Macbook turns on to gray startup screen but will not load and shuts down after about 45sec -1 min
Hi There,
My Macbook pro has been experiencing some craziness the last couple of days.
Yesterday it was sort of slow and I was experiencing the rainbow spinning wheel between all applications.
The battery was very low so I charged it and attempted to turn it on today.
Now, when I turn it on I am experiencing the gray startup screen with the spinning geat and what sounds like
the CD drive going ( I believe I have a disk in there). After less than 45 sec to 1 minute the machine just shuts off.
I have tried the safety start and a few other startup methods, but always the same result.
Any ideas or should I go strait to Apple hospital?
Thanks-
Did you find any help to this? I have the same problem!

ATV will see homeshare but will not load and play video.
ATV2 will see and connect to my homeshare library but when I try to watch anything (Movie, TV Show, etc) it shows the loading animation for about 5 minutes and then says that an error has occurred. It was all working two days ago but stopped working when we had a power outage. I have tried resetting the computer, the ATV2, and the router. I have also tried restoring the ATV2. Nothing works. Again, it will allow me to select a video to watch but will try to load and fail.
ATV2- up to date.
iTunes- up to date.
iMac- up to date.
No Firewall.
I am not sure what else to do here guys... I have tried literally EVERYTHING that I have found in these support topics and everything that I could think of to get this to work again. I also have an ATV3 in the other room and it is working fine. I know it is NOT a bandwidth issue because everything was working just fine until the power outage 2 days ago which lasted only about 2 seconds..
Any suggestions?
About ready to drop-kick this thing and go get a new ATV3 from the Apple Store...
HELP?!
Mahalo (Thanks) for any help you can give!
Steve.I am sorry to see that no one replied to this issue. has it been resolved? Unfortunately not for me. I am having the same problem. Interestingly enough I can play music files from my homesharing iTunes library but I cannot play any video content - including music video.
APT2 Loads content (take at least 3 min.)
Indicates that the movie is there
I click play or select
The gear starts spinning
5 minutes later I get the error message: An error occurred loading this content. Try again later.
I have not changed anything in the house regarding computers or routers - other than updating Apple TV 2 -
Mackbook will get to loading screen but will not load
hello, my mackbook whenever i tturn it on will go to the gray loading screen and just stop. it looks like it is trying to load but it doesn't. Help please!
The same thing happened to me too, yesterday. I think the hard drive is probably shot, which is what you said also, so what did you do to your computer? Did you install a new hard drive? That's what I'm thinking of doing, and if you did, where did you get the new hard drive and how much was it?

This happens during almost every session I am online with Firefox on this computer alone. I have been using FF for years without issue.
Way too complicated to solve the problem of "firefox is already running ....etc." and there must be a more simple solution to this problem which occurs once in awhile.
It seems to me that Mozilla developers can find a better solution and one that allows control-alternate-delete to fix the problem.
Otherwise, it is just resort to the old reboot solution. -

MacBook Pro turns on but will not load. Battery will power up and charge. The PRAM second start up seems to work, but the Apple timer continues add-infinitum. There is also a disc in the laptop so I can't load re-load software OS 10.6.1. How do I resolve this problem?
Try booting in Safe Mode by holding your Shift key down when booting. Also, try holding the eject key down when booting to eject the DVD. If you plug a mouse in and hold the clicker down when booting, that should eject the DVD.

I have a mid-2010 27" Quad Core i5 iMac running 10.8.3. Startup disk recognizes the primary hard drive as a startup volume but will not boot from it. Have tried zapping PRAM, ran disk utility. No errors reported Any thoughts?
My bad Eric. The startup preference recognizes the primary as a 10.8.3 startup volume but when u select it the system does not boot. I can only boot from my external backup drive

If you do not find a solution in the iPod nano (6th generation) - User Guide, suggest that you call AppleCare if still under warranty or take a trip to your local Apple Store or AASP.

My iPad is suddenly not loading any apps. When I click on an app, the screen flickers to black and then back to normal, but will not load the app. This is ALL the apps, not just one. Have tried rebooting, to no avail.
Was a Restore one of the things tried.? [Attach the iPad to your computer and in iTunes click on your device. On the Summary page click on Restore and go through the process. Be sure to click YES to Restore from a previous backup.]

Okay so about four days ago my ipad says it has apps to update but whenever i go to the update apps page it will not load and i have tried rebooting signing out but nothing will work, any suggestions?
If you are getting the blank app update screen, many, many people are having this problem over the last couple of days. It is a problem that Apple must fix now.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then. -
Have just loaded Safari 5.1. 4 times. It presents a blank page but will not load anything from the web. What do I have to do to get it to work. It worked fine until the update was offered.
Funny thing, even this page was loaded and then quickly turned blank for me (I'm writing from Chrome).
Hope they fix it soon! -
Cancelled print but will not cancel and comes back on to print same job
cancelled print but will not cancel and comes back on to print same job on on hp deskjet all in one
Hi,
From the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and select Sevices. Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button. Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find the job has been removed.
