Manually Arranging the List of Collections

I just downloaded and installed LR 1.0. I was also able to successfully import my LR 4.1beta Library with no problem. My question is: does anyone know how to manually arrange the list of Collections in LR 1.0? Right now they are listed alphabetically, but I would like to have the list of Collections displayed otherwise.
In iPhoto, you can click and drag a specific iPhoto Library then move and place it wherever you want in the iPhoto Library list.
Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

Thanks, Sid. That's a workaround for what I want to do, but I would like to arrange my Collections in chronological order (using Month Year) as the Collection name (i.e., FEB 2007) and would like to have the most recent images in the Collection at the top of the Collection list.
In other words, if I started setting up my Collection list today, I would like to have it arranged FEB 2007, JAN 2007, DEC 2006, ... with FEB 2007 at the top. Right now, I haven't figured out a way to do that.
Unfortunately, using the child collections the way you suggested, I would have to rename each Collection everytime I added a new Collection (named after the current Month Year) to keep the most recent Collection at 001.

    Close the pictures before you quit Preview. Cmd-opt-q will close all windows and quit. cmd-opt-w will close all windows and not quit.
    Or, Disable automatically opening files that were left open in General System Preferences

  • Quering on the list item collection after being loaded

    I'm a newbie to SharePoint and JavaScript.
    I have a requirement where in I have to get the count of list column and bind to an HTML element.
    Example:
    Red,Blue,Green are the columns and i have to get the count of "Red" columns ,"Blue" column and "Green" columns that are filled after loading the items.
    //To get the context
    var context = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    //To get the list
    var pwh_list = pmh_context.get_web().get_lists().getByTitle('test');
    //Query for the list
    var pwh_query = new SP.CamlQuery();
    //Specifying the xml for the query.
    pwh_query.set_viewXml("<GroupBy Collapse='True'><FieldRef Name='Vertical' /></GroupBy><OrderBy> <FieldRef Name='Vertical' Ascending='True' /></OrderBy>");
    //Get the items based on the query
    var pwh_items = pwh_list.getItems(pwh_query);
    //Loading the items
    context.load(awh_items);
    context.executeQueryAsync(pmh_SuccessItems, pmh_Failitems);
    function pmh_SuccessItems()
    //Get the count of "Red","Blue","Green" columns
    function pmh_Failitems()
    These counts have to be bound to the HTML table.
    Kindly help.

    I din't get the last point. Were you been able to do it?
    Just use three different variable for return items pwh_red_items,pwh_blue_items
    context.load(pwh_red_items);context.load(pwh_blue_items);
    Then on success use pwh_red_items.Count
    , pwh_blue_items.Count something like this
    Please mark a post helpful/answer if it is really helpful or answer your query

  • ARQ: Manager Id manual selection from the list???

    Hi,
    I had discussed in my other thread here that, in some of the cases, a user may not have manager id for some reason either in HR or AD. For such users, the option is to select manager id manually from the list by pressing F4.
    The problem is that, as soon as a manager id is searched, this will display "all" the users available in GRC system: requester, manager, role owner, other dialog users and even background users!
    This causes the requester to select incorrect manager id and exposes all the irrelevant users from GRC system.
    May I know how I can control this? Or do we have any other way to handle this?
    As I know, there are following options:
    1. Maintain users' details properly either in AD or SAP HR systems
    2.In case of non-availability of manager id, route request to appropriate team/person who can take proper decision (which I have done currently)
    Does any also suggest/endorse an idea to modify the default search ability of ARQ?
    I would appreciate if we can have ideas/suggestions on this.
    Would be waiting for kind responses.
    Regards,
    Faisal

    Dear Alessandro,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Regarding :
    I understand your concern regarding correct/wrong mangers. But in case that manager information is wrong in LDAP/HR from which source should GRC get the correct managers?
    I would share on thing and that is, for contractors (for example) some how manager details are not maintained in LDAP (as in SAP HR only permanent employees' HR data is maintained).
    I could not get the first 3 lines of next paragraph and I think this is not the issue
    Basically you can say who ever is a manager can also be a manager from someone else. But it is possible that someone who is not yet a manager can be a new manager and has to be defined as manager in ARQ.
    The issue that, for some type of employees (contractors), manager details are not maintained neither in LDAP nor in SAP HR system. Therefore, in such cases, manager field is empty. But let me tell you there are managers for even contractors, but not maintained in LDAP due to the maintenance responsibility and gathering this information from different department is assumed to be a big and painful task.
    But these managers (for contractors) are definitely available in GRC system as approvers. Therefore, for users (contractors) whose manager is not maintained, manually it is to be selected from the search option. If we start searching for a "suitable" manager, then it displays all the users available in GRC system (because they are created in SU01).
    Also, we might face similar problem at the time of forwarding a request! Actually, a manager should only see the list of other managers, not all users!
    Similarly, a role owner will intend to forward his responsibility to another role owner only!
    Therefore, we should only see the relevant users from the search, but not all!
    Please share your valuable inputs.
    Regards,
    Faisal

  • Manually arranging Library items -- buggy?

