Mapping IDoc in Web Service structure

Hey,
now I got general question about mapping:
I'm using the SAPRDI02 IDoc to send print data to PI. This should be mapped to the web service structure then.
The IDoc contains the text elements of the sap script and the value of these elements.
The Web service has some structures and one structure for the document content. this structure has some general
fields to describe the type of document, which should be printed and a field for the content of the document. This field
expects unformated XML.
My question now is, how I should do the mapping best. Do you think it's possible to do it with the graphical tool, or should
I use XSLT, Java or ABAP mapping?
I think, the data from the IDoc would be something like this:
E1RDID
  SYMNAME
  SYMVALUE
The structure of the web service form content is something like this:
Printforms
  Printform
    Formtype
    FormContent
    Priority
And as I understand it, the XML content for the field "FormContent" should be something like this:
<FormField1>contentOfFormField1</FormField1>
or
<FormField1 value = 'contentOfFormField1' />
So the fields SYMNAME and SYMVALUE should be transferred to this structure and then to the field "FormContent"
in the webservice.
Any idea how I do this in the best way?
THANK YOU!
Michael

Hi Rodrigo,
how do I create the XML tags? The XML-tag name should be the content of SYMNAME and the tag value should be
the content of SYMVALUE.
Like this:
<SYMNAME>SYMVALUE</SYMNAME>
And in the IDoc, Symname and Symvalue are part of a structure, and each line is one symname/symvalue couple. That means,
all the lines of this segment should later be just one field value of FormContent in the webservice....
Example:
Line1:
SYMNAME --> testField1
SYMVALUE --> testContent1
Line2:
SYMNAME --> festField2
SYMVALUE --> testContent2
And this should later result in:
<testField1>testConent1</testField1><testField2>testContent2</testField2>
Sorry, it's a bit hard to explain...

  • Support Web Service structures

    Hi,
A half year ago I got the following answer on a OSS message! The question was due to the missing support of Web Dynpro for a Web Service structure. The answer was this:
<i>Currently we do not support this feature.
A new Web Service Model implementation is planned to be released.
As design for this implementation is currently ongoing it is not
possible to make a final statement about the WSDL and XML schema
    constructs which will be supported.</i>
My question is. Does anyone know more about this new implementation. When will it be released? Which schema constructs are supported? Any information is welcome.

  • IDOC or Web service for Vendor creation/updation from XI to R/3

    Hi,
We have a scenario whereby the vendor master details in R/3 need to be created/updated by the data sent from XI. We are on XI 3.0 and R/3 ECC5.
The options that we need to analyse best suiting the requirement are whether to use Web Service or whether to use IDOC.
I am not very experienced in the usage of Web Service so it will be very helpful if you could please help me with the scenario build up and how it will update the records in R/3.
From the point of view of the IDOC usage, the standard IDOC CREMAS03 is available to update the Vendor master data whereby the data is sent to XI in XML format and the data is mapped to IDOC structure and pushed out to R/3. I have checked the SDN forums and there have been discussions baout certain settings that need to be configured first to enable this IDOC scenario.
Can you please help me in analysing which option to go for and what are the pros and cons of both and the complexity of implementation and if there are any rerequisites that need to be met for either option?
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Archana

    Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions and I personnaly favour the IDOC. However, the solution is not only looking at creating new Vendors in the R/3 system but also looking at updating the existing Vendors with the incoming data form the 3rd party.
Can the same standard IDOC create and update the vendors or do I need to look at 2 different IDOCs?
There will be a daily polling of data files via XI. The file format is going to be .txt and will be comma seperated.
Is there any way of checking in XI itself the file duplication before transferring the data to R/3 as and when the files are received?
On R/3 side, we were currently thinking of going forward with ABAP proxy which can create IDOC and then send the mail or somehow inform the business that some data was incorrect and therefore the IDOC's were not created for them or should we do it via RFC?
We will also go forward with the custom table contianing the file names received till now to check for the sequence serial number.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Archana

