M60 Shutdown without user action

Hello,
i use a Satellite M60 Notebook with Win XP and i bought this notebook on 11/15/2005.
I use an actuell anti-virus software and some anti-sypware tools.
But from the first use of the notebook it shutdown without user action.
I can't solve the problem because the settings for the notebook are "Desktop" and "Never Shutdown" for the harddisk and monitor in the energyoptions.
"Standby" is set on "never" too.
I thought, that the Toshiba tools are the problem and so i uninstall them, but this didn't solve the problem.
Who have had the same problem and solved it?

Well, one of the reasons why the notebook shuts down without any user action is a overheating issue. If the temperature goes to a critical limit inside of notebook so the OS shuts down the unit and protect it.
Well, its not easy to say why it happens. Maybe the cooling modules dont work properly.
I see that your notebook is under warranty and all replacements and repair procedures will be done for free. In this case I propose to contact the ASP (Toshiba service partner). He can make some diagnostic test and replace some parts if its necessary.
But first of all I would recommend to recover the unit with the Recovery CD for testing if its a software or hardware issue.

Hi All,
I followed below blog and achieved publishing/Broadcasting messages to logged in users. Everything is working fine. My issue is, user must have to do some action in portal, then only the display popup (notification) will be displayed (poped up). I want this popup/message will be shown to the user even he/she is idle ( i mean without any action of end user in portal).

Above blog works only when user do some action in portal. I want this message to be displayed without any user action.
Is there any API / Service I can use????

I want to show a message like SM02 transaction in ECC. some notification service... like notifiying logged in users about system down time or software upgrades or some thing else.
I have already built the application and it is working fine.
As I kept the iview in content area of framework page, it will only refreshed/activated when some action happen in content area of framework page. so, I need some advice on.... even user is idle, this iview should be refreshed and show the pop up.
Issue here is: there are two iViews 1. Publish Notification and 2. Display Notification.
Publish notification iView is given to the users to trigger/publish notifications and Display Notification iView is kept under Content Area of Inner Page of the Framework page.
So, when Content area is refreshed or had some action, then only Dispaly Notification iView will be triggered and then pop up message (notification) is Visible.... Now I the requirement is, even when user is idle then also display notification iview/dynpage and its methods should execute.

Displayed a message box then removed it by a program without user action

Can a message box be displayed by a program and then removed by the program without any user action such as clicking OK or closing the box?
If so, will you show us how to do that?
I have a non-GUI application which needs to tell the user to wait while classes and being created and data is being loaded from the network. The message needs to disappear when the program is ready.

Upload file without user action.

Hi,
Here is my requirement: I need to upload file ( text / excel file ) from local PC without user interaction.
I try using file_upload element and I set visible property as none ( so user doesn't see this element ) but I don't know how to get the file data. I only can set the file_name and mime_type property.
Please help me how to get this file data. Or how to upload file from local PC without file_upload element.

I guess there are several function modules you can use. Try this : UPLOAD_FILES.
Maybe you can solve your issue with it. Otherwise search the Abap Forum on how to upload files from PC to WAS.

Address Book entries are being deleted without user action

I am currently using the Thunderbird v 31.3.0 email client on my personal machine running Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 upgrades. I am having a reoccurring problem where I add an email address to my personal address box, the address remains in the list for some time and then is deleted without the user (me) deleting it. Has happened multiple times.
Appreciation in advance for any support regarding this issue.

IPod player auto launches without user action?

