Macbook Pro was stolen. I didnt set up icloud on it. I set up icloud onmy iphone afterwards to ensure future safety if it ever gets stolen. How come when I log onto icloud on another pc, the user pic is my picture from my macbook login screen?
Does this mean the scum who stole it couldn't get in and change it? Is this a good sign....will this provide any way to track it?
It's picked up the photo from your Address Book. Without Find My Mac enabled on the Mac before it was stolen there's no way to track it. You should change your Apple ID password to prevent access to iCloud though unless you'd password-protected the Mac you can't prevent him getting at the data in that; but most thieves will probably erase the disk anyway to make it look like a legitimate Mac.

Photo stream photos are not available on icloud.com. If you want to view your photos on the web from a computer browser, you have to add them to a shared stream with the "public website" option enabled (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). This will give you a private web to use and/or share with other for viewing them on the web.

One day, my ipad and iphone pick up my emails (.mac account) from icloud just fine. the next day, I recieved error messages that say my user name and password are not accurate. I removed the icloud program on both devices and added it back on to both devices and get the same message. I logged into icloud from my Mac and while I can log in, it times out when I select email and wont load the email there either. Any Suggestons?

iPhone -- returns incorrect ID / Password
iPad -- Same
Mail.app on Mac -- returns incorrect password error
icloud.com -- allows me to log in and use all functions accept mail. When I try to use mail it stays on a white screen for about 60 seconds then returns a dialogue box that indicates a server error.
I contacted Apple and they placed my iCloud account into something called "Troubleshooting" mode. They generated a new strong password and sent it on to "Engineering."
I suspect there are a small number ofo users like you who are affected with the same problem I am. Too small a number for it to be reported as an outtage. I suggest you call Apple and open a case to have your mail investigaged.

Every time I log onto Firefox I get the following message:
"Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features."
I would like to fix whatever is causing this error message to appear, but I haven't found my, "application's profile directory" so that I can check for "read/write restrictions". My hard drive is 640GB with 554GB free space remaining.
I am running Windows 7 - 64 and am using Avast Internet Security 2013.The Reset feature adds a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. I recommend hanging onto that for a few weeks in case you discover something essential that the Reset feature left behind.

HT4859 When I log onto icloud from my laptop, it does not appear to have any of my contacts.
I am attempting to back up my phone as my ability to connect to the internet with my data connection is not working. They have told me I need to reset my phone to get my data portion working. I can still text and make calls, connect on wifi, but can not connect to the internet via my cell/data. I don't want to reset my phone if I don't have to.

You can check for nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the Add-ons page and click one of the links as the last step.

I can only access attachments, with my iCloud email, if I am on my pc. I would like to be able to access attachments from my iPad.
The following answers the question you ask in the title of your post...
Because the mail app cannot go into other apps' data, like the photo app. The way to send email with an attachment is to invoke the app that "owns" the file you want to send. If that app has a "share" icon (a box with curvy arrow coming out of it) and if clicking that icon offers "mail" as an option, that is how to send an email with the file attached.
However, the body of your post discusses "access"ing attachments. If you are reading an email and there's an attachment icon at the bottom, press and hold the icon with your finger. A menu pops up with different choices. If you can't veiw it because there's no option to do that, then the file type is one that is not compatible with any of the apps onl your iPad. -
When in my library, I am trying to change the information on the artist and song title, etc. But when I hit the tab button, it won't take me to the next column. It always used to take me to the next column to change that info. I also don't know what happened to my autofill. You know when you have a artist already saved on your itunes and you just type the first few letters it will show the artist that's already saved. It won't do that either.
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

How come when I'm placing or receiving a call the photo of the contact is oversized and blurry?
Whenever I place or receive a call the photo of the contact is huge and blurry on my phone, but it isn't that way on other peoples phones. How do I fix this?
It has to do with the resolution of the picture you are using for the contact. The lower the resolution, when it is increased to full screen, it pixilates, like any other photo would when it has been zoomed. Contact pictures added from the phone will be full screen, contact pictures added in Outlook will only be thumbnails in the corner.

You need to delete her iCloud account from your device. Go to settings > iCloud, scroll down to the bottom and tap delete account. -
My MacBook Pro was stolen last night. I need the serial number. It is not showing up on my devices list. My iPads and iPhones are. I have used it to to sync my phones and pads as well having it registered with apple. Any thoughts? Thanks

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d. -

My MacBook Pro was stolen less than a week ago, and I'm not sure if the hard drive was wiped, if it was wiped would I still be able to find it with the findiphone app? Or would it be untraceable after it was wiped? My Macbook Pro was recently stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. I attempted to simply do a restore from the Macbook Pro's Time Machine backup, but since the new Macbook Air's hard drive is significantly smaller, a Time Machine restore was not possible. I even tried to choose only settings or only my User Profile (option) when restoring, but the backup was still too large to do a restore onto the new machine. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) onto my new Macbook without repurchasing them? Also, I reaad somewhere that if you went to the Mac App Store and attempted to repurchase the app and clicked BUY, it would simply alert you that you have already purchased the app (and trigger a re-download)... NOT THE CASE... So I just dropped another $19.99 for a second copy of Pages... Not my intention....

LMyou should get a usb backup drive as well. time machine has limited use in my eyes. it saves things. but older things can be errased ad space drops without telling you
nothing beats data redundancy. 2 saves is. 1. and 1 is none
im personally not fond of time machne though i use it only for a recovery parameter for a mac
id never ever myself consider time machine a genuine data backup tool. though most do consider it as such

My MacBook pro was stolen two days after I purchased it. I did not register my product nor did I have time to set up any tracking software. I still have the box and the registration/Serial Number. How can I inform Apple in hopes that they can help me locate my MacBook?

You say "before I had time to set up tracking software", but a new Mac will specifically ask you, as you're first setting it up, if you want to activate iCloud and Find My Mac. If you answered "yes", you can go to http://icloud.com and track or lock it from there.
