Mail.app 6.0 - reply all now cc's my email address - fix?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion last night. I started using Mail and now anytime I reply all it copies my email address.
Under the composing preference tab, the Automatically cc myself option is UNCHECKED.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Same problem here. I also have "Automatically cc myself UNCHECKED.

  • Mail.app will not "reply all" to local accounts

    Hi all
    I have a number of mail.app IMAP accounts on a machine using 10.8.4 and Mail.app 6.5.
    If I receive an email on which one of those other local accounts is CCd when I go to "Reply All" then only the original sender will be in the "To" fields and the CC will be left out unless manually entered.
    This seems to be new behaviour in 10.8.4 but I can't find any chatter about it in the forums.
    Any ideas gratefully received!
    Thx!

    I can't find any info on this at all?? It seems like a crazy idea to exclude local accounts from CC when replying to all in a message. I am investigating finding some hidden attribute in com.apple.mail.plist.

  • Problem with Mail in Mountain Lion -- reply all function

    Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion in Mail when I hit reply all my email address is included in the cc line, so I get sent my responses.  Any one else having this problem or know how to fix it?  This didn't happen in previous versions.

    re: "like on my iMac, when it sleeps, it doesn't fetch email anymore like it did before Mountail Lion"
    First, this really should be in a seaparate thread.
    What is happening, just like my MBP, is that ML is *actually* sleeping properly. For as long as I used 10.7 on my MBP, it appered to be sleeping, but it really was not (screen black, etc.). And yes, mail would still come through.
    Now with ML, it sleeps like it is supposed to sleep, and mail is not received when asleep.
    Nothing wrong, no bug, just working properly now.

  • Mail.app messing up reply address for simple email addresses.

    Anybody else get this problem? When an email comes to me with the following looking "From" field:
    From: <[email protected]>
    That's with greater than and less than character at the start and end of it. It messes up the reply address.
    When I reply to one of these emails Mail.app sets the "To:" field to be:
    "[email protected]> <[email protected]" <[email protected]>
    When it should just be:
    To: [email protected]
    Anybody get this behaviour?
    Incidentally, you can search for these kinds of simple emails in Mail.app by searching in "All Mailboxes"/"From" for:
    <</div>
    That's greater than, space, less than.
    Cheers Daniel

    The Apple Bug Reporter give you some templates to use. Just make sure it is crystal clear. You might also want to provide a link to the specific section in the standard: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2822#section-3.4
    where it says "display-name" is optional when used with an "angle-addr"

  • Mail app keeps re-caching all messages when it starts

    Hello
    In past 10 days i have a very big problem which gives me headaches already. The problem is ( i did not change anything!) mail.app keeps re-caching all messages and attachments everytime i start the app. I have over 40.000+ mails so you do the math about how my bandwith eaten by the app. As i said i did not change anything. Anyway after searching dozens of forums and suggestions i did these steps:
    - removed MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 files. No fix alsa mail.app won't create new ones since then
    - removed whole cache, files, folders and accounts and re add them. No fix
    - Clean install of mavericks. No fix
    - Tried other apps like airmail, sparrow. Kinda no fix because airmail wont download whole messages only 1 month period even i choose to have all messages. Sparrow keeps giving error of unable to locate folders on the server. Only my windows thunderbird client works like a charm, there is no any issue at all but i hate windows.
    - some terminal commands before clean install which i really dont remember due to high number of commands. By the way i am using IMAP settings
    I really need a help here. I am talking about huge number of mails which are very important for me.
    Thank you

    Please read this whole thread:

  • My gmail is forwarded to my "mail" on my Mac.  I now have over 14000 emails in my "all mail" in gmail on my mac.  When I try to delete them, they keep coming back.  They are not on the gmail server any longer either.

    My gmail is forwarded to my Mail on my Mac.  I now have over 14000 emails in the gmail "mailbox" because I can not delete them.  When I do, they just come back.  Frustrated ...

