So please let me know difffernet upgarade option with fulll details.
Thanks in advance.
Please let me know the best

At a high level, these are the steps -
1. Install 10gR2 software on new server, patch it up to 10.2.0.4 and apply the latest CPU patches
2. Shut down 9i database and optionally take a full cold backup.
3. Copy configuration and database files from old server to new server.
4. Perform the upgrade on the new server.
5. After verifying upgrade is successful, delete 9i ORACLE_HOME and database from old server.
See the steps detailed here - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14238/upgrade.htm#i1011600

  • Question on 11g Manual Upgrade (Step #33)

    Step 33
Upgrade Statistics Tables Created by the DBMS_STATS Package
If you created statistics tables using the DBMS_STATS.CREATE_STAT_TABLE procedure, then upgrade these tables by executing the following procedure:
    EXECUTE DBMS_STATS.UPGRADE_STAT_TABLE('SYS','dictstattab');
In the example, 'SYS' is the owner of the statistics table and 'dictstattab' is the name of the statistics table. Execute this procedure for each statistics table.
How do we know which tables were previously created with DBMS_STATS.CREATE_STAT_TABLE prior to upgrade?”
    Thank you very much.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
The statistics tables created by DBMS_STATS, are used for exporting/importing statistics, these tables are not used by the optimizer. So if you are not planning to import statistics, you don't need to find (and update) these tables.
Anyway, stats tables have a basic table structure and can be found by the following query:
SELECT OWNER, TABLE_NAME FROM DBA_TAB_COLUMNS WHERE
COLUMN_NAME = 'STATID' AND DATA_TYPE= 'VARCHAR2' AND DATA_LENGTH=30Check if the listed tables have also these columns:
    Name                                      Null?    Type

    3)shut db
    4)start in Upgrade mode
    5)run catupgrd.sql
    6)normal startup of DB
    7)run catuppst.sql
Can someone help me in upgrading timezone file in the process. where to have this step fit in.?

Yes, we have a specific reason to do the manual upgrade due to the semantics(in char) issue in the current db. which has bugs in the 10gr2 , hence we are upgrading in manual method.Pl post a link to this issue
DBUA does exactly what the manual upgrade does, except that it is automated. They are not different processes.

  • Constant manual upgrades

I was talking to a whole bunch of people offline and online and every single one of them agree on one thing, the problem is that you always need to upgrade Flash Player.
Now for developers this is we can say okay.... but for world-wide users is not because many of them don't know do they need to upgrade and/or why.
What I suggest as many other also do is can Flash plug-in have some kind of automatic upgrade itself, or have two choices, automatic upgrade or notify me -manual upgrade.
Automatic means automatic user doesn't have to do anything it upgrades itsels automatically (similar to FireFox Mozilla Add-ons).
Manual means, Flash sends a notification New version is available would you like to upgrade now?
And perhaps have something like check every 2 weeks for new upgrade - like many other software has such feature.
In any case I was wondering about this for so long and I see that many of you out there also want this, so please Adobe can you make this possible ?

    mari8899 wrote:
But look at the instructions for this upgrade, how can normal user follow those, 95% of them will just close the page and say forget about it.
The instructions for normal users say: "Users can set the frequency of the checks or disable auto-update  notification by using the Flash  Player Settings Manager." If you follow that link you have a checkbox to enable update checking and a drop down list to select the frequency.
As I said normal user doesn't even know it has to upgrade now and then, they simply install it first time and never come back again.
Normal users get a warning within 30 days after a new update being released.

  • Manually upgrading iphoto library

Could anyone direct me to documentation as to how to manually upgrade an iphoto library from version 6 to version 7? My iphoto 6 library works fine on my powerbook. However once I try to open it in iphoto 7 it trys to upgrade, but then hangs. I have adjusted all the permissions, and restored from earlier backups, but still no luck.
If however I open iphoto 7 and create a new library it works fine. Hence I can import the photos from the underlying images, but have lost all the metadata.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Bill,
    "Why not?"
Because this throws the baby out with the bath water! iPhoto is usually able to upgrade a library with no trouble, or maybe the odd quirk. With your method, you assume the library can't be upgraded and are basically starting from scratch. Anyone who follows your advice is guaranteed of losing their albums, titles, keywords, ratings, comments, books, slideshows, modified photos, and anything else contained within the database file. OUCH! All the hours of work editing photos - gone. All organizational efforts - poof. You really should include such a disclaimer with your advice.
Let's say you do want to start with a fresh library. There are cases when this is appropriate. For example, if the library has been corrupted and is malfunctioning before the upgrade. Your method is still ill advised, because you are stripping the files from the library and keeping the damaged database file. To start with a fresh library, *create one*. You do this by holding down the Option key as you launch iPhoto, and clicking "Create Library" in the dialog box. This gives you a fresh, empty library with a new, perfect database file. Then you can import the photos from the old library into the new one. Of course, you still lose all the metadata from the old library. But if the library was corrupt, that information was already lost.
Also, I suggest that if you are importing RAW images, that you allow iPhoto to copy the pix (it's in Preferences advanced). If your images are already .jpg it doesn't seem to matter.
Actually, it matters *a lot*. There is a huge difference between a standard library and an alias-based one. Most users should keep iPhoto in its default mode and let it do the file management. In rare cases, as when someone is using 2 organizing applications with the library, the alias method is useful. However, this method is more complicated: deleting files becomes a 2-step process; moving the library is very difficult indeed. Corrupting your library is much easier, making the alias-based library a poor choice for the non-expert user.
    Regards.

