Mac driver for OS 10.6.8

I just purchased HP Envy 7640 printer, and there are no drivers listed for MAC OS 10.6.8.I can not upgrade the OS, as sever critical programs will not run on Mac OS 10.10. what recourse do I have?

I afraid you will have to upgrade the OS for the printer to fully work ir get an older model which is compatible with Snow Leopard, the printer is only supported on Lion or newer OS versions as you may find listed below (Under the System Requirements section):

As a workaround you may use an alternative driver, but that will only allow printing from the Mac.
For that download and install the following package:

Next connect the pritner to the Mac or to the same network.
Open System Preferences > Print & Fax and click the plus sign.
select the listed 7640 printer and click the Print Using drop down and then on Select Printer Software.
Select the HP ENVY 5530 from the list and add the printer, that should allow printing to the 7640 printer.
Basic scanning can be done via the EWS interface by opening the Scan tab, that only applicable for a network connection and only provide basic scan options.
It can be reached by typing the printer IP address into Safari.

Mac Driver for Nokia 6255

Well, with a NO PC card slot on my new MacBook, I was wondering how do I connect to the net using my Nokia 6255(CDMA conenction) via the the Nokia DKU-2 USB cable. Where can I get the drivers for this & how do I go about it

From what I see there is no Mac Driver for this phone and usb cable yet:

It is only provided driver for windows. And if you have xp installed from boot camp in your MacBook, you could use that driver on XP side.
That phone is not sold in us market yet as stated on nokia site:
The Nokia 6255 phone has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC"). This device may not be sold or leased or offered for sale or lease, until FCC authorization is obtained.
so that could be why there is no driver for Mac yet.

yes-I checked for you and yes, there's a driver. and yes, my experience has been that you can plug pretty much any usb keyboard into your Mac and it should work, at least the basic functions will work fine. Tried it out with a keyboard I found in the dumpster near my condo, and it worked, so there's that, anyways

I bought a CA-42 cable for my Nokia 3220. I have Virtual PC v.6.1.0 and Windows XP Pro installed on my eMac. I have enough RAM to handle running VPC/WinXP and Mac OS X at the same time (768 MB). Can I use the cable to connect my phone to my Mac, but while running VPC and WinXP? The phone SHOULD think it's connected to a PC shouldn't it?
I want to use the Nokia PC Suite to manage my phone, but also to back it up, as I want to have it flashed, and need to save everything, first.
I haven't been successful, so far, and would like to know if using Windows on VPC can be done, what settings I need to adjust, or if you have to actually have a PC (which would be a real downer [G]). This would be so much simpler if Nokia would just come out with a Mac version of their suite.Thanks.

Trouble loading Mac driver for Display Adapter (connecting Mac to flat screen TV)

Howdy:
I'm trying to connect my Mac (OSX 5) to a flat screen TV. To do so I just bought a USB 2.0 to HDMI® Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920 x 1080). The mini CD containing the DisplayLink software drivers that came with the unit won't fit in my Mac CD drive. I then tried to download the correct driver from the DisplayLink website, "DisplayLink USB Graphics Macintosh Driver" which appears to be appropriate for OSX 5 (at http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php). This proceeds through the installation steps, then bombs out with the error message that "The following install step failed: run preinstall script for DisplayLink software. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
In the hopes of finding a compatible driver, I looked for an earlier version of the driver on the DisplayLink site, but couldn't find one.

Your 20" 2007 iMac has a mini-dvi video out. Forget about using usb and installing drivers and just use a mini-dvi to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable instead.
Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter
Then connect your audio line out (headphone) to your TV's audio in and you should be set to go.

i have a laserjet printer HP Model C3990 A, very old model indeed.Bought recently i macbook air and cannot print on my old printer. Tried to donwload thw drivers online but cannot find the drivers for OSX
Can anybody tell me is this printer is obsolete for My mac, if i have to buy a new one? or does anybody know the link to downloading the drivers of this pritner to a mac?

