Mark  WONDERFUL PSE10 is now longer supported by Adope, so you are screwed.

My PSE10 no longer recognizes my server.  In other words, when I try to email a phone to someone I get an error message that the pop server is not recognized.  Just two weeks ago this was working fine, does anyone have an idea on how to fix this.  Thank you

HI,
You tell Elements the mail client in the preferences [Edit -> Preferences -> Sharing].
It sounds as though you are using Adobe Email Client and have set up your email address in the sharing preferences. The email from Adobe with the verification code is sent to that address but sometimes gets trapped as being spam - check you spam email folders.
Info: Mail client is an application which runs on your PC and talk to you email service provided by your ISP.
For Windows 8.1 , I prefer to use Windows Live Mail as my mail client but you may not have that installed and configured.
I think that AT&T may be your service provider rather than a client. How do you send normal emails? Perhaps you use an online web service?
[Just a little warning, do not post your email address here as it can be picked up by spammers]

When I try to open the EOS digital solution disk ver 24.1 for my new Canon Rebel T3i camera on my Mac 10.5.8 a notice "this software is not supported by the CPU you are using" comes up
You need to contact Canon - or read the software specs - it sounds like the software you got form them is not supported by your computer
    Do I need this software?
Probably not - exactly what about it do you want?
Can I just download the pictures to my Mac without using the Canon software?
Probably - if you are shooting JPEG - launch iPhoto and in the iPhoto preferences set action when a camera is connected to launch iPhoto and connect your camera - iPhoto should launch and you should be able to import
Some cameras need to be set to mass storage mode - read your camera manual for details and procedures
If you are using RAW then your camera needs to be on this list and you need the versions of software noted - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4757 - for older OS versions you can use google to find the list of supported cameras

why despite numerous attempts on numerous iPhone, does Apple not longer support Godaddy email accounts?
I have followed the proper methods described in Godaddy to no avail.  At this point it is clearly an Apple issue.

  • IS THERE A LIST OF APPS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY LION?

IS THERE A LIST OF APPS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY LION?

You even gave me a star for my sarcastic answer. Now I suppose I should earn it for real
I would not consider any list of applications known "not supported by Lion" to be valid. I did a quick check of the Roaring apps survey and found identical applications listed as both compatible and incompatible. Which is it? None of my applications are listed, including the one I haven't touched since 2006 and that works just fine in Lion.
Any application developer, including Intuit, is free to release an upgrade that will enable their software to work in Lion or even make use of Lion's new features. For an application to not function in Lion, it must be either:
    1) Highly specialized, well-made, and very dependent on a specific version of the underlying operating system. Parallels is a good example.
    2) Poorly written. I won't give any examples for this category, but you know who they are. Any application that doesn't employ low-level operating system interfaces and breaks in Lion means that its developers do not care about the product or its customers. They are using interfaces that have been declared obsolete by Apple years ago. They have made a caculated decision to not update the software until something actually breaks. Furthermore, they have made no effort to test their software against beta versions of Lion. Or maybe they did and the software is so poorly written that they couldn't port it from 10.6 to 10.7 in six months.
    3) Completely abandonned. Quicken is the primary example. It was last updated in 2007 and those updates completely ignored the changes to the Intel processor in 2006.
You are unlikely to encounter anything from category 1 above. Those developers worked with Apple to get their software ready before Lion was ready. There are a large number of applications in category 2 and 3. Some are very expensive, prompting people to hang on to them for years. Any developer that sells software more expensive than the computer it runs on considers their software to be the priority. In those cases, the computer and operating system are merely vehicles for you to use their product. Updates to either are not allowed or supported. You know who I'm talking about here. You are free to fork over another $1200 for the latest version that will work on Lion. Just don't expect it to work on 10.8 - because it surely won't.

  • StarWalk no longer supports iPad wifi or iPod Touch

On April 30 an update to StarWalk for iPad was released that disabled the applications use of the internal compass for wifi only iPads. On May 1 an update to StarWalk for iPhone was released that disabled the internal compass for iPod touches. There was no announcement of this from Vito and their sales site still lists all devices as supported. Vito generally does not reply to support issues, but if you are lucky enough to get a response from them you will simply be told that these devices have a "flawed" magnetometer and the issue is not related to their software (although the application worked on April 29 and stopped working with their next release).
If Vito simply would have written on their site that they had released an update that (for some reason) disabled functionality on any wifi-only devices and that they apologized to those people and hoped someday to come up with a fix for them (if at all possible) I probably would have let it go. But the fact that they just said nothing, only responding that wifi-only devices are "flawed" (as of April 30) and its not their fault, and continue to sell their software to wifi-only customers really bothered me - so I applied for a refund (and apparently so did many other people).
I think a little customer service goes a long way. Vito (which is located in the Ukraine) has no customer service. If their customer service was even a tenth of their product innovation they could have kept my money.

