Manage permissions for a list sharepoint 2013

Hey
A user, only have permission to contribute on Document Library. He can give permissions for items in this Document Library?
This user don't have permission to Site but just the Document Library?

Hi Fabio,
No, an account with contribute permission level cannot manage the permission. For managing permissions, the account must have “Manage Permissions” permission.
For achieving your demand, you need to create a custom permission level with Management Permissions permission and share the Document Library with the user with your custom permission
level.

I have created the subscription Setting services through Power shell command successfully.

And i have checked that the services are started in the managed services application, it started succesfully

Deployer Installation: Failed to validate Release Management Server for Team Foundation Server 2013

Attempting to install the deployer on a machine and getting the below error. Not sure what that means, out of turn error or what actually occurs at this step, validating release management server, during the configuration piece. The user,
that we set for the service was validated fine. The user is an service account in the TFS RM Server, is an admin on the local box as well.
I am able to get into the TFS RM Server through the client just fine. I can hit the TFS RM UI just fine as well.
Curious what would not allow the deployer to complete as mentioned below.
Any help is appreciated.

Alert mail for "Pending" column in List SharePoint 2013.

I'm using SharePoint 2013 online. I've created one List in which one Column is Choice (Completed, Pending) column named "Status". For all Item If "Status" is Pending, weekly one mail should fire with List of only "Pending"
Items as a alert to a person/group.
I think this is possible through SP Designer 2013 but not sure how (:. Please provide steps if you have any idia. Thanks.

I agreed with the above replies, there is not an OOB way to check the list and send email weekly via SharePoint Designer workflow. You need to create a custom timer job to achieve it.
In addition, as an alternative workaround, I suggest you create a workflow to check whether the "Status" column of the current item is pending, and send an email. Then use retention feature to start the workflow, and you can set it recurrence
per 7 days.

List search box does not work for some users Sharepoint 2013

Hello,
I have a list for which I've enabled a search box (from web part settings, miscellaneous).
The problem is that for me and the others admins the search works perfectly, but for the other users who have only Read
privilege the search doesn't work and shows the loading icon forever.
Why does this happen?
How can I enable search box
for the list for all users?

For troubleshooting your issue, please go to Central Administration -> Application Management ->Manage Service applications-> select search service application -> click Permissions -> add "Everyone" with Full Control.

Unable to search successfully on Company field in a Contact list - SharePoint 2013 online

When searching for a company in a contact list, I get NO search results when the line items returned should be abundant.
I am using SharePoint 2013 Online with an Office 365 E3 license. I am the global administrator as well as site collection owner.
Since Company is an existing site collection column, I went to its managed property in the SharePoint Administration portal. I went to Search > Manage Search Schema > Managed properties and opened CompanyOWSTEXT in order to click the Searchable checkbox.
All items were grayed out and unable to be edited. The Searchable check box was UNCHECKED.
Why am I unable to edit that property?
How can I ensure that the Company field is crawled and can return search results?

How to create column for attachment in SharePoint 2013 Document Library.

I've created document Library where user can upload the file while click on Upload option (OOTB).
Now in this Library I want to create one more column where user can put some comment and attach one more file for reference.
For comment I can create "Single line of text" type calumn where user can put some comment but for attachment not sure which type of column I have to create.
Want to know is there OOTB feature/column available which I can use to Add / create a one more column to upload a document for reference.

To manage the permissions for a Document Set, you must have at least the Design or Full Control permission level.
On the Welcome Page for the Document Set, click the Manage tab of the Document Set ribbon, and then click Permissions.
Do one of the following:
To change the permission settings for the document library itself, click Manage Parent.
To stop inheriting permissions from the document library and create unique permissions for this Document Set individually, click Stop Inheriting Permissions.
To view the specific permissions an individual has, click Check Permissions, and then type the name of the user or group you want to check.
To inherit permissions from the parent document library (if the Document Set was previously configured to stop inheriting them) click Inherit Permissions.