I afraid the printer is not supported on Mac OS X 10.9 and and there are no driver options available for Mavericks as you may find listed below:

You might have lack using a 3rd party driver such as HPIJS, which seems to support the printer.
Although it do not list 10.9 I can confirm it do work with the latest OS as well.
Be sure to download and install any of the 3 required downloads:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpijs
Next be sure to connect the printer and ensure it is powered on and ready.
Clcik the Apple icon and select Printers & Scanners.
Click the Plus sign and check the listed printer.
Clcik the Use drop-down and then click on Select Printer Software and locate the HP LaserJet 6l hpijs, 3.10.6.15 driver.
Confirm the steps to add the printer and try printing using the newly created print queue.

Need help getting Mac driver for HP PSC 1510 that works on XP networked printer

My goal is to use a Mac OS X 10.5 laptop and use a Windows XP networked printer - an HP PSC 1510. So far I have failed.
I downloaded a driver update 1.1.1 from Mac which has version 4.03 of the HP PSC 1500 series family of drivers. However, the documentation states that it is not one that will work with an IP or XP connected printer. The earlier driver that came with Mac OS X 10.5 documentation also says that it will not work with an IP or XP connected printer. This explained why the Mac versions of the HP software applications could not see my printer. I had also tried using the default Postscript generic option presented when I was setting up the network printer on the Mac. My one graphic page printed as ten or twelve text pages of nonsense characters so that was also a failure.
So I have my shared HP PSC 1510 wired (connected) off my Windows XP desktop and shared on my home network. I really want to be able to print to the HP PSC 1510 from my wireless Mac laptop especially now that I am partially disabled and getting up and to the PC printer is painful.
If anyone knows how to make this work properly, or even an acceptable workaround, I would be ever so grateful.

Reformating Mac Drive for use in PC

So, it seems that I have a computer voodoo curse out there. My ibook G4 screen died on me last night (black screen, like it's on the dimmest setting)and from the postings here, it looks like it'll cost me $600 to get the LCD replaced on my 34 month old computer.
So what I want to do is remove my G4 harddrive and insert it in my old PC laptop in which the ONLY issue is a dead harddrive.
PROBLEM:
How do I completely wipe out everything on my G4 hardrive? I need it to be clean as a whistle as I will be using my bootable XP CD to start up my Toshiba.
I'm poor, (keep on spending money on computers that die on me) so I prefer not to drop it off at a shop.

You ought be able to do this directly in the PC laptop (providing, of course, that the hard drive is of the correct type for that computer). In such a case, an appropriate PC boot floppy (or CD) that contains a utility to securely erase a hard disk would be used first. You may want to try a Google search for something like "PC erase hard drive" to begin with, or have a look at a site such as download.com.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to install my two printers on mac book pro.
Problem 1.
My HP psc 950 printer is only printing in a bad black and white quality - no color at all?? - any idea where I can download a printerdriver that is actually up to date? The one mac book has preinstalled seems not to be the right one?
Problem 2.
My may can´t find a driver for my other printer Canon LPB 5000 at all. I´ve already downloaded the canon drivers for Mac book - so I see a long list of Canon drivers but the LPB 5000 is not there and I don´t find any download of it in the web. I work with os x 10.7 and there is just an old mac driver for 10.6 to be found on the Canon website. I downloaded it but still does not work.
Hope someone can help. Both printers used to work fine on Windows but I am changing to Mac now and need to get them work.

Driver for Panasonic KX-P1124

Hi Folks, I’m a little embarrassed in that I have been using Apple computers since the IIe was new and can’t seem to resolve what should be a simple problem.
I have a Panasonic KX-P1124i printer that I have been using for many years on a Power Mac 6100 using a PowerPrint adapter. Since I now only use this printer for making labels, I’m trying to attach it to my Silver Tower G4 using a IEEE 1284 Parallel to USB cable.
Since there apparently is no Mac driver for this printer, I downloaded Ghostwriter and the Epson LQ850 PPD which should work as this printer emulates both the Epson LQ850 and the IBM Proprinter X24E. Unfortunately, it does not work.
When I attempt to print the screen indicates the computer is sending data, but the printer does not respond.
I’d appreciate any suggestions as I have had a serious brain flush!

You could try the alternative communications software (backend) usbtb from _http://buymelunch.org/printing/usbtb/_. That software will sometimes work better with parallel to USB adapters.
You might also want to try another parallel to USB adapter if you can find one you can borrow or find one that you can return to the store for full refund if it doesn't work. If I remember correctly, the PowerPrint adapter goes back a bit. It may not be fully USB compliant.
