MacBook won't  update to iphoto 9.2 from iPhoto 9.1.1

How can update my iphoto 9.1.1 to 9.2?

1. Apple aren't here. You're not talking to Apple when you post here and they don't read here.
2. You need to contact App Store support. They are the only people who can help with this.

Macbook won't update anything, from the mac applications to firefox .
    Can someone help me ?

Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you have a minimum of 15% free disk space.
The startup disk may need repairing.

  • My macbook won't update. It says that it's updating, restarts, but doesn't actually install any updates. Help?

I've tried several times to update my Macbook software, but each time it says it will begin the process it restarts, and doesn't do anything. This is really frustrating, because a lot of the programs I want to use require new updates. Please help!
My macbook is right around 2 years old.

    Model A1286
    OS X 10.6.8
I haven't been able to install any updates at all since I first got the Macbook. It hasn't caused much of an issue until now- most websites at this points require updated versions of several plug-ins.
Here's the list that the software update gives:
         Safari ver 5.1.7
Macbook Pro SMC Firmware Update 1.7
         Apple Software Installer Update 1.0
         Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.0
Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 12
         Remote Desktop Client Update 3.5.3
         iPhoto Update 9.2.3
Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7
         GarageBand Update 6.0.5
         iTunes 11.0.1
         Security Update 2012-004 1.0
         Airport Utility 5.6.1

  • Macbook won't update past 10.5.5

I have a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8, (Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) I cannot get it to update past 10.5.5. When I go to update it, it says "Software Update doesn’t have any new software for your computer at this time." However, my itunes it on 10.6.3 which my computer says is the current version?? But itunes is on 11.3.... Please help! I want to not only update my computer but update my iTunes as well. My iphone will not sync with my Macbook or iTunes.

I think they told us everything except the Mac model:
(Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM)
That's sufficient to know they can upgrade to 10.7.5.
It could be MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro.
Also depending on the age it may or may not be able to upgrade to 10.8 or later.
Regardless, this tip should help determine if to go to 10.6.8, 10.7.5, or 10.8 or later:
Upgrading to 10.7 and above, don't forget Rosetta!

  • MacBook won't update to OSX 10.8.3

Have tried to run the software update several times, with a restart each time to install update, and no results.  10.8.2 is the current OS software.

    Try this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Now download and install OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo).

  • Macbook won't boot or install OS X from cd/dvd?..

I have a Macbook 09 , and whenever i boot it it loads to the apple logo with the spinning wheel and the loading bar , and pretty much stays there forever, i tried to use an installation cd i used for my imac on it and ive used it on another macbook before but whenever i put the cd in and go to the options menu and select it , it doesnt load up it goes back to the spinning wheel and logo, I tried running terminal and dskchk and it had a disk i/o error.. I figured the hard drive was damaged so i took the hard drive from my other laptop and put it in the macbook to try and see if the disc would install on the new hard drive but it just went to the apple logo and spinning wheel without the loading bar this time, im not sure what could be wrong with this computer.. but i really want to fix it, i heard the ribbon cable could be the problem but not sure because the hard drive still shows up in the options menu.. NEED HELP ASAP! Let me know, thanks!

Use the disc you used to install Snow Leopard on the computer. You can't use discs from other computer models. The original installer discs are intended only for the computer with which they came.
You will have to erase your drive before installing based on what you have described:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, set the format type to Mac
OS Extended (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Partition button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Replaced hard drive, installed original 10.5.8. Computer won't update to 10.6.3 from disks even though I was running 10.8.? before hard drive replacement?

I've had this MacBook Pro since 2009. Over a year ago I started having issues, yada yada, long story short I finally got around to replacing my hard drive today and now it works just fine, except... Before I replaced the hard drive, I was running 10.8.something. When I got it in 2009 it was running 10.5.8, so obviously that's what had to be installed on the new hard drive. I have the 10.6.3 disks from my sister's computer, which is what I had originally used to upgrade OS X before I used the app store to get to 10.8, but now when I put the disk in, it tells me 10.6.3 can't be installed on this computer. I have an Intel processor, I have an entire hard drive of space, and I definitely have more than 1GB of RAM. The hard drive is brand new and compatible with everything. Why won't OS X upgrade?

Excellent! So it's the disks, not the computer. That's a huge relief. My sister's laptop is indeed a MacBook circa 2010, not a Pro, which would explain why it wouldn't work. Turns out I did have other disks at some point in time for that upgrade, so I'll either need to find those or order new ones. Geek Squad tried to use the 10.6 disks initially but got the same message I got, which is that the computer could not be upgraded with those disks. But you actually answered my question, thank you so much. I'm so relieved it's not because of the computer.