    I'm trying to figure out whether Aperture (all versions including latest) has a bug or whether I need to delete some preference-files to reset something.
    I have several large Libraries, some 'general' ones and some others that are confined to particular travel-adventures. A general library has lots of Projects and a few albums. A travel Library probably has a Project for each camera chip and lots of Albums comprising the days and 'events' of the trip. In every Library, most Albums are manually created and some are Smart Albums.
    THE PROBLEM:  As I go thru the organizing process, I manually arrange the Albums, etc., in the Inspector pane but after dragging and dropping an Album in the pane it sometimes 'lands' in a spot a few items 'above' the place I dropped it. It's stubborn and repeatable. Restarting Aperture doesn't seem to fix it.
    Seveal Aperture versions ago I filed this as a bug but nothing has changed. Have others witnessed it?

    That's an okay idea and will 'solve' the problem but it implies that I can make up appropriatly numbered prefixes as I go. Of course I've worked around various sorting problems by naming/numbering the file system's directories and folders on every computer I've ever used (including Unix on the PDP-11/20). But as soon as I want to create another album in-the-middle I might have to adjust a bunch of names. Feh.
    As no one else has commented, maybe I'll go delete some preference files. Thanks.

  • How to preserve the column headings from my playlist when I transfer the list as WAV files to a flash drive?

    I have digitized several old vinyls as WAV files and have them in my MacBook Pro in an iTunes playlist. I have arranged the list under the column headings of "Grouping", "Name", "Time", "Artist", "Album" and "Genre". When I copy the files to a flash drive by drag-and-drop, none of the headings except "Name" show up. How to preserve all of the column headings when copying the file to an external device?  Thanks - RC@gnv.

    I have the same issue when trying to sync from iTunes 11 on my MacBook to my iPhone 4 iOS6.1. I blindly did the iOS upgrade to 6.1 (more fool me) and since then have not been able to use my phone as an iPod.
    I have tried restoreing it, I ve tried restoring it to a new phone but it hasn't worked for me.
    The sync starts and the capacity bar in iTunes shows capacity including and music or films etc that are to be included in the sync and then iTunes stops the sync and nothing has been transfered. As with your experience the music is shown in iTunes under Music, under Devices as greyed out with the syncing icon (dotted circle) to the left of it.
    When I try to include photos in the sync, I also get an error msg stating the connection to the iPhone has been lost. I am trying to do the sync vis USB, so I dont why I get this error.
    I can of course download any music I've bought from Apple from my iCloud to my phone but I want to be able to put any music I want on to it like I could before on iOS5.

  • HT1399 As I have added pocast shows to my itunes podcast list it is in a random order.  How do I alphabetize my list of podcasts.  Can I manually arrange them in an order of my choosing.  Thanks

    As I have added podcast subscriptions to my itunes podcast list on the far left menu window the list is in a random order.  How do I aphabetize the podcast list ?   Can I arrange them manually ?

    I have about 500 bookmarks ..   and they are arranged within 60 folders.  I would like to see them in chronological order as before, because now to find a bookmark is a hard task.

    Hi Group
    I am looking for a powershell script for the below  manual process in sccm2012. please help
    Obtain the list of “All Users Group1” collection that have been defined as a Primary User of a device, and what that Users ShortName and Device name is
    Obtain the list of user from Active Directory that have their “Title” attribute equal to “Non-Employee” (samAccountName)
    For each user that is returned from AD, determine if they are assigned as a Primary User of a Device and write the Device name to a file
    Continue to append all of the applicable Device names to the file
    End Result = List of all Devices that have Users that have their AD Attribute “Title” equal to “Non-Employee”

  • Creating a collection from a list and joining the list to a database table

    I would like to have opinions on good ways to process rows, based on a provided list of key values, joining the collected list against a source table to retrieve additional information related to the key. In this simple example, the procedure accepts a list of employee numbers. The goal is to print a list of names associated with those numbers. The method is to materialize the list of employee numbers as rows and join those rows to a source table to get the names. I have used BULK COLLECT. I don't know if this is a good approach and I would value suggestions. I would also like to understand why we cannot cast PLSQL tables using a type defined in the procedure's specification (why the type needs to exist as an object before we can cast it, like this:
    SELECT * FROM TABLE ( CAST ( SOME_FUNCTION(&some parameter) AS SOME_TYPE ) );
    Anyway, here is my demo SQL, which you should be able to execute against the SCOTT schema without any changes. Thanks for your help!
    declare
    type employee_numbers is table of emp.empno%type index by binary_integer;
    type employee_names is table of emp.ename%type index by binary_integer;
    type employees_record is record (empno employee_numbers, person_name employee_names);
    records employees_record;
    employees_cursor sys_refcursor;
    employee_number_list varchar2(30) default '7369,7499,7521';
    begin
    open employees_cursor for
    with t as (
    select regexp_substr(employee_number_list, '[^,]+', 1, level) as employee_number
    from dual
    connect by regexp_substr(employee_number_list, '[^,]+', 1, level) is not null
    ) select emp.empno, emp.ename
    from t join emp on (emp.empno = t.employee_number)
    order by 2
    fetch employees_cursor bulk collect into records.empno, records.person_name;
    dbms_output.put_line('number of records: '||records.empno.count());
    for i in 1 .. records.empno.count
    loop
    dbms_output.put_line(chr(39)||records.empno(i)||chr(39)||','||chr(39)||records.person_name(i)||chr(39));
    end loop;
    end;

