Material specification and Inspection plan - Task list usage

Dear Friends,
In inspection type  Task list usage is assigned
For Example
inspection type 01  -  usage - 03
inspection type 05  -  usage - 05
inspection type 06  -  usage - 07
inspection type 10  -  usage - 06
In my scenario i want to use all the above inspection type for a product
if i use mateial specification there is no any problem with my  Task list usage
If suppose i use inspection plan do i need to create different inspection plan with different usage
or is it possible to create one inspection plan with all the above usage
what about universal usage 03  can i use it
i try to use but system does not triggering inspection lot
can any one Suggest some ideas
Many Thanks & Regards
Raj

Hi Raju,
All of first pls understand the concept of Task list and specification.
If you need to inspection any material in very systematic manner, where you will have well segregated operations where the appropriate Work Centers will be bind and under that hierarchy MIC will be attached. The inspection will be governed by some inspection points. And according the the same Samples will be calculated. When you wanna go with all these functionality then you must have to use Task list (Inspection plan).
And if you don't wish to have these functions then simply go with the material specification.
Now it comes the actual query about task list usage.
If there is a common inspection plan is supposed to be used for all the inspection types for your material then you can prepare only one inspection plan, put ant of the Usage to it it can be 05 or 03 universal. But what you have to do is,
Go to SPRO->Quality Management->Quality Inspection->Inspection Lot Creation->Maintain Inspection Types Execute and set the Task list usage as the same it is set in the inspection plan for all those Inspection types for which that common inspection plan is supposed to be used.
Note:- There is no any link between inspection lot creation and task list usage of inspection plan.

  • Difference between Material Specs and Inspection Plan

    Hi ALL,
Whats the difference between Material Specifications and Inspection plan...?...Why Material Specification is required in QM...?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ameya K.

    Hi Ameya,
The first thing is that material spec is the client level data in QM where as Inspection plan is the plant level.
    <u><b>
Case 1:</b></u>    Suppose that there is an attribute Viscosity whivh needs to be checked whose UCL & LCL is 10 to 15. But in one plant where some highy precise requirement is there ...... then in that case we want that for that plant for the material viscocity should be 5 to 7 . In that case the requirement of the inspection plans comes in to picture .
<b><u>Case 2 :</u></b>    The material got one extra attribute needs to be checked for some plant .... in that case we need to maintain inspection plan for that material with both Insp with material spec &   insp with inspection plan need to be checked  so that during the result recording apart from the attributes in the material spec this extra attribute gets populated from inspection plan
Note : Apart from this as in material spec the data is maintained in the client level the load in the database will be compartively less  as there will not be any duplication of data which will be there in case of plant level data for the same material ..........
I hope this will add some info apart from what the gurus has suggested above .....
    Please reward points if helpful.....
    Thanks & Regrads

  • QM Material specification with inspection plan

    Hello,
I'm trying to setup QM material spec with inspection plan and it doesn't work.
I setup material master (With insp plant and with material spec).
I Created a characteristic that I used in my inspection plan and maintained the characteristic in the material specification.
When I create an inspection lot (89), the characteristic is always inserted at the end instead of redefining my specifications into the pre-defined characteristic.
    Have I missed something?

    As per our business scenario for Pharmaceutical we use Inspection with attached MIC with Sampling and Sample drawing Procedure, Sampling scheme to check the Quality of RM/PM/FP, can u give me some idea regarding;
    1) Material Specificaton in Inspection plan
    2) Reference Operation set with its use.
    3) Dynamic Modification Rule
    As for pharma we do;
    1) Create MIC
    2) Create Inspection plan
    3) Attaching the MIC to an Inspection plan with sampling and sample drawing procedure
    4) Attacing an Inspection Plan to an Inspection Lot
    5) Result Recording and Usage Decision of Inspection lot for
In Automotive and othe Process Industry how the Dynamic modification rule, reference operation set, material specification flow.
    Reply will be rewarded

  • Specifications and Inspection Plans

    Hi,
I have few questions regarding Specs and Inspection plans.
    1) What is the primary purpose of specifications(CG02 transaction)?
    2) What is the use of specficications in QM and EHS modules?
    3) How are specifications related to Inspection plans?
    4) What is the business advantage by enabling specification data to be copied directly into Inspection plans?
    Thanks in adavnce
    Vishnu

The idea is that you can maintain all the specs in the EH&S module in one place.  Specs are used of course to evaluate the material and make sure the material is what it is suppose to be.
The transferring however of the specs from the EH&S module to QM however leaves a lot to be desired.  I don't recommend it at this time.  If  you attempt to do it, plan on bringing in a consulting partner or consultants.  You'll probably wind up doing a lot of coding to make it work for you as there isn't much flexibility or functionality as it is currently delivered.  All IMHO.

