Last week the power adapter that came with my 13in MacBook began to melt. I ordered a new adapter "60w MagSafe Power Adapter" plugged it in, and it lit up, but now my battery information on the screen says "Not Charging" and If I unplug the adapter, the computer completely shuts down. I had no problems with the battery or the adapter before the "meltdown" Gosh, My Mac was still charging even while in fire hazard mode Lol! Why is the new MagSafe adapter not charging my MacBook? Please Help!!!

Hi Marlisa,
#1 Your battery should be replaced if it has actually gone through 1128 cycles. Most batteries don't last near that long.
#2 Reset the SMC

I have facing problem of charging my I pad through USB power adapter. It is not giving any response when connected to power adapter. When it is connected with USB port of computer it is charging with sign of "not charging" and it takes long time to cahrge. please help me to sove my problem.
I have no idea why the iPad would not be charging with another power adapter but will charge thought the USB port on your computer. Try rebooting the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up
If that doesn't help, I think that the next thing that I would try would be to reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. If you do this, all device settings will have to be re-entered and tha does take some time to do. -
I have an older Ipod classic it plays on everything i have . Recently replaced the battery because it would not take charg .After new battery it plays through several defferent devices but it will not CHARG !!! HELP!!!!

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I got my battery replaced about 2 months ago because my Macbook Pro (got it in 2008) would keep shutting down after a minute or two of being unplugged, so I figured the battery was on the verge of death. Last night I noticed that when I had it unplugged the battery life was wavering between 1% and 2%. I plugged it in and it says "Not Charging". It was fine a few days ago, showing me a life remaining time.

MacBook not charging after drink spillage?
Hi,
About a month ago I spilled Drink ( Hennessey and Coke ) Over my laptop. The next day I opened it up and cleaned it with alcohol , also everything looked fine and no damage seen. Tho when I had my Mac up and running I noticed that not all my KeyBoard lights were working and that the battery was Charging VERY SLOW !! I mean it would take about a full day for it to fully charge up.
The rest was working fine. Till one day I forgot to charge my battery and my MAC died. And would not charge up again. So I had to replace my battery with a new Battery from ( Apple store ). So my mac was up and running again tho still charging very slow. Once again i forgot to leave it on charge and it run out of battery and once it dies it just wont start up or charge. I can see the green light tho its very dim.
-I have bought brand new DC PORT and swapped it with an old one did not help , same issue
-I have tried several charges no luck
So basically my mac only works if I have charged up battery and once it dies it just wont boot up. If any of you guys know what could be wrong or how can I fix it any suggestions are welcome & much appreciated !!You need to take the computer to an authorized service center for assessment.

New power adapter and battery, still not working?!
A couple days ago, my macbook stopped charging. The power adapter was plugged in, but there was no indication that it recognized it or was charging, so I figured it was a broken power adapter. I bought a new one, plugged it in, everything was fine - until the next day. The new power adapter stopped working as well. So, I go to the genius bar, and they tell me it's my battery. I buy a new battery and plug in the new charger. Everything's working again, until I unplug the power adapter to move my laptop into another room - and now it's not charging again! I tried every power outlet, and something is definitely wrong with the macbook itself. I'm pretty frustrated since I've now spent $200 on new stuff and the problem still isn't resolved.
Does anyone have any ideas?A, I love Alexia Potatoes--I think I'm having some garlic mashed with dinner tonight.
B, Have you downloaded and applied this firmware update?

Before you do so, you may want to try just a plain old SMC reset:

New power adapter for old macbook - It doesn't work!
Hello!
My MacBook is 3 years old. My power adapter got broken at the end where you put it into the socket.
Now I bought a new power adapter. The adapters have changed now. The end where you put it into the computer looks now a little bit different. But they told me in the Apple Store that it will also fit my 3 years old Macbook.
At home it really fit my Macbook but it didn't charge. Nothing happened, no light. How can that be? Then I combined the two, the end for the socket of the new power adapter and the other part where you put it into the computer of my old power adapter. Now it charges. So is the problem after all the part where you put it into the computer of the new power adapter that looks different now?
Or what can I try now?
Thank you for help!
Sorry for my bad English.

My new iPad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. Any suggestions?
my new ipad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. What should I try?
Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. can you please tell me whats wrong with my mbp and how do i resolve itFirst check the connections on the power adapter and the MBP. Make certain that they are clean and see if the spring loaded connectors on the power adapter are not stuck.
Try a SMC reset:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
If available, try another power adapter.
If no success, bring the MBP and the power adapter to an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

Okay, this is going to be kind of long, I apologize.
So, I have a Macbook Pro that is a few years old (it's the last model to have the one button). Recently, by original power cord got frayed and stopped functioning, so I got a new one. I got the new L-shaped adapter and I started having issues. If I unplug it and plug it back in a few minutes later, it doesn't recognize that it's plugged in. But, if I shut down the computer and take out the battery and put it back in, it will start working until I unplug it again for an extended period of time. The cord works fine in my sisters computer, it's not a battery issue(got a new one after this problem), I reset the SMC, so the next thing on my list to check is the logic board. But then something occurred to me that I should have thought of earlier. What are the odds that my logic board will fail exactly the same time I bought a new power adapter? I think there is something different about the power adapter that is causing issues the SMC or something. Is this what's going on? Are there other reports of this happening? Is there going to be an SMC update to fix this? The new adapter with the angled plug doesn't work with older (pre-unibody) MBPs. If I were you, I would return or exchange it for one of the older ones with a straight plug. If you can't exchange it where you bought it, ask for a refund, and buy a new or refurbished adapter from one of these vendors:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/A1290AR/
http://macbookadapter.com/85wcompare.html
The first is a highly dependable Mac-centric vendor with whom many regular posters here have dealt often and happily, including myself. The second is a vendor I've never dealt with and can't vouch for. I mention them only because they advertise old-style MagSafe adapters both new and refurbished. Before ordering from either of these or any other vendor, telephone them and confirm that the older style is available and will be supplied to you if you order.

Ipad mini not charging after 6.1.2 ios update
I just updated my pad to the latest ios, then what i noticed is that it can't charge anymore. Charging is is still possible through laptop though but it's TOO SLOW... this is surely because of the update... what can we do... hopefully apple fixes this SOON...
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.

Hello, 92.romil.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad. If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help. The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Need new power adapter for Qosmio F50
Hello
I am in need of buying new power adapter for my Qosmio F50 126. The reason being if I try to run more demanding application on my computer, the entire computer just crashes, shuts down. I need to buy a new adapter before my entire computers crashes result in destroying my HDD. I am not sure if my battery are died or the power adapter fails to charge them up.
The picture of underside of my power adapter is shown below.

What I would like to know if the following two adapters are the same and would work with my model. I ask this because the price difference between the two units is significant., 20 USD. Also, I will be importing it from the USA using an agent here. Therefore I need to get it right on the first try.
I'm curious about the connecter it has on the end. I wonder if its same as the one which came with the notebook. I believe it wont be an issue with it clearly says it supports my model, Qosmio F50 126
Another find which I believe is the best and most compatiable.
This one will sure work but the price is much higher than the one mentioned above

You need an AC adaptor which supports *19V and 6.32A*
The Ampere value might be a little bit different. This should not be a big problem but you have to ensure the Ampere value isnt too low. The notebook needs enough power to run properly and to charge the battery.
However, the Volt value (19V) cannot be different. _It has to be *19V_*
The original AC adaptor has the part number: *PA3290E-3AC3*
I recommend you to purchase the AC adaptor recommended by Toshiba.