  • My eMac won't update to 10.5.8 from 10.3.5 after I wiped the hard drive clean

I was wiping the hard drive of my eMac that at the time HAD a good running copy of OS X 10.5.8 on it. Now obviously I did not want to reinstall from a back up because I'm donating the eMac to a non-profit and wanted no data from me, the previous owner, on it..
I do have the original discs, but they only install OS X 10.3.5 on the eMac. When I tried to update the OS to 10.5.8, where I had it running before wiping, I got a message that the "Bill of materials was not included for this package" (or something to that effect), so the eMac would not allow me to update the OS with the newly downloaded software.
    Now what?

Thank you both so very much! I have found my Leopard DVD and am installing it as I write this on a different computer. The missing link, no doubt. I presume that after I install the 10.5 Leopard, I can then add the update that sits on my desktop now?
    Again, thank you so much.

  • Old iPhoto Library won't update

I have an old iPhoto library from iPhoto 9 that won't update to iPhoto 11 and won't open. How do I fix this or can I retrieve the photos from the old library without opening it in iPhoto?

Honestly I'm not sure what it is then. There is a forum for iPhoto, I would repost there and let them know what you have already tried, hopefully someone there knows what to do. You can find that forum at:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Help! There are apps out there now that require a higher OS on my phone that I would like, but can't get!

  • Refurbished iPod Touch won't update

Yesterday, I got a 3rd gen iPod touch, and it won't update to 4.1 software (from 4.02). I get a message that says, "This version of iTunes is the current version." (I'm not trying to update iTunes!)
I know that there is no problem, whatsoever, with my mac, because I just updated my 16 GB 3rd gen a month ago and this message didn't pop up (and I have never had a problem updating any iPod until now). Everything else seems to work with it except for updating the OS. I tried restarting the iTouch, the Mac, and iTunes. Should I just return it?

You need iTunes 10.1 to install iOS 4.2 (iOS 4.1 is old). There is no such thing as 16GB 3rd generation iPod touch. What verson MAC OS X do you have? You need at lesat 10.5.8 to update.

  • IPhoto and iMovie won't update on my MacBook Pro OS 10.8.3

I have a MacBook Pro, s/n W8******AGZ, running OS 10.8.3. Ever since the last update of 10.8.2 I've been having problems updating my iPhoto software. Now, just recently, iMovie won't update either.
What is an Apple community guy supposed to do now??? Please anyone with easy to do answers?
    <Edited by Host>

I was trying to update iphoto 9.4.3, through the app store. then this message comes up
you have updates available for other accounts
to update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.
i'm the only one on my mac. i only have 1 itunes account so it has nothing to do with any UserID issue. i tried reindexing spotlight. This has been an issue for about a month now.  Then i deleted iPhoto app and securely emptied the trash. All my software was in my macbook pro when it was shipped to me Feb. 2011. These are the two software, in question. iMovie is giving me the same message now.
apple software - iWork    065-7672    no iWork preinstalled
apple software - final cut exp    065-7674    no final cut express (from my Apple receipt)
I hope I gave you all the answers you need to help me, Thank you, TD

  • IMovie and iPhoto won't update on Used Macbook Pro Retina

I purchased a used macbook pro retina and did the usually initial setup for the laptop. My issue is that these two stock apps won't update in the app store. I recieve a message asking me to login using the ID that was used to purchase the app. I am assuming this is the ID of the previous owner , which of course I do not have. Any Ideas ???

The MBP needs to be disassociated from the original owners Apple ID. The original owner needs to call Apple Care to request that. Or if you have a sales receipt that proves you legally have purchased the MBP they may do it for you.
Then the MBP needs to be wiped clean and the most recent version of OS X that shipped with the Mac installed using OS X Recovery. You can also reinstall the iLife apps, which you should accept into your Apple ID in the Mac App Store on the Purchaes pane.

Just updated iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1.2  (from some version of iOS 6), now it won't sync with iPhoto 9.4.3 on my MacBook pro (running OS 10.8.5). I plug it in and iPhoto recognizes the iPhone but only displays a 'Loading..." message next to the 'New Photos' page.
Tried it also on my older Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8  and iPhoto 9.2.3 and same problem.
Any ideas? Already tried rebooting both devices.

I have same problem but with iPhoto 9.5.1
