Mail & Notification Center not working

Not getting any alerts/badges when receiving mail via the Mac Mail application. Here's everything I have done tested so far:
- tested by sending email from another account, not via the mac mail app
- uninstalled Growl, rebooted then reinstalled Growl
- opened Notification Center prefs and turned all off, rebooted then turned all on
- Made sure that Gen Prefs in Mail app have notifications set for any mailbox...also tested with inbox only
- set mail account to POP and IMAP with same result
I've made sure Mail was running in the background and still no notification when Mail arrives. Also disabled my mail acct and added an iCloud account and still no new notifications.
Am I missing something?

Thanks andregotz for your suggestion. I removed my personal email adress from Adressbook and all new mail now appears in NC. That is to say, when the mail app IS running. It would be nice to receive a notification in NC for new mail when the mail app is NOT running! Calendar works that way too. I receive notifications in NC for every new calendar item even when the calendar app is not running.

    E-mail notification does not work. Test message fails, like everyone else. Is that possible? Someone else had this problem?

     Hello gusev67
    Have you tried with/without custom email notification (SMTP) settings?
    Have you checked if the defaut or custom SMTP port has been forwarded to your px12?
    Have you checked if your ISP is blocking SMTP ports for your connection?

  • Notification center not working (iOS 5.0.1)

         Hello Guys, the notification center was working okay on my iPod from 4th Gen. but these days it stopped working and I just get notifications from e-mail (when I get in the app), weather, stock, reminders. It happened some time after using iOS 5.0.1.
         I know the configs for notifications are all right and I already tried to restore it without backup 3 times, it's just driving me crazy. All the others apps such as eBuddy, Facebook, Twitter doesn't send me notifications and at least Facebook and eBuddy used to.
         Can someone please help me? I also have the battery issue and I'm waiting for an update.
    PS: I already used another iPod on the same network and it received the notifications normally, I even compared the settings.
    Thank you since now.

    P.S. (Sorry, new to the forum): I already looked a million times in google and in this forum and I couldn't find any answers to this problem (the reason why I came here). I could set Facetime and iMessage to work before but after the restore I can't do it anymore, Viber also ask me to enable Push Notifications when it's already enabled. No notifications appears to me, for example when you are using eBuddy and you exit and use app, a notification to a new conversation appears to you or when you receive a Mention on twitter.

  • Twitter share button in notification center not working?

    I finally got my code for my free upgrade to Mountain Lion... I updated my computer last night and everything seems to be working well.  Other than the fact that they decided to leave the Facebook integration out without saying anything until last minute (that's the feature I was really looking forward to).  But anyway I woke up this morning and I went to send a tweet from the notification center.  The button is there but when I click it nothing happens.  I've removed my twitter account and readded it.  i checked the box to remove the share button and readded.  I restarted my computer twice and nothing... Anyone have any ideas?

    I know the ans...first install os x mountain lion again above all your installation..then see the build it should be.. (12c60) then..update every thing..but dont install or update..."update for macbook pro and macbook air 2.0 "it is the culprit ...then hide that update..and remember to install offline version of combo and supplement update 10.8.2..ok..as sometimes when ur notification cetre not work then installoffline "combo and supp" updates...ok..REMEMBER NOT TO INSTALL MACBOOK AIR AND MACBOOK PRO 2.0 UPDATE...PLZ...AND USE UR SYSTEM...!! follow me https://www.twitter.com/ankit8083   https://www.facebook.com/ankit8083...good luck..DONT CHANGE UR BUILD..AS IF U WILL CHANGE IT THEN UR SHARE BUTTON WILL NOT WORK..IN NEW BUILD..!!And wait for apple to get new build after april 2013...but not download macbook pro and macbook air 2.0 update..which help in graphical improvements and some usb devices...!!

  • Why is notification center not working for mail?

    Im not receiving mail on notification center, why is that happening?

    Good, glad it worked.
    If you find you're getting too many notifications and get fed up, you can set it in Mail to VIP (smart mailbox).
    You can make people VIPs by clicking the star symbol in front of their names and Notification Center will only notify you about emails from these certain people.

