Mail application is still there. All of my emails and folders are gone since iCloud. How can I get them back using Snow Leopard? Or can I? Do I have to wait for Mountain Lion?

I need to check a few other things...
Click on 'Mail' in the upper left corner next to the Apple ()
Click Preferences
Click the 'Accounts' tab
Make sure your iCloud account is highlighted in the column on the left.
In the account information section what does it say next to:
Incoming Mail Server?
Outgoing Mail Server?
Also, did you use MobileMe before the iCloud?

My daughter saved her Pages documents to my iCloud account on her iPhone while my documents were apparently saved only to my phone. If you took the picture on your iPhone, they are still there on your iPhone, unless you specifically deleted a particular picture from your iPhone. And likewise, if the picture was taken on your iPad, it is still there on your iPad, unless you specifically deleted that picture from the iPad.
Now ... if you're counting on pictures still "being there" from being on the Photostream ... don't count on that, because that's only a temporary place and it has a time limit and a count limit for how many picture it will have. While the pictures you took on your iPhone and iPad will remain on each one respectively (so you won't lose those), it won't necessarily remain on the Photostream part ... which is only for sharing anyway ... and not meant for storage.
Whatever pictures you had on your Camera Roll and thus is in the backup in iCloud, will still be there.

All my notes are gone!! How do I get them back?

I mistakenly switched my notes to off in the mail, contacts and calendars section on settings. However it was switched to off under an inactive mail account. By doing so it got rid of ALL of my notes. I went to go back and switch it back ON but they were still gone, never came back. I even tried reactivating this old email account and they still didn't come back. Please any thoughts on how to get my notes to come back? Thank you

If you have a Mac computer backup they may be there.
Look in Mail>Notes on the computer.

Is it possible to upgrade to lion or do I have to wait for mountain lion?

Is it possible to still upgrade to Lion or do I have to wait for Mountain Lion later in July? I currently have Snow Leopard and upgraded RAM to 4GB on an older iMac Core Duo in order to use iCloud features in Lion. Also, I'm wanting to upgrade iMovie and iPhoto, but I'm having difficulty finding a download link that will let me do it online without going through the App Store, and it says I need to be running 10.7. I feel like I'm in an "obsolete" double bind until I upgrade to Mountain Lion and it isn't possible yet. I'm wanting to use iMovie 8 or higher in order to download AVCHD video. I just bought a new camera that shoots AVCHD and I can't download any HD video, nor can I find any of my old video which used to be on iPhoto and would open w/ Quick Time. User friendly Mac is no longer so intuitive.

Yes, you can purchase Lion as well as iPhoto and iMovie from the App Store. But before you can do that you must update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 by installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 update. Then you can sign into the App Store with your Apple ID and password, locate the items you want, purchase them, and download them to your computer.

it sounds like you were using iCloud. Go under Settings > iCloud and make sure the switch for Notes is ON (green side showing). If it's already on, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Your notes should sync up.

Assuming they are in your iTunes library, sync them back to your phone. If they aren't, you can redownload any music purchased from the iTunes store for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519), but you will have to re-import music from other sources to your iTunes library then sync it back to your phone.

A bunch of my notes have been getting delted recently..Whenever I go to notes theres another one gone.. How do I get them back? I have very important information on there!

Please help! I have alot of important information for work and school in some of these notes and all my important ones are gone! I havent deleted any within the past 4 months and about a month ago they started disappearing. I dont have icould on for my notes on my ipad or iphone. These notes were only located on my Iphone. What exactly did your friend do ? Did you or he take a backup of your iTunes library before updating your computer ? Have you checked to see if your music is still on your computer ? By default your iTunes library is stored under :
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If it's there then you can add it to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library.
If not then do you have a copy of your library on a backup ? If you do then use File > Add To Library to add it back.
If you haven't got a backup then you might, depending upon what country that you are in and if the music is still in your country's store, be able to redownload your iTunes purchases via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

Noted there were duplicates and triplicates of events
Had a One to One - unable to answer this
Advised to back up iPad before updating it
Backed up iPad to laptop then attempted to update but got an error
Advised to convert iPad to original format then use the recent back up to get back pictures
However all pictures were not recovered and the journals are gone
Journals were uploaded to icloud- are they not still there
Nobody can advise me how to access them in icloud?
And if I can -can I down load them back to my iPad

All of my contacts and calendar information has disappeared. This is not the first time this has happened, and when it happened in the past I just turned on my contacts in the iCloud in "settings." This didn't work this time and I was curious if anyone can help me restore the missing info. and/or tell me why they randomly disappear every now and then.

It's hard to say what would cause that but I doubt you are doing anything wrong. They only way you could intentionally make you contacts or calendars disappear is if you either turn off iCloud syinc for contacts and calendars in Settings>iCloud or signed out of your account.
If it continues to happen, you might want to completely sign out of your account, then sign back in. To do this, you would want to start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide your password and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Without a backup, you will not be able to recover deleted contacts. You need to set up a separate iCloud account for your daughter, so you can keep your mail, contacts, calendars etc separate.

All my contacts just disappeared from ipad but they are in the cloud how do I get them back?

I am running IOS 8.0.2 My contact information has just disappeared from my ipad. The information is in the cloud What happened, and how do I get the information back onto the ipad?