My iphone 3G seems to launch the ipod music player without me calling up the application. Quite often my ipod will start playing on the home screen even though i have not launched it or attempt to start it. It's wired. I will just look at the phone or insert my ear buds and the music is playing away. I know the double tap on the home screen button launches the player in locked mode, but I am not hitting the button at all. I think this may realte to my iphones horrible battery life. Any ideas? maybe I should explain myself better. Considering CA just changed the law to banning cellphone use while driving, earbuds are required for all iphone users while driving. Apple is "designed in California" or so it says on all their packaging. I hope they are smart enough to pick up on this an adapt the design you mentioned in your first sentence. I think the vast majority of Californians would agree, and as more states do the same the rest of the nation as well.
Not that I disagree with you, but is there any documentation to support your claim that inserting the earbuds causes the ipod to launch? i would really like to read that fact, and most certainly let Apple know how poor that design feature is. I never want any applications automatically launching on any device. This fact, and the lack of adaptation to change, is what flaws Blackberries so much, and why they are so behind in the marketplace.

Upload Interactive form into WDA without User action

I need a pdf form to get loaded when WDA starts.
At start WDA will read URL of pdf form from Z table and upload the form.
After the form appears on the screen - the user will update some fields on the form.
WDA will read form datasource and update Z table. Then WDA will send the form back to the same URL.
Initially the form is created in another Webdynpro. The form is Interactive ZCI layout with XML based interface.
Any code examples will be greatly appreciated.

Repeating system alert sound, without user action 10.6.1

After installing 10.6.1 on my Macbook Pro unibody 17", i get a repeating system alert sound every 2 seconds. I have restarted,logged out,changed my sound settings, and eventually just had to turn the system alert volume all the way down.
Anyone else having this problem after the 10.6.1 update? Any resolutions besides muting system alerts?

I think I found my issue - It seems to have been with Peer Guardian. I uninstalled Growl a little while back because of a bug causing Firefox to launch in the background instead of in the foreground (help from Apple's forums helped with finding that fix), and I think PG heavily utilizes Growl for user notifications.
One this you might try is creating a dummy user and logging into that account to see if the problem still exists. If it doesn't, then you know one of your startup items (System Preferences --> Accounts --> (user) --> Login Items) is causing the sounds you're hearing.

Select user action without opening the form

Environment is: LiveCycle ES2.5 Turnkey install Express Mode. Windows, JBoss, MySQL.
Browser IE w/ Reader-X.
At a User Task, it has a few User Actions (such as "Approve", "Reject"),
how do I allow the user to activate/select one of those actions (while he is in the WorkSpace) without forcing him to open the form?
I remember those User Actions used to show up in the To-Do list's "card", but somehow I don't see them anymore.
What do I need to do to get them show up in the "Card" ?

I found it. It's under the "List" view, not on the "Card".... I thought it was on the Card in previous version...

URL iView - Open in new window - User Action Independent

Hello Experts,
What has been configured:
I have built an I URL iview and set its paramater to open in a new window. I have assigned the iview to a role. I have also assigned a quicklink to the iview
Name: xyz
quick link: xyz
quick link url: https://<domain>/irj/portal/xyz
What has been tested:
When I log in to the portal using the test user ID and click (user action) on xyz the destination URL pops up in a new window as expected.
When I access the iview via the quick link it loads the destination URL in the same portal window (no pop up)
What do I need:
We will be using the quick link to get to SAP portal from another legacy portal and I want to hit the target URL as soon as I access the quick link without being taken to the portal page in which the target URL content is rendered. I also do not want to have the user click on the/a link to navigate to the target URL.
Things as they stand:
The destination URL is hitting a standalone WD ABAP object which is not hosted in SAP portal content. The SAP portal has to be used because the logon ticket issued by the portal is also used to login to the server hosting the WD ABAP.
Please let me know if you think this is something that can be achieved.

2. It is not possible to hide it completely or disable it. Give this a try:
Create a Static HTML page and create a link in that which will take you to quick link page/iview.
or you can create a custom application which will call the application underlying the quicklink on click of a link.
3. For removing the History, Back and Forwards links in Page Title Bar, follow the below:
In Portal navigate to Content Administration - Portal Content - Content Provided by SAP - End User Content - Standard Portal Users - Open the Default Framework Page
With the Framework Page - you will find Page Title Bar iView - Open the iview and go to iView Property
Show Back/Forward Links and Show History List by default this setting is set to Yes. change teh setting to No and you will not be seeing those in the page title bar.
NOTE: If you make this change it is applicable to all other pages and iViews. So be cautious before making the change.

