Mass Upload of Business Partner (Person) with/or Attribute Values

Platform: CRM 4.0sr1 SP8, backend R/3 4.6c
I have created an eCATT to upload Business Partners (Person), with Relationship Contact Person for pre-existing BPs (replicated from R/3 4.6 backend) and then chaineded another eCATT that assigns an Attribute Set to the newly created Contact Person.
However, I can only find the manual method to assign our newly created attribute sets/values via the CRM transaction <b>CRMD_PROF_BP</b>
I looked at the expert tools <b>CRMD_MKT_TOOLS</b>, but they all seem to work with assigning the information to the BPs after they're added to a Target Group.
So, how do I either upload the info directly <i>(I am unfamiliar with FM's/Programming and how to use them if anyone suggests one, so please be specific)</i> or create a target group that includes a this new set of Contact Person BP numbers?
Thanks for any help!

Hi Mike,
The bottom line you try to achive is populate target group based on attributes
of each BP right?
Here, I try to give you alternatives:
1. Without assign attributes to BP, and assume you have the attributes assigned
already in R/3 (or the information already saved in BP R/3 somewhere). Use
tcode CRMD_MKTDS from CRM, here you define external source of your
target attributes. Define RFC connection to R/3 and retreive infoset from R/3.
If you have BW connecto to CRM, this can be used as well.
2. Or, you have lists of BP in MS-Excel file, for example Region1.Xls contains all
BPs with region = 1 and Region2.xls contains all BPs with region = 2.
Now, in Profile Set segmentation, create Target group and retreive all BP from
excel file. Right click on that new target group and choose Target Group
properties, Open tab Load File and Create New target group. then follow the
rest steps until you get the target group with BP according to each file you
    have.
3. Last alternative, which you may avoid as you are not familiar with programming.
Use Function module  CRM_ISA_BP_CHAR_VALUES_SAVE to save BP
    attributes.
Tell me if this is what you looking for.

    Hi
Which SAP version are you using ?
The user needs to be attached to the Org Plan. (PPOMA_BBP)
Have you maintained the Contact person for this USer in the Org Plan. (PPOMA_BBP) ?
Please check the consitency of this BP as well.
Have you read the documenattion of the Transaction -> BBP_BP_OM_INTEGRATE ?
    If no, here it is..

    Object Synchronization and Repair
    Purpose
This report enables you to run a consistency check for the integration of HR Master Data and Business Partner data. If not all data exists for the business partner, you can first synchronize data. When synchronization is run for organizational units, the basic data (name, description) and the address data is included; when synchronization is run for central persons, bank information is included in addition to the basic data and address data.
    Prerequisites
To be able to run this report, integration between Organizational Management and SAP Business Partner must be active.
    Features
This section contains information about the functions you can use to select and output data.
    Selection
The following options enable you to restrict the selection of objects:
    Central Person
In addition to selecting central persons created during integration between HR Master Data and Business Partner data, you can also select central persons who have been created locally. However, central persons created locally are not checked for consistency.
    Employee (object type P)
This selection option is only available in HR systems. The corresponding central person is displayed together with the person. Both objects are kept consistent in the Basic Data, Address, and Bank Data columns.
    Positions
    Business Partners (Employee role)
    Users
    Organizational Unit(s)
You can specify specific organizational units for the selection.
    Business Partner (Organizational Unit role)
    Note:
The selection objects Position, Business Partner (Employee role), User, and Business Partner (Organizational Unit role) are only available if an implementation of BAdI HRALX_HRALXSYNC_BADI exists.
    Branch as of Organizational Unit
This option enables you to select all objects in the structure for one or more organizational units. You can also restrict selection according to one of the following object types:
    Central Persons Only
    Employees Only
    Positions Only
    Business Partners Only (Employee role)
    Users Only
    Organizational Units Only
Business Partners Only (Organizational Unit role)
    Include All Object Types
    Changes Since
All organizational units and central persons for which changes have been made since the last time all objects were synchronized are read. When all objects have been synchronized successfully, a new change date is set.
    Note:
If a selection has been made but the relevant input field remains blank, all objects of a particular object type are read from the database. This condition can lead to a long runtime, therefore, SAP recommends you also enter a restriction.
    Output
The organizational units and central persons that have been found are displayed in a list that includes status data.
To facilitate navigation, a hierarchical tree structure is displayed on the left-hand side of the object list. The branches are sorted according to the type of action that is to be executed.
If an implementation of BAdI HRALX_HRALXSYNC_BADI exists, checks from this BAdI are executed in the External Checks branch.
If you double-click on the folder icon in the navigation tree, all objects are displayed in the list.
    Note:
Meaning of status display for data in the Basic Data, Address, and Bank Data columns:
    Icon Message Text Meaning
Green traffic light Business partner does not need to be synchronized with HR object data All business partner data is consistent with HR object data.
Yellow traffic light Business partner does need to be synchronized with HR object data Business partner exists. The business partner data is not consistent with the HR object data.
Red traffic light Object data is new and must first be created for the business partner The business partner does not yet exist or the the business partner data is incomplete.
No traffic light Object type does not include this type of data Check type is not relevant for this object.
    Activities
To integrate business partners or to repair selected objects, you must select the relevant lines in the object list and choose Execute. Any errors that occur are displayed after synchronization.
    Hope this will help.
Please reward suitable points, incase it suits your requirements.

