Manual Actions outside user's controlled org

I'm facing a problem in which i'm running a task as a user and within the task i need to assign a manual action to another user who is outside his controlled organizations....
IdM complains that the user who is running the task does not have view access to the user he's tryin to assign the manual action to...
Anybody have a workaround for this issue??
I'm currently developing a workaround but the problem i'm facing currently is how can I make a task go into a suspended mode...Has anyone done anything like this??

I am giving some idea for your probelm.May be it helps.
There is a build-in variable called resultLimit,where we can set the time the
task shud wait before it is being deleted.Refer Tech Deployment/Reference
for detials.
Result limit sets life time of a finished task before it is deleted.
Also we can specify the timeout in manual action.
Timeout is introduced to expire WorkItem after finite time of inaction
0, minutes<0, seconds
=0, no expiration

If it is happening with a particular file only, not with a new file, then please send us the file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread. How do I rid the User Account Control - "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?" - FireFox Helper pop-up that shows after every log in?

The following pop-up is displayed after every log-in, even after it is clicked yes after previous log-ins. Several students log-in the computers daily. How do I rid THIS?:

In Windows 7, Microsoft updated UAC in several ways. By default, UAC does not prompt when certain programs included with Windows make changes requiring elevated permissions. Other programs still trigger a UAC prompt. The strictness of UAC can be changed to either always prompt, or to never do so.

Timeout value in the Manual Actions...

Hi Everyone,
I am actually facing a weird problem with respect to the timeout
value. My workflow has the following Manual Action in the Notify
Activity which does wait for 1 min max and should continue to proceed
forward.

The workflow should wait for max 1 min and should proceed forward.
However, as you see in the above the timeout value set is
2009-10-15T00:38:16.326Z which seems odd because the workflow has
been suspended with resume date 10/14/09 05:28:00 EDT. But the timeout
value seems higher rather than just timing out for 1 min
Can anyone tell me who is setting the following below and where is
thing being picked up? I don't think its even honoring the 1 min
value?

Overall result is task waits for couple of hours and then gets
executed. Seems to me like a bug? Please let me know your thoughts on

This is for requestor's review pending actions list. In our create user workflow, all the pending forms(incomplete create tabbed user form) are referred as manual actions.
If the requestor stops the create user form without completing it, it gets into his/her review pending action list as

and does not specify who the user account form that was incomplete.

Middletier RC Outside Users Behind NAT

I recently setup the middletier server so that I could begin remote
controlling our outside users. I have zfd 4 running on my home pc and it
is able to login to the middletier and I have successfully imported the
workstation into the tree. However, I have not been able to remote
control the pc. I have a cable router setup at home with NAT enabled.
The imported workstation shows the ip address of the internal network and
not the public address. Is this the problem? Am I only able to remote
control workstations with public addresses?
Also, pc's at the office connect to the middletier and are remote
controlled with no problems.
I am using Novell 6.5 with Zen 4 (the Zen server is on a Novell 6.5
server, while the middletier is on a Windows 2000 server).

How do users request a remote control session in Zfd4? I have found the
rclistener.exe program for Zen 6.5 and 7, but Novell Support doesn't seem
to mention much about requesting from Zfd4.

User account control message displays every time, minimise and close buttons not displaying, pages slow to load

Every time I try to open a page, I get a user account control message asking for permission to proceed. I have tried to adjust the frequency of this but have been unsuccessful. This has only started to occur recently.
Pages are slow to load and do not properly display the close, minimise etc buttons in the top right corner (these are blacked out)
I have tried to reset firefox. This does not fix the problem.
The problem does not occur using Internet Explorer

How to do user authentication through manually access sql user database

I have a table of user accounnts in sql, by using tomcat jsp, how can I authenticate users by manually accessing user account in sql ??

What is there to do?
- Display page asking for username/password
- retrieve typed in user name password
- run query on database - something like "select userid from users where username = ? and password = ?"
- if a record is returned, you have got a user - forward control to the correct jsp. If not, then it is incorrect - go back to the login page with an error message.
- Normally on successful login you add something into the session (eg a user object) so you can tell if someone is logged in or not by looking for that object.
Whats hard about any of this?

Sample Manual Action

Hello All,
I have not been able to fix my Manual Action issue, which is discussed in detail in a different thread. What I was hoping, was that someone could post a simple workflow that will launch a manual action. I would like to use an example to work from, but I have not been able to find an example that works the way I expect it to.
I would like a workflow example that launches a form for the user to fill out via the html UI when the workflow is ran. Does anyone have a simple workflow? It would be great if I could get this.

No manual actions are available

Hi all,
I've implemented two ways to print a smartform from the Portal. The first one is through a scheduled actions area and the other is through a print button on header area. These two buttons worked fine until I upgraded the CRM 4.0 to SP16. Now, print button located on top is not working and when I click on it and I get an error message about "No manual actions are available".
Any idea to solve this problem, please?

Check for your Settings in the Action conditions for your Action Defination.
In Path:Customer Relationship Management>Basic Functions>Actions>Actions in Transaction>Define Conditions:
In the "Details of the Selected Processing" for your "Selcted Processing" you have made the settings for Print Option and defined the Printer Selection the Action Execution Interval,
check for these settings weather are Appropriate or not,Also check for the Options Available in the Output device are still available or not and selected ones are Appropriate or not.