    >
    It looks like I have confirmation that BULK COLLECT is a good way to go collect rows for processing
    >
    Well maybe and maybe not. Bear in mind that those demos were only basic demos for the purpose of illustrating how functionality CAN be used. They do not tell you WHEN to use them.
    BULK COLLECT uses expensive PGA memory and unless you know that only a small number of rows will be collected you can have some serious memory issues. Any heavy duty use of BULK COLLECT should generally have a LIMIT clause to limit the number of elements in the collection for each loop iteration.
    Always use SQL if possible.
    Also, for your use case you might be bette served using a PIPELINED function. Instead of collecting ALL rows into a nested table as in your example a PIPELINED function returns one row at a time but is still used as if it were a table using the same TABLE operator.
    Here is simple example code for a PIPELINED function
    -- type to match emp record
    create or replace type emp_scalar_type as object
      (EMPNO NUMBER(4) ,
       ENAME VARCHAR2(10),
       JOB VARCHAR2(9),
       MGR NUMBER(4),
       HIREDATE DATE,
       SAL NUMBER(7, 2),
       COMM NUMBER(7, 2),
       DEPTNO NUMBER(2)
    -- table of emp records
    create or replace type emp_table_type as table of emp_scalar_type
    -- pipelined function
    create or replace function get_emp( p_deptno in number )
      return emp_table_type
      PIPELINED
      as
       TYPE EmpCurTyp IS REF CURSOR RETURN emp%ROWTYPE;
        emp_cv EmpCurTyp;
        l_rec  emp%rowtype;
      begin
        open emp_cv for select * from emp where deptno = p_deptno;
        loop
          fetch emp_cv into l_rec;
          exit when (emp_cv%notfound);
          pipe row( emp_scalar_type( l_rec.empno, LOWER(l_rec.ename),
              l_rec.job, l_rec.mgr, l_rec.hiredate, l_rec.sal, l_rec.comm, l_rec.deptno ) );
        end loop;
        return;
      end;
    select * from table(get_emp(20))

    I just switched to Iphone 5c from Blackberry...is there a way to jump from the 1st email listed to the bottom of the list (sometimes 300-400) without scrolling manually thru them all?  Also is there a way to organize them by sender?

    Well, I think I know why the rules are not working. The alias mailbox is being listed as another mail folder  and not as an actual inbox so the rules are not being applied. While I wish the rules would work, I will continue to manually mark some of the emails as spam.
    As for the second issue with emails vanishing, I am waiting to see if it happens again. I think it must happen when it is syncing the data but I am not sure that it happens all the time. Today the previous emails seem to be their and it grabbed the new email so I don't know what happened with the vanishing email. Anyway this can be closed since I believe the main issue has been solved as being a setup issue with Yahoo alias email account.

  • Option to manually order the Unplayed Episodes list

    I really like the new podcast app. However, when I am listening to podcasts I don't necessarily want to listen from newest episode to oldest episode in the Unplayed Episodes list. I would like the option to manually order this list. This way I can specify the order I want to listen, which is not usually newest to oldest.

    At this point it looks like you can order newest to oldest or oldest to newest but thats it.
    To change the sort order tap on the podcast in the library window, tap on the podcast header where you set your subscription options, scroll down and below the option for how many episodes to keep is another that allows you to say oldest to newest or newest to oldest for sort order. No manual sort yet but it would be nice.

  • Can I arrange notes manually in the Notes App in Yosemite?

    I find I always like to arrange the individual notes in the NOTES app - but I can't!  Am I missing something?  I can't be the only person who likes to arrange things manually?
    I know by numbering the notes, or using a space or asterisk, I can work around this - but boy it would be nice to just grab and rearrange!
    Can anyone tell me how to do this?   I hope I'm WRONG, and this can easily be done!  I asked this same question back with LION, and the answer was NO!  Boy it would be nice for Apple to simply have a drag and drop manually the order of notes, if the user wanted to do that.
    Can I?  Thanks,
    Larry

    No. On OS X, you can sort by date created, date modified, or alphabetically. But you cannot have "no sort."
    And on iOS, the _only_ option you have is to sort by date modified.
    So I just leave it to sort by "date modified" so things are in the same order on iOS and OS X. This seems suboptimal; thanks for reminding me to make a feature request
