When I am using mail and sending mails the sent mails are not being stored in the mail server (Yahoo, Gmail)

Yahoo does not allow free POP access. In order to use Mail, you will need to pay the $19.99 for Yahoo Mail Plus.
GMail is fine and works with Mail quite easily - and it's free.

The User Name in Mavericks Mail mail preferences is incorrect for one of my accounts, so the account won't function. It keeps asked for the password. When I change it to the correct User Name and go to the account, the entry automatically switches back to the incorrect User Name. How do I fix this?

The root user is NOT the owner of that little house. That belongs to the user that's logged in. To change that, see Changing user account shortname.

Signatures must be created for each account. If you create one sig in one account and a second in the other account, then each account has only one signature. You need to create the signatures you want independently in each account.

Is the account an Exchange account, a MobileMe account, or a Yahoo account that was created on the iPhone with the Yahoo account preset? If not, the account does not support Push access for received messages. Fetch only - automatically or manually.
If an account that supports Push access for received messages, who is the email account provider for the account? More than likely the problem lies there.
If the account does not support Push access for received messages - Fetch only, automatically or manually, try deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone.

REP-50138: mail : Mail server is not available in eBiz R12 Advanced Distrib

Hi,
I am trying to get Reports Advanced Distribution working in eBiz 12.1.1 for custom reports but get concurrent job failures with the following messages in the job log:-
REP-57054: In-process job terminated:Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-50159: Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-50138: mail : Mail server is not available
The <distribution>.xml has 2 steps:-
1. create pdf report output in the file system [works correctly]
2. email the report as a pdf attachment [fails]
(The xml appears to validate)
I have configured the <rwservlet>.conf "mailServer" pluginparam;
I can telnet from apps host (Win2003) to mailserver host smtp port (Linux) from the appserver environment.
Is there something else I should have done or am I trying the impossible in the eBiz environment?

As I said originally, the apps host OS is Win2003. We know mail works from the database layer on this apps host but this is the first time we have tried from the appserver layer.
However, it is impractical in EBS to execute reports from the command line because of the complex cross-schema relationships, embedded profile_options and temporary data requirements setup by a calling form in this case.
Some of the rwrun command line options can be included in a concurrent job but many of the common ones cause job failures
e.g. Tracing and over-rides of the more common report 'system parameters'.
I have already covered the issues raised in the notes you mentioned in the pluginparam setting so I am wondering whether eBiz has some restrictions on Advanced Distribution. I am waiting on Metalink but they don't seem to have any interest in responding to my SR which basically just asks the question 'does eBiz support Advanced Distribution'.
I'll wait on their response and post the result when I know what's possible unless somebody else has a suggestion.

Apple Mail- Mail not going into Inbox

I've been having this issue more and more recently.
Seems when Apple Mail checks for new mail (Mail provider is Google), it does show up in the All Mail folder that Google provides, but the new messages are not showing up in the Apple Mail inbox.
When I check this in the Google mail web client, mail appears as normal.
I'm missing messages, so this is something I'd like to figure out what's going on.

The problem is Google is delivering the mail correctly, Apple Mail isn't putting it in the Inbox. This is a new problem, which started in the last few days. I haven't made any changes to my email settings so unless Google did something, which is entirely likely, this behavior is not right.
Appreciate the insight, but that previous thread didn't really apply to this problem.

How can I send mail mail as different address using iCloud?

I have setup Mail in OSX Lion to use my iCloud account ([email protected]) succesfully. When I compose a new message I would like to be able to send from an email address other than [email protected] (eg. [email protected] which is an email account I have set to forward to [email protected])
In Mail > Preferences > iCloud (IMAP) > Email Address I have entered: '[email protected], [email protected]'
which enables the "From" drop list. When I select [email protected] and hit send, the message is not sent and Mail informs me that I have entered the wrong username and password. If I select [email protected] the message is sent without a problem.
Why is this happening? What's the point of allowing me to select a different email address without being able to actually send email with that email address?

So the result is both payload become attachment. Now the problem is how to change the main payload to become body of email and still keep the attachment become mail attachment.

Why does an email not show as read in Mail (Mail 5.2 on Lion 10.7.3) when i read it outside of Mail?

I use google apps at work thus have a gmail email address. I have the setting in iCloud set to sync mail but when i read an email on my iphone (or even when i log into gmail directly) it does not show as a read email in Mail. I would very much like to use Mail on my laptop, but having to read every email multiple times has stopped me from doing so. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you use IMAP settings in Mail on your laptop or is it POP ? The first one is recommanded for what you want and it will sync between devices.
And check again your preferences in Gmail to see if everything is correct and if IMAP is activated.

Unable to send mail- mail remains in outbox and I receive error message

Ok, I have used Mail for years. All of a sudden I am unable to send mail. The mail goes to the outbox and then I receive the following error message.
This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The server "smtp.mac.com" refused to allow a connection on port 25.
I can connect to webmail of course and send mail that way.
I receive mail perfectly.
Not sure what to do...??

I do not know org.springframework.mail.javamail but if it is a framework, a wrapper around a mail provider, like the standard JavaMail one, the latter must be on the classpath too and maybe it must be registered somehow.
But it is just a guess - I don't know the stuff.

Do not process the undelivered mails-Mail adapter

Hi Experts,
In my scenario, I am using sender mail adapter. PI is successfully polling the mails and sending it to intended recipient.
Now, if the mail is undelivered to recipient then a notification indicating undelivered status will come to sender' s mail box.Next the requirement is, PI should not poll this undelivered message again since it has already polled it once.
Is there any way to do it ,is there any property in mail adapter configuration.

If that option is selected then the mail will be moved to another folder and it will not be available at the second poll..

Snow Leopard / Mail -- mail keeps getting redownloaded and shows as new mai

Hi.
Anyone had this problem? After I upgraded (?) to Snow Leopard, Mail.app now redownloads my mail from multiple IMAP and POP accounts and shows it as new.
This happens at times I cannot predict. I don't see a pattern to when this happens. I can't predict when it will happen.
So at seemingly random times, Mail suddenly shows that I have 400 unread e-mails. Even though these are e-mails I've already dealt with.
Anyone see this before?
Anyone have a solution?

When I try to send a Safari web page via Mail, Mail locks up!

No matter how I try to Email a Safari web page (using the share arrow icon or the mail icon or the File menu), Mail locks up. Then I have to Force Quit Mail and send the report to Apple. There must be a bug somewhere, but I can't figure out where! I have closed and restarted Safari, closed and restarted Mail, restarted my Mac Pro - all to no avail. I have every update installed - and, in fact, the latest update to Mountain Lion is the culprit, as I didn't have this problem before I installed it! Is it possible to uninstall this latest update? Help!!!

You're suffering from two common misconceptions.
