MacBook Pro 2011 won't turn on

Hey I'm hoping someone can help me before I'm forced to bring it in. My computer froze while playing San Andreas so I manually turned it off. Now when I go to turn it on nothing happens. The battery indicator flashes the first led for five seconds but my charger shows no light. I knows chargers good and my computer had battery before turning off. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance

ok, just to confirm, the mac does not turn on and when the power is connected there is no LED lit on the charger itself?
have you tried another power outlet?
-check adaptor head for any dibre or stuck pins
-reseat the "duck head" (corner of the square part of the adaptor)
if the battery indicator shows one LED it shows the battery is about empty, try those steps and let us know the results. Thanks

(Macbook pro 2011) I had water damage so I sent in to apple for a complete makeover and they pretty much replaced everything. The laptop seemed to be working fine but the issue is that when I put my laptop to sleep / turn off it won't turn back on. I haven't had the time to take my laptop back to the apple store due to projects / travelling. I've found that there is one quick fix, manually resetting the ram by taking the RAM chips out for a second then re-inserting them. The other way is to hold Command+Option+P+R 3 times before reboot and that'll work temporarily for a day maybe. I plan on taking it to the apple store in a day or so if the problem doesn't resolve itself. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

MacBook pro 2011 won't turn on completely

My MacBook pro was running slow today so I decided to turn it off and turn it back on. Now it will not turn on anymore. It starts to turn on, the apole logo appears with the start up line underneath it and begins to load however it just stops and shuts off. It has done this everytime I have tried for the last hour. I believe I have the most up to date os so idk what is going on please help!!!! I need it especially since finals start next week!

the battery won’t melt because of long connection to the AC charger, although that has the potential of reducing the battery’s life.
Do you have access to a second 60 W AC charger to test with your MacBook Pro, or access to a second 13-inch MacBook Pro against which your AC charger could be tested?

You put the internal drive in an enclosure. If you choose to keep the drive, you don't need to erase it.

A four year battery could be dead. I'd contact an Apple Service Center.

You could try deleting the airpot from the sidebar of system preferences/network. To do this,
1) export the preferences for your airport to your desktop by pressing the gear next to the plus and minus sign above the lock.
2) Delete your airport from the sidebar using the minus sign while the airport is selected.
3) After deleting the airport, apply the changes and then press the plus sign to create a new airport.
4) Then import the preferences back in and apply the changes again.
This may bring your airport back. It worked for me. Alternatively, people have been having success with changing the location of the airport.

MacBook Pro (2011) Won't Charge Without Restart

Hi guys, I searched the forums for this problem but couldn't find a match. When I plug the power cable into my 2011 17" MacBook Pro it won't take a charge and the light on the cable doesn't come on. However if I restart the computer, the light will come on and it will start charging. This sounds like a software issue to me and I haven't had the problem until recently so I'm guessing it's caused by the latest OS X update. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and found a fix?

MacBook Pro 2011 won't boot

My early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" won't boot. Second time dealing with this this year. Apple Store charged me $300+ to fix it the first time. It worked for a few months, but stopped working again. Took it to the shop again and asked them to fix it for good this time. They wanted to charge me $310. I said NO. why would they charge me twice for a repair I asked them to do before? How widespread is this problem? I know for a fact I'm not the only one dealing with this problem.

My friends Macbook Pro 2011 same as mine wont charge the battery via MagSafe adapter. The battery is good and the adapter also, ive checked them on my Mac. The problem is that on her Mac it won't charge. I've change the MagSafe adapter on her computer and it didn't work still no charge, no green light on the L shaped adapter. Can it be the Logic Board?

Macbook Pro 15" won't turn on with battery or with power cord

I have a refurbished Macbook Pro, which I believe is a 2009 model. The battery recently was completely drained, and I plugged it in to charge, but all I got was the green light on the power cord. The battery refuses to charge, and I'm not sure if it's possible to run without the battery in, but I tried it and the computer won't start up at all. I tried an SMC reset, but don't think anything happened. Is this a fixable problem, or do I need to take it in?
OS 10.7.5 just FYI, I would provide other specs but I don't know off the top of my head and as per my situation, I cannnot check them.

So it's fully charged. I used it without any problems last night, then shut it down. This morning when I tried to turn it on, it won't. I have Lion installed and am up to date with all of the software updates. There is a green light in the AC adapter. What should I do??

Use the "Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own" method (ie., for all Macbook Pros early-2009 and later). Worked perfectly for me:
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if it's not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Macbook pro 2011 won't sleep

Hello there,
I have noticed recently that my early 2011, 15" Macbook Pro no longer goes to sleep when I close the lid, or when I select sleep in the Apple menu. When I close the lid or select sleep, the screen turns off, but I am still able to hear the fans spinning. Also, the white led on the front of the laptop does not pulsate like I usually does when asleep. I have also noted that when I close the lid, and then open it again later, the screen comes back on briefly and then goes blank. I have to push the brightness controls to get it to come back on. There have been a couple of occasions where the laptop does sleep properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is more then like a program running in the background that is causing it not to go to sleep. Or it could be corrupted OS file/s.
It's hard to tell without having the machine in front of me.

My MacBook Pro 15" late 2008 mavericks won't turn on after a shut down. Tried SMC reset, plugged and unplugged charger multiple times as well as installing the battery. It has started that after a while I have replaced my old battery with a new one,upgraded to Mavericks and increased my memory to 4GB. In the beginning after I would install every time the battery ,it' would turn on after 8-10 tries. Today it's completely unresponsive . Tested different outlets, with and without battery,nothing worked. I also heard that some other people have this issue once they have updated their operating system from 10.5.8 to Mavericks. Is that the problem.? Has anyone found a solution to this?
