Maps doesn't show traffic ?!

Updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 early on and the new maps was alright, showed traffic and construction projects. Recently it stopped showing any traffic data whether the "show traffic" is turned on or off. I know there is traffic to show because my iPad shows it.
I have tried restarting my phone, force quiting the app, and updating to 6.0.1. Nothing has changed.
Is there a way to reset the maps app similarly to deleting a .plist file on OS X?

I found a solution to this problem, in case anyone ever stumbles upon this post through a search.
Go to Setting -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings
This will clear out some minor settings in your phone like alarms, world clocks, weather cities, stocks, ringtone selection, etc. but will keep all of your data secure. It also happened to fix the traffic in the Apple Maps. Funny that I found this solution about 20 minutes after I downloaded the new Google Maps app.

Yes I worked previously but it's now not working. I did double click home botton and terminate the maps many time but still not working.
The standard maps just not show any route only the blue dot (my location.) I really don't know what to do. Btw, I used to live in SF but now I'm traveling to Thailand. One of my friend is using iPhone 4S as well but his maps is working. So I guess it is about its application on my phone...

Maps won't show traffic

No matter what I do, the Maps app refuses to show traffic data in Los Angeles (or anywhere else). My wife's phone shows it. I've tried hiding and showing traffic, switching 3D off and on, quitting the app, restarting the phone. Nothing works. Anyone else having this problem?

A trick learnt from Apple support - go to Settings/General/Reset and reset all settings, it fixes the problem and maps shows traffic again, won't delete your phone/calendar records or apps etc, but you do need to reconfigure a few things - lock screen image, weather (selected cities), stocks (selected symbols), clock (world cities, alarms), ...

There is no in built GPS chip, so reliant solely upon network triangulation for location which may mean several km out.

Location map doesn't show in iPhoto since update to Maverick

Since I have updated to Maverick I have noticed that the location map no longer shows. The info shows and the drop pin also but no map picture. I also tried Hybrid and Satalite but it didn't change.
Any ideas?

What version of iPhoto do you currently have? If it isn't some version of iPhoto 9.x (11) then upgrading to iPhoto 9.,5.1 will be a required purchase.

Apple map does not show traffic

Since switching to apple maps from google maps no traffic colors show on map

I noticed new map show no color at all when it's not slow or jammed.
It use to be ( in Google map)
No color= no data( don't know jammed or not)
Green = no jam
Amber= slow
Red= stop&go
Now we don't know if "traffic okay" or "no data" because those are same "no color"
If nothing show on your map, it could be no traffic jam(red) nor slow(amber).
Try checking it on rush hour.
I can't trust new map's traffic info because it could be " no data" could be smooth driving.

The new apple maps doesn't show directions to any place in my city

I've installed iOS 6 on the new iPad ... The new maps by apple fails to provide any directions in the city (chennai,india)..

IPhone 2.0 - Maps doesn't work and Contacts is sluggish

Updated to 2.0 and installed the new MobileMe Update.
Maps doesn't show my position accurately. It shows I am 6 miles to the North East from my actual position and also can't find any locations when entered into Search or when an address is selected via the field in Contacts.
Also, since going over to Push Mail, Calendars and Contacts (I deleted my itools account and then logged into the MobileMe account), whenever I open up Contacts, it won't do anything for 10 seconds and then starts working normally.
Small note: I don't seem to be getting the E in the top left hand corner anymore. I get a square with a dot in it. What does this mean?
Any thoughts or suggestions?

The 2.0 map now claims I'm 6-7 miles SW of where I really am. I'm glad I'm not alone with the map bug, but I don't have the other problems you are describing.

I recently did the operator system update, and i put all my iphoto folder in an external hard drive. After passing everything back to my MBP, iphoto doesn't show the map in places. I do not know wht I did wrong.

I have the same problem as Samuel. I updated a few pics from iphoto to Aperture3. The first day I was able to set around 5 pics with no problem. But on the second day the map appeared blank. I do not have VPN, I checked my Lan and wireless, and tested in two different places but with no luck. I reinstall aperture3 and upgraded twice to 3.0.1 patch but still without solving.
Am I missing anything? I looked all the menus but I do not see any configuration for places section.

Spotlight doesn't show Web, Wikipedia, Maps results. Handoff breaks Mail.

Hi everyone,
I just upgraded my rMBP (2014) to 10.10. The features I was looking forward to most are currently not working for me. Maybe you can help or report similar issues.
1) When using spotlight, it does not show any results from the web, no Bing search results, no Wikipedia entries. It also doesn't show any places via the maps application. Notably, the spotlight settings panel does not show an option to search wikipedia or maps, it does, however, have an entry for bing web search results. I tried unchecking everything except bing results, but still couldn't get spotlight to show anything. Is this a known problem or is something wrong at my end?
2) I started composing an email on my IPhone (6, running 8.0.2) and was happy to see the handoff icon appear in the dock. Clicking it, however, resulted in Mail opening a new message composition window which first started to load (forever) before eventually crashing (Application stopped responding). This issue can be replicated (in fact I have run into it every single time I tried).
Having seen 6(?) beta versions and still having major, feature breaking bugs in the final product is quite disappointing. The argument "hey, it's free, what do you expect?" doesn't count.
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Most probably web/wikipedia searches in spotlight are only available in select countries. Doesn't work here in India.

Map App- Show Traffic Not Working

Hi Guys,
So I noticed over the holiday weekend, when I went into my Map Application to check the traffic in my area, the "show traffic" feature wasn't working. I clicked on the "show traffic" option and nothing changed. It was still the regular map graphic without the green, yellow and red lines. The I pressed "hide traffic" and of course, it looks like map. When I tired "show traffic" again, still no traffic lines. Do I have a bug in my Map App or does this sometimes happen? I haven't been able to get it work and it's going on 5 days now. In the past, I never had this problem before- it ALWAYS gave me the traffic and was usually pretty accurate. I depend on this to get around my area so it's a major bummer right now that it won't work. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? I've tried syncing and my 3Gs is up to date with the latest software and app upgrades, etc.

that worked! duh! i guess i thought i DID restart my phone- but you know what? all my apps keep updating themselves because of the new iphone update so maybe like you said, when i downloaded an update to an app- it messed the "show traffic" up. glad this was an easy fix and thank you so much for your post! you're the best!!!!

Is there a way to "force-mount" an external drive that doesn't show up on it's own when plugged in with firewire?

Hi, is there a way to "force-mount" an external drive that doesn't show up on the desktop? I have a new Hitachi SATA III 2 TB Ultrastar that won't show up like all the other drives when plugged in. So I can't partition, repair, format etc with Disk Utility, Disk Drill, Tech Tools etc. How do I make it visible?
I use the FW 400 to 800 adapter and a FW hub.
