Many effects missing or not working

Hello everyone
First of all, sorry if there are mistakes in my sentences, I'm french (but willing to learn english)!!
I'm posting this because I would need some help on After Effects CC, and I would appreciate the help of your community
For scholar reasons, I couldn't use this software during 10 months. Today I've been led to use it again, but... strangely, I got many problems with my plugins effects.
For example, when I launch AE, this error window pops :
Furthermore, when I'm compositing, it seems that several basic effects are missing. For example, I can't use the "Brightness & Contrast", because it's "missing".
On the other hand, there are effects that are still here (for example, Color Balance is still working)...
Do you know what I could do in order to "reinstall" all the basic effects that are missing ?

Thank you very much for your answer. I reinstalled the program and checked my system's user privileges, but it didn't fix my problem. However, I realized that many effects were duplicated at several locations on my hard drive. So I deleted all superfluous copies, and now everything is working. :-)
But, unfortunately, another problem has occured... Indeed, when I ask AE to open my most complicated composition, I got a series of error windows, and then After Effects crashes.
Now, what puzzles me is that in every other compositions, the plug-ins "Photocopy" and "Spill Killer" are working perfectly well...
Do you know what I can do about it ? :-//

Problems with "find nearby missing photos", not working like it should in LR4

After I imported photos into LR4 I decided to split the event within the same folder creating 2 subfolders and proceeded to move the files within the finder. Went to LR4 and synchronized the folder but it didn't fix the file location on the missing files. So I tried finding individual files and checked the "Find nearby missing photos" but this doesn't seem to work like it did in LR3, because it won't find any nearby missing files even though they are right there new to each other in the same folder.
I don't want to dremove them and re-import because I have added ratings and I fear I would loose this info if I did that...

Your assumption that you would loose your ratings and develop settings is correct, if you would re-import.
Reimporting is never a good idea.
For the rest you have two alternatives: either you reconnect one image after another, or you undo on OS level what you did in the first place, then execute the move inside LR.
Depending on how many images you moved this could actually be the fastest route out.
"Find nearby missing photos" did not work reliably for me either in LR3. I have never found out when it did and when not, so I have preferred to learn how to perform any such operation inside LR.
Another valid question is why you do not use collections for your desired split , and leave the folders as they were.
According to my prejudice MAC users would not be as conservative in sticking to folder structures as Windows users..;-))
Once you master LR folders could be very unimportant storage buckets, as every angle for organizing your images would be covered by (smart) collections and keywords and other metadata.

Adobe After Effects CS3 does not work on my new iMac

Hello everyone,
I recently bought myself a new iMac and Adobe After Effects CS3, and guess what, the stuff does not work. I've tried almost everything, been on a lot of forums but can't seem to find any solution. One thing that keeps coming back is that it has to do with the Geforce 8800 GT in my iMac, some kind of compatibility problem between both.
The problem is this, whenever I start AE CS3, a window pops up, stating "Out of Memory ( 23 :: 40 )".
And then something about licensing, but I guess I can skip that window, since that clearly has nothing to do with the problem.
Are there some beta drivers or something for my videocard that I can download somewhere to maybe get rid of this problem?

After Effects CS6 does not work on Mac OS 10.9.1 Maverick

I made the mistake of updating my OS not realizing that After Effects wasn't going work. Short of backing up to disk my data and reinstalling an older OS, what do I do now? I'm in the middle of a project and this is casusing me problems. HALP :-/

IOBluetoothHCIController missing + Bluetooth not working - WhatToDo?

My bluetooth devices are not working,
The BT menu topright says bluetooth not available.
On verbose-boot I see the message:
IOBluetoothHCIController missing Bluethooth Controller Transport
Can anyone suggest how I can fix this without reformatting my boot-drive and reinstalling Mavericks?

Boot into recovery mode and simply reinstall the OS. No need to erase and reformat.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
how are you getting the slideshow into iDVD?
what size slideshow did you send to iDVD?
can you export the slideshow to the Desktop and play it with Quicktime Player there?
what fixes have you tried?
how much free space on your boot drive?
Here's how you should create and sent a slideshow to iDVD from iPhoto:
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Surrond effects (DTS/DD) not working

I've got some problems getting DTS/DD effects working on my Logitech Z-5500 sound system (connected through SPDIF). My sound system have an lcd panel which shows current input, effect and so on. I've two samples with DTS and DD sound, but every time I play those sound effect defaults to stereo x2 or is completely silenced. Note that those samples works with DTS and DD effect out of the box on Windows 7 using vlc player so it's not an hardware issue. I haven't found any helpful solution on the wiki or internet yet so I'm begging you for any configuration tips! I'm using KDE with Pulseaudio, recently updated. Players that I've tested: vlc, mplayer, xbmc (so I don't think it is media player related) Thank you!

I have tested both with 6 and 2 channels (I suppose that I should choose 2 channels for the spdif output). The analog connection works fine with the 5.1 sound. I know that I can only get the stereo output through spdif, but my sound system is still capable of DD and DTS playback which is working correctly under Windows.
Well, I could use ALSA if it is possible to get multiple sound outputs at once (sound from flash content, media players, etc.) and application separate volume control. If it's possible to get it on ALSA and get the DD/DTS effects without any bigger struggle, I can give it a try!

Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:

If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

Effects panel is not working on editable text? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Trouble shooting this with even starting with a new box and still having the problem.

In order to apply Effects to text, Muse needs to rasterize the text into an image. Therefore, Effects on text will only works if you have chosen a System Font or if you have rotated your text - both of which force the text to be rasterized. The ability to select an Effect for Web Fonts or Web Safe Fonts depends on browser compatibility which is not equal for all browser platforms as compatibility with CSS on browsers is something which Muse cannot control within its design , We allow users to apply it to text using System Fonts because we are already rasterizing the text frame.
If you want effect on the text frame you have to add a stroke.

Suppress Missing Data not work in web form with formula column inside

Dear All,
I've a planning web form with formula column inside to calculate the variance and % variance. But missing cell can't be suppressed, although I've checked the 'Suppress Missing Blocks' and 'Suppress Missing Data' options.
Anyone have face the same problem..?? and how to fixed it..??

There is a known issue that sounds like the problem you are experiencing
10358200 - If a formula column exists in a data form, selecting the Suppress missing option does not hide rows that do not contain data.

Tooltip Fade Effect in IE7 Not Working
