Mapping routine in ABAP OO

Hi,
I created a transformation in BI and need to fill one field with a value read from a master data table.
In the version 3.X this could be done with following ABAP routine:
tables: /BI0/PGL_ACCOUNT.
data: wa type /BI0/PGL_ACCOUNT.
     select single * from /BI0/PGL_ACCOUNT into wa
        where
        CHRT_ACCTS =  'KN01' and
        GL_ACCOUNT = '0000000001' and
        OBJVERS = 'A'.
     If sy-subrc = 0.
        RESULT = wa-/BIC/ZGRUP.
     else.
         RESULT = '0000999999'.
     endif.
But in 7.0 the routine should be OO.
Can someone help me to transform the code to OO ABAP and help me to place it in the right class/methods section.
Thanks, Tomaz

Hi,
I made a little mistake. The select statement should be:
select single * from /BI0/PGL_ACCOUNT into wa
   where
   CHRT_ACCTS =  'KN01' and
   GL_ACCOUNT = <b>COMM_STRUCTURE-GL_ACCOUNT</b> and
   OBJVERS = 'A'.
In which structure the original records could be found?
Replacement for COMM_STRUCTURE or TRAN_STRUCTURE ??
How to debug this ??
Thanks, Tomaz

  • Performance of XSL Mapping in the ABAP Engine

    Hi All,
    Is the performance of XSL Mapping in the ABAP Engine better than java and graphical mapping. XSLT on the java stack has performance issue handling large documents.I want to know how far XSL Mapping in the ABAP Engine performs when compared to java/graphical mapping in the context of large inputs(>1MB).
    Anticipating your valuable inputs.

  • What is use of  Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary

    Hi,
    Can any body please tell me the proper use of <b>Conversion Routine in  Abap dictionary.</b>
    Please give me a practical example where it has been used.
    Thanks
    prabhudutta

    hi,
    here is help for conversion routine
    Conversion takes place when converting the contents of a screen field from display format to SAP-internal format and vice versa and when outputting with the ABAP statement WRITE, depending on the data type of the field.
    If standard conversion is not suitable, it can be overridden by specifying a conversion routine in the underlying domain.
    A conversion routine is identified by its five-place name and is stored as a group of two function modules. The function modules have a fixed naming convention. The following function modules are assigned to conversion routine xxxxx:
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_INPUT
    CONVERSION_EXIT_xxxxx_OUTPUT
    The INPUT module performs the conversion from display format to internal format. The OUTPUT module performs the conversion from internal format to display format.
    If a screen field refers to a domain with a conversion routine, this conversion routine is executed automatically each time an entry is made in this screen field or when values are displayed with this screen field.

    Raghavendra

  • Message Mapping of type ABAP Class not being shown

    Hi all,
    I have been trying to follow the given blog:
    /people/ravikumar.allampallam/blog/2005/02/10/different-types-of-mapping-in-xi
    Even after doing the changes mentioned in the blog, i do not see the ABAP Class in the list of Message Mapping types.
    Do i need to do anyother configuration. Pls guide.
    Regards
    Neetu

    Hi Neetu,
    You will have to enable your ABAP mapping first.
    Do the following steps, pay carefull attention to the values you enter,
    In
    IntegrationBuilder ->IntegrationBuilder.Repository -> com.sap.aii.repository.mapping.additionaltypes
    enter the value of
    R3_ABAP|Abapclass;R3_XSLT|XSL (ABAP Engine)
    If the above doesnt work, try Abap-class instead of Abapclass in the above line.
    And then follow the remaining steps, make sure that the above value is correct. Your ABAP mapping should appear in your Integration Repository.'
    I suggest you go through these links:

  • Mapping preferences between ABAP, JAVA, XSLT...?

    Hi,
    How do i choose between,
    ABAP Mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping..?
    Any pointers welcome..
    --DJ

    HI,
    JAVA Mapping :If you have complex mapping in your scenarios and also some times if you have more than 100 field tomap then better to choose the JAVA MApping.
    XSLT Mapping : Simple and if you have large size of messages then choose this type of XSLT mapping.
    ABAP Mapping : If your scenario is deals with ABAP / R3 related transactions , then choose ABAP Mapping ..
    Performance wise XSLT ,JAVA, ABAP order..

