Mail on iPad (and iPhone) shows only old emails

Hello.
I have migrated all my gmail emails into @me.com iCloud account. After this, on my mobile devices I can only see a few recent emails and a bunch of old emails (like the once I received in 2008 & 2009). Inbox is like this:
2012: 5/6 emails
2011: 20/25 emails
2010: 150 emails
2009: 500 emails
2008: 300 emails
Sent folder is correctly shown from the most recent sent to the oldest.
Mail on MacBook shows everything as it should be.
I hope someone of you could help me to understand what's wrong.

Set up your email as an IMAP account.Your email provider must support IMAP for this to work.

You can't do it on the iPad you would need to do it on your computer and the folder will be seen by your account on the iPad and iPhone only if they are IMAP and Exchange accounts. POP accounts are not supported for folders.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

I have an Ipad, Iphone and PC. I have Icloud on the devices. My Ipad and Iphone show all my calendars and the PC will only show one calendar. This just changed recently - why I don't know. How can I get my PC/Icloud connection to show all calendars?

Searching Mail on iPad and iPhone

Both in my iPad and iPhone searching Mail only brings up emails that I've sent. Why can't I find emails from others?

If you want to search in your incoming mailbox, select the email account you want or select All Inboxes if you have multiple email accounts. Then type your search keywords in the inbox. See the diagram below:

How can I get back to syncing my Ipad, and Iphone 4 the old fashion way

I have installed upgraded itunes, upgraded my Iphone operation system to 5.1, and installed Icloud. This is where the problems all began.
Icloud and I have everything (contacts, calendar events, photos) so messed up, it would take a Apple Surgeon to fix it all. Is there a way to start over and go back to syncing my ipad, and iphone with itunes....it was sooooo easy and all units were the same.
If I connect today, USB to computer and itunes, it will sync however add duplicates everywhere? I just wanna go home ! Removing Icloud from all three devices, Computer, Ipad 2, and Iphone 4

Pictures are not stored in iTunes.
Any pictures taken with the device, like with any other digital camera, are designd to be copied off the device to the computer on a regular basis. Via iTunes, pictures that the user chooses to have on the device can be synced back.
As Ralph stated, updating iTunes will not affect the media in the library. That being said, it has always been very basic to maintain a backup of important files. If you do not currently have a backup of your important files, I would strongly encourage you to make one.

Just a historical note of interest, Yahoo Mail was one of the first IMAP Push providers on the original iphone, so they did at one time support IMAP. My guess is you will have to get the server settings from tech support, which you are paying for.
But the gmail app is called gmail :-) and the technology that allows you to link it to a domain is known as google apps. (www.google.com/apps).
But I would call Yahoo tech support and ask them what the proper way to set it up on an ipad or iphone is.
If you built your website using Yahoo tools (ie. their website builder), you may find it difficult to move.

I have set up 4 email accounts. Two are gmail and they show only old messages in sent folder - even when messages have been sent from this ipad.

Substitute whatever your email account's name is where it states Comcast and see if this helps. The settings would be the same on an IPad as on an iPhone.
Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>and select the Comcast account. From there look at the Outgoing Mail Server. It shoudl list the Comcast SMTP server. Touch that button and it will take you to another settings page for SMTP. It will show you the Primary SMTP server along with other SMTP servers. If the gmail server is listed there, then you can touch on it and turn it off. That should take care of it. The iPhone will try and use the SMTP server you have listed for a particular mail account, however, if that server is unavailable, it will take the next one on the SMTP list until it gets to one it can use.

Mac, iPad and iPhone show different iCloud Drive content

I'm getting mad about iCloud drive.
For hours I try to get all my devices in sync. But they all show different content. In Finder I can see only 4 app folders containing the documents (actually pages, keynote, numbers and pdfexpert). Browsing the iCloud drive on the iPad for example using the pages app I can also see a GoodReader folder and some more. Some of them are empty folders (maybe empty folders are hidden on mac by default?) but some of them contain folders and files which obviously won't download to my Mac.
There are also some folders related to apps I removed from all my devices. It's ok if these app's iCloud folders stay in the cloud if they contain any documents but they stay there even if they are empty and there seems to be no way to remove these folders manually (even the web interface of iCloud greys out the trash when such a folder is selected).
When I use OS X Preferences to remove some old app's iCloud content I can do this for some of them but then (all of a sudden - can be after two of ten removals) the list on the left side shows only "Backups" (or sometimes "Backups" and an unspecific "Documents") and you have to close the Preferences and reopen it a little later to see the complete list again. And showing the app icons seems to be a problem too (including the iPad / iPhone preferences -> iCloud) - some of them are shown, for some of them there are only placeholders.
Am I doing it wrong or are these common problems?

Same problem here – specifically, the CONTENTS of "iCloud Drive" are different when accessed:
A) in the Finder on Yosemite
B) on the web at iCloud.com
C) on an iOS device
The MAJOR problem for me is that my Goodreader folder only shows up on the iOS device, making it impossible for me to access my Goodreader files. This is a huge issue for me as my workflow depends on having access to those files.
In general, however, it's ridiculous that you can copy data to iCloud Drive on your iOS device and then you cannot read that data anywhere else.

External HD connected to my AirPort Extreme...Can it be shared by iPads and iPhones, or only by a full computer?

The question pretty much states it...My vision when I chose and purchased this router was to make use of an existing hard drive by connecting it USB creating a network drive. So far, the only use I am really getting from it is the daily Time Capsule backup. Though it DOES function as a network drive from my MacBook, my dream was to utilize it for storing my movie collection and be able to watch them from an iPad or iPhone. What it looks like, after having the drive connected and active for a while now, is that only the computer will ever be able to access it. Am I correct that this my only option, or is there some voodoo that will also allow use of the drive from the more mobile devices as well? Also, if I had instead purchased the AirPort Time Capsule with built-in HD, would it have been more suited to my intent of creating a "movie hub"? Thanks.

You can share files with iOS devices by using filebrowser or other file app.
To play movies on the iOS device though you would need a player that is outside of itunes.. because itunes will not play from the router.. it has no media extensions.. neither does the TC which merely adds an internal disk but is otherwise identical.
So look up how to play movies with a player on the iOS.. there is several available I am sure.

BUT itunes depends on a computer running in the network.. so storing the itunes library on the AE is useless.. and will slow the network down no end. It is much better to put files where they can be accessed.. ie directly on the computer.

Once I leave a wifi area the iPhone will send the email or I can connect the ipad to the iPhone and send it. I need to fix this before I go abroad.

IPhone showing New Old emails...?

Hi,
This last week something strange has been happening my iPhone. I had 2 old emails in my inbox that I kept for reference (they had links), then a few days ago I got 19 new emails and once I opened my inbox I realized that they were emails from the last 2 weeks that i'd already opened, read and deleted from both my iPhone and on my Hotmail inbox on my laptop.
The same thing has happened again this morning, 16 new emails that I deleted last week... anybody know what's going on? it's happened 3 times over this last week.

Yes! I've been using gmail on my iPhone 3G for a while now, and without problems. I have started syncing calendar and contacts using Google's Exchange server (m.google.com) which is also brilliant.
However, I picked up the news that Hotmail now offers POP for free so I thought I would give that a bash. Apparently it's not available in South Africa yet, so I deleted that. That was about two hours ago.
Now, every time I go into my inbox it seems that my messages are multiplying! First there were 3 identical copies (same sender, subject, time, content) of each, then 5, and now it's well over 10 copies!
I've checked gmail online and that looks normal, gmail in my Outlook is fine too. It's pretty annoying though - does anyone have an idea as to what this might be?
