Mail notification sound missing?

Hi every one, this is regarding the mail notification sound in Mail application of Mac OS X Mountain Lion.
I've configured in setting of the inbox account of mail to notify with sound whenever I recieve a new email, but unfortunately it's not happening.
So what's the remedy for the concern???

HI,
For most apps the Alert Sounds are played by System Preferences > Sound Sound Effects where the volume needs to be high enough.

Can someone confirm that this has been broken in SP1 or do I have a misconfiguration on my servers?

    Hi Daniel,
To add the NewMailNotification event, you need to make changes to the registry.

Mailbeep , and then press ENTER.
    6.
With the Key Mailbeep selected, on the Edit menu, click
    New and select String Value.
    7.
With New String Value #1 selected, type

  • Outlook 2013 new mail notification sounds can't be changed

I've got a weird issue with Outlook 2013 on Windows 8..  I've read several other posts that are kind of similar but they don't really apply.
So, Outlook 2013 uses the "Desktop Mail Notification" sound event..  unless I change the .wav file assigned to that event.  Then it instead uses the "New Mail Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned
to THAT one, it changes again to instead use the "Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned to "Notification," Outlook just won't play anything at all when receiving new mail.  It just flat refuses to use
anything but the default .wav files.
Has anyone run into this before?

    Hi,
To change the new mail notification sound, please try the following:
    1. Right click the sound icon at the right bottom to open the sound settings.
    2. Under the
Windows section, change both the Desktop Mail Notification and New Mail Notification
events to have the same .wav file for the sound you want played for them.
    3. Then click OK to test the result.
    Thanks,

  • HT1146 I want to hear the mail notification sounds. How can I get the sounds to stay active?

I am unable to keep the mail notification sounds on mail. No message notification, nothing. I have already had two consultations with mac service personnel. Any suggestions?

I also wanted to know, if I can assign my JV1080 to the audio Instrument tracks & manupilate both sound source. WOW that be great if Logic Pro can do this.
If you mean play them back with the same MIDI information, and have the MIDI channel set up to control the external JV1080, yes you can. But if you mean control the Audio levels and such, I would recommend bringing the JV1080 back into logic on a Stereo input and grouping it with the Audio Instrument.
I have the o/p of the md player going into tape i/p of the mackie 1202- VLZPRO.
I believe the Tape inputs of a Mackie board goes straight to the output faders. Try another set of inputs.

  • Mail notification (sound) will not change

I cannot seem to get the mail sound to change (on my iPhone5) from the sound I had on my 4s (backed up and reloaded through iCloud).
I have changed the sound in "settings" and regardless of that sound is chosen, the "News Flash" WILL.NOT.GO.AWAY
I even changed it to "None" and the "News Flash" sound still chimes.
    Anyone have this issue?

Ok so the first things that you would need to determine are as follows:  This is the best way to get this to test and see if it works for you.   First things first, set aside all the notes on configurations that you would need for 2 Accounts to configure with email.  Prior to doing this, do the reset as listed above in the directions of this post's reply.  Once you have it reset, then do the following steps:
    1.   First , set the mail notification Sound by going to Settings > Sounds > Mail , and change this here to something other than default.
    2.  Add your first email account first to the phone using the Mail Accounts and do New.  Once you have added the new account, just this first one, send a mail message to it from a PC/MAC and test to see if the sound is working other than the default meaning the sound you changed it to.
    3.  Once you have conifrmed that it's working this way, next you will need to do, is add the 2nd account to the phone, and test that you can get mail on it.
    4.  Now that you have both accoutns, you can go into Settings>Notifications>Mail>and you will see both accounts listed there .   For me it's : Exchange, LiveMail, Icloud in that order.   All of these are clickable with touch.
5  Touch one of them it will open the menu to allow you to change notifications including sounds.
CHANGE all 3 accounts sounds using step 4 listed and then after you have done this for each of them accounts, test by sending emails to them.
Let me know if you need help.
    Thanks.

  • Turn off new mail notification sound for a particular folder?

Is there any way to turn off new mail notification sound for a particular folder? I want new mail sound for my in box and most other folders but for example when I filter high-volume mail lists into a sub folder I don't want the new mail sound to play.

  • Mail notification sound not working on iphone

My email notification sound doesn't work until I open the mail app. THEN I get the sound.  Using iPhone 5s - iOS7, of course.  Any ideas?

Settings>Mail>Fetch New Data>Select mail account you would like>Select Fetch
View Fetch schedule at the bottom of the previous page, select time (longer time preserve battery and use less data).