  • IDoc - XI - Web Service configuration

    Hallo
This is the problem we are facing :
We get an IDoc as Inbound, do some mapping and then send it to a WebService. The problem is that when we do so, we get a series of errors. Apparently the problem is that when the web service receives our messages it replies with a (simple) message as well. The point is that as far as I know IDocs cannot be configured for synchronous mode, (and when we tried it we failed) so we have nothing to do with the incoming message.
these are the messages from the Integration Monitoring/Message Monitoring
    Error Category OUTBINDING
    Error Code CO_TXT_ROUTING_BACK_ERROR
We don't have access to the Receiver System and the WSDL file is sent by them

Actually, I don't know. I will look arround it and try your previous suggestions too.
    Just a not-so-XI question.
I tried to test the Web-Service using XML-SPY and the WSDL that they have provided for us. When I do so, i get an error 504, "HTTP error:could not POST file 'soap/CreateOrder' on server 'xx.xx.xx.xx' , where http://xx.xx.xx.xx:80/soap/CreateOrder is the URL that we are using during the configuration of XI. Would this imply that the error is that we just have wrong URL (but how since it is retrieve from the WSDL itself?).

  • IDOC to Web Service

We currently have an IDOC in our R/3 System. Whether it is possible for us to convert the IDOC functionality into a WEB Service, if possible how to perform the Task.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    >>>>How to convert an IDOC routine into a WEB SERVICE?
    you don't do that
with XI the flow will look like that:
on XI you will publish a web service (so everything will be able to call it)
then XI will map the web service call to standard IDOC
then XI will send this IDOC to r3 as a standard IDOC
so as you see you don't need to modify anything in R3
as for R3 this will be the same IDOC
if you want the other way (IDOC to WS)
it will look very similarly but in the reversed direction

  • WebMethods consuming iDoc create web service

    Hi ya
Third time lucky with this post!
I would like to recieve sales orders asynchronously via an iDoc (ORDERS/ORDERS05).  We don't have XI but webMethods and I would prefer to use a web service rather than RFC.
So far I have proved the concept works without XI by exposing the IDOC_INBOUND_SINGLE as a web service which works OK with the WSDL.  However, this approach only offers the WSDL as the iDoc structure (EDIDC and EDID4).  Where as, I would like to expose a service that produces the WSDL in the ORDERS05 layout.
    Any ideas.
    Ta... JR

    Hi Joe,
One possible methodology you can use is Virtual Interfaces, see SAP Help how-to guide:
With this option, you can create a web service view of your function module that suitable for your consumer party by exposing / not exposing import parameters (as required). If the exposed checkbox is unchecked, the parameter won't reflect in the WSDL used by your consumer, so they will only see (and pass through in the request) what you specify for them. Your function module will still remain the same, except now you will need to default values for the parameters that you have not exposed.

  • How do I update web service structures?

I have an EJB that exposes a few business methods. I've also created an unauthenticated web service that exposes a couple of the business methods.  This all works fine, and has been deployed to another runtime environment.
I've now made some changes to one of the underlying structures that is returned by the EJB.  How do I update the web service to now return the new structure?  The genereated wsdl does not contain the new updated structure, so I can't get at the new values I've added to the structure.  I understand that changing a structure that is currently being used by a web service is not the best thing to do, but in this case I'm ok since the web service it not yet being used.
I've tried dropping the wsdl and re-creating it from scratch, but then I get the message 'item not described in the schema' - since the EJB, structure, and Web Service are all in the same EAR, how can this be possible?  It's almost as if the VI isn't being updated correctly.
    I'm on NW2004s/sp10.
    Suggestions?

    Hi Ken,
Even I have faced similar problem in the past. The sure way to change schema in WebService is create VI again and re-redploy the web service.
    Hope it works

    Hi,
your SOAP action defined in reciver SOAP comm channel is not correct.... to specify it corrctly, open your SOAP application URL in internet explorer........click on service description..........then search SOAP:Action node in it.........specify the complete SOAP action in the reciver SOAP comm channel including the complete namespace.............then save and activate it.........then rerun your scenario.