  • How to change Business partner PERSON in GTS system

    Hi,
I have developed an program to create business partner (Person, Contact person and Organization). But now I have to include code for changing Business partner.
I have used BAPI_BUPA_FS_CREATE_FROM_DATA2   BAPI for Person creation. But now I am not finding any BAPI to change PERSON business partner.
Let me know a BAPI or any other way to change PERSON BP.
    Thanks

    Hi experts,
I am facing the exact same issue and was wondering:
    1.  Are there specific authorization objects that I can use to limit access on the web UI based on BP roles?  I found authorization object B_BUPA_RLT.  But does this work for just SAP GUI or web GUI as well?
    2.  I have read threads relating to another solution, to use a BADI to alternate configuration views.  Are there any other alternative solutions that are purely configuration based?
    Vinay,
Could you provide details on which solution you eventually went with to solve your problem?
    Thanks,

  • How to Business Partner Link with HR data

    Dear All,
When we are using Classic Real Estate where Creating Business Partner (FOXG) tab is available Employment data & field personnel number also table check tick mark HR ORG.LINK and EMPLOYEE so, we can check this field with HR table,
Now we are going to Flexi Real Estate, with Using Business Partner (BP) with role BUP003, there is one field available Personnel Number, but this Field is not checking any HR table. We can put any number in this field it is accepted so how to check this field with HR Link.
Also when putting any number in this field there is no any report populate this field.
    Regards,
    Nilesh.

    Hi Nilesh,
You can create a Customer for employee, where you will be having field Personal Number (you can check in Table KNB1) and then from Customer you can create Business Partner.
For creation of Business Partner from Employee customer you might need custom program if there are no relavant setting in SPRO
    Thanks

  • Business Partner records with large numbers of addresses -- Move-in issue

    Friends,
Our recent CCS implementation (ECC6.0ehp3 & CRM2007) included the creation of some Business Partner records with large numbers of addresses.  Most of these are associated with housing authorities, large developers and large apartment complex owners.  Some of the Business Partners have over 1000 address records and one particular BP has over 6000 addresses that were migrated from our Legacy System.  We are experiencing very long run times to try to execute move in's and move out's due to the system reading the volume of addresses attached to the Business Partner.  In many cases, the system simply times out before it can execute the transaction.  SAP's suggestion is that we run a BAPI to cleanse the addresses and also to implement a BADI to prevent the creation of excess addresses.
Two questions surrounding the implementation of this code.  Will the BAPI to cleanse the addresses, wipe out all address records except for the standard address?  That presents an issue to ensure that the standard address on the BP record is the correct address that we will have identified as the proper mailing address.  Second question is around the BADI to prevent the creation of excess addresses.  It looks like this BADI is going to prevent the move in address from updating the standard address on the BP record which in the vast majority of cases is exactly what we would want.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation of excess BP addresses and how did you handle the manipulation and cleansing of the data and how do you maintain it going forward?
Our solution is ECC6.0Ehp3 with CRM2007...latest patch level
Specifically, SAP suggested we apply/review these notes:
Note 1249787 - Performance problem during move-in with huge addresses
    **applied this ....did not help
Note 861528 - Performance in move-in for partner w/ large no of addresses
    **older ISU4.7 note
    Directly from our SAP message:
    use the function module
BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_REMOVE or run BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CHANGE to delete
    unnecessary business partner addresses.
Use BAdI ISU_MOVEIN_CUSTOMIZE to avoid the creation of unnecessary
business partner addresses (cf. note 706686) in the future for that
    business partner.
Note 706686 - Move-in: Avoid unnecessary business partner addresses
Does anyone have any suggestions and have you used above notes/FMs to resolve something like this?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Nick:
One thing to understand is that the badi and bapi are just the tools or mechanisms that will enable you to fix this situation.  You or your development team will need to define the rules under which these tools are used.  Lets take them one at a time.
BAPI - the bapi for business partner address maintenance.  It would seem that you need to create a program which first read the partners and the addresses assigned to them and then compares these addresses to each other to find duplicate addresses.  These duplicates then can be removed provided they are not used elsewhere in the system (i.e. contract account).
BADI - the badi for business partner address maintenance.  Here you would need to identify the particular scenarios where addresses should not be copied.  I would expect that most move-ins would meet the criteria of adding the address and changing the standard address.  But for some, i.e. landlords or housing complexes, you might not add an address because it already exists for the business partner, and you might not change the standard address because those accounts do not fall under that scenario.  This will take some thinking and design to ensure that the address add/change functions are executed under the right circumstances.
    regards,
    bill.

