Mail not delivered for 4 hours warning message

I've recently started getting .mac mail bounced back to me from MAIL DELIVERY SUBSYSTEM saying that the message couldn't be delivered for the past 4 hours and would continue trying for 4 days. They never seem to go through.
This only happens with mail to my parents. I can send them mail from a different ISP account, and my husband can send them mail from his .mac account. I have not changed my preferences and neither have they. I would suspect their ISP, except that my husband's .mac mail goes through.
Any idea what the problem might be? Here's the relevant information from the warning message:
<parents' address>...Deferred:Invalid argument
Warnng: message still undelivered after 4 hours
Will keep trying until message is 4 days old
Reporting-MTA: dns; smtpout.mac.com
Action: delayed
Status: 4.4.2

Possible fixes
Clear caches We've received unconfirmed reports that running the maintenance routines offered by AppleJack can resolve some .Mac connectivity issues -- potentially indicating cache corruption as a cause of problems. Cache cleaning can also be accomplished with tools like Cocktail or Tiger Cache Cleaner.
Just restart In other cases, a simple restart can have a beneficial effect. MacFixIt reader Tracey writes:
"I also experienced the .Mac mail connection problem yesterday utilizing Mail.app Version 2.1.1 (752.3). In my case, after a half an hour of being unable to connect, it finally dawned on me to go back to the basics of troubleshooting. After a reboot, and a subsequent relaunch of Mail.app, my .Mac mail became immediately responsive, and has been working without a glitch ever since (24 hours). It was a pretty simple fix in my case (or a serendipitous coincidence of timing)."

My Yahoo account on my Mac Book Pro is not updating, been 5 hours and my iphone and ipad received mail 3 hours ago yet my Windows mail shows mail up to the minute. When I try to refresh, shows loading ALOT but nothing comes through.

I have the same problem with various Yahoo! Mail folders. When I look in my Sent Items folder, the 920 will only show me the emails I sent from my phone. I do not see the emails I sent from my PC.
Also, when I reply to an email on my 920, I can watch the email go to the Outbox and then to the Sent Items folder, but the email never actually goes out. When I go to my PC, it's not in my Sent folder.

Apple Mail Search and Spotlight do not work for locating email messages after upgrading to Lion 10.8.3 on my 27" iMac.
When searching in Apple Mail, sometimes a get a few results (with many missing), and sometimes no results at all.
I had absolutely no problems before with Snow Loepard.
I have reindexed mail and my startup drive. I have followed discussions regarding this matter and tried everything - a waste of time.
This is VERY serious for me - I have many thousands of messages that I archive and need to reference for work and clients, and now I cannot find them.

I found out that I needed a $100 mini displayport to dual-link dvi adapter to make my $30" cinema display work with my macbook pro

When I found out that solved the problem, I took it back because that was too expensive for a stupid adapter, and it still didn't work perfectly.

Mail Activity but mail not delivered

Mail 5.0, Lion
I see Mail Activity (10 messages) but mail not delivered. This repeats at check mail intervals.
It was working fine - and now it doesn't.
Any thoughts?

Mail won't download "undeliverable" warning messages

My employer runs an Exchange server and Mail normally interacts with it ok.
If I send a message which (for whatever reason) doesn't get through, then the Exchange system sends me a message warning me that my original message is undeliverable. And there's the problem: Mail doesn't see these warning messages. The only indication I have is that the unread message count for the account goes up by one but then drops back to zero when I try to see the unread message. I have to go to another mail client to delete these warning messages. Looking at the text of the warning messages, they look just like any other email. I have no filters etc which would stop them from getting through.
Any suggestions please?

If the Exchange server does this in a non-standard way, that could be the cause of the problem, but I don’t really know the details nor how to solve it. Take a look at the following thread:

The other thread you mention in your post appears to be a rules issue. I haven’t replied there because the OP has already stated what the problem probably is, but appears to have done nothing to address it yet...

Is there a way to expand the text area of the login/lock screen for the warning message?

I put our company's standard warning message in the Security & Privacy system preference ("Show a message when the screen is locked.") and it overflowed the allotted text area for the warning message text on the login screen and lock screens. It seems that the area allows about 250 character messages and I need to provide about 500 characters. Is there any way to expand the text area allotted for this purpose?

