Mail stuck in out box

I switched to roadrunner.com and created a new message going to all 500 addresses in my address book. It wouldn't send using the roadrunner, so I resent using old earthlink.com smtp which worked. But now the one created using roadrunner.com smtp is stuck. it always opens when I open mail, but I have to force quit Mail every day to close my computer. I have tried to move it to trash etc. but nothing works. I can send other messages with roadrunner. Message says cannot send using roadrunner server. help please!

Hello, no this doesn't work. I cannot save it as a draft or save in trash, nor move to any other mailbox, nor delete in any way; the only way to actually close mail is to force quit because of this message...any other suggestions? Maybe I will have to uninstall mail and reinstall, ugh.
thanks, ann

  • Why are sent emails from mac mail going to out box and message saying cannot connect to ATT server?

I receive emails via ATT to my mac mailbox. But when I send an email it goes to the out box and I get a message that it cannot connect to the server?
The genius bar said that APPLE and ATT were working on this, but very frustrating. Any suggestions?

Same is happening with me.  Was having intermittent DSL service - called AT&T to rectify.
After the internet was back up and running, I could no longer send outgoing mail from my Mac Mail 5.3 application.  I didn't change any settings or update any software, yet the IT person i was talking to (the same who corrected my internet issue) was saying it was a Mail problem.
I disagree considering it was working 1/2 hour before we started our conversation!
    Any insight would be helpful.
Definitely set up the way AT&T suggested!

  • Work flow mails are not coming to inbox but coming to out box in quality

    Hello,
We are working on the implementation of Work flow for Purchase orders.
Work flow customization is completed and even work flow is triggering when ever I create Purchase Order.
Even Agent assignment also completed for work flow tasks via T code PTFC_CHG.
This work flow is working fine in development.
When I moved this workflow to quality I got a problem.
Problem here is Work flow mails are not processing out of SAP Outbox to approvers  inbox even also after executing the program RSWUWFML2.
When I triggered the PO in development the work item is moved to SAP out box as well as inbox. In quality It is not coming to SAP inbox.
If I check in SOST,I will not see any of the entries related to work flow mails.
Only above I can see in my SAP Outbox.
So how can I Process these messages to approvers SAP Inbox.
Any body please help me where the problem is
    With regards,
    Sudhakar

    Hi SP,
I may be wrong, but on reading ur thread, I feel u r mis interpreting SAP Outbox with Outlook.
Is it so, because u have mentioned about RSWUWFML2 and SOST, which comes into picture only if u r using an external mail like Outlook.
If its Outlook, then there is no doubt that ur work item would get deleted from SAP Inbox and would be present only in Outlook.
If its SAP Outbox, then u r not supposed to get ur work item in ur Outbox unless it is processed or executed thru ur SAP Inbox.
    Hope it helps.

  • Mail out box not sending but iPad is

    hi
I am getting a strange problem, the out box of mail is not sending out but my iPad that is connected to the same router is sending out an dI am receving the messages send to myself are coming in mail on my iMac.

If mail is being receieved but will not send then there is a possibility the iMac has a corrupt mail preference. You can first restart in Safe Mode, this will reset some caches. If the problem persists then go to Mail-Prefences-Accounts-Select the account that is having the problem- and then re-enter all preferences. A corrupt preference may appear OK which is why it needs to be re-entered.
If you don't know how to restart in Safe Mode, hold down the Shift key when you hear the Startup tone until a progress bar appears. After restarting in Safe Mode then restart normally.

  • Mail Different under Tiger NO OUT BOX

After upgrading to Tiger I have found Mail not to have an Out Box or a progress bar at bottom of window like the older version.
It is difficult to monitor mail progress of large files. I know the activity window can be pulled out but it is not as elegant as the old system.
    Im I missing something?
Have I not set up mail properly in Preferences?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Your welcome.
But I still have no OUT BOX when I send something it shows only
in the Sent folder that it is being sent with an time spin indicator.
This is normal with Tiger Mail.
Tiger Mail only shows your Outbox when you have email waiting to be sent. Email messages appear in the Outbox when you attempt to send a message when you're working offline, or if Mail tried but was unable to send a message only. This is the only time the Outbox mailbox will appear in the mailboxes drawer with Tiger Mail.
To keep the Activity Viewer window in front and have it always shown, move the bottom of the Mail.app window up and place the Activity Viewer window below the Mail.app window.
I've been using the Mail.app exclusively since Jaguar was introduced and I've always used the Activity Viewer. If you have the Mail.app window expanded to full screen, the Activity Viewer window will not stay in front. It has always been this way with all Mail.app versions.

