Mapping a parameter to the form field (OIM 11g)

Hello, people!
How can I get an information from a created form field?
In more details: I have to assign a manual creating of a resource to a concrete group of users. So I made a form that contains a field named "Admin Group", made a process for this form that contains a manual task "manual create user", in assignment tab of this task I'm using a task assignment adapter. This adapter has one input parameter - Group name using what I want to find a group key. So the problem is in mapping this parameter. I expected to find my "Admin Group" field and map to it, but i didn't find that. How can I get information from this field?

I think you have created Object Form. Are you seeing Object Data while mapping.
Create one process form. Populate Process Form Field using Data Flow under Process Definition.
While mapping you'll see Process data to map with your Admin Group.
Sorry don't know how they have handled in OIM 11g... Above is for 10g.

Is there any api to modify the form field in PDF?

Our client need we provide the editable PDF, i.e. some form fields in the PDF report can be edit. Now we created the PDF template and merged it with the XML data definition in Jdeveloper, but when we get the final PDF report, we found that the PDF form field property is changed to "Read-Only" automatically. We make sure that in PDF template the form field is not "Read-Only", something happened when we merging the XML data and the PDF template.
Now we wonder if there is any API can help us to modify the PDF form field property, after we merge the XML data and PDF template, we can use it to change the form fields to editable, not "Read-Only".

How do I add borders to the form fields in the checkout page of my BC shop?

I am setting up my Shop for my website www.myartscreative.com. So far, so good. I am testing out going through the steps of ordering a copy of my sketch book, adding the appropriate shipping, etc. However, I notice when testing the checkout page, most of the fields do not have a border around them which makes it hard to see where to fill in the pertinent info. How do I add a border or fill (or both) the form fields so my customer can easily see where to type in their information? Here is the link to my shop's "check out page".

Ok, got it! So, I kind of figured it out by going into the Develop tab in the BC Admin and going into the modulestylesheets.css and modifying that. Check the link above again and you will now see the borders around the input fields. Probably no big deal to you pro's out there, but I am a total newbie up to this point. Thanks again!

How do I create a form field ONLY template in Acrobat 9 Pro that will let the user enter and print only the form field data on a pre-printed form?

This template will be used to type in information that will then be printed on an agency's official, barcoded form loaded in a printer (instead of blank paper.) Only the user-entered info should print on the pre-printed form. Users will use Adobe Reader to complete their templates; they do not have Acrobat. Thank you!

Can I port content from one pdf form to another, from within the form fields?

WE have been given a seasonal update to our pdf forms - with one new additional form field. Is there a way that I can port all the content from my ready filled form into this new one, without having to copy and paste each individual field?

What is it that you want to do
- you are the form filler; you want to keep the contents of a filled in form (and put them back into a changed form)?
- you are the person responsible for adding/changing form fields; you want to keep the design and location of the form fields while changing the underlying PDF?
- both of these?

Form with report, update field in the form = field is not updated in table

I have a form with report. On Primary Key in the report is a link to the form. I select one row in the form by choosing the link in the report. Then I update a field in the form and press "Save". I see the success message "Action processed" and I'll be back in the report. I see the field in the report with it's old content. It is not updated. I don't understand why. Can anybody help me?

Is the form field source set to the proper database column? It's either not properly defined or your Save button and the builtin update process have somehow become disconnected. Check to make sure that the Save button is set to perform an Update in the database operations setting.

How does one strip out all Live Cycle data from a PDF and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat?

Someone in a different department built a bunch of forms in Live Cycle. We now need to make minor edits to these forms but we all have Macs and can't use Live Cycle. Currently our only option to change a date and a name on each form is to buy a new Windows workstation, buy a copy of Live Cycle and train someone for it.
I understand the Live Cycle technology and Acrobat technology for forms are somehow different but there must be a way to just strip out all the Live Cycle form programming so that I just have the bare PDF with the text and layout. Then make the text edits and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat.

It depends on your PDF. Is the PDF a static XFA or a dynamic XFA?
You can check to see if the PDF is static/dynamic by clicking File=>Save As, and it should say static or dynamic PDF as file type.
iText will work with Static XFA forms created in LiveCycle. Dynamic XFA forms are not supported.
You can also submit XML data to a server side script and parse the XML data using C# system.xml.xmlreader.

How to view the Form Fields in Process data model?

I have made a form in LC Designer containing some name,ID and other generic details.Is there a way by which i can see those nodes in Proces data model when i load that document?.As of now it shows only attribute as Object. Can't I access those fields like name, id etc thru model directly.??

