Map doesn't appear in Manage My Places

My "places" in iPhoto seem to be functioning OK except that when I click on Manage My Places no map appears to the right of the list of My Places - there is just a dark grey square. Any ideas what theporblem could be?

If I deliberately break the internet connection and then re-connect the map appears. Hardly a stisfactory solution though.

Google Map doesn't appear automatically when a prompt changes value

Hi everybody,
I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 updated to 11.1.1.6.1 and I'm facing a curious problem.
I created a dashboard with three sections.
In the first section there is a prompt which shows the Top number of providers.
In the second section there is a table on the left side which shows how many members we have for each provider, and a pie chart on the right side.
In the third section there is a narrative view used to see a google map with ALL the providers' locations. This map have to show ALWAYS ALL the locations (no matter what I selected as Top number of providers, so it will be always the same).
So, when I change the Top number of providers, the table and the pie chart refresh automatically, but the map doesn't refresh, or better it doesn't appear ! (I don't see the map anymore, I see a white space....). To see it again, I have to refresh the entire page.....
This functionality worked in the past, but with this version it seems that it doesn't work properly....
Has anyone faced an issue like this using the narrative views with google maps ??? This is a problem that I need to solve urgently.

It looks to me like this has nothing to do with the digital signature prompt and everything to do with a badly formed URL. In a URL the domain name is not case sensitive but all the path information is case sensitive. Whether one should use http://www.mycompany.com/Abc/Xyz/ or http://www.mycompany.com/abc/xyz/ depends only on what the HTTP server expects. So which of these does the HTTP server expect?

The new apple maps doesn't show directions to any place in my city

You, me and a whole bunch of other people have encountered the same problem. Deleting the com.apple.iphoto.plist preference file, which worked in the past, has not resolved the problem for most of us. You might keep your eye on this discussion for updates:

Satellite X200 20G - Fn pop-up screen doesn't appear anymore

(I made a post on this subject yesterday evening but I cannot find it anywhere.... sorry if both appear later)
I would need your help as the pop-up screen with the Function keys doesn't appear anymore when I place the cursor on the top of my screen....
I don't think I have changed any settings. I have installed the SP1 for Vista but I cannot tell if this is linked.
I found Toshiba "Accessibility", but when I click on the accessibility icon, I get a Toshiba Accessibility Error screen telling "This system, can not use Toshiba Accessibility" ...
Could you please advise?

I Have a X200-212 running Vista w/out SP1.
When I was upgrading drivers(after i buy it) i somehow lost the FN function and the popup toolbar. That happened after i installed or update(dont remenber) the toshiba bluetooth stack.
I unisntalled the toshiba bluetooth stack and installed the windows vista bluetooth support as an alternative, and the FN thingy started to work again.
But in your case im guessing its something related to the sp1 ?:| ,lets see if Toshiba updates the X200 drivers to support the Vista SP1.

Make sure that you have enabled (checked) Advanced Tools in the General tab under the iMovie menu item "iMovie>Preferences".
Also, a Picture-in-Picture (PIP) can be inserted only into clips in a project - not clips in an Event.

Enterprise Manager 10g DBControl - Listener doesn't appear on home page

I have a testing system, running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 2 with an Oracle DB 10g v10.2.0.3.0 installed. A few days before today I found out that I don't have the link with the listener on the Enterprise Manager DBControl home page. I'm attaching a print screen with the image I have on the home page.

I didn't observe if this problem got from the initial installation, but I think it didn't, as this was a clean system and everything should have worked fine. Yet, since the initial installation the system got into some changes regarding the Operating System and I refer to the name of the server by joining a domain and got added the suffix of the domain. The listener works fine, I can connect from any workstation and do whatever I want, but the link with the listener doesn't appear from anyplace I try to connect and do something.
Please help me if you know any solution regarding this.

Hello and sorry for being late with an answer.
I solved the problem so now I can't try the last solution to see if it helps. The solution I chosed was to deconfigure the DBControl with EM and then reconfigure it back.
On one hand this helped solving the problem, but on the other hand all the settings made in EM got lost. There was no problem losing these settings as this was a test system. If it would have been a productive system having more settings in EM I don't think I'd choose the same solution I mentioned above.
I'll mark the question as answered but mentioning once again that I don't recommend this for a productive system.

IPhoto's 'Manage my Places' has stopped showing map and pins!!!?

I am using iPhoto '11 version 9.2.3.
Recently I stupidly decided to undertake the task of adding location info to all of my extensive library, spanning approx 15 years and a ridiculous amount of individual locations.
Anyway this task will now eat away at me until i have completed it, (or something similarly unnecesary takes over)
So, i've been at it for a few weeks now, but all of a sudden today (haven't been on it for a few days so may have started a little while back) i am now unable to edit the size of the 'vicinity' around a pin.
I am selecting 'Manage my Places' tool from the 'Window' menu at the top of the screen as i was before. But now, when the list of my places comes up, to the right, there is no longer a map with the pins from the hilighted 'place'.... it is just grey as the pic below shows.....
This is now hugely frustrating for me, as you can imagine. Does anyone know anything about this? or are having the same issue?

I had the same problem with IPhoto '09 8.1.2 The maps in Places disappeared on June 2nd.
I was able to fix Places by DOWNLOADING SAFARI and RE-INSTALLING.
A Best Buy Geek Squad tech fixed my Places on June 3rd. He told me the problem was with Safari, not IPhoto. However, I don't know what he did to fix the problem. (He could not have re-installed Safari without me knowing)
Unfortunately, the maps disappeared a week later. I used the Geek Squad again, but could not contact the same tech. Several techs tried, but could not fix Places. The last tech directed me to Apple.com.
I was able to restore the maps for the individual pictures from discussions on Apple.com by turning the WiFi off and on. The large world map did not return.
On June 24th, I went to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. Interestingly they were unaware of the Places problems. When I mention that a tech said the problem was Safari, not IPhoto, he suggested that I try downloading Safari and re-installing. Well that worked! So far it is still okay.