  • Calculations in Xcelsius using data generated by a Web Service Connection

    Hi,
I have set up a web service connection to pull in 4 columns of data: 1. CATEGORY  2. SUBCATEGORY 3. PRODUCT TYPE   4.#OFCALLS.  There will be anywhere from 1 to 500 rows of data depending on day of week and time of day.  The web service sorts the list by #OFCALLS descending. The OUTPUT VALUES of the web service connection are mapped to cells A19:D518.
Formulas in the spreadsheet take the Top 10 from the list and populate it to cells  A4:D13.  A formula in cell D15 sums the #OFCALLS for the entire web service connection output (A19:D518).
The data in A4:D15 is mapped to a spreadsheet table on my canvas.   When the report generates, the data from the TOP 10 of the web service connection populates properly, but the cell that should reflect the TOTAL#OFCALLS (D15) shows zero.
Is it not possible to do additional calculations in the spreadsheet based on data generated by the web service connection?  A major difference between using an XML Map and a Web Service Connection is the XML Map actually populates the spreadsheet with the new data when it is refreshed.  The Web Service connection data never actually appears in the spreadsheet itself, even though it updates to the appropriate vessel on the canvas.   This makes me think that no additional calculations can be done in the spreadsheet based on the web service connection data.
Can anyone tell me if that is correct?  If so, then the web service connection would also have to pull in the TOTAL#OFCALLS along with the other data.   This would also seem to greatly limit what you could do with data generated by a web service connection, so I am hoping I am wrong and just don't understand how to do this.
Can anyone clarify this for me?  If I failed to give any pertinent info let me know what it is, and I will update my post.
    Thanks!

I have seen similar behavior as well.  I have live data coming into Xcelsius from a data connection.
    A supported Excel formula
    =IF(ISBLANK(J2),I2,VALUE(TODAY()-J2))
is then applied to one of the columns to create an additional derived column.
Taking a snapshot of the data shows that the derived column is being populated, however the controls I've tried hooking up to the derived column (charts and labels) are always empty.
Information on whether this is supported would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    David

  • (261936172) Q general Where are the Web Service source files?

Q <general> Where are the source files for a Web Service created
with WebLogic Workshop stored? How do I deploy the Web Service
on a different WebLogic Server? Is there a way to bundle the
Web Service project files manually to distribute them?
Is there a way to configure the directory where Workshop stores
    the files?
ANSWER: (by Adam Fitzgerald, [email protected]) The .jws files are stored
in the project folder. This can be located on a local system, although by default
they are in c:\bea\wlserver700b\sample\workshop\applications. The Web Service
structure is understood by WLS 7.0 so by archiving the appropriate folder you
can transfer the Web Service in its entirety from one deployment to another.

  • Java Web Services and hosting companies

    Hi
At this moment I am looking for a web hosting companies.
I will be developing website in Java and I will also develop Web Services.
Can you tell if I am able to host Web Services with any hosting company that supports Java. Or is there any special requirement on the behalf of the hosting companies to support Web Services written in Java

    No Problem at all
Nomally the Web Service is big different between Web application. or you can build your Web service structure like web application structure. It depends on the web server:
If the Web Server of hosting company has WEB Service framework, you just need know how to deploy your Web service to Web Service framework and How to deploy to Web Server. In this case, you need deploy it two time, one is for Web Server framework and one is for Web Service framework
If the Web Server of hosting company doesn't has WEB Service framework, you need build your own Web Service framework into a web application, then you just need know how to deploy your web application with Web service into Web Server framework

  • Java Web Services wrapper and connection management.

We are currently evaluating the use of the SES Java web-services for a custom front end. I've downloaded the sample code and have read through the documentation but I'm confused on a few points.
We will be OSSO protecting the app, so the flow I think I need to use is (on the OracleSearchService object):
    *setSoapURL
    *proxyLogin
    *setSearchUser
    *doOracleSearch
    (do whatever with results)
From what I can tell each one of these does a separate call into the actual web service. Does this keep a connection open between these calls and if so how do we need to manage our connections in this case. Is there an explicit close method we should be calling? I see that we can get an OracleSoapHTTPConnection from the undocumented getConnection method on OracleSearchService but I'm unsure if we are supposed to interact with it directly.
In a related vein how should we managing our OracleSearchService objects? Should we save an instance for each user in our httpSession, or just create a new instance on each call?
    Any insights appreciated,
    Jason