  • Inspection Plan Task List Intervals

Does anyone know if it is possible to create two task lists within an inspection plan, with the same usage, and have only one be active at a time depending in the date?  The scenario is this...we have different specifications on a given product depending on the time of year (summer, winter, etc) and as opposed to manually setting one to "Q" (approved) and one to "HLD" I thought maybe there was some 6.0 functionality that would allow SAP to change this for me?
    Thank you in advance!
    vee

Nothing along those lines. But here's another option for you.
Create two insepction types.  For instance.. 04S and 04W.  Assign each inspection type a different plan usage.  In the summer, all the materials would have 04S activated as the preferred inspection type.  In the winter, on the approriate date, use QA08 to change over all your materials to 04W which, since it has different plan usage, would use the "winter" inspection plan.
In the summer, on the correct date, use QA08 again to switch the materials back to the summer plan by activating and setting as preferred, the 04S inspection type.

  • Task list usage inspection plan - Universal 3 and GR 5

    Dear Friends,
while creating Inspection plan for GR inspection from Procurment it is advisable to use Task list usage 5 or usage 3 which is universal
may i know what is the difference
    Please advise also
There is task list type  Goods receipt model  -    501  which  is Material, vendor and manufacturer what that mean and where it  is used
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Hi Rajkumar,
While planning an Inspection, which Task List gets assigned to which Inspection Lot is linked through combination of TaskList Usage and Lot Inspection Type
In spro (at the location as suggested above) we assign TaskList usage to the Inspection Type. When any Lot is created based on the setting in QM view of MM, it looks for this link for automatic assignment to the lot.
For your question "while creating Inspection plan for GR inspection from Procurment it is advisable to use Task list usage 5 or usage 3 which is universal"; both options will work as long as the above config in spro is maintained.
It is however advisable to use the standard option of TaskList Usage of  05 as it is easier to segregate and analyse TaskList / Inspection Plans based on their usage; in case any need arises.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    RKM.

  • Inspection task list usage is not picking automatically?

    Hi all,
whenever I create inspection lot for source inspection (for PO) through Qi07, in the inspection lot, task usage assigned as a 6(goods issue), but i will assign 3 (universal) later on for the source inspection ( with respect to PO)in qa32 & later on i will proceed. But i want the system to assign the  3 (task list usage) automatically for all the inspection lots, how to enable the same?
    regards,
    Sanju

    Hi
In the SPRO setting for inspection type, you can assign default usage. I am not having system access right now, so cant give you exact path. But approx. QCC0--insp lot creation-maintain insp type/default values for inspection type.
Try if this solves your issue.

  • Task list usage

    Dear Guru's
I thank for your support, because of which iam able to perform well.
I have a doubt in Task list usage.
I can create various task lists (Gen, Eqp & FL). How to assign General Task list to an equipment or functional location.
How it is useful in maintenance processing , notification and orders.
    Please guide me.
    Regarrds,
    Kartik

    Hi Kartik,
    1. Tasklist is a word largely associated with Maintenance Orders.
    2. As the name indicates General Maint. Tasklist can be used irrespective of,  on which Technical Object the Maintenance Order is being created.
    3. The other Tasklists are made on Technical Object specific
TasklistTypes: E for Equipment, A for General Maint T for F/Locn
Now when you create a Maintenance Order on an Equipment/FLocn and you do not have respective Tasklists then you do this in Order to assign the GM Tasklist. As soon as you do this the operations of the Tasklist are imported into the Order.
When you have a Tasklist on the Reference Object (Equipment/FL) on which you are creating the Tasklist, then you do this to automatically import the
    respective Operations to the Order

  • Planning Task List Due Date

    Dear All,
When we create planning task list we can aslo assign due date for each task with in task list.
This due date has three components
    1. Date
    2. Time
    3. Alert
However time is denoted in EDT (Estern Daylight Time).
As we are implementing the project in India we need to have Indian Standard Time (ISD) instead of EDT. Is this possible.
Further if useres are spread across the globe is it possible to set different alert times for different users. For this i think we need to replicate the task list with due date set users specific.
Can anyone provide with screen shot of delayed activities, completed activities based on due date previously assigned.
    Thanks and regards
    Payous999

    Hi Payous999,
    Let me explain in steps
    1. EDT , You are viewing EDT because the system on which Planning has been installed has its time zone set as EDT.
    2. Once ,we change the time zone of the server/ system from EDT to IST ( in you case ) , then try to create a task list , it will show you IST.
    3. Screen shots and more of task list information can be found in the guide itself.