    This is a Gmail issue.
    It is not possible to delete something from Gmail over IMAP: Gmail doesn't let you do this.  When you "delete" something from Mail, it "deletes" it from the Mac.  However, if you show the "All Mail" folder, you will see ALL your email in Gmail.
    There are 2 solutions to this:
    1)  If you go to your Gmail web account, you can select which Gmail labels are shown over IMAP.  You should disable "All Mail" so you won't see the folder in Mail.
    2)  From the Gmail web interface, you can actually permanently delete emails.  Go ahead and delete them there and they will be gone forever from Gmail, and from Mail.
    This is not something Apple can address.  It's how Gmail implements IMAP, which is totally nonstandard.

  • Mac mail keeps sending emails from different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing.

    mac mail keeps sending emails from my different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder and correct email account was highlighted. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing and annoying.

    Hi Mike,
    I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
    Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
    Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
    Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
    Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to
    Hope This Helps

  • Mac Mail has a gray gear that constantly spins behind the email address

    Mac Mail has a gray gear that constantly spins behind the email address , does this mean it has trouble connecting?
    I have 3 emails i receive in Mail and only one that constantly has the spinning gray gear is with google apps.
    Im using the free version, and it has worked great for a year.
    I tried to send a video and it ended up in my recovery box as 50 copies.
    I deleted the recovery mailbox and the account im having problems with.
    After deleting, i manually aded it again.
    I can receive mail.
    I have also followed advice given in a forum that said to go to: https://www.google.com/a/priestlaketech.com/UnlockCaptcha
    My ISP has a monthly allowed bandwidth cap and im close to exceeding it, i suspect that its because mail is trying to pick up mail all the time.

    Hello Roger
    Thank you for your reply but I don't think it answers my problem. You see it is not my Apple ID Account that has been hacked. I use the Internet provider company known as Westnet in Australia and my email addresses all end in Westnet.com.au
    The fake email address that was created is as below:
    [email protected]
    What I want to know is the IP address and location where this email address was created so that I can narrow down the list of suspects

  • Purchased tab in "App Store" app doesn't work when AppleID is not an email address.

    After updated my iPhone and iPad to iOS 6 (both 6.0&amp;6.0.1), Purchased tab in "App Store" app doesn't work when AppleID is not an email address. This happened since 6.0 and I hope that it will be fixed in6.0.1 but it doesn't.
    When I tap at Purchased tab in iPad App Store or Purchased bar in Updates tab in iPhone App Store, it just hang on "Loading...", but when I changed to other AppleID, it works. Apparently, my AppleID is not an email address but the other AppleID is an email address.
    Not sure where to send my feedback to Apple about this issue.

  • Mail app crashes when replying to emails

    I received my shiny new iphone 4 this morning (I'm in the UK) and all seemed to be working well until I attempted to reply to an email arriving in my exchange account. As soon as I pressed the arrow (for reply, forward etc), mail app crashed, dropping me back to the home screen. I then tried to reply to an email in my gmail account - same thing.
    I have tested this on both wifi and 3g networks and it happens on both. I can compose new emails and these send fine but as soon as I attempt to reply to an email mail app crashes. Any ideas anyone? Seems like a minor issue but as I access most of my work emails and respond on the move it is going to be a problem!

    turn on your airport mode, then go back to mail app, nav through the mail.
    if you don't crash from there, that means it's not your iPhone.
    go to your mail browser from computer, and accept invites, delet bounced mail..something like that. then go to your mail app from your iPhone..
    I had to accept meeting invites several of them and that take care that.
    Good luck to you all!

  • My mail app went blank, and all of my mail disipered

    i was deleting some of my emails in the I Pad2, and the screen went almost blank. All of my mail disappeared. I still have new email notifications on the home screen, but I have no emails in the program. I can't do anything in the program either. Like it has locked up. How do I fix it?

