Mark field as display only.

Dear all,
My requirement is that the description field in material master (MM01) should be made as non editable for all other views except basic data 1 and basic data 2 in the MM02 t.code.
The material description is provided by one department which is responsible for creating of certain type of material whereas the same is changed by other departments who are familiar with their own description - to avoid this the above mentioned requirement is needed.
Can the experts throw some light of how to handle this.

You can maintain the setting in OMS9 that this field will be in display mode in all the views so that no further changes can be done once the material is created.

Hello Experts,
We have centralization scenario for Vendor master data. We have a requirement that once the Vendor Master data is created in SAP MDM and syndicated to SAP ECC, the ECC users should not be able to change the data for the fields coming from SAP MDM, i.e they should not be able to make change to the field values in Vendor Master data coming from SAP MDM, through XK01 and XK02. But at the same time these MDM fields should get updated if it is updated by an IDoc.
Do we have any exits for Vendor in SAP ECC which can be called during XK01/XK02 which will make the SAP MDM fields non editable from the XK01/XK02 screen.

In the ECC go to the SPRO transacción and find:
- Financial Accounting / Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable / Vendor Accounts / Master Data / Preparations for Creating Vendor Master Data / Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Vendors)
You need to change the customizing by each Account Group and put the fields that came from MDM in "Display" mode

Industry sector field for display only.

Dear All,
Does anybody know the setting to make Industry sector for display only, so that the enduser cannot change industry sector while creating material.
I know to hide industry sector from DEFAULTS menu, but i need to freeze that field for display only.

How to make 'Overall Limit' field as display only in ME22/ME22N

Hi,
I want to make the 'Overall Limit' field as display only in transation ME22/ME22N (only for Service Items).
I can make the field display only for ALL Service Items by going to:
SPRO u2013 IMG - Material Management - External Services Management - Define Screen Layout
and making the 'Overall Limit' display only for PT1 (Blanket Items). But this also stops any entry into this field even for creation of Purchase Orders! When I try the same thing for ME22 (Change Purchase Order) it does not work.

You can make it greyed out like this:
Go to materials management -> external service management -> define screen layout -> copy field selection key ME22 -> enter new key as ME22N -> choose category of field selection to 2 -> click on value limit -> make overall limit as display.
Then for Tcode ME22N, this field will be greyed out.

Making a field as display only in custom Infotype.

Hi,
I have to a requirement to make a field as display only in a custom infotype. This field should be greyed out while entering data via PA30 for any employee such that it wont allow to eneter data manually but it gets updated by a program. And also this field should have a default value , say, NO.
Please help me as this is too urgent.

9XXX - infotype number.
Go to Layout editor for your Single screen (Screen Number 2000)
Double click on the field you want to make display only
In the screen attributes DISPLAY OPTIONS for that field choose "Output Only"
Activate Layout.
If you want to code something to be populated for the field code in PAI or PBO modules in the Module pool program

Multi Language- Picklist fields are displayed only one language for Reports

Hi!
I am working on Siebel On Demand with Multi Language (English and Spanish) and it works well for web interface, the automatic translation for picklist works properly.
However when I create any report (with any Record Type) the fields setup with picklist are displayed only in spanish language even though I am on English mode.
Have you any reference(s) or previous experience(s) on that?

Hi,
in reports the language of the picklists corresponds always to the company default language.
The only solution I now (its really static and not so nice):
Create one report per language and change the picklist field by using CASE statements...you see its hard to refresh if you have lots of values :)

Marking Fields as Read-Only After Digitally Signing Issues

I am creating a PDF form that contains several digital signatures. I am selecting a signatures and am in the property options for that specific signature looking at the "Signed" tab. I select, Mark as read only, than choose "Just these Fields.
When I select "pick" a new box opens that lists all the fields in my form with a check box next to each. It appears that I can select the fields I want to mark as read only, however, when I attempt to check a box, nothing. I can select "select all" and all the firlds become checked, but I cannot check individual fields.
Any thought on what might be going on?

Making field as Display only

Hi Experts,
I am trying to grey out the Assignment field in FB01 transaction based the value provided in Documnet type in FB01 mail screen.
When ever user enters Document type as 'ZZ', then Assignment field should be grey out in next screen.
I tried to create field-exit for this, but this exit is triggered in PAI of the FB01 main screen.
Can any one help me out on this issue.

This cannot be achived directly on the standard FB01 screen without modifying the SAP standard module behind FB01 simply because there is no screen-exit for FB01, at least none that I could find.
SAP gives cutomer option to control header/line-item fields through BADI/User-exits while posting documents, <u>only when</u> document is posted via a report/interface which uses a BAPI (BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST) or a FM (POSTING_INTERFACE_DOCUMENT) either in background or foreground processing.
I think for what you are trying to do, your process needs to change from the standard. If you develop an interface for users to post documents using the FM/BAPI above in foreground, then you can use the Exit/BADI to control the line item fields. In that case you could almost do anything upon checking your condition.