You have to define an XML Schema for the form and bind the form fields to the XML Schema. Additionally, embedding the XML Schema in the form makes life easier.
Given an XML Schema you will be able to navigate through the document hierarchy and access form fields in the XPath navigator.

I have a user on Adobe Reader X. whenever they open a .pdf file, the form fields do not auto-fill until you click in the box. Is there a setting that can be changed to make the form open properly?

Sounds like the form fields were filled in on a Mac using Mac Preview. This cannot be fixed in Reader only Acrobat. Ask the person who filled in the form to redo their work in Adobe Reader.

Can I script an email button to put one of the form fields in the subject line and to name the form?

This is a fillable form on a website. We want people to complete the form, then click on the email button to send it to us. Prefer to have the "name" field populate in the "subject line" of the email, and also rename the form that same field name. Is that possible?

In the sample I used the below syntax to send an email..

The highlighted ones are local variables which will hold the value from the form fields.
If you want to get the Subject from Name field in the form, use some thing like this.

How to Supply the form field values to a pdf form when loading it

I am working on a web site project using Asp.net where the user has to fill in a PDF eform in acrobat reader. Then when he clicks on submit it returns to my asp.net app and the PDF form supplies the values back to my asp.net app. So my asp.net app has the values that were filled in the PDF form and can save those values and work with them...
OK.
What I need to know is when I am in my asp.net app, and the user wants to go back and reopen the same form, from my asp.net app..... then how do I pass back the values that were saved back to the PDF form??
I know if I had a way to pass the values to the PDF form in some way then in the Doc.open or doc.load event of the form I could easily write a little javascript to plug in the values in the PDF form fields.
but how do I pass those values from my asp.net app to my PDF form???

Thanks bcweed for all the info. I fixed my problem, it had something to do with LiveCycle Designer. If I just use Acrobat to add the form fields, then the FDF works fine. As to your situation with the SavToBuf, that happens to be the method that I am using, so I will just post my code here, and maybe you can pick out what is different from yours. The Response.BinaryWrite(FDFin.FDFSaveToBuf)is at the bottom.

Is it possible to have copy to clipboard take entries in text boxes on a fillable form as well as the form fields Windows?

Is it possible to have copy to clipboard take entries in text boxes on a fillable form as well as the form fields in Adobe Reader Windows? When I create the forms is there some javascript or possibly a setting that would allow the end user to copy to clipboard the form fields and their entered text. Or another option that would work is to have only the entries in the text boxes copy to clipboard. Is that even possible?

Copying fields is not possible in Reader.

Use of 'Run macro' in the form field dialog

Hi Tim,
Can you please explain the use of the 'Run macro on' on the form field dialog box in the XMLP template.
One can see the following on the 'Text Form Field Options' dialog box:

The above are option values in it. Please explain their usage. I couldnot find anything about it in the XMLP Guide. I am currently using XMLP 5.5 with EBS 11.5.10

Form fields are not an XMLP feature. They are part of MS word. Look at the MS doco for information on it. I doubt there is a way that can be used in conjunction with XMLP however.

I'm getting a strange error with a simple file upload and I
can't figure it out for the life of me. It's odd, because old code
I have written before has worked fine in this area, and I really
honestly can't see where I am going wrong.
First the error:

I have researched this and found other people have had the
same problem - although please be aware that I do not beleive this
to be an issue with whatever version of CF I am running. I have
still not found an answer.
I have one template with my form called
"admin_create_property.cfm". When the form posts it invokes a CFC
method that uploads the file and inserts stuff into the database.
However, it dies at the file upload part with that bizzarre error.
There are only two files working in this:
admin_create_property.cfm
query.cfc
I will write the code out for these so you can see. Please
see attached code. Please note that I have taken out as much
irrelevant code as possible (html, doctypes etc etc).
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I am
absolutley stumped to be quite honest. I've heard people say it
could be any of the following:
1 - Need to use enctype="multipart/form-data" - which I DO
2 - cffile filefield can't contain ## - which it DOESN'T
3 - Inut type must be file - which it clearly is.
Please please help, I feel stupid asking about this but I
need you guys more than ever!

I don't get what you mean as this is what I am doing.
<cfinvokeargument name="image" value="#form.image#" />
This takes the value of the image file field and passes it to
the CFC as an argument.
Am I doing something wrong with this? Sorry for my
stupidness!

EDIT: Interestingly enough, if I just use the tag on my
"admin_create_property.cfm" page instead of using the CFC method
like this...

It seems to upload the image just fine. Why then would this