Hi icequake, your question is possibly a duplicate of [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929250 Question# 929250] in which you also replied to having the same problem.
This appears to be a bug in Mozilla Firefox but no one has yet filed a report in [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org Bugzilla].
If you would be so kind to give more details, I will help you and the others to file a bug report so engineers can take a look at it.

  • Could I manually upgrade my 16GB iPod to a 32GB?

I was wondering if I could manually upgrade my iPod touch 16GB to a iPod touch with rear facing camera. Ive done research that i need a new logic , As the 16 GB model does not have the rear facing camera connector. If I buy The back of a 32/64 GB iPod( so it has space for the rear facing camera) and a iPod touch rear facing camera logic board, would it work? Or would there be some sort of conflict with the logic board and other parts? Would I probably need a new motherboard too?
I have also previously repaired my iPod touch 5g, so I'm familiar with what is inside of it.

Well, I'm currently looking at this, and so far I don't see much of a difference in the parts ( apart from the back and the board) and i see a possibility:

Regards,There should be a log file from the steps that you ran. That should point you to the original error. You'll likely need to correct that first before proceeding with rerunning your manual upgrade. Assuming that you have a support contract then the best advice would be to contact them. If you don't you essentially have 2 options now.
    1) Restore the backup you took of the 9i database, determine the cause of the upgrade failure, correct for it, and repeat the upgrade.
    2) determine the cause of the upgrade failure, correct for it and resume your current upgrade - likely means rerunning catupgrd.sql again.

  • Manual upgrade of 8.8 database

In my instance the Upgrade Wizard under Server Components I can only select Server Tools, everything else is not selectable. I can manually run the upgrade for Common Database, Help, Outlook Integration and Addons.
I have tried to upgrade from 2007A SP49 to 8.8 SP03 in Windows Server 2008 on SQL 2008 all 64bit.
My question is now that you cannot trigger a database upgrade via the client as per SBO 200xA and B, how can you trigger if the wizard fails?
I have looked through SP Note 1285922 ( https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1289522 ) Collective upgrade issues for 8.8 and there is no mention of any similar issues, I have received no error messages during my upgrade, so I cannot see why I can't upgrade, unless of course 8.8 is not ready for 64bit?

    Hi Gordon,
I solved the issue by fully uninstalling the upgrade SBO 8.8 and then downloading and reinstalling the full version.
Once installed the Upgrade version was then able to detect the database and allow the upgrade to proceed.
I am now very wary of the SBO 8.8 upgrade tool and I am worried about what existing customers are going to have to go through when they try to upgrade....
    Many thanks

  • Manually upgrade packages (namely Banshee)

    Good afternoon,
I've been waiting for banshee (music player) to be updated in the arch repositories to its latest version for some time (its currently flagged as out of date).
Would it be possible to upgrade banshee manually by downloading the up to date version from their website?
Also, if this is possible and I do it, if banshee is upgraded on the repositories will this take preference over my manual install?

  • How can I manually upgrade a ZTE Open C to 2.1?

I have a ZTE Open C with 1.3, I would like to upgrade to 2.1 to play around. Has someone done it? Can I just install the build that I want to try (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/firefox-os/general/zte-c-2-1-modui-t2853315) by entering recovery mode and selecting the proper .zip file in the SD card or do I have to do something before? if I understand correctly I have to root the phone before, would this upgrade do it? -> http://www.ztedevices.com/support/smart_phone/46d40c52-bed4-4cdc-9df9-01719cdf0a70.html?type=software

It is up to you if you want to risk flashing your device where the build is not directly from ZTE. There is the possibility of bricking your device as well. Please proceed at your own risk.

  • Is there any way to forcibly/manually upgrade to Mavericks?

    Header 1
I have an early 2007 iMac (check the specs in the picture). I was ecstatic when I heard Mavericks was coming out but when I saw that I could not upgrade because it required a Mid 2007 iMac I freaked out. I am only off by a few months; I am sure my Mac can handle Mavericks but the store won't allow me to upgrade. Is there anyway to forcefully install Mavericks and if possible, to also migrate all my data to it? I would very gratefull to anyone who can help me! Thanks

Just got help purging a very nasty malware virus infection. Will not accept any download that appears on my laptop. Is the upgrade notice that appears safe? I have virus protection. Still very wary.....

Firefox should be version 35 now. You may wish to set Firefox to up ate automatically. Some of the changes will be security fixes intended to help you stay safe.
    If you use
    * New MenuButton {three bar icon) -> Help {(?) icon) -> About Firefox <br />That should initiate an update.