Mail not checking for new messages in IMAP subfolders

Hello everyone,
I am disappointed to see that Mail version 3.0 (912.1/912) displays the same wrong behavior as pre-Leopard versions in the way that it fails to check for new messages in subfolders on an IMAP account (it only checks the INBOX).
One has to manually open each and every subfolder and wait a few seconds to force a resync and display any new message placed there by server-side rules processing.
So far I had been using the excellent IMAPCheck (http://macapps.perniciouspenguins.com/imapcheck/) but this is no longer supported by 10.5.
Does anybody have a workaround for this? Or the power to bug Apple engineering enough to get this solved once and for all ;o)

This problem is not solved for all cases.
This solution only applies to server-side filtering/redirecting of messages into imap folders.
I'm having trouble with client-side mail.app rules moving new messages into imap folders and not having the new message counts displayed.
This wasn't a problem in the previous version of mail.app.
Here's to hoping that Apple posts a patch to fix this problem soon...

RSPPFPROCESS - mail not triggering for incorrectly processed PO

I tried executing the RSPPFPROCESS by giving a variant but I am not able to get the details of any incorrectly processed purchase orders in the output.
The RSPPFPROCESS program functions in such a way that if a PO is unsuccessfully processed, then on executing the RSPPFPROCESS program with status "Unsuccessfully Processed" a mail will be triggered to the creators whose POs were incorrectly processed.
But this is not happening in my case, the mail is not getting triggered at all.
The variant details are:
Application : BBP_PD
Action Profile : BBP_PD_PO
Action Definition : STANDARD_PO
Promotion status : 2 (ie)incorrectly processed
Processing type : MET
Time of Processing : Processing when saving document
The radio buttons: Ignore "Repeat" flag and Ignore "Generated Manually" flag are checked.
The check box "Number of Actions Outputted" is checked.
Please help.

customer-specific business object related to Purchase Orders which might
be in use. If you disable the event linkage for CREATE and/or change
event, no message will be triggered upon PO creation.
If this is not sufficient for your business process the usual logic is
that all Purchase Order message are being sent out when the event
linkage is active (e.g. you want to send out only some of the message
types possible). In this case you might want to make use of BAdI
PUR_SE_PO_INTERFACE_OUT_SELECT (enhancement spot / BAdI)."

Workflow mail not triggering for PO's to the Manager

Dear Seniors,
I am creating a PO and keeping in hold and later on saving the PO. But for those kind of PO's, the manager is not getting the mail for approval. But if i create a PO without keeping in hold with same data, system is triggering the mail to the manager. Why is it so? how can i make the settings to trigger the mail for hold-saved PO's. Please guide me.

Supplier not intended for purchasing organization message

Hello All,
We are implementing SAP SRM 7.03 with ECC 6.0.
During SC creation stage we are getting a error message, 'Supplier not intended for purchasing organization'
We are with one single purchasing organization, in the supplier search help the purchasing organization field is blank.
In table BBPM_BUT_FRG0061 the purchasing organization is available for all the replicated suppliers. In the org structure maintenance the Purchasing Organization and Purchasing Group functions are responsibility is defined properly.
The observation is in the basic data of the shopping cart, the purchasing organization and purchasing group fields are missing.
Kindly share pointers in resolving this issue.

I have faced similar problem recently, got the same error, however it was configured properly.
Resolved it with setting the message to warning:
Use T.code sm30 - table BBPV_PDMSG check oblect BBP_PD 018 it should be: EWI / E
Than add new entry to table BBPV_PDMSG_CUS for object BUS2000113 it should be
: Message class BBP_PD No 018 type W. Save your changes.
Or you can do the same with SPRO - SRM Server - Cross-application basic settings - Message Control - Influence message control for object BUS2000113.

Mail not delivering to one user

Hi,
I have a 10.5.8 server where mail stopped delivering one user a few days ago. Mail to all other users is fine.
I ran mailbfr to rebuild the user database, then the permissions and finally after those steps didn't work I rebuilt the entire database. I can see 160 messages in queue for the user but they all have temporary failure listed on them.
Any ideas would be appreciated?

Increase logging level for IMAP to "Debug".
/var/log/mailaccess.log should then give you clues as to what is broken.
