Macbook 13.3" 2.4gHz MB404LL/A BATTERY
What battery model # (part number) will power my Macbook 13.3" 2.4gHz MB404LL/A (A1181) Macbook4,1 ?
Are there several model options (different mAh, etc)?
Which performs the best?
You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life) bought in October 2010. The charger has been playing up for a while now - the light going out but coming back on when I move the cable a bit - faulty connection it seems. It has now stopped working at all.
Apple UK charge a whopping £65 for a replacement - and the reviews are AWFUL for it!
I need to know which one I need - 45w, 60w and 80w are listed - can someone tell me please? If I'm going to pay this price I want to make sure I get the right one!
Also, is a genuine Apple one available on Amazon UK, does anyone know please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Meanwhile my battery is going down.....Thanks for that wjosten. Much appreciated.
I've read here on Apple's site that the 85W version will work, as you say, and that it would run cooler with a 13" Macbook - I have a 13" MBP of course but assume this would be the same with mine. I wonder if running cooler is a good thing (it sounds as if it is) and it would be better for me to get the 85W version than the 60W one?
Then I have to decide whether to pay the (extortionate as it seems to me, though I may be wrong) £65 from Apple (bearing in mind the rotten reviews here of the Apple product), or risk a cheaper alternative from Amazon UK, at around £20 (also with various rotten reviews)... Any suggestions? Please? :-) -

Is battery life a factor in your decision? If so, knowing that may help someone else give you some more input. -
Can I fit a 1TB HDD into a MacBook Pro 17" 2.4GHz which was released in mid 2007? There are 1TB HDD available but they are 12.5" high. Will they fit this model MacBook Pro?
Sorry, 12.5mm high not 12.5" high!

What is the best way to use a macbook pro? Plugged in or on battery?
Is it better for the computer if you use it while it is plugged in or to use it on battery until it needs recharged and then recharge it all the way before using it again? Which way is it better for the computer in the long run?
It doesn't really make any difference unless you don't really need to use it on battery power. Use the battery when you can - when you are mobile. Otherwise, use the charger.

MY NEW MACBOOK AIR IS HEATING UP AND ITS BATTERY IS DRAINING OUT REALLY FAST
MY NEW MACBOOK AIR IS HEATING UP AND ITS BATTERY IS DRAINING OUT REALLY FAST. WHAT TO DO? I BOUGHT IT JUST 5 DAYS AGO.
If you are within the 14 day purchase period you can exchange your MBP for a replacement. If not you can have it checked out at the Apple store genius bar.
CPU intensive applications will place stress on the CPU/GPU which will create heat and speed up the fans. That is normal. If you will, download from the Internet iStat pro and install it. When your MBP gets hot, post an image such as this from mine:
Also open Activity Monitor and set to show 'All Processes' and '%CPU' to display values from high to low. Post that as well like this:
From this information we may be able to tell if there are any issues or not.

My computer (MacBook mid-2007) does not recognise the battery suddenly. A cross appears on the image. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it didn't help. Is the battery dead?

Hi, I have a macbook pro 17" 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo 2007, will upgrading to Yosemite slow me down or create problems with my Iphone or other app ?
Yes, i do not suggest upgrading right now. There is some software malfunction or glitch that spontaneously shuts down this specific model. I upgraded and it was a pain to downgrade and make my mac usable again.

My 13.3" macbook pro will not power up.The battery indicator light does not come on.The Mag safe charging light flickers green and red dimly.I had a cell phone connected to the USB port.
This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
1. Take off bottom case
2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did) -

I have a early 2008 Macbook pro and just bought a new battery, but it is not holding a charge
I have a late 2008 Macbook pro and just bought a new battery, but it is not holding a charge. I read it may be the charger,
that sometimes is blank, but it does charge my computer.
Anything I can try?
I have updated to 10.9.2

My macbook pro (late 2008) shuts down but battery is at 25-30%
My macbook pro (late 2008) shuts down but battery is at 25-30% and I don't get a low power warning box before this happens. This only happens when the power chord is not connected, and it restarts with no problems once I put the power chord in. Does this mean I need a new battery, or is it an indication of something else? Using osx 10.5.8
Mine is Unibody 15" MBP late 2008, with the exact problem as yours. It can be a sudden shut down at 25-32%, or, after upgrading to OS 10.7.2, can be hang all of sudden on battery power.
Condition on, "Replace Soon". From 4.5 - 6 hours when new, goes down to 1 - 2 hours on discrete graphics.
But after 'abusing' it for the first year in the heat of Jakarta's climate in a non AC room when doing a video editing, before moving back to a comfort AC room at home sweet home, the battery performance is still top notch comparing to other kind than Apple. Also, it caused me to replace the right fan, after a lot of hard work on that first year. Oh, and by the way, I regularly done the battery calibration, at least once or twice between 3-6 months.
Here's also an useful link about battery I found on the internet:

Macbook shuts down rather than sleeps on battery drain
If I allow the macbook to go to sleep from the battery being drained, it completely shuts off and fully restarts when plugged in (it's non-responsive, and I have to press the power button to turn it on). This doesn't matter if I plug it in immediately after battery is drained or any amount of time longer. Any ideas?
I've used several other macs that come back from power failure sleep just fine... could mine be faulty?
Thanks for any help! Thanks for the response! I actually tried resetting the PRAM and it seems to be working okay now, but I've only let it go to sleep from power failure once.

My brand new MacBook Pro retina display not charging the battery any more after 3 weeks...no green or red Led. Any one now about this problem? Thanks
Either the power brick is damaged, or the charging circuit is on the blink, or both. Either way, a trip to the Apple Store or the Apple Authorized Service Provider is in order, as this ain't no bargain basement toy.
In the meantime, can attempt an SMC Reset to see if it helps.
