. What still remains is the issue with bisearch component and the problem related to OBI Mobile App Designer as mentioned before.
We observed that the log file of the managed server contains some error messages that do at least relate to the bisearch component. We did not find any helpful information to tackle this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve these issues in order to be able to access OBI Mobile Designer again? Due to the fact that OBI Mobile App Designer uses BI Publisher there might be a problem with that.
I added the log file of the managed server.
Appreciate your help! Thanks in advance.
    Tobias