    Dear gigasurus,
On Vito Technology Facebook page, blog and twitter we've made an official answer to all complaints.
I just wanted to repeat it here as well:
Recently we’ve got numerous complaints from our users about the bug connected with magnetometer on iPad devices. It took us quite long time to figure out the problem.
Finally we managed to fix that and we’re preparing to upload a new version of Star Walk that will see not only bug fixes but quite few nice features that you’ll definitely like. Look out for new updates!

  • Adobe no longer supporting Content Provider

Hi, I'm really interested in creating ebooks and selling them by using Adobe Content Server but I find that Adobe is no longer supporting the program. What are the repercussions of thisdecision? To me it says that Adobe is no longer interested in DRM and the ebook market. I thought I'd found the perfect solution for making ebooks pay.
As I understand it LiveCycle is a replacement but this seems to be aimed at the internal passing of documents in large corporations rather than selling comercial ebooks.
Can anybody let me know what the thinking is on this as searching the adobe site is like wading through a treacle of out of date and irrelevant information.
    Many thanks, in anticipation.

I see also about Fileopen: solution for DRM is more cheap than ACS but files are not so secure as the secured with Content Server (after the release of Adobe Reader 6), the plugin-handler gets the option to "crack" the distributed eBooks by means of the old version (please remember problems of Vladimir Skylarov in the popular case Adobe vs Skylarov) Advanced eBook Processor by ElcomSoft (new versions are limited and can't remove security in fileopen generated files). I think that Adobe must take a policy to sell the new LiveCycle Policy Server at a special price to previous registered users of ACS (we take the risks and search for people putting their contents with us). I think: the new LiveCycle Policy Server requires rewriting apps (a real cost) plus buying a software near to US$ 40.000. So included people who loves Adobe (I'm inside) and PDF format can take some peace of mind and follow with a very risky job, in current time, as distributing eBooks instead of take some low budget bussiness with higher level of revenues.
In our case we are working hard in a big project to put many eBooks for free, but requiring DRM and avoiding redistribution of files, trying to recover some of cultural inheritance of Latinamerica in serious and high quality digital editions but our budget is small.
Parhaps we must take another way... ¿As you?

what is the difference between CS5 and CS6?

The Subject line is for a brief summary of your question. Use the message area for the details.
The difference is that you can buy CS6, but not CS5. It is no longer supported. CS6 allows you to use the latest Adobe Camera Raw software, CS5 does not.
Click on this link: https://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_ creativesuite6.html?start=10
Choose "buy" and specify Full or upgrade.
    Click on Select.
That will take you to the Checkout.
Click on "edit" if you want a Mac version or another language.
One you finish the purchase, you will be emailed the license key and the download link for the software.

  • I keep getting an error message that says the safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar.  how do I fix it?

Everytime I open my imac I get an error message that says: "We're sorry but the Safari browser version your are currently using does not support the community toolbar."  I can't see where it affects anything else, but getting an error message on an imac, just doesn't seem right, ya know?  How can I get rid of the message.

Apparently an add-on named Community Toolbar was installed at one time, and is causing the problem. To get rid of it, quit Safari, then throw away these files -
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit
    Macintosh HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    Macintosh HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Note - if you are using Lion, the Library folder in your home folder (user name folder) is hidden. To get into it, in Finder open the Go menu; with that menu open, press and hold the Option key. An item "Library" will be added to the list, and can then be selected. That will open the Library folder in your home folder.

    Hi,
PSC 1315 no longer supported for scanning since Mac OS X v10.5 or while using any newer OS, there is no scan software provided by either HP or Apple (Image Capture)
You may find this information stated below for Leopard, the same apply for any newer OS version:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01234231&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &os=219&product=374568&sw_lang=
Image capture will not recognize your device as well, only print is supported as you may find listed for teh PSC 1310 Series below:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP
Although there is no official scanning support for your device you may still try the 3rd party VueScan software which list your scanner as supported and compatible with Mountain Lion:

  • I upgraded to 10.8.4 and now it won't let me use my Epson scanner, saying "power pc applications are no longer supported." How do I make it work?