Unable to change and re-publish existing InfoPath forms on External SharePoint lists (SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Online and On Premise)

Hi everybody,
I really reached the limit of my diagnostic ability... ...please help me!!!!
I subscribed an Online Sharepoint 2013 Development site to try Business Connectivity Services and InfoPath forms. Using SharePoint Designer 2013 I successfully created an external content type
and an external list, including InfoPath forms.
When I use InfoPath Designer 2013 to customize the forms I can open and change them without any problems, but when I try to publish the changes I made I get the following error:
"An error has occurred. The form template has been published to the server but it can only be opened using InfoPath filler"
(please note that I changed just an existing label, without adding any new control or new fields).
If I try to do exactly the same things but with an normal SharePoint list everything works like a charm!
I noted that the main difference between the internal/external list is that with the internal list the publishing path in InfoPath 2013 is something like:

whereas for the external list is something like the following:
https://<sharepointsite>/lists/<listname>/item/template.xsn
Trying to overcome the problem I installed SharePoint 2013 Enterprise on premise using the VM from the Windows Azure Gallery. In this case the error I get when I try to publish with InfoPath
Designer 2013 is the following:
The following URL is not valid:
http://<sharepointsite>/lists/<listname>/item/template.xsn
and of course everything works fine with InfoPath Designer 2013 and regular SharePoint lists.
Even if I believe the problem is in general with external list and InfoPath, my external list is based on a the "Product" table from the "AdventureWorks2012" sample database
installed on SQL Azure and connected to SharePoint via Business Connectivity Services.

Same issue here for any external list. We've migrated from 2010 to 2013 - it used to be fine on 2010. 2013 seems hang after 'getting site column information' then nothing. All effected users can quick publish to regular sharepoint lists, but cannot to external
lists.
In our situation we are trying to quick publish to sites using the 2010 look and feel in a 2013 environment. using SharePoint Designer 2013 and InfoPath 2013.

Kerberos authentication prompting for credentials in Sharepoint 2013

Hello all,
I think I’m a bit confused on what I should expect out of Kerberos and sharepoint.
Following the steps located in
http://blog.blksthl.com/2012/09/26/the-first-kerberos-guide-for-sharepoint-2013-technicians/ , I’ve setup Kerberos in my Sharepoint 2013 environment. My hope was that configuring kerberos authentication would solve the issue of users being prompted for
credentials when they access sharepoint. I know that one way to address this problem is to tweak the IE settings by adding the site to the local intranet or trusted zones, but am I wrong in thinking that Kerberos should also authenticate the user on to the
site? Here’s my situation:
Previously, I had our sharepoint URL in the trusted zone and had IE set to pass my credentials through, and that worked. After configuring Kerberos, I can see the tickets on my system using klist and the security log on our web front-end shows that I authenticated
using Kerberos.
However, if I then remove the sharepoint URL from the trusted zone in IE, I still get prompted for credentials. If I cancel the credential prompt, I get a 401 error and the security log on the server shows a NTLM login attempt.
As soon as I put the URL back in the trusted zone, I can access the site and the server log shows a Kerberos authentication.
I’m I wrong in thinking that if Kerberos was working properly then I shouldn't need to have the URL in the trusted zone?

Is there an avilable Fix for the Managed metadata navigation Bug in sharePoint 2013

I am facing this bug on my "Publishing Site ---> enterprise wiki Template" inside SharePoint server 2013. and when i tried to specify the target page manually as mentioned in this link it did not work also.

For this issue, I can reproduce it in my test team site, I haven’t seen the CU update includes this issue.
So, I would suggest you to use the workaround, set a friendly url for the subsite in the term store management settings page as described in the blog.

When users are trying to search for content in SharePoint 2013 under Firefox browser, they are unable to open the listed results.

Unable to open UNC path result in the Firefox browser, because the firefox cut out the server name from the unc path.
The correct unc path is \\servername\foldername, in the firefox browser the listed result's uncp path is \\\foldername

File formats for RBS in sharepoint 2013?

I have configured RBS with the threshhold of 1mb,i was expecting that all the videos,images greater than 1mb would go into blob storage but they are getting stored in content db,zip files greater than 1mb are getting stored in blob storage.I went throught

When you upload a file more then 1 mb, SP compress it and when it check it is less then 1 mb it wont store it in RBS.
You can check and change Chunk file size using
Changing the chunk size is quite simple and requires a bit of PowerShell script.
