Macbook Pro screen showing green line and blacks out all the time
My macbook pro have been recently showing green horixontal line all over the screen at times , and it goes away after restarting couple of times, after i log in the screen black outs after couple of minutes and sometimes the screen act weird
I would suspect that there is a hardware component failing. I would take it in for diagnosis.

Launch Waveburner -> type or copy the Logic 9 serial -> at the second dialog box ( insert xs key or type the serial ) type or paste the Logic 8 serial number.
It work and also Sountrack is running flawless without serial ask.

Startup screen has green lines and black box asking to restart

The Mid 2010 15-inch MacBook Pro problems are related to kernel panics, so the GPU is still working. In the case of the OP, the GPU has stopped working completely, so his/her problem doesn't belong to the kernel panic problem, so the OP may have to pay. I may be wrong.
Also, the 10.8.4 update won't help as this is a hardware problem, but it's always good to keep OS X updated -

Officejet 6500 forgetting network name and drops out all the time
I just got an Officejet 6500 (non-wireless model)
I can assign a network name to it and it works fine, until it's power-cycled. Then it has the original network name again and of course it won't work until it's installed again.
Another problem that could probably be related is that even when I use the default network-name to add it as a network printer in Vista, connection seem to break and it won't print again until I install it over once again.
I get the feeling that firmware is somewhat buggy on it. I don't expect such a device to use batteries to keep it's settings, so I think it's safe to rule out?@Wifi-Guy: Yes, it's using an ethernet cable IP address always work.
I did some additional testing to find the exact reproducable error.
(I have previously installed the HP software that came on the CD)
1. I added the printer using the "Add new printer" wizard in Vista
2. Print test page, works fine
3. Turn off the Officejet 6500 on the power-button on the front panel (then the WSD Print Provider dissappears in Device Manager).
4. Printer status now appear as "Offline"
5. Turn on the Officejet 6500 again
6. When WSD Print Provider again appears in Device Manager, printer status changes from "Offline" to "User intervention Required" and it's impossible to make it print again unless printer is deleted and added again.
I was not able to find any useful information about this printer status using google.
I just tried changing the network name. As I suspected, this also resets just by powercycling.
Note: I'm using Vista x64.

Switched to Infinity and dropping out all the time...
With ordinary unlimited we'd lose connection 2 or 3 times a week. BT Sales people who kept phoning said if we upgraded to Infinity it'd solve the problem. We upgrade 5 and a half weeks ago and connection is now dropping out many times a day - several times an hour sometimes! We were never off the phone to the help centre and eventually the engineer came back to do checks but things just improve for a day or two (improve, not fixed) then it's back to normal. Every wi-fi device in the house gets kicked off and the desk top help kicks in usually saying to phone BT that it can't get us back online. After week 3 of this I gave up phoning them as was fed up with their apologies. Am hoping someone here can help. Have complained to BT but no response after initial auto email. The desk top help has to keep renewing my ip address. I have no idea what this is but really could do with some pointers. Five weeks of paying for Infinity only to be kicked off repeatedly is leaving me feeling robbed!
I have moved this thread to a different board, now we know its not a problem with your Infinity connection.

What you need to do now, is to try different wireless channels on the home hub. There are 13 to choose from.
The dropouts are most likely caused when anothe wireless router is switched on, and its on the same wireless channel as your home hub.

If you have a Windows laptop with a wireless card, then you can download a free program which will display which channels are in use, and allow you to select a better one.

If its mainly the Xbox that is affected, then a better solution is to avoid a wireless connection, and use powerline adapters instead, as shown here.

It is probably a display or display connector issue. To check this, take a screenshot of the display by pressing Command, Shift and 3 keys. Then, open the screenshot created in Desktop, and see if the line appears. If not, it is a display issue.
If you have not got a MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can repair this yourself. You just need to look for the display connector of your MacBook Pro model in the Internet and install it, and if this does not work, you have to replace the whole display.
However, if you do not know a lot about computers or your Mac is in warranty, you should take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get it repaired -

I would take your machine into a Apple service center. Its highly likely a hardware issue. The most likely issue being the display has failed. If there is no external damage to the machines display they will replace the whole display under warranty for you. -

thank you, i have tried you suggestion but it is still just prompting me to restart rather than allowing me to install the os from the os boot disk. the problem began when the macbook was just showing me a folder icon with a question mark on it rather than starting normally. reading through forums lead me to replace the hard drive and hard drive data cable to try and resolve the issue. however, even after having done this the folder with the question mark is still appearing. i cannot get the os istall disk to boot properly. it recognises that the disk is in the drive but continually prompts me to restart and wont allow me to boot from the disk. sorry if my previouse discription wasnt accurate. does this soun familliar and can you help with this more detailed discription of the problem? thank you.

my macbook wont turn on. its a total black out even the led light on the charger has no light. the battery indicator has no light its a total blackout. if you pressed the power button theres no light at the bottom. nothing at all even the spin you cant hear anything. blackout as in

If that has no effect, then your only recourse is to take your machine to your local Apple Store/AASP and have them run diagnostics on the machine.

My MACbook pro stopped connecting to my home network out of the blue. Keeps on asking me for the password although it is saved on keychain . Haven't changed anything, all of my other apple devices have not been affected.