I upgraded to 10.8.4 and now I can' use my Epson scanner  I get a message saying, "ou can't open the application Epson Scan apps because Power PC applications are no longer supported." I also can't synch my old Palm Pilot for the same reason.
    How can I fix this?

We need to sort out some facts here first:
    •  You cannot be running Mt. Lion on your iMac G5.  What Mac is it?  What is the Model Identifier listed in About This Mac; More Info; Hardware Overview
    •  What is the model of your Epson Scanner?
    •  Have you attempted to scan using Image Capture, located in your Applications folder?
    •  Your Palm Pilot software will only run in Snow Leopard; so depending upon which Mac you have, you will either have to:
    1)  partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it to "dual-boot" when you want to access you Palm software, or
    2)  install Snow Leopard Server (now available from Apple for $20 telephone orders USA & Canda only) into Parallels 8 to run your Palm software in Mt. Lion:

  • Maverick. Mail attachment now says can't be used because PowerMac no longer supported. Attachment worked before upgrade. Says Microsoft Word no longer supported.

A lease agreement attached to an e-mail opened fine in Pages with Mountain Lion this morning. I upgraded to Mavericks this afternoon and neither a revised offer nor the old one can be opened. A screen comes up saying I can't open Microsoft Word as PowerPc applications are no longer supported.
What can I do? Is there a way to dump Mavericks?

In Mountain Lion this morning, when I clicked on the attachment to the e-mail, I got a screen saying would I like to try opening the attachment with: And it gave me a list of choices, including Pages. Pages had no problem opening the attachment. Now after I upgraded to Mavericks I get the messages about PowerPC!  No choices!

  • Have an Epson workforce 600 worked fine until new router and Lion installed.  Now when I try and scan with the all in one I get a "POWER PC APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTED"  and my IMAC does not recognize that the Epson is a multi function printer.

Installed a new router.  Installed Lion. Have an Epson Workforce 600 multi function printer.  Two problems.
    1. I cannot get Lion to recognize that the Epson is a multi function printer.  There is no scan option on the "print/Scan" popup window.
    2. When I try and use the epson scan utility I get:  POWER PC APPLICATIONS ARE NOT LONGER SUPPORTED.
I have tried EPSON support with no real luck as they say it is Apple upgrades that are the problem.
Apple support was quite rude..said it was not their problem and that I should call epson.  Told the I did but it made no difference just got the same reply.
Have no idea what to do.....seems I cannot find out which multi-function printers Lion supports.

    daolbuzzard1 wrote:

Not to give you another run around, but you need new printer drivers from Epson for your printer so it works in Lion.
Now it could be that they are working on it, or that they could have decided not to provide new drivers in order for you to force upgrade.
The only thing a user can do is decide very carefully BEFORE upgrading to a newer Apple operating system, make sure that all their current hardware and software works and make a decision for themselves.
Since you upgraded to Lion, you can go back to Snow Leopard and your PPC software will work.
    Do you need instructions?

  • I just upgraded to OS X Lion and now I can't open the application Adobe ImageReady CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I just upgraded to OS X Lion and now I can't open the application Adobe ImageReady CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.

  • I upgraded to mountain lion from snow leopard, now my photo studio software is no longer supported by powerpc. Does anyone know of a fix so my photostudio will work?

I upgraded to mountain lion from snow leopard, but now some of my applications do not work, most specifically I would like to use my photo studio, but now it tells me that powerpc is no longer supported.  Does anyone have any fixes to this problem? I would really like to continue to use software that I already have! Thank you for your help!

PPC software will not work in Mountain Lion because there is no longer any Rosetta emulator. You will only be able to run your older software by creating another partition on your hard drive on which you can install Snow Leopard. It need not be a large partition since you can still keep your files and programs on the main partition. You could also install Snow Leopard on an external drive from which to boot the computer.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.  (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
    4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
You should now have a new volume on the drive.
It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss.  Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.
After you create the new partition boot the computer from your Snow Leopard DVD and install Snow Leopard onto the new partition.