ME22N - Make fields display only.

Hi gurus,
I have the following requirement I don`t know how to solve so well...
We´ve created a new purchase order type and we need a little special behaviour for it.
At creation (ME21N) all fields must be ready for input, in the same way that the other PO types.
However, in modification (ME22N) we need some fields unavaible for input, just display.
This fields are: Payment Terms (At header level) and Delivery Date (At Position level).
I've trying some user-exits, but I havent found the way to implement this behaviour.
Because of that, I`ve trying to let the fields available for input in ME22N and check values at save, showing a message in case of changes. Could anybody recommend me which user-exit use for this verifications?

Make Scrap portion field in production order header as display only

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to make scrap field(CAUFVD-GASMG) in production order header as display field only. We do not want users to enter any values here to denote the quantity scrapped in production orders. I am not aware of any configuration to make this field as display only. Please let me know which user exit or BADI available for this purpose. We do not want to use any screen variants and transaction variants and would like to restrict this at order type or plant level.

Blocking Profit Center field in MM02 (making it display only)

I have a query, We have blocked via authorizations all views in MM02 except for the "Sales: General/Plant" view, so now we need to know how to make the Profit Center field a display only so that we can assign a role for people who will change the Serial Number Profile field only using MM02.
If MARC-PRCTR in OMS9 is set as display only for MM02 can it be possible to for the master data team to still have change access to for the Profit Center field.

Setting values to Display Only item during AJAX request

Good Morning!
In a master-detail form, in the detail report, I am populating two columns SERVICE_TAX_PCT and SERVICE_TAX_AMOUNT by making an AJAX request after selection of ACCOUNT_CODE. Values are populated with out any issue.
However, as soon as I make those two fields as Display Only, the values are not getting set. Is there a way to set the values to a field in the same time it should be restricted for user to change it?

Display only cell in ALV Grid in OO

Hi Folks,
Hope someone can help me with this little issue. I have a series of columns in my ALV grid that are editable, but I need to a) make some of the cells on specific lines uneditable and b) display time based fields on this line as blank (presently they shoe 00:00:00).
For problem a) I have set the layout style frame as 'cellstyles'
    es_layout-stylefname = 'CELLSTYLES'.
I have also set the edit flag in the field catalog for the individual columns to 'X' eg
     WHEN 'CUSTTS_DATE_N'.
          ls_fieldcat-edit = 'X'.
And coded:
       gwa_stylerow-fieldname = 'CUSTTS_DATE_N'.
      gwa_stylerow-style = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_disabled.
      APPEND gwa_stylerow TO gt_stylerow.
      wa_delivery_list-cellstyle[] = gt_stylerow[].
      APPEND wa_delivery_list TO it_delivery_list.
Yet, the ALV cells are still being displayed as editable. Can't for the life of me figure out what's missing. The only other thought I had around this is that the wa_delivery_list-cellstyle table is being set in the data extraction code, before the ALV grid is built, and that the cell formats are being overwritten/on not being called by the field catalog entries. Any thoughts on how to make these fields/cells display only when the ALV is first displayed would be greatly appreciated.
As for option b) I'm clueless, as the cell style commands are not being picked up (see problem a.). Again any thoughts would be appreciated, and points will be rewarded for solutions/suggestions that lead to solutions.

Form Field Display Only

Is there anyway within ADDT to specify a form field that is input on insert but display only on update? Marking the field read-only makes it so for both. I would like to let the user input the data, not be able to change it, but still see it for reference.

If I understood correctly you want to allow the user to input data on insert but only be able to see the field value on update. You can make a form field available on insert/update/or both and have it display as text (so that the user can see if for reference but not be able to change it) by clicking on the Manage Dynamic Form wizard icon in the Developer Toolbox bar and changing the corresponding settings.
<br />These options however don't cover your scenario as you want the field to be editable on insert only. I tried tweaking the generated ADDT code but it didn't work. The only other way to do this that I can think of would be to add the read-only attribute dynamically, that is on update only. The code to add to the field would simply be:
<br /><%If Request.QueryString("ID") <> "" Then Response.Write("readonly='readonly'")%>. This code simply checks to see if a record ID is being passed to the dynamic form page and if it is then we know we're on an update page so the readonly field attribute is added (I code in VBScript so the code might be slightly different in your case).

Is it possible to display only dynamically selected fields in the out put? i need to display set of columns in the selection criteria, but in the output i have display only input given fields. because i need to convert it into .csv file. So i have to display selected fields from internal table. In oracle they are using"execute immediate". is there any equivalent in SAP?

If yes, there are concepts like RTTS which facilitates it.
Yes, the select query also supports dynamic selection of fields. ( Please care about ( ) in dynamic sql ).
Do more research on Field Symbols and statements like ASSIGN COMPONENT OF.