  • Notification Center not working for Mail

    Notification Center doesn't give me a banner or a sidebar entry when I recieve an incoming e-mail message. The problem persists regardless of whether the Mail app is open or closed. I have checked my settings in both System Preferences and in Mail. What gives?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Facebook Share from Safari and Notification Center Not Working

    So, for a couple of days now I haven't been able to share a website to Facebook using the share button in Safari or post a status update via the Notification Center. I do not recieve any sort of error messages. Nothing happens at all when I click on the necessary buttons to post or share. I do get Facebok notifications that show up as a banner and also in the notification center. Here's what I've done:
    - deleted and readded my Facebook account in Mail, Contacts, & Calendars in the System Prefrences Pane
    - Reset Safari
    - Cleared all website data from Safari
    - Tried in a different user - Issue Persisted (so, it seems to be a system wide problem)
    I'm not sure what else I can do. I am definitely logged in with all the correct data for Facebook. I did do the software update last week (10.8.3) but am unsure whether it worked after installing it. Any ideas?

    Try booting into the Safe Mode.  Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Email notification center not working on iPhone5

    My email notification center on the new iPhone5 does not appear to be responding to changes that I make.
    For example.  Whenever I'm at the office, I don't need my phone to notify me of every email that comes in.  So I go into NOTIFICATIONS, EMAIL, and I turn "notification center" off.  I also switch the alert style to NONE.  However, I still see my phone light up whenever a new email comes through and the alert shows on the middle of the screen.
    I've discovered that if I power cycle the phone, SOMETIMES, the setting will take.
    I've gone from Blackberry to Android, and now to iPhone.  The one feature that the BB did have which I loved was that you could very easily set all of your ringtones, alerts, etc... based upon a predifined notificatios app.  for instance, If I chose 'Office", my phone would be set to vibrate for incoming calls and text messages, but nothing else.  If picked "Home" it would ring for everything (phone calls, text messages, email, FaceBook, etc...).  If I picked "Sleeping" it would would ring Only incoming calls and text messages.
    I see that iPhone has attempted to do this with the DO NOT DISTURB option.  I can quickly turn everything off with the exception of incoming calls.  It would be nice if this option was more advanced and allowed me to set how I want each of my notifications to work, depending on which setting i picked.
    I'm curiose as to whether or not any apps exist to allow this functionality.  I have not been able to find one.

    Well, I have a plain question for EVERYONE here:
    Do you see the same Notification Center on the Lock Screen as in the Home Screen?
    Do you? Anyone?
    Apple: make sure you work on this stuff really fast, it's very anoing what you are doing here. I need the NotificationCenter on the LockScreen, with the Favorites contacts there too. Just learn from the jailbreak software, NOW !
    I bet it's not a mistake, it's just the way Apple think it's better for me. They are so smart they know what's better for me all the time. Just plain WRONG !!!

  • Mountain Lion notification center not working.

    After getting Mountain Lion installed and notification center setup, I only receive notifications for Twitter and Reminders.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Facebook, Mail, Messages, and all the others are not alerting and are not showing up when I open the right sidebar.

    I just did a clean install of Mountain Lion and I thought that my issue with this had something to do with it.  One thing is that my notification center for Facebook doesn't have all of the options that the OP's center has:
    I deleted the PreferencePane for Notification and reinstalled 10.8.2 but I still get this result.  No sound in Notifications on the Mac or my iPhone for Facebook.

  • HT3576 Notification Center not working in Mountain Lion

    Just upgraded to Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air.  Set up iCloud account.  Configured Notification alerts.  But, no notifications appearing in the Notification Center.  When I open up Reminders, I do get reminders that I've made via my iPad.  But, these updated reminders don't show in the Notification Center panel.  Suggestions?

  • Mail Notification service not working...

    Hi,
    I'm doing a very (very very) simple program to send a notification by mail. Reads the data from Input and send it by mail. I've already configured the file ns_emails.xml:
    <EmailAccounts xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/pcbpel/NotificationService"
    EmailMimeCharset=""
    NotificationMode="EMAIL">
    <EmailAccount>
    <Name>Default</Name>
    <GeneralSettings>
    <FromName>Oracle BPM</FromName>
    <FromAddress>[email protected]</FromAddress>
    </GeneralSettings>
    <OutgoingServerSettings>
    <SMTPHost>dlsun4254.us.oracle.com</SMTPHost>
    <SMTPPort>225</SMTPPort>
    </OutgoingServerSettings>
    <IncomingServerSettings>
    <Server>dlsun4254.us.oracle.com</Server>
    <Port>2110</Port>
    <Protocol>pop3</Protocol>
    <UserName>bpm1</UserName>
    <Password ns0:encrypted="false" xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/pcbpel/NotificationService">welcome</Password>
    <UseSSL>false</UseSSL>
    <Folder>Inbox</Folder>
    <PollingFrequency>1</PollingFrequency>
    <PostReadOperation>
    <MarkAsRead/>
    </PostReadOperation>
    </IncomingServerSettings>
    </EmailAccount>
    </EmailAccounts>
    and configured also the file users-properties.xml:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <principalObjects xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/services/IdentityService"
         targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/services/IdentityService" >
    <userObject>
         <name>cdickens</name>
    <description>Demo User</description>
         <email>[email protected]</email>
         <title>CEO</title>
         <firstName>Charles</firstName>
         <lastName>Dickens</lastName>
    <timeZone>America/Los_Angeles</timeZone>
         <languagePreference>en-US</languagePreference>
         <notificationPreferences>Mail</notificationPreferences>
    </userObject>
    </principalObjects>
    But the big problem happens when I drop the notification "Email" activity between the invoke and receive activities... the notification activity doesn't connect to notificationService (Partner Link) and sometimes I open the notification activity and the sub-activities are gone and appear the message: "Drop activity here".
    Before I've made a program to invoke a database and return the data so I could send it by email and the result (InvokeNotificationService) was:
    Invoked 2-way operation "sendEmailNotification" on partner "NotificationService"