  • Error in ABAP Mapping (type SAP-ABAP, kernel error ID UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION)

    Hi ,
      Scenario:  Manually Purchase Order is created, automatically Sales Order should be created in the Target System through PI,
                       I have used Message Mapping which is working fine for single Customer and Vendor,
                       For Multiple Customers and Vendors i am using one ZTABLE, Only Message Mapping is not  sufficient to my requirement.
                      Now i am using both Message Mapping and   ABAP Mapping  at a time in Interface Mapping. I created the class and                done  the   development., whene  i run the scenario i am getting the error as below,
    *<SAP:Stack>Error in mapping program ZCL_SD_IDTO_POSO (type SAP-ABAP, kernel error ID UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION) An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause Dereferencing of the NULL reference</SAP:Stack>*

  • No restart capability during mapping failures in ABAP mapping

    I am doing ABAP mapping and would like to fail the ABAP mapping (during certain application scenarios) in such a way that message cannot be resent? Is this possible during the mapping.

    Hi Krish,
    My few cents.
    You can resend only the asynchronous scenarios.If you resend you need to develop the logic that in the resend the exception will not generate.
    From my point of view, if you want to throw a controlled exception you should do via UDF like this blog explains Throwing Smart Exceptions in XI Graphical Mapping
    If you work with ABAP mapping you have setting more difficulties if in the future your PI go to be upgraded to PI java only version stack.
    Hope this helps.

  • ABAP Server Proxy: Mapping XSD to ABAP

    Dear all,
    has anyone faces the follwoing problem?
    I make a  conversion of a field (length is 2) during a file content conversion of a sender file adapter. However in most cases the field is filled with only one character and a subsequent blank. The conversion cuts the space, so in my taret XML structure I will have a field of length 1 or 2, right?
    When I generate the corresponding inbound proxy (i have file to proxy scenario), the xml field of length 1-2 has to be mapped to a char array in ABAP. How long will this array be? I suppose it will have length 2. But what happens in the case that the subsequent blank has been **** during the conversion? Will the ABAP field be filled up was a blank again? (leading or subsequent?)
    Isn't it better in that case not to make any restrictions to the length of the string in the xml structure? In that case, i think in ABAP these field will have to be interpreted as dynamic string, right?
    What would you prefer?
    Kind regards
    Florian

    Hi Mahi,
    in that case i could also just prevent xi from trimming using that parametter:
    NameA.fieldContentFormatting
    ○       Enter trim to remove all the leading and subsequent blanks for a value found. This is the default.
    ○       Specify nothing to ensure that the value remains unaltered.
    However, id like to trimm those blanks, but i want to know how i can send them to the proxy without getting "new blanks"

  • [ABAP Mapping] Only with ABAP-Objects?

    Hi,
    found <a href="http://https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5c46ab90-0201-0010-42bd-9d0302591383">this how-to</a> that describes an ABAP mapping in SAP XI.
    Is ABAP mapping only possible with ABAP Objects? Do I have to use
    the StreamFactory class? Is there an alternative way to do such a mapping?
    Does anyone have another example for ABAP mapping?
    Thanks
    chris

    Hi Christian,
    usually you need that only for special cases. It is not so easy...
    You can find a simple example at my weblog <a href="/people/udo.martens/blog/2006/08/23/comparing-performance-of-mapping-programs Performance of Mapping Programs</a>. The same mapping is over there with other mapping kinds; as you see, ABAP seems to be most complex, he, he. One or two days, and you get it

  • Append Duplicate entries in Start Routine through ABAP code

    Hi Experts,
    I need to write an ABAP code in the start routine for the following conditions.
    For every record in fiscal period (FISCPER) which has non u2013quarter months eg if Jan/Feb ie (001.2007 or 002.2007) I need to create an additional duplicate record which keeps all the other values same but negates the key figures and replaces the month by a quarter ending month
    Eg: if my records are
    FISCPER   COMP_CODE    GLACCT       BALANCE
    001.2007     1000                     6789090       70
    002.2007      1000                    6789090       80
    I need to create/append duplicate entries by negating the Balance value and replacing the Fiscper with 003.2007
    FISCPER COMP_CODE   GLACCT   BALANCE
    003.2007    1000                6789090    -70
    003.2007    1000                6789090    - 80
    Hence the entire structure should now look like:
    001.2007       1000        6789090         70
    002.2007       1000        6789090         80
    003.2007       1000        6789090        -70
    003.2007       1000        6789090       - 80
    Similarly, I need to append duplicate entries for all non quarter ending months and replacing the Fiscper with the quarter ending month and also negate the Key figure value.
    Hence, similarly,
    001.2007        1000            6789090             70
    002.2007        1000            6789090             80
    003.2007        1000            6789090             -70
    003.2007        1000            6789090            - 80
    004.2007        1000            6789090              30
    005.2007        1000            6789090              90
    006.2007        1000            6789090             -30
    006.2007        1000            6789090             -90
    I am very new to ABAP, can someone please provide the ABAP start routine code for this..