    Start with these things. Try quitting the app and restarting
    Quit the mail app and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    or...
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I moved and change my email address so now with my new email address all the songs singed except my apps what should I do without buying all my adds again. Could you help me please in order for me of not buying all my apps again. Thank you I

    Is any way that I can tranfer and updetes all my apps in to my computer and devices? Also I would like to delite completly the old email address so I could update all my devices and computer please?

    1) Create a new CSS document and save as mylinks.css.  Paste the following code in Code View:
    /* CSS Document */
    /**link styles**/
    a:link {color: red; text-decoration: none;}
    a:visited {color: silver; text-decoration: none;}
    a:hover {color: yellow; text-decoration: underline;}
    a:active, a:focus {color: green}
    2) Create a new HTML document and save as links.html.  Paste this code in Code View between the <body> and </body> tags:
    <ul>
    <li><a href="somelink.html">Item 1</a></li>
    <li><a href="somelink.html">Item 2</a></li>
    <li><a href="somelink.html">Item 3</a></li>
    <li><a href="somelink.html">Item 4</a></li>
    </ul>
    3) Link a stylesheet to your HTML document:  In the CSS Properties Pane you will see a little link icon to attach a stylesheet.
    Within your HTML page you should see a link to your stylesheet between the <head> and </head> tags.
    <link href="mylinks.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" />

  • Mac Mail.app V.2.0.5 with OSX server's email don't play well sometimes

    I have my own web, FTP, and email server. (OSX 10.4.4 Server). I've been managing my own server services since AppleShare V.6 .So I've done this a few times. I have set up an account for myself "nino" on the server that people email to, you know "[email protected]".
    On my laptop I have Mac Mail.app set to log onto my server, via the internet, and to get and send emails. Sounds pretty normal right? Yep, it is except four or five times since I updated the server to 10.4.4., last December, Mac Mail.app simply stops receiving email from my account. Now I'm a pretty busy guy and email is my main source of communications. Plus get a healthy amount of junk mail. So I hear that familiar beep at least twice an hour - usually a lot more. I can always when this tell when this anomaly happens when two hours go by without something arriving in Mac Mail.app.
    The catch here is the server is still accepting mail for my account. I can go to web mail, which I have set-up and working fine, and new emails are there! Mac Mail.app simple stops accepting them.
    I have tried:
    restarting both machines
    changing the password to my account, on both machines
    actually deleting my account from Mac Mail.app, restarting and creating my account again
    Nada.... I can see emails adding up in web mail....grrrrrr.
    The only way I know to resolve this is to, gulp, delete my account on the Server and set it up again. This seems to work but unless I've answered messages in web mail their gone! Poof. I do like to keep good records by saving and organizing business related emails. So when this happens I'm screwed.
    Any thoughts?

  • Mail 4.5 Quirk(s) - Now unable to drag email address to Search

    I've been going through printer issues since updating to Snow Leopard, and am just now getting a chance to address other issues.  This one is driving me nuts and didn't seem to find anyone else posting about it (or just didn't get the right search terms!).  But when I have an email up, and I try to drag the sender's email address up to the Search window in Mail (to look for other emails from the same address), since the update to SL am no longer able to do that.  It will not drop into the Search window.
    Another quirk that I'm having, less frustrating but it's there nonetheless is that when I've tried to copy and paste an email address into the Search window, I no longer get just the email address.  I mean, you have in many/most email addresses the person's name and then the actual email address inside of the brackets -- and when you click on the email address and then select Copy Address and then paste into the Search window, now I get the stuff outside the brackets as well.  And Mail will not properly search the email address until I manually delete the brackets and the extra name info, leaving just the email address itself.
    I'm not the only one seeing these quirks am I???

    I went to the local Apple store earlier this week and asked on of the folks at the Genius Bar if he knew how to set the outgoing mail address. He showed me that I could enable the "reply to" field and then put my mail forwarding address into that field. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to pre-populate that field so that it always has my mail forwarding account address.
