Macbook Pro laptop (early 2013) sudden slow down, and heats up while sleeping
Hi! I need help with my Macbook Pro laptop (early 2013) that suddenly slowed down, and heats up while sleeping. It slowed down 3 days ago. I want to know what checks I can do to find what is wrong with my laptop. Thank You
Hi! I did reset SMC but it did not work but thank you. Now, my hard drive crashed, bought a new one, but unfortunately my laptop does not detect the new hard drive so that where I'm at. Im not sure if I need to format the hard drive, replace an internal part like the connector of the hard drive to the logic board or the new hard drive is broken.

MacBook Pro (retina late-2013) randomly shut down and now won't turn on again
My first submission on here
I recently bought a MBPR a few days ago and was working seamlessly. Today I had taken it off charge to watch a couple videos and talk to a few people online. While I was doing this, the MacBook Pro was rested on a couch so I'm certain ventellation was fine.
Then at one point it shut down unexpectedly. I was able to turn if back on, thinking it might be battery but as it booted back up I saw that it was on 65%. I then continued to use it and by the time it reach ~60% it shut down again. This time I wasn't able to boot it up again at all. I pressed the pwer button, plugged it into power and pressed it again and even tried an SMC reset. The AC's indicator LED flashed from orange to green (as it is suppoed to with SMC resets) but it would still not turn on after I pressed the power button again.
Please help, this computer is brand new and I am not sure what could have caused this.
Thank youI have picked up my brand new MBPR on the 4th as well, and last night restarted for the first time after software update ( mavericks ) and after 3 hours hours of grey screen with spinning wheel called APPLE who again never knows what they are talking about because they keep saying " we never heard about that " when I called about the same issue on my 17 inch 2 months ago. So I called 3 times this morning and when I let them know that I am quite " puzzled " that every time I mention a Maverick Issue suddensly my call gets disconnected, and nobody calls me back when THEY SWEAR they took notes of my call bacl number. Last call a few minutes ago, I spoke to a supervisor and talked for 45 minutes about all issues and when he expressed concern about me recording the call I told him " You guys record my calls, so where does it say where I couldn't record yours if I wanted to ? " and the supervisor hung up on me... Way to Go APPLE!!! I've been an apple devotee since I first got my apple lisa in 1984 but they have only been going to " s*** " the last 2-3 years.
So DIGGLY, do like I will this morning and return your purchase! -
Macbook Pro 15" Early 2013 - Built in SSD very slow to boot.
Hey Everyone,
Ok here is my problem.. I have a brand new BTO 2.7 GHz Retina MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2013 - ME665LL/A). It has an internal 500gb SSD.
Right out of the box, it took about 1 minute to boot... The Apple logo would appear and the spinning wheel below would spin for up to a minute before the welcome to Macintosh pre-configure window appears.
Figuring something had gone wrong with the OS install at manufacture, I booted into the recovery partition, reformatted the SSD and re-installed the OS. After the horrendous amount of time it took to initially download Mac OS 10.9 from iTunes, the install was successful.
I rebooted the Mac and the same problem… took around a minute to boot…
I gave up and installed all my software and set up the computer… Ive been using it now for about a month and honestly cant complain.. Its been very fast and works brilliantly: with one caveat. If I restart it or start it up from power - off status, it still takes around a minute to boot.
Ive booted up into verbose mode and discovered when Mavericks starts the initial driver loads, the computer hangs on the “AppleUSBMultitouchDriver”. It hangs for 30 seconds, then about a second later says “got response code 2 reinitialised driver” and then continues to load Mavericks successfully.
Knowing exactly what that AppleUSBMultitouchDriver driver does, I removed it from the System / Library / Extensions folder. I plugged in a USB mouse (as the trackpad will now fail to work) and rebooted…
Bingo! the computer started in about 4 seconds! - however no trackpad (as expected)
I re-installed the driver, rebooted and it took 1 minute again, but the trackpad worked again..
I did this a few times to make sure 100% it was this driver causing the problem, and it is…
so I need help.. anyone experienced this? know a fix?.. or do I have a faulty trackpad? (the trackpad works perfect btw)

Multiple kernel panics & black screen on Macbook Pro Retina early 2013
My Macbook Pro Retina (early 2013, 8GB ram, 250 GB hard drive) has been experiencing multiple kernel panics forcing rapid-fire restarts of the computer multiple times within a very short time frame. This is followed by the screen staying black even if the computer is on (keyboard lit up, can hear volume buttons) but nothing is on the screen. Once the screen goes black, I have to employ some combination of manually shutting it down (by holding down the power button) and then turning it back on (+/- doing an SMC reset) to get the screen working again. I also tried a PRAM reset once, but it didn't seem to have any effect, and I've repaired the disk permissions.
This issue has happened multiple times in the past week. It seems to vary as to how long it takes to happen again (could be a few days, could be less than an hour), and it has happened during multiple different activities (surfing the web, using Word, using Mail). I have experienced this both on Mavericks and after updating to Yosemite over the weekend.
I took it to the Apple Store on Saturday and while the Genius saw that the screen was black when I initially brought it in (even though the computer was on), we couldn't recreate the issue and the diagnostic tests he ran showed nothing. It even started back up fine for him. I thought I was OK, until I had another round of kernel panics + black screen this afternoon. At this point, doing a normal restart of the machine results in a kernel panic before it even makes it off of the loading screen and then a black screen.
This time, I checked the logs and saw the panic report included below. I don't know enough about this to understand what it means, but hopefully someone else does! Some internet searching has suggested that it might be a problem with the GPU (and the log below says GPU panic). Help, please!