  • Usage decision and inspection plan

    Hi,
    1. Once Usage decision has been done, can we still change it? how can i set that it can be changed?
2.Is it possible to create an Inspection plan for a group of material? for example, I just need to maintain 1 Inspection plan for 30 material. something like it can be group like reference operation set? if yes how? if no, why?
    Thank you so much,
    raymond

    Hi
    Hi,
    1. Once Usage decision has been done, can we still change it? how can i set that it can be changed?
Yes UD  can be changed anytime but you can not change the stock postng. Also for history in QM view tick on "document req"
2.Is it possible to create an Inspection plan for a group of material? for example, I just need to maintain 1 Inspection plan for 30 material. something like it can be group like reference operation set? if yes how? if no, why?
Yes this is possible through QP01/02 --->in header there is one tab"Material assignment" here you can enter
Group conter (same say "1" ) material & plant.
Same Inspection plan is reffered to the multiple materials. You can add as materials possible.
But remember that Unit of measurement of all materials must be same.

  • Inspection with Task List Issue

    Hi Gurus,
I have a situation where I am creating a "shell" Material. We are taking samples of Blood and just throwing them away. We don't need to have Inventory on them or costing.  I just want to use the QM module to keep the inspection results/data.
I had my Materials team set up a Material with only the Basic Data 1&2 views and the QM view. I want to use Physical Samples to keep track of how many samples we inspect.
My issue is... I tried to Inspect with a Task List and it is "Greyed" out on the Material Master. It will not let me select it. I am using the inspection type 15 (Physical Sample).
Can someone PLEASE help me get this Task List check box not grey?
    Thanks so much

This field should be defaulted in from configuration.  Change the defaut vales for inspection type 15 in configuration.
I think someone, at some point, changed this config in your system as I believe this is delivered by SAP as defaulted for inspection type 15.
You might try using mass transation QA08 to set this for any materials you have already set up after changing the config.

  • Objects last change and history of task/method usage

    Dear all,
I'd like to find out the last modifcation date and also the user who did it. Do you know if there is a possibility to display the user and also the date of the last change within UCWB for instance for task or method change?
The task/method settings in SEM-BCS are time dependent: Do you have any idea if it's possible to see the time frame in which a method is in use?
    Example:
I've assined method M1 to task A in period 01/2009. Since 01/2010 method M1 is not any longer in use and was substituted by method M2.
Is there any report, transaction, table or option to check this constellation? At the moment, I've always to change the parameters in order to find out differences, but this is not very comfortable.
I thought that if I change a task for a period that then this change will become effective for all following periods. But this is not the case. Is this system behaviour correct? For instance, customize a task in period 01/2009 and afterwards the same task in period 01/2008. Settings in period 01/2009 remain the same.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Daniel,
Is there any report, transaction, table or option to check this constellation?
    - none that I'm aware of.
I thought that if I change a task for a period that then this change will become effective for all following periods. But this is not the case. Is this system behaviour correct? For instance, customize a task in period 01/2009 and afterwards the same task in period 01/2008. Settings in period 01/2009 remain the same.
    - it's the real system behaviour. When you do everything consequently (by time) - everything is ok. But, if you change something in the past periods and do not repost all entries afterwards- expect the trouble. Though, even reposting may not correct the situation - because of the SAP's time dependency treatment.

  • Inspection plan Vs Material specification

What is the difference between this and their limitation ,,when we have to use Inspection plan and when for the Material specification ?..Any detailed explanation   please
    Thanks for the help

Inspection plan and when for the Material specification
Inspection plan is plant specific material & plant combination.Means if same material is used in other plant you can not have Inspection plan of other plant used.
Whereas when you hava material specs then it is not plant specific.Nce created it can be used for any plant.
This can be used when your specifications are not plant depeendent.

  • INspection plan selction

    Hi,
I want a clarification. A material is having a Inspection plan -task list with 3 group counters. When the inspection lot is created against process order, what is the group counter will be selected.
How is selection triggered to select the inspection plan.
    thanks and regards
    Muruegsan

    Hi,
If the following fields are same for all three inspection plan, then it will show all three inspection plans and you have to pick one manually.
If the following fields are same for all the group counters,,,,,,,
    - Lot size
    - Usage
    - Status
    - The valid from date is prior to the inspection lot
    - Material is assigned to all three.
And if any one from above fields differ from the rest will be filtered accordingly.
    r.g.
If the Usage is not matching with the inspection lot for  group counter 2, it will filtered
If the Status is not released for group counter 3, it will be filtered
Now according to this example only group counter 1 is eligible to get attached will the lot, so it will be attached.
I hope it clears your understanding, if ant further clarification required pls revert.