  • Mass Update of Business Partner Data in CRM

    Hi,
I would like to know how I can perform a mass update of business partner data in CRM and then have this replicated into R/3.
I have found notes 802804, 876602, 859632 but these only apply to CRM 5.0 and we are currently working on CRM 4.0.  Does anyone know of anything similar which exists in CRM 4.0?
I have checked other posts and found help files links like the one below but is this only on CRM 5.0?  (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/3c/9b56fae6c7424cafcdf17370399812/frameset.htm )
Has anyone used the tx. MASS in CRM?
Also our volume update levels is as high as 300,000 record and updating in CRM and replicating into R/3 through the middleware is causing performance problems.
Does anyone have any tips on the best approach for this?  Many thanks.
    Regards
    JoJo

Mass not available in 4.0, could write your own LSMW routine but you still will create bdocs for updates so not sure how that will improve your performance.

  • Business Partner - person not available in WFM core

Having created a business partner in BP transaction (role 'Resource), when I try staffing it to a role at the fron end, I get the message "Person XYZ is not known in WFM core."
What all need to be done to be able to staff?
    Thanks all.

    Hi,
In order to use Business partnesr as resources in cPorjects, create BP with role "Employee"
You can use Transaction BP for the same.

  • Writing an Upload Program for Business Partner, its address and Attributes

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I am in process of writing a tech design and code for an upload program which requires uploading a list of million Business Partners, its address (primarily Zip Code) and a list of Marketing Attributes of those Business Partners. The data will come in a .csv extract which will contain the BP Name, Zip Code, Marketing Attributes (X, Y, Z, etc) and then through this upload we will be creating BPs in the system and then updating its address and then Marketing Attributes.
The approach that I have chosen is -
    1) Select the file from the presentation server using the class/method CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES /GUI_UPLOAD FM
    2) Call the FM TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP to transfer the content of the MS Excel file to an internal table for further processing.
    3) Call the FM - BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA and pass the necessary parameters to upload/create the Business Partner and then call the FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to ensure the upload is complete.
    4) Once the upload of BP is complete, then upload the address (Zip Code) data through the FM - BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_ADD and then call the FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to ensure the address upload is complete.
    5) Post the upload of BP and address data, call the FM CRM_MKTBP_PROCESS_BP_LIST to upload the Marketing Attributes of the Business Partners to the relevant tables and then again call the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
I just wanted to check if the above steps are correct or am I missing something important there??
Would appreciate expert opinion/guidance on this.
There is a time constraint on completing this; hence would appreciate a quick and reliable response to it.
    BR,
    Ravi

    Hi Clemens,
    Thanks for your input.
So, just wanted to re-iterate the points you highlighted -
    1) Instead of presentation server, you want the file to be read from application server and schedule this program as a background job? Am I following you correctly?
    2) Link the address upload along with the BP upload only (at the same time instead of separately) to ease of double processing through one FM - BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA
    3) Calling BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT every 1000 BPs or so for faster processing.
However, you did not mention anything about attribute upload. Is that approach fine? or do I need to include anything more there?
Please confirm and then I can close this question.
    BR,
    Ravi

  • How create a business partner (BUP1) with a default field?