    Can you help me?

    What version are you on, if you are not on 10.1.3.3 then you will need to apply some patches to get this working. I think there are 2, sorry don't have the off hand. If you do an advanced search on Metalink you should find them. I would recommend upgrading to 10.1.3.3 though.
    what happend when you execute the command
    telnet dlsun4254.us.oracle.com 225
    You should get a lank screen. If nt you haven't established a connection to the email server, either the port or the server is worng.
    Are there any errors in the domain.log?
    Are you getting any errors in the in the BPEL process itself.
    cheers
    James

  • Mail notification sound not working on iphone

    My email notification sound doesn't work until I open the mail app. THEN I get the sound.  Using iPhone 5s - iOS7, of course.  Any ideas?

    Settings>Mail>Fetch New Data>Select mail account you would like>Select Fetch
    View Fetch schedule at the bottom of the previous page, select time (longer time preserve battery and use less data).

  • Question on Mail, notifications are not working

    I have 3 email accounts in Mail on my MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4. iPad and iPhone are working perfectly, zero issues. The MacBook is the one with the issues. My GMail account and work email are great, when I get a new email, it shows me "1" for one new email, or "4" for four new emails, they both work like they should. My iCloud account is the one with the issue. It ALWAYS says "1", like I have one new email. It will say this whether there is zero new emails, zero emails period, or 10 new emails. It just started today and I can't figure it out. Erased all the emails, still says "1", went to iCloud.com, no emails there, iPad and iPhone, no emails there, just the Mac thinks there is always one new email for iCloud only. Any thoughts besides the basics of restarting the application and computer? Thanks.

    My iCloud account is the one with the issue.
    Open System Preferences > iCloud
    Deselect the box next to:  Mail & Notes then reselect it then restart your Mac.

  • Push notifications WhatsApp not work.

    Push notifications WhatsApp not work. I only receive them when I open the app. I've checked the settings on iOs and Whatsapp and all is ok. I've also updated to the latest versions. Can you help me?

    I actually did, and here is the answer I received:
    "When you are sent a message in WhatsApp, but are not online to receive it, WhatsApp will automatically send your message to the Apple Push Notification Service (APNS). This allows an alert containing the message to be displayed, even when WhatsApp is closed or your phone's display is off. Most often, all that is needed to resolve notification issues is to ensure that all notification settings are enabled. Review these FAQ pages for troubleshooting steps:
    Notifications Troubleshooting
    Connection Troubleshooting
    Sending your message to APNS typically takes only a few milliseconds. Once your message is sent to APNS, any delays or failure to deliver the message as a push notification to your device are usually caused by issues with your phone or network connection. Currently, all of our systems are operating normally.
    If you are using iOS 7, and are confident that you have all push notification settings enabled in WhatsApp and the iPhone Notification Center, then there is likely an issue with your phone that WhatsApp cannot resolve for you. In this case, I recommend the following steps:
    Backup your entire phone to iCloud.
    After the backup is complete, Erase all content and settings.
    Continue setting up your phone as a new device (do not restore from the iCloud backup).
    Install WhatsApp and verify that push notifications are working correctly (have someone send you a few test messages while your phone's display is turned off).
    Erase all content and settings and restore from the iCloud backup. "
    I tried to delete everything from my iPhone and then restore my data with the backup on my computer but it did not change anything, I still can't receive any notification, unless I open the application... However, I restored immediatly my backup cause I was afraid it wouldn't work after, but I don't really think it would change something to first start as a new device and then erase all content again and restore it.
