Material description - different language

Dear Experts,
We have material with both English and Spanish descriptions. When I create purchase order in English log on or Russian log on, system is picking the description based on the vendor language. It sounds like logical that purchase order is recieved by vendor and hence its picking the vendor language.
But is there any way that material description should refer the log on language and not the vendor language.

I am trying to understand the description for material.
But in the same context, I am facing problem with plant description which is maintained in two different languages using international version. But system is picking only one langauge in both English and Spanish.

Routine for Material Description in language DE instead of EN in report o/p

Hi all,
We need to display material description/text in terms of DE language insted of EN at o/p the report.
It's a masterdata(0material) info object.There are many fields at report level,Only for this perticular field text only they want in DE language,remaining all in EN only.
How can we do langualge translations in BI.How can we achive this?
If any body implimented with routines plz share the information.

Please follow these steps :
go to RSA1-> Translation ->infoobject ->select object ->Create a piece list for Translation ->Create a Object List Go to transaction LXE_MASTER. In the evaluations tab, choose Object List->in the object List dialog box, choose create option ->Assign the Piece List->Generate the Object List.->
Schedule the background job which will generate the object list
Once the job for generating the object list is finished, please go to se63 ->Check your Default settings ->select Source Language and Target Language ->
Access your personal work list ->Enter target Language texts for BI objects in the Worklist ->Run the program RSO_AFTER_TRANSLATION ->Verify the translation in the respective object maintenance screen.

Sitting here and reading your crisp question (after I've locked your even more crisper question), it's very difficult to suggest you to do anything.
Firstly, we need to know why you need to delete the Material Description from a standard transaction. If this is a Business requirement, only your Business know why this is needed - Im sure you have no clue about it either.
Secondly, we need to know if this is a requirement that has been handed down to you by your Functional Consultant, or if it's a figment of your own imagination.
Thirdly, we want to know why your Functional Consultant (if any) has not suggested you a suitable suggestion, especially when a "fresher" abap is behind the controls.
Fourthly, please tell us why you are not ready to contact SAP and seek their advice.

Hi,
For a single material code maintaining multiple text in the same language is not possible,
this contradicts the basic principle of consistancy.
Howevery you are free to do R&D, if sucessful please let me know.

you either create a quickview by joining MARC and MAKT tables for this.
or much easier. you press F4 in a material number field.
then you go to search help W plant material.
there you erase the language from the selection pop-up and execute
in the hitlist do a right mouse click and you can directly download

Issue in maintaining hazardous material description in different language.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to display hazardoues material description in xyz langauge on a script.
Table MGEF is the primary table for hazardous material. There is no text table for it.
Field STOFT holds the description of the hazardous material.
Now issue is that as no text table is available for hazardoues material , how the description can be available into multiple langauges ? Also if the text is made available in XYZ langauge in this table on login to XYZ langauge ,then it must be also be displayed in english on login with 'EN' langauge .
Kindly help me in this regard. Also it will be great is someone can tell me how hazardoues material description is maintained in multiple langauages.

You need to maintain the region code "PT" in SPRO>LE>WM>Hazardous material>Master data-->Define region code.
Once done..relogin into system with "PT" language at login page of SAP.
Use VM01.. give material number and region code "PT"..it'll take you to next screen where you can maintain description in Portuguese.

Material Description in different language

We have to show material description on the label. As of now the label description is displaying in English. Material description is also maintained in a language calledd 'Z1'.
So the present requirement is as below
1. If the material description exists in English language and Z1 language then the 'Z1 language' description is to be shown
2. If the material description exists in English language and not in Z1 languae then 'EN' language description is to be shown.
Please suggest on this with the code if available with you.

Different material description for RG1 register

Dear Experts,
I have a client requirement for change in material description (materialmaster) to a different description.
The description maintained in material master is for viz
SS CT BT 200mm-123-093MKO
But excise need description
SS BILLET
Where to maintain this additional description in material master and fetch the same for RG1 register.
Let me know any stranded user exit is available. If the above case is possible than also let me know what would be the bad implications on processes (like stock will not match with description).

Material description in logon language at Purchase Requisition

Hi firends,
I am working an international company. Our manager is login system different language (DE) When I create a new Purchase Requisition (My logged language is TR) my PR document contain materials TR description. For release manager cann't understanda something from this PR because he logged to system DE and all PR material rows are have Turkish description.
How can I fix this? Do you have any solutyion?

For example I want to buy 1234567 material
TR : Malzeme
EN : Material
DE : das Material
I have been sign in system TR language. And I am creating new Purchase Requisition. 1234567 material now in my requisition list. And it is looking 1234567 Malzeme
My manager sign in system DE language. When he looking my requisition for approvment. He see my requisition list
1234567 Malzeme
But my manager want to see is 1234567 das Material.
How can I do this?

Screen Display Language of Material Descriptions in PO vs Output Documents

Greetings Experts,
We have the requirement to display material descriptions in purchase order screens as well as other screens in language dictated by user setting and not the business partner preference. Currently, when we log on as user with English language setting and create purchase order for vendor with a Korean language setting, the material description in the screen is displayed in Korean. So it appears that system ignores the UI preference and displays the material description in the vendor's language/comunication preference. We see this same behavior in other SAP transactions as well. Is there a way for display language for material description to be dictated by user logon preference while retaining ability to output documents that are required in vendor's preferred language?

The material description will come from the material master record, so whic language you are entering in the material master it automatically pick to the purchasing documents.
If you need material description in different language you can do this in material master itself goto additional data and maintain there.

Populating Description in different language

While Creating a material i want to populate the material description in different languages (German and Chinese).
But the problem is how to convert the description in different languages in program.
Is there any function module available for translation ?

my Requirement:
Material is created in Windchill and then it comes to SAP through a Z BAPI, we are using 'BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA' in this Z BAPI to save the material.
I want to populate the materialdescription table in the save Bapi with the descriptions in different languages along with English. So that the MAKT table will have the description in different languages.
But the problem is, how to translate material description in some other language, is there any function module available to translate ?

Material descriptions in chinese language is not transferred to SRM

Hi All,
We have an issue in transfering material description in chinese language from ECC to SRM.
We are on SRM 5.5 and ECC 6.0
I've set filter in R3AC1 with Table name "matk" anf field "SPRAS" to take care of language.
This works fine for all language except chinese both for initial and delta down load.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Material Description in Sales Order based on Ship to Party Language

As we know that Material Description coming in Sales Order is based on the Language setup in Sold to Party. Is there any way I can get the Material description based on the Language setup in Ship to Party?
If not in Sales Order then anyway I can get the Material description based on the Language setup in Ship to Party in "Delivery" or do I have to use the user exit to do so?

Why u r bother about translation of language description in sales order from ship to party n all.
c u can even take language description from sold to party, as u wanted from Ship to party. for this u just have to maintain language in alternate data tab in CMR.