How can I localize the text of process names, task names and user actions within a process?

I'm very interested in using the capabilities of Adobe LiveCycle Process Management for my project, however I have one rather large concern... I hope someone here can tell me whether there's a way to address it.
Since I work for the Government of Canada, I have to meet certain requirements relating to bilingualism of the user interface. It's my understanding that the Workspace portion of LiveCycle has already has support for French.
But what about the design of my processes? How can I display text to a user in the language of their choice when they're interacting with my processes? ... in particular, I'm thinking about the process name, task names, and user actions.
I hope that this is possible without too much pain. I imagine this must be a pretty common requirement!

You can completely change the content of whole pdf by using "renderPDFForm" operation under service "FormsService". in this operation there is Template category where you can set the Locale.
And if you need to change the other workspace options like Complete, Save as Draft , you can then import workspace ui project and then change apppropriate values.

Replication of user actions

Hi All,
I have two databases. One is 9i and other is 10g.
There are process executing on 9i like loading of data, updating of data etc which are done using unix jobs.
Plus few users also work on the already loaded data. All these actions may happen on the same time but on different objects.
I want to replicate only the user actions on 10g.
This is because the activities of loading and updating also happen on 10g automatically by unix jobs.
Basically, I want to have a method by which I can replicate the user actions on the 10g without importing the dump from 9i to 10g at the end of the day.
The users cannot perform actions on both databases at the same time. Hence I need to know a way of replicating the user actions on the 10g database while they do it on 9i.
Replication need not be done at the same time. Its not a constraint.
Any ideas on how to do it?

Thanks but the reference you provided is for a one time activity.
The parallel run activity will go on for some days at least a week.
I will try to put my request once again by giving a very simple example.
These steps will be performed on each day.
1. Run job on 9i and 10g. Say the job runs for 4 hours.
2. While the job is running, user performs some actions on 10g (only), on the data loaded by job today as well as previous data.
3. I want to replicate the actions perfomed by the users on 10g on 9i as they happen or as a collective commands at the end of the job on 9i and 10g.

Error on pst file When leave outlook opend without any action for a while

When I leave my outlook opend without any action for a while it reports an error in the pst file and out of memory error,so i have to close outllok then open it again
this problem is general (not just on my pc ), i tried compact for the pst file but the problem still occure.
i use outlook 2007 and sun java System Connector 7.3
my mail server is :
Sun Java System Communications Express 6.3
sun java System Connector 7.3 patch id is 139162-05

_1-when i click on any message the error is:_

*2-when i click on folder such as drafts,sent items ..... the error is : out of memory please close..............*
if i close the outlook then open it again every thing is working well
i monitor the outlook process, it was as the following:

Calling WDModifyView without any action

I have 2 EVS Selector fields (input fields binded to BAPI) and a search button in my screen. I want to modify the free text entered by user to Upper Case, as the validation is not possible in EVS, i have written the code for case conversion in WDModify view and the Search button(attached to Search Action) will pass the data to RFC and call the next view showing the result.
Code in WDModifyView:-

WdDoModify view is a static method of the WD rramework , as you said it is working at first time it means , you have flag it
if (firstTime)
remove this line (if condition ).

Event case with non-user action

I'm actually using LV8.0.1.
With this and older version of LV it wasn't possible to get an event case fired without an user action. (for example by changing the value programmatically.)
Is it possible in LV 8.2?

Yves,
You just missed the property node in your right-most loop. To create a property node, right click on the block diagram control->create->property node, and then select "Value(Signaling)". Value(Signaling) is different from "Value" in that it "signals" to LabVIEW that a change has been made, and thus an event can fire. See the image of the code in your right-hand loop.