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.

Проблема с MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013 (256Gb SSD)
У меня MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013 (с 256Gb SSD).

When you connect an external display, the dedicated GPU is used. This GPU generates more heat and needs more power, being this probably the reason why your Mac is hot. It also depends on the applications you use, but in this case, I do not find any application that takes a lot of processor and RAM.
Anyway, those temperatures are still not dangerous. Fans should be working to decrease the temperature. -
MacBook Pro Retina early 2013?
I don't understand. Today update to the MacBook Pro line... is it a real update or just a price drop? The MacBooks retina sold from now on are going to be called MacBook Pro Retina early 2013 or not?
Just asking because I am waiting an update to buy the 15'' MacBook Retina. My current MBP is having trouble keeping up (it's 5 years old now), so I'm interested in the new 15" rMBP.
I understand it just got a faster CPU and a price drop, which is great, but I'm wondering if Apple will release a new designed model later this year? A late 2013 model so to speak. Would that be in June or at the end of the year?
Thanks,
Kris -
Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013 ME665xx/A. Does it have the same body like the MacBook Retina of Mid 2012 MC976xx/A so that a case for a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 fits on my Early 2013?
Much thanksIf they are both the same size (as in, they are both 15inch). Then it will fit fine!

My macbook pro 13" unibody has randomly shut down, and will not switch on again, it is totally unresponsive. I have tried using different chargers, and my laptop had charge when it shut down,
Hey Sarahbetts,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the MacBook will not turn on. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

why has my hp deskjet 2050 printer and scanner suddenly slowed down and printing one line at a time
This is usually indicative of a defective print cartridge. Suspect the black is low in ink or defective. Please check all cartridges.

I have Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom on my MacBook Pro laptop. I bought an iMac and I'd like to move my installations to the larger display desktop for editing purposes. How can I go about transferring them?
I have the same question. It seems that Adobe is almost impossible to contact (I ended up here at the forums to ask the same question).
I will never buy another Adobe product again if I can get another program to replace it. If this is customer service then it is NON EXISTENT!
I notice that your question has not been answered and why should you have to get the information from a forum? I know of no other company that makes you do this for simple product information.
NOT HAPPY with this version of arrogant customer service (nor am I happy about renting Photoshop products into the future - it is just a money grab in my opinion). I will be voting with my feet and going elsewhere in future. -
Can I upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB for my MacBook Pro 13(early 2011 2.7GHz)? And how much would it be?
you can upgrade to 16GB if you wish to do so...
average price for 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 is around $50 - $75 depending on the brand.
why not spend $100 and go with 16GB 1333MHz from Crucial or Corsair.
you can get them from Amazon.com or newegg.com
see image below with 16GB Patriot Mac Series 1333MHz for $100. -
Extremely slow download, internet, MacBook Pro retina early 2013
Hi All
I hope someone can help me. I have an early 2013 MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM. I purchased it around the end of June 2013, and it has been upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.2.
For as long as I can remember, this computer has been excruciatingly slow. Downloads of some thing like 400MB can take many hours. Contrast this with downloads on my old ASUS netbook which can download this amount in a matter of minutes on the same network. My MacBook Pro is also noticeably much slower than any other devices (old ASUS, iPads etc) when surfing he internet - to the point where it failed to load an image rich apple page.
I have look into various forums but can't seem to find a fix for my particular model - although I note that many people are having this problem with Mavericks. Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance.I would have a look at your router before digging any deeper for problems with Mavericks. I am assuming that you are connected to the Internet wirelessly? Using your MacBook Pro, what speeds do you get at -> http://www.speedtest.net/?
Is your router single band or dual band? Are you in the US?
Call back,

I am having the exact same problem with my 13" early 2011 Macbook Pro. I have 10.6.8. I used the disk that came with the laptop to restore the OS to 10.6.7 but the problem existed there too. I have now updated it back to 10.6.8. The problem still exists. This doesn't seem to be limited to an OS version and seems like an issue with device driver or with hardware. I will try to take it to the Apple store and see if this gets resolved.
You too have a black screen in Windows 7. ? -

If no uninstaller is available, then you will have to use Spotlight to find all items with 'Blackberry' and 'Rim' in the titles. I would also download EasyFind and use that to locate such files. Often it will locate items that Spotlight misses.

Hey all, I've encountered a major problem since purchasing my MacBook Air OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. As I was previously using a Pro with an account password that used to work just fine, I decided to simply set the Air with the same credentials. However,