ITunes & User Account Control In Windows 7 64 Bit

I have an iPod Touch 5G, and a PC running Windows 7 64 bit. The latest Windows 64 bit iTunes with the latest update that was released a few days ago is installed. When the PC starts, a warning screen appears asking if I want to allow iTunes to run. This is the iTunes Helper app that wants to open first and stay resident so that if I plug in my iPod Touch it will be recognized and open iTunes as designed.
Yes, on the summary pane in iTunes, the “Open iTunes when this iPod is attached” option is checked and so is the option for connecting via wireless.
The only way to prevent this is to turn off User Account Control for the entire PC which of course should not be necessary if iTunes was working as designed with the proper certificates installed.
I have removed iTunes, Bonjour and the two other Apple apps that appear in Control Panel >Programs, then re-installed the iTunes Win7 64 bit file as administrator.
It's installed as the administrator and the only user on the PC, hence by default I am the administrator. I have also clicked on Properties for iTunes, Run as Administrator, but the UAC warning screen will still appear every single time I boot the PC.
How do I get iTunes to be properly recognized so that Windows doesn’t detect it as a rouge program trying to gain access that it’s not entitled to.
Furthermore, this also prevents me from drag & dropping songs from Explorer to iTunes. The only way I can drag & drop songs from Explorer to iTunes is to turn UAC off completely.This is a feature that is explained in the instructions as a means of linking songs from your Explorer folders so they reflect in iTunes.
This appears to have been an issue since 2010 as others have experienced it also, so hopefully by now the procedure for resolving it must have surfaced.

In recent times, the error-message-free iTunes and QuickTime launch failures have been indicating that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

User Account Control Problems with Premier Elements 7 32 bit in 64 Bit Windows 7

I found User Account Control Problems in other forums but didn't see much in Premiere Elements, so I hope this helps others who may be having problems with 32 bit programs in a 64 bit computor. When I first got my 64 bit I didn't have problems.
Back in February I bought a Quad Core Desktop with Windows 7 64 bit. Haven't been on the forum for 7 months since I wrote in regarding importing video with the Pyro AV Link (Premiere Elements Tips and Tricks). I was having problems importing video which started after March 28 sometime, as that was the last time I didn't have a problem importing VHS. Took me a few months off and on to find out what worked.
I started uninstalling Windows updates and any programs I had installed back to that point in time. Checked after uninstalling each item. The capture screen would come up on a delayed basis but clicking on capture did nothing. Although no driver is required for IE1394 (so they say) I read where some people using the Legacy driver had fixed some problems, so I switched to the Legacy. Seemed to work great (for a few minutes).
I had even uninstalled and reinstalled PE7 but no difference. Finally I noticed a shield in the PE7 Desktop icon. Thats weird. Never had that before. Just decided to show up after I had done all of the stuff I mentioned. Turns out at some point in time since I've had the computor Windows 7 decided to flag my 32 bit program as misusing the 64 bit system. User Account Control. I never bothered too much with UAC and just clicked on the yes box wen it popped up asking if I wanted this or that to take control of my computor. I tried using the minimum setting for safety reasons, and then finally turned User Account Control off. Bingo! PE7 capture works again and still working.
While I am not recommending that people arbitrarily turn UAC off, this appeared to be my problem. I would recommed that they try turning it off before uninstallin a bunch of stuff. Having a restore point may or may not have been a fix for me. I think one of the Windows Updates caused the problem but I am not going to uninstall any more stuff at this point, I have not been back on the internet or installed any more updates in my desktop. I am going to use my laptop for internet and used the desktop for video.
I am guessing this could be a problem for any 64 bit systems trying to use 32 bit programs. IE: XP,Vista,Windows 7 64 bit. In Vista there is also Data Execution Prevention (DEP) which you can turn on or off, supposedly to prevent misuse of memory (as I understand it), but Win7 either doesn't have it or I haven't found where it's located.
Maybe this has been covered in the forum somewhere and I missed reading it. Hope I am not too confusing. Anyway, whatever feedback you guys have would be great.

    Thanks for your answer, and I did check out the link you suggested. However, I have Windows 7 Home Premium as most people have I think, and the XP program was not available. I started with Vista and now have Win 7. I never could navigate around in XP anyway so am content to just leave User Account Control off.
    Interesting side note to turning UAC off is that my desktop seemed to be using more of the CPUs, where half of them were "Parked" as I wrote in also about 7 months ago when I 1st got my desktop. I am pleased to say that video processing seems to go quicker with UAC off. Have to observe things some more to confirm.
    I just thought if others were having problems after installing Windows Updates and leaving UAC off worked then they could possibly pinpoint a problem.

How to restrict manual setting of User Status?

I have created an User Profile where a particular User Status is "set" based on the Business Transaction "Release".
However, we are also allowed to set this User Status manually without carrying out the Business Transaction "Release".
How do I restrict manual setting of those User Statuses that are "set" based on a Business Transaction?

I did read that post. But it is about providing authorisation to set a Status for an User.
The case I am referring is, an User Status is auto set by a Bus. Trans Release. But I am also permitted to set the status transition manually. This way, Users tend to skip Releasing the Service Order. This is affecting upstream processes.
Is there a way where we can restrict manual setting of User Statuses that have to be normally auto set by Bus. Transactions?