    HI,
I need to implement these changes, when the user calls the transaction BUP1:
    - The user must create a Business Partner with a field already filled by default.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
When you create an Attribute set there is a check box named 'Default'. When you select this field then your attribute set will appear as default. You can do the same for the attributes, if you want to define a default value for an attribute.
Also, in Customizing spro > Cross-Application Components> SAP business Partner --> business Partner --> Basic Settings --> Field Groupings --> Configure Field attributes per activity,  it is possible to define, if you create a customer, that the Attributes Set field should be : displayed, hidden etc.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi Thierry,
thank you for that suggestion. I've already found [ODS for Marketing Attributes|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/07/d545a50869754fbad8062e17c2ea0e/frameset.htm] when I've searched in the CRM Documentation. I've just asked my BI colleague to do the extract to BW. I will then write a Web Service on the BW which can be called from the external system.

Can some one help me?? I have also put myself in PPOMW (created a new test org. structure and put myuser ID in there).

    Hello Naeem,
I normally create this relationship in the organizational model (old transaction PPOMA_CRM and also somewhere in the WebUI). There you can assign persons to organizational units. You normally do this to group your sales reps.

    Hi!
I need to compute Density value using two attributes being shown in my jsp (i.e. bindings.Spacing and bindings.Area), Density = bindings.Area/bindings.Spacing.
How can I do this in JDev 10.1.2 in my jsp?

    Hello pino,
Can you show me how to create a backing bean in JDev 10.1.2? What I usually work on is the DataForwardAction code in this version of JDev. Is this the "backing bean" you're talking about? If so, can you give me sample code?

It seems wrong that I can't use a basic xpath feature like the @ to refer to an attribute here. Nor does the alternative axis syntax attribute:: work.
It's almost like there isn't a real XPath implementation under there.

    Hi Chris,
I remember an earlier discussion along these lines... I haven't tested this myself, but the docs do say this:
    Generic File Loading Overrides
This feature allows you to place application-specific files to be overridden into a new optional subdirectory (named /AppFileOverrides) in the existing plan directory structure. The presence or absence of this new optional subdirectory controls whether file overrides are enabled for the deployment. If this subdirectory is present, an internal ClassFinder is added to the front of the application and module classloaders for the deployment. As a result, the file override hierarchy rules follow the existing classloader and resource loading rules and behaviors for applications. For more information on WebLogic Server application classloading, see WebLogic Server Application Classloading in Developing Applications for Oracle WebLogic Server.
It seems to me that this would be the way to customise the bc4j.xcfg in the deployment plan. In the 10g days, I did this by building my EARs using ANT - I had several bc4j.xcfg files sitting in a separate directory, and each of my targets (dev/test/qa/prod) used the appropriate bc4j.xcfg to build the EAR. I did do a bit of research, and I didn't find anything obvious that would let you use a deployment plan directly for changing bc4j.xcfg - you cannot use the WLS console to change any of the properties (if you could do it via a deployment plan directly, I would expect to find the option there).
Sorry for the rambling post which doesn't give you any definitive answers, but it's just a brain dump at this point.

  • How to assign contact person with user id to vendor via upload

    Dear All,
We have successfully uploaded external business partner (Vendor) from ECC6 to SRM5.0  via BBPGETVD. So vendor is available in PPOMV_BBP.
Now we would like to assign the contact person with user ID to this vendor so that he can logon to our system and update Bid.
If we create contact person (employee) via "Manage Business Partner", system provides the option to create contact person and User ID under "Employee for Business Partner".
But we can create contact person one by one, if our client have 600 vendors from ECC and already transferred to SRM.
How to rapidly create and assign contact person to all vendors ?
Who have any ideas for upload via text file or excel sheet please advice me.

  • DTW Problem - Business Partner Upload

    HI everyone,
I have a question regarding the upload of business partner in the DTW. I am using two templates the Business Partner and the Business Partner Address. After the upload process, only the first record has been successfully uploaded according to the LOG File and the succeeding record has an error.
"An account with the same code already exists.(OCRD.Cardcode). '200002'Application defined or object defined error 65171".
But when I look into the database no record has been added. I see to it that the Test Run box is also unchecked.
What seems to be the problem?
    Thanks in advance..