No maps in "manage my places"

I have the very latest version of iPhoto under 10.8.
In the window manage my places, the maps are not shown! Just blank. This was also with previous versions, I was hoping it would be solved in the newest iPhoto.

What "newest iPhoto". It's on version 1.0.1.
This is iPhoto for iOS, not OSX. Despite having the same name, they are completely different programs. You should repost your question in the iLife/iPhoto area.

IPod doesn't appear in iTunes or Device Manager.

My iPod has worked fine, until I plugged it into my computer, and attempted to upgrade to version 1.1.4, now my iPod touch doesn't appear when I plug it into my computer. It doesn't appear in iTunes, or in the device manager, it does however start charging. Also, it has completely wiped the enitire memory (Music, photos, videos etc).
I have tryed the "5 R's", restart, reset etc etc. None of it works. I have tryed re-installing everything (iTune, quicktime, etc) and that doesn't work.
I've tryed hard and soft resets, and I've tryed restarting the Apple Mobile Device thingy.

I figured it out
You have to put you iPod in recovery mode.
You do this by...
Turning off your iPod properly (hold the top button in for 6 seconds, slide the slider)
Then you hold the home button, an while your still holding it down, connect to your computer.
Keep holding, keep holding when the apple comes up, keep holdin until you see the 'Like to iTunes' picture.
Then iTunes should say it detects an iPod in recovery mode, an it should happen from there

Non Functional Wireless Adapter: Visible and Functional According to Device Manager Doesn't Appear in IPConfig

Hi all,
This one has me completely lost. The user normally connects via a USB wireless adapter, which stopped working a few days ago apparently of its own accord. The device is detected and reported as working by both Device Manager, and the Network Connections
menu, however it doesn't appear at all in ipconfig- Not even to say that it isn't connected to anything. When I try to connect to a network, it reports no connections available as if it was out of range. However, I'm sitting right under a known working access
point.
The device is enabled in devmgmt, there is no physical switch to disable it, and the adapter itself is tested as working both on different hardware running Windows 7 and 8, and the same hardware running Slax Linux. Wired connectivity to the affected machine
appears to be fully functional, which leads me to discount the TCP/IP stack.
I've tried the default PnP driver, the driver that came with the device on a mini-CD, and the latest driver from the manufacturer. I've also tried a completely separate USB wireless adapter, made by a different manufacturer, which proved to have the same
problem with identical symptoms.
I've been through power settings, it is set to Maximum Performance as per the default. I've checked the WLAN autoconfig service, which is running and starting automatically as it always has. I've even checked registry settings suggested elsewhere on technet,
and those are fine. System restore produced no results. Virus scan came back clean.
The only two things that seem unusual are A) the fact that the adapter doesn't appear at all in ipconfig, and that Cisco AnyConnect VPN client begins complaining in the event viewer, error description "ROUTTABLE_ERROR_GETBESTROUTE_FAILED" - Presumably
due to the sudden lack of usable interfaces
With all this, I'm out of ideas. Thanks for reading, and any suggestions (even insane ones) would be much appreciated.

Ipod appear in my computer when disconnected, doesn't appear when connected?

It's impossible to add songs to my ipod because when i connect the ipod the taskbar says it's connects however it doesn't appear in itunes or in "my computer". In addition to that it takes million and a half years to eject it from the task bar. I've managed to disconnect it properly maybe twice. at first i thought it was that the drivers need to be reinstalled. but after waiting for an entire day for it to respond i disconnected it improperly and suddenly the ipod icon appeared in my computer and actually stayed there for a while while the ipod was disconnected. as soon as i reconnect it the ipod disappears. im thinking the computer is slow to respond to it since it immediately opens itunes when i disconnect it after waiting for hours.

The USB host controller maybe hung by the Antivirus or a slow CPU, with low RAM.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC. (don't use USB hub or the USB port at the front of your PC).
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

Manage My Places/Google Search in iPhoto has stopped working. I have always had my Look Up Places Preference set to Never. Any ideas?

That's not my experience Larry, although I'm not an expert. It was one of your earlier responses to someone else that made me check this preference out. However, I've set it to automatically and google search in Manage My Places doesn't work and the "find on map" option on the photo information tab doesn't work.
What does works with it set to automatically is if I enter "Merida, Mexico" in the photo place it will list a number of towns called Merida and I can select the Mexican one. If I enter "Calle 49, Merida, Mexico" it doesn't list anything but it does offer the "find on map" option. If I select this it loops.
I've checked my software updates and nothing on my Mac has changed in the time between this working and ceasing to work. I'm just trying to establish if anyone else has experienced difficulty with the google search under manage my places in iPhoto recently.

No places in "Manage my Places"

I have placed a number of pins around the places map for some different projects. These are all given names that bare no reference to the place except the country or some other random road name. If I go into Manage my places, none of my pins appear and I therefore cannot rename them. Am I doing something wrong?

edit: I just noticed that if I deselect everything from the sidebar and then choose places from the toolbar (its greyed out if anything in the sidebar is selected) none of my pins are there. If I choose places from the sidebar the pins appear on the map...

I have some similar weirdness going on. The GPS information is correct but the name is not some are not. This would not be nearly as annoying as it is if it was possible to edit that name but I have searched for hours and have not found a place to edit the name. In my case the images were shot in Mexico and the GPS information says Mexico but the place name on some of the images are locations within a 15 mile radius of my house. Just bizarre
