Mail not responding at all
On all of my machines I do encounter the same problem. When I open the mail program my mail is unresponsive. Sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes forever. It is that bad that I am seriously considering throwing mail out for once and for ever. the only think that is stopping me is that I am using Daylite Mail integration and therefore it is not that easy to migrate to entourage or another emailer.
I have around 50 different email accounts, I am a mobile me user and the problem is occurring on all of my machines running Snow Leopard. Throwing out the RSS files from the Library do not help, rebuilding the mail envelope does make a difference for just one single start up of my machine. Removing the mail.plist is done several times. I have used the Vacuum command and everything else I can think of.
If I reinstall snow Leopard and when I do not run the security upgrade the problem does not seem to occur, at least not with the same severe delays. Any ideas out there?
The problem is happening on all of my Intel machines that are upgraded. In this moment the problem occurs on an Imac 27" Quad Core, with 8GB Memory, 2 TB drive, 2.8GHZ processor. All of my intel machines are less than one year old and are well maintained.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

When I open my Mail program over the last few days it does nothing - does not even show the Mail Message Window. I have to Force Quit (message says Mail Not Responding). This happens over and over again. I used Disk Utility to check preferences and repaired all (not much there and nothing relating to Mail). Still won't work. In general Apple Mail has not been working well for awhile that along with MobileMe... delivering multiple emails of the same message and loosing Sent messages. What is happening to this program? Do I have to use Microsoft Office to find a dependable eMail Client software? As it stands I have started using Office on our other computers just so we can receive our email and not worry about loosing or storing Sent and Received Mail.
I am running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 on my workstation. I have Snow Leopard ready to install but was waiting to complete time critical work before installing new system software - perhaps that will be the answer to the problem(?). Anyone having this problem and if so - have you found a solution?
Note: I do receive mail on my iPhone and on iPad thankfully using Apple's Mail program but those are mobile devices - we require dependable email to run our business on our desktops.Mail in Leopard should not have such problems. Disk Utility repairs permissions, not preferences. I'm assuming your only e-mail account is with Mobileme?

ive been ahving mail problems since beginning. one hting get s dfixed wiht mulitple genius appts then anohter .

tough to force quit it.

wish i'd bought a dell.I've got something similar but not with a trackpad/multitouch, with any mouse, Mail does not activate if i click the Dock icon, nor inside the window, cmd-tab doesn't either. It's kind of a trick to get it active and it does this since some 10.7 update. Thought it would be solved in 10.8 no luck for me. And yes sometimes, it doesn't even fetch mail!!!

My mail system on my desktop has stopped working all I get is the spinning wheel nothing works at all. I then have to force quit mail and see the message Mail not responding. I have tried opening mail from the application folder but get the same result. Mail within Mobileme works perfectly. The only thing I can think I have done recently was to update mobileme calendar since then Mail has stopped working. Any suggestions appreciated thanks. I am using OSX 10.4.11 on the Powerbook.

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index

I booted up this morning to find my voice over feature active. A black bar was at the lower left corner of my screen. When I began to click on the users in my login window it would not respond. All that I saw was the black bar saying authentication busy. I was not able to restart, I was not able to switch users, I was not able to shut down. I decided to manually shut down my Mac. when it booted back up I was looking at the disk utility screen. When I clicked on repair or race it indicated that my hard drive had already been arranged. I was looking at completely formatted drive and I was having to either restore from Time Machine or reinstall lion. I had a back up but why did this happen?
A possible workaround could be to have the horizontal scroll bar visible all the time.

my keyboard on macbook pro (laptop) is acting weird. One key is not responding at all. Have verified using Keyboard viewer and some other keys are printing the unresponsive character at random. "z" is the unresponsive character.
Is it a damaged keyboard ?
The laptop is just 2 months old, will Apple replace it with a new one if its indeed a damaged keyboard or just repair, I use it for official purposes so being without a laptop is not much of an option.No one here works for Apple, so we don't know what Apple might or might not do. If it's a genuine defect, they will of course repair it under warranty. It is not their responsibility if it effects your ability to work or not, so that's on you.
If, however, they determine that the key is problematic as a result of your misuse of the laptop, then everything is on you. And trust me, if they find a glob of dried up beer or coffee there, they will charge you.
Your only choice is to take it in for repair. -

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
Okay so my ipod 5th generation, isnt turning on at all. It isnt charging either, its not responding at all. Now I cant restart it because my home button is broken. So what do i do? I cant buy another one, N couldnt back it up on i Cloud. so help . this had happened to me before, so i left my ipod on the charger all day and left it alone and later that night turned on. but this time that didn't work. but this time i kept trying to turn it on while it was on the charger. i need this ipod. only this one. so please help

photoshop elements is not responding at all. it will not open images. it will not process multiple images.
Try to reset the preferences :

On iPad, control center won't work; music buttons do not respond AT ALL. What can I do?
I have an iPad 3, and the control center is giving me a hard time, both, within app access and on lock screen and it's only the music controls in particular; play, next, and previous buttons will not respond at all. Anyone having the same issues? If so, any suggestions to work this out? I already tried turning off and on, form control center settings.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.
