Macbook pro late 2011 Not installing Mountain Lion

How do you boot from mountain lion installaion Because now it's just opening in lion rather than on startup?

I have already installed it from the mac app store, i open it from the launchpad but it does not open in a boot kind of mode, it only opens as if it's an app.

  • I just updated my MacBook Pro late 2011 15" to Mountain Lion. Whenever I open an app like VLC,Forklift,GoogleEarth,Photo Booth my color tone changes into a colder color. How can i disable this?

    Hello,
Mountain Lion is great, but i have been facing some difficulties, first of all my apps were gone i had to reinstall all most all of them.
That is not the big problem, the problem is that whenever i open apps like photobooth, lightroom,  or vlc my color tone changes. This is used to happen when I opened really intense apps eg mafiaII or like GTASA. Is there any way to disable this?

try disabling it, take a took at these snaps from my phone. Might not be really clear but can give you an idea
    Hope this is clear,
    Thanks for the suppport

Macbook Pro late 2011 not powering on. The charger shows a blinking dim orange/green light. I have tried pressing the small button on the side of the macbook pro to check the battery, but no lights show up.

    Hey Angelo_here,
    I'd run through these steps:
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

  • Does airplay mirroring work on MacBook Pro late 2011 ( Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5)?

    Hi guys,
I would like to use airplay mirroring on apple tv (3rd generation) with my macbook pro late 2011, unfortunately the airplay option does not appear in the display preferences (see screenshot below). Did someone have this problem before? Please advise!
    Thank you!
    Tial

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 Your computer is compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, but you have to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion to get AirPlay Mirroring.
Make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. When the download finishes, the installer will appear, so follow the steps to upgrade. To turn on AirPlay Mirroring, select the AirPlay icon in the menu bar or open System Preferences > Displays

  • Help! MacBook Pro Late 2011 Not Charging

My MacBook Pro Late 2011 is Not Charging. I have tried plugging it into multiple outlets and none have succeeded. He is a screenshot of my System Information>Power: http://grab.by/tkOM. I have no clue what happened. Last night we had a massive storm, but I don't believe there was any thunder or lightning. Whenever I plug the adapter into an outlet, the battery usage in the top right hand corner shows the "plugged in" icon, then it shows the "charging" icon. Then it just goes blank and back to normal. I have tried to restart it and do the SMC or whatever, but nothing seems to work. I have had this charger for a little bit over 1 year. Thanks in advance!

  • MacBook Pro late 2011 not switching to ATI graphics when running off mains power.

    Hi there.
My MacBook Pro late 2011 doesn't appear to be switching to ATI graphics when running off mains power. It always seems to stay on the Intel adapter instead. I've checked the option in the energy saver settings and it's ticked to "Automatically switch..." and when I untick this box, it switches to ATI and stays that way even when running on battery (as expected). Either way it will not switch to ATI graphics when plugged into mains unless forced to in this way.
Any one else seen this? Very frustrating when trying to run an external monitor with the Intel adapter!
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

"As a last resort I opened the bottom cover and disconnected the battery power plug (MagSafe adapter also disconnected)."
After everything was disconnected did you press the power button and walk away for 5 minutes? Try that, just had one restart after waiting for that long.

  • Macbook Pro (Late 2008) versus OSX Mountain Lion

    Kuzuzangpo:
I've been updating most OS updates on my Macbook Pro (Late 2008) via the App Store. The process has worked seamlessly so far. I love Apple. I wanted to ask if I should update to the Mountain Lion OS as well on my old Macbook? The App Store reviews state that it slows down the Macbook considerably. I am also thinking of getting the new Macbook Pro (with Retina Display) but want it in a 13". So far, there's only the 15" which - given my current Macbook and type of work now - is a bit too bulky to lug around. Any advice is most appreciated.

I have already installed it from the mac app store, i open it from the launchpad but it does not open in a boot kind of mode, it only opens as if it's an app.

Pawn shop! They only looked after it for a stranger then the ticket ran out. Will apple accept that sell-on as a bill of sale? I'll give you 50:50 chance on that.  Did you see Apple recently refused to unlock an ipad left to a guy by his mother who died of cancer. Apple wanted a court order! (Til it got on the national TV news).
Someone will have to produce the original owner's bill of sale I reckon.

  • Why is my MacBook Pro very slow after installing Mountain Lion 10.8.5. - Solutions?

    Hello, hello
After waiting quite a while - I paid the relatively small amount, and got myselves a new OS.
But I am very disappointed of the speed - I see that this also was a problem with OS Lion?
Please assist me. Perhaps others have this problem as well?
    Some info:
    - 2,66 GHz Intel Core i7 processor
    - 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    Also
    - Sometimes I run the Parallels Desktop 6 and 9 software, does this affect specs of the new OS?
Hope to hear from you guys.
    Sincerely,
    Harald

With only 4GB of RAM, how much do you have devoted to the virtual machine running under Parallels? Even if it's a small amount, it's going to make page outs and swaps used very high. From my perspective, 8GB of RAM is the 'sweet spot' for running Mountain Lion.
I'm assuming that you've a 15" mid-2010 MacBook Pro? If so, you can speed things up by installing the maximum 8GB of RAM. Go RAM shopping at Crucial or OWC.
Other than upgrading your RAM, the only thing that you can do to speed up your machine is to install a SSD. You can also check the SSDs at Crucial and OWC and decide if one is right for you.

    PLEASE HELP?

    bradhamer12345,
this could be due to a problem on your disk. You can try this to see if it makes a difference: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode.

  • Macbook Pro Late 2011 not recognising Ethernet Adapter after upgrade to Mavericks

    Hi everyone
I updated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (I deleted all the files and made a fresh install), but since then my Ethernet adapter stoped working! when i see the system report i find this information
i've tried reseting PRAM and others and didn't result in anything
when i go Networking Settings i don't find anything related to Ethernet Adapter

Ok. Thought I would check just in case.
We could try to remove the System Configuration which includes lots of setting files that relate to networking.
If you want to do this then go to Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences and there will be a folder at the bottom called System Configuration. If you delete this, (type in your password to confirm your sure you know what you're doing) and then you need to restart the machine.
The reason for the restart is that when your machine starts back up it looks for the system configuration and because it isn't in folder we just deleted it from, your Mac creates a new copy of it.
Give this a go and let me know.

  • MacBook Pro Late 2011 10.7.5 won't detect external monitor

    Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro Late 2011 13" Running OSX Lion 10.7.5. It won't flash blue at ALL when connected to an external display. Under system report, it shows that the "Link Status" is 7. The same setup works with another MacBook Pro Mid 2009 15 inch. I am under AppleCare, should I take it in? Weird. All firmware updates are completed, no "Air Display" type programs are installed currently, and gfxcardstatus is also installed and doesn't really help.

Looks like a problem with the GPU (possibly the screen, but it looks more as if it's the GPU). If I were you, I'd take your machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have it diagnosed.

  • 15" Macbook Pro late 2011 is running hot.

My 15.4" Macbook Pro late 2011 (box instalation) is running hot at 200F and the fan jumps to 6000rpm without any real reason.
I know it is not normal, what can I do? Clean install or service?

    Thanks guys,
    Hardware testing passed.
Did a SMC reset and it seems at least for now that the RPM jump happens more smoothly and not to 6000rpm.
I will try this weekend to stress it a little and see how it behaves. (I will also upgrade the memory to 8GB)
In the end I think I will do a clean install and see I there will be any more improvements.
    I'll keep you posted.