  • Unable to access contents of "Out" box

This forum was extremely helpful last time I encountered a mysterious snafu, so I am looking for help again.
Whenever I open my Mail application, the window that shows first is whichever mailbox (In, Out, Drafts, Sent, Trash, etc.) I had open when I last quit the program. If this original window happens to not be the list of emails I need to begin my task, I will click on another of the mailbox or folder listings showing in the side 'drawer', extending left or right of this Mail window (i.e. to read new In mail). All of these mailboxes, with the exception of the "Out" box, are immediately preceeded by a right pointing arrow (flag?), which when clicked turns down and reveals the multiple contents therein. Also, the "In" box in this drawer always indicates in parentheses and bold italics the number of unread e-mails, when applicable.
Recently, random emails have been getting caught in the "Out" box (not being sent), and the "Out" box in my side drawer now indicates in bold parentheses that there are seven emails trapped there, and I am unable to access the contents of this mailbox to attempt to re-send the emails that are occasionally getting stuck there. Normally, I have been able to still send email most of the time since noticing this situation, and there appears to be no obvious pattern regarding which mail does actually get sent and which gets jammed up in this "Out" box. When I do click on the "Out" mailbox (the only one with no arrow), the resulting "Out" window indicates 0 messages (0 bytes), yet as mentioned, it suggests a content of seven emails in the mailbox list of the drawer.
First, how can I get to these inaccessible emails to either delete or re-send them? Next, how can I prevent future emails from randomly getting trapped and becoming lost, and why isn't my "Out" window showing a list of these seven emails much like any other mailbox will show all of its contents? Lastly, is there something on my hard drive which requires reconfiguration?
Thanks in advance for any helpful comments.

I don't know how helpful this will be, for previously there was a poster here, David Gimeo Gost who is a guru with Mail, but he has not posted for a long time. As your post is getting old, here is an attempt to offer some advice.
The outbox is, as you have probably guessed, the repository for emails that failed to send, usually because the intended recipient's server is down, and they will sit there temporarily until Mail tries to send them later. Another possibility is that the address is invalid.
If either of these things happen, you will be informed that it could not send the email and place it in your outbox until it tries again later. You should be able to see the contents.
If the outbox shows (7) items but on clicking on it there are none, and you have not received any message notifying you of failed delivery, then it may well be that there is nothing in there, and that the supposed (7) emails is some display error occurring in Outbox.
If you agree with this line of thought, you could simply delete the outbox by
    1. Have Mail closed.
    2. locate the ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Outbox.mbox
and drag it to the Desktop. Opening Mail will create a fresh one, and hopefully one that shows no 'phantom emails'. You can always save the old one in another location until you are satisfied that there was nothing that failed to send.
One thing to be mindful about is that when Mail's mailboxes get too large, erratic behaviour can result. In 10.3 this can happen if your mailbox starts to build into several hundred MBytes or more.

I don't think so, you would need to set that on your browser when you log into your email account.

  • Out Box problem

I am having problems with my Out Box. I have a Yahoo Mail  address and I understand that Apple provide  the Out Box service. Last week I tried to send
an E Mail to my son. Each time I tried to send the message I was asked to prove that I was a human by filling in a rectangle with letters and numbers.
I tried this various times to no avail. Can somebody tell me how I can avoid this annoying interruption. Can somebody also tell me how can I complain
direct with Apple.I have tried -- expresslane.apple.com---with no success. Look forward to hearing from somebody. I live in Paraguay.

@ Bart1038, The issue that you are facing is related to your web browser and it's enhanced security features to avoid any malicious access. It's no related to any unit.

  • Out Box doesn't show

My out Box does not show when i send mail of any length. Any ideas?
    Doug

Tiger Mail only shows your Outbox when you have email waiting to be sent. Email messages appear in the Outbox when you attempt to send a message when you're working offline, or if Mail tried but was unable to send a message.
Once the Outbox appears in your mail viewer windows, it remains visible until you quit Mail or close all of your viewer windows.
Unless a message cannot be sent, there is no reason for the Outbox mailbox to be visible.
If you want to see the status of the sending process, open the Activity Viewer.

  • Mail keeps timing out

I've been having problems getting my e-mails. My pop box provider said that there is no problems their side and that Mail is timing out before it has connected to their server. I've had a look at changing how long it is until Mail times out, but can't find any way of doing so. Is it possible to change it and how do I do so?
    Thanks
    Lucy

There is no way I know of to change how long it should take for Mail to time-out. What you could do is try to fix whatever may be causing Mail to require so much time to establish a connection to the server.
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Try also turning OFF all the network port configurations except the one needed to connect to Internet and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Try also using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc.
Another thing that may cause Mail to time out before the server responds is having too many messages on the server...
BTW, if the version of Mac OS X on the computer where this happens is not the same as appears on your profile, then this is certainly relevant information that you should have provided from the very beginning. I, for example, am not familiarized with Mac OS X 10.2 and didn’t reply to you before just because of that.

  • Trouble sending email copy has been place in your out  box

When I send an email, I receive a note that says "a copy has been place in your out box. Sending the message content to the server failed".  why is this happening and how do I correct it.  Thank you.

    Maybe your mail settings wrong.
Delete affected e-mail account.  Then on device go to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Add e-mail account back in.