    Dipali

  • Lookup in a Mapping to a ABAP or Java proxy

    Hi,
    within the documentation of the Mappinglookup API only lookups to RFC,JDBC and SOAP should be supported.
    Is it possible to lookup to a proxy ?
    Regards,
    Gerald

    Hi Gerald,
    Yes, it is not possible to lookup to a proxy.
    "The API for mapping lookups supports access using the RFC, JDBC, and SOAP adapters."
    Refer this link:-
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cf/406642ea59c753e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    A Proxy requires a whole XI message including the XI message header. The look up API only provides the creation of the payload of the message.
    I hope this provides you a solution.
    Regards.

  • Update rule - Routine Char -ABAP issue

    Dear Experts,
    Infocube u2013 Update rule u2013Chars-
    MM_BEMOT(Indicator)  IS a FIELD which I am introducing in the update rule.
    I don't get any value from Data_package.
    MM_BEMOT_ITAB has 2 entries.(50,06). It is not updating 2 entries u2013
    It is updating the same entry 2 times 50.
    Infocube - I have to update like
    Order,Indicator,Type,Cost element,amount
    45167 06 01 12345 10.00
    45167 50 01 12345 10.00
    Startroutine - I am reading the data from DSO and moving those data into
    MM_BEMOT_ITAB . MM_BEMOT_ITAB has 2 entries now. I have to update 50,06 values into
    MM_BEMOT.
    READ TABLE MM_BEMOT_ITAB
    WITH KEY ORDER = COMM_STRUCTURE-ORDER
    COSTELMNT = COMM_STRUCTURE-COSTELMNT.
    result value of the routine
    LOOP AT MM_BEMOT_ITAB.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
    RESULT = MM_BEMOT_ITAB-MM_BEMOT.
    endif.
    ENDLOOP.
    Advance thx
    ENDIF.

    You may have to put the following line in your update rule after changing the result.
    RETURNCODE = 0.
    Regards.

  • XSLT Mapping on ABAP Engine

    Hi All,
    I am trying to implement an XSLT mapping on the ABAP Engine. I went to the Transformation Workbench(SE80).I have created 4 levels of packages (Structure->Main->then 2 more levels) and  included Package Interface SAI_TOOLS in 'Use Accesses' tab.
    I have also set com.sap.aii.repository.mapping.additionaltypes=R3_ABAP|Abap-class;R3_XSLT|XSL (ABAP Engine)
    in the Exchange Profile.
    Now I want to create the tranformation (ST or XSLT) so that I can see it in the Repository.
    At which package level(1st to 4th), should I right-click and go to 'Create->More->Transformations' so that I can see this XSLT  Mapping program in the repository?
    I have followed all the links from help.sap.com but I am unable to get the desired result, i.e. see my Mapping in the Repository when I choose Mapping Program of type  'XSL->ABAP Engine', from the drop-down box in Interface Mapping.
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Puloma.

    Hi Naveen,
    I did as you told, i.e. keyed in the name of the ABAP Transformation program (mapping) name.I have not written any namespace for the Mapping program in the Interface Mapping Design, just the Program name.
    When I execute my mapping from se80, it works perfectly.
    I created this Transformation program at the topmost level (i.e. Structure package level).
    But when I execute my scenario, I get the following runtime error in sxmb_moni:
    Error in mapping program zpc_transfom2 (type R3_XSLT, kernel error ID UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION).
    What is wrong? Did I create the transformation program at the wrong level?
    Regards,
    Puloma.

  • Populate new fields in DSO (DBTable) with ABAP routine

    Hi,
    I've added a couple of fields to a DSO. The DSO contains a large number of records (60m+) and I have a tight window to cutover so the activation time would be an issue if I use a loop transformation. Therefore, I am looking to populate the additional fields directly in the Active table using an ABAP routine.
    One of the fields is a key figure to be derived from an existing CHAR field so would need to apply some logic during update, such as IF <CHAR_FIELD> CA 'ABC'. <KYF_FIELD> = 1 etc.
    Aside from fairly basic Start Routines my ABAP is very poor so was wondering if anyone can help me with the syntax or, preferably some sample code to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ad

    Hi,
       In transformation of the cube, choose routine  for char E.
       There you can assign value in RESULT field. Actually RESULT field is assigned to E, find the code below,
    *--  fill table "MONITOR" with values of structure "MONITOR_REC"
    *-   to make monitor entries
    ... "to cancel the update process
       raise exception type CX_RSROUT_ABORT.
    ... "to skip a record
       raise exception type CX_RSROUT_SKIP_RECORD.
    ... "to clear target fields
       raise exception type CX_RSROUT_SKIP_VAL.
      (* insert your abap code here to find the value of E*.)
         RESULT =                     * assign the value you got for E here.
    rgrs,
    v.sen