  • Mac OS X Mail Notification Sound

In Mac OS X Yosemite, when the Mail app receives an email, the notification comes first and after 10-20sec later the notification sound comes. This has happened for some time now, thinking after few updates that Yosemite had would fix this issue.
Is this happening to anyone else? And if so, is there a solution to this fix.

In Snow Leopard (haven't back to check Leopard again) you have two places to check what has been selected. First, in Mail Preferences/General what is selected regarding the New Message Sound? Secondly, in System Preferences/Sound/Sound Effects you also need to make the desired selection, and confirm the Alert Volume setting. It is the settings in System Preferences that I cannot remember whether they were the same in Leopard.

  • How do I change my mail notification sounds?

I saw on the preferences that I can change the sound that plays when I receive a new email but I also want a sound to play when I send one. There is a check box that says something like "use this sound for all mail notifications". but there is no drop box to pick a sound for a different mail function. Any help on this one?

there is no built in function to change it but if you really want it you can hack it as follows.
right-click on Mail on /Applications and choose "Show package contents". go to Contents->Resources. Find the file "Mail Sent.aiff" and replace it with the one you want. Give it the same name. It has to be in aiff format.
    P.S. Beaten to the punch...

Hi, I upgraded to OS X Yosemite yesterday and when my Mail notifications come through I only get the banner no sound.  I have turned on the sound preference in my the Mail preferences and the Notification Centre preferences.  Is there any other way to get the sound working for these notifications.  All my other notifications that come through have the sound as well.
    Thanks.  JV.

  • Mail Notification Sound Incorrect

I did a hard reset (Lock + Home Button) this morning because the phone was becoming laggy and sluggish.  After coming back up, all of my notification sounds were incorrect.  I checked settings, and they all still said they were the ones I picked, though they all played as if default settings were in place.
I went ahead and set them all again, and everything so far seems right except for the Mail notification, which refuses to use the one I have selected.  I have set it in Settings > Sounds > New Mail, and also verified it is set correctly at Settings > Notifications > Mail < [Account Name].

    HI,
For most apps the Alert Sounds are played by System Preferences > Sound Sound Effects where the volume needs to be high enough.

  • Mail notification sounds even on mute.

Hello. Recently my iPhone 5s started to make notification sounds when I got a new mail. Even when the phone is on mute. Im using Apple´s mail client. Got 2 mail accounts connected to the mail client. Both makes sounds when I recieve new mail. Have been google about simular problem but only find solutions when people uses Gmail and there own mail client.
Im using IOS 7.1.1 and iPhone 5s.
    Best regards Pelle

Thank you Chris for your reply and time.
I feel really ashamed. Easiest way to solve my problem was to keep track on my iPad.
My girlfriends brother have been at my place and have been using my iPad. He did put it behind the couch where I have been sitting and watched tv and when google my problem with my phone. When I was going to check if the iPad did behave the sameway as the phone I didnt find it. So used "find my iPad" and there it was, right behind my back and with the sound on.
    Have a great day! =)

  • Facebook notification sound missing

My iphone 4 does not make a notification sound from facebook. My 3g on ios4 is still has it. All notification settings I can see have been set to on. Anyone else?

This has become kind of wide spread. A lot of people are continuing to blame it on the app, but with everything I have done to my phone I can't continue to think it is the app. Allow me to clarify a little. This happened to me about 3 days ago and it is still happening. I have reset, restored, cleared everything you can think of. I have checked all settings in app and on device. I have even gone as far as extracting older versions of facebook from my itune saves and downgraded the actual FB app. I started with FB v5... After all was said and done I have ended up with FB v3.1.2. Yeah went back pretty far. I would guess if it was an app issue that when an older working version was reinstalled that it shoud work, right? So I am starting to think it is a problem with IOS 5.1.1 communicating with FB. I am guessing it has something to do with the integration of FB in IOS 6. This is just my though. Could be wrong, but after trouble shooting for 3 days its the only logical explanation I can come up with. I would think now that apples forums are popping up with this problem pretty rapidly now that the ywould come out and say something. Knowing apple though they will just wait til the 19th, cross their fingers, and hope they don't have to deal with the masses.

  • Cannot turn off new mail notification sound

    Hi,
I've set all notifications for mail to be off under System Preferences > Notifications. As of right now I have Mail showing under "not in notification center" yet the "ding" sound continues to happen each time I get a new email. If someone could please tell me what I might be missing, or if this is a bug I would really aprpeciate it.
    Thanks,
    Steve
