Maximum length of header in the file on the application server?

Hi there,
 I am uploading a file on the application server. I am writing the header separately which is column heading in char format. Then I am writing the data to that file.
 Now the problem is, I am unable to get more than 256 chars for each line in the file, including header, in AL11 file view and while I am downloading that file on to my desktop, I am not getting more than 256 chars from header line in my excel sheet however I am getting all the chars i.e. more than 256 chars of all the data line.
 Please can you tell,what could be the problem or let me know any way to see and download all the header line fields.

I am using more than 256 chars at both the places i.e. header and data line. Still I am not getting more than 256 chars in the file.
However while downloading that file onto the desktop, it is not showing more than 256 chars for the header part, but it showing all the values of data line, exceeding 256 chars.

Checking the file content in application server

Hi,
I am writing an XML file from the raw XSF data from a smartform auto generated function module through OPEN DATASET command in BINARY MODE. When I go to tcode AL11 to check the content of the XML file, I can see only the first few bytes of it as it looks like one single line in AL11. Is there any way so that I can read the whole content of the file in the application server itself without downloading it into my local machine.

You may try eigther transaction AL11 with allows you to browse files and display their content(as long they are textfiles).
If you need specific conversion an own report may help:
first read the file via dataset commands
if content is non readable convert it to chars
split the string into a char or string table
use the command 'editor-call' (check online help) to display this table.

a) The output file is opened 'in text mode' which does not allow to write non-character-like structures to the file via the TRANSFER command.
b) The file is downloaded in the internal representation which uses two bytes per character in a Unicode system. The number of bytes to download is determined from the number of characters in the SAP system, however.

Solution:
You need to put some support packs attached with this note. For that you definitely need to ask YOUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE AN S-USER id at your WORK PLACE.

How to count the total lines of the file (including the file header)

Hi all,
I am working with Idoc to file scenario(FCC).
I need to map one of the field with a recound count ie.., count of the total lines of the file (including the file header).
Eg:Record Count-- mapping area:Total number of records in the file including file header The total line of the file (including the file header).
Can i get a help on this.

Hi !
If there is a tag of your IDOC that occurs the same quantity of times as file lines you have to create in your target file, you could make a Java user defined function in graphical mapping that "caches the entire queue" (use the corresponding option button), that receives as input that field of the IDOC, and returns the "lenght" (.length property value) of that input parameter (it is an array) as output..that should be the file line quantity..you may also add 1 to that count, for the header.

Multiple drag emails from Mail to a finder window and for it to name the files as the subject heading

I have been using Mac's now for about 10 years and this is my first problem.
I have recently moved into an office that use PC's with a Windows server.
I have set up the network to transfer files and view the windows server and it works fine.
I have a problem in that my colleagues on PC need to be able to view my emails which I send and receive using Mail. They therefore need to have logical title names and the date sent and ideally who to or from. I view them and archive them using Mail which is fine for me.
I understand about the archiving and copying of mailboxes but this gives every email the un-fathomable title name 9944847 etc.
I can get round the problem by dragging and dropping every email I send and receive individually and it will automatically give it a more logical title of the subject heading however the date is when it was dragged not when sent. This is a pain if I am away or forget to save an email for a day or two and then the date is inconsistent.
Is there a way to batch copy emails from Mail to a finder window and for it to name the files as the subject heading or to archive the files in a similar way so they retain the detailed information my colleagues require.
And no I can not get to all change to Mac and I don't really fancy using Outlook, Entourage or Parallels.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. If you get a warning that the file is in use when you try to empty the Trash, log out and log back in.

How can i get also the files in the root directory and how can i for testing add items of IEnumerable FTPListDetail to List string ?

What i get is only the directories and files that in other nodes. But i have also files on the root directory and i never

You can see two directories from the root but no files on the root it self. And in my ftp server host i have files in the root direcory.

Now the main problem is that when i list the files and directories and display them in the treeView it dosen't get/display
the files in the root directory. Only in the sub nodes.
I will see the files inside hello and stats but i need also to see the files in the root directory.
1. How can i get and list/display the files of the root directory ?
2. For the test i tried to add to a List<string> the items in var files to see if i get the root files at all.
This is what i tried in the CreateDirectoryNode before it i added:

Then after var files i did:
testfiles.Add(files.ToList()
But this is wrong. I just wanted to see in testfiles what items i'm getting in var files in the end of the process.
Both var files and directoryListing are IEnumerable<FTPListDetail> type.
The most important is to make the number 1 i mentioned and then to do number 2.

What i mean is this. This is a screenshot of my ftp server at my host(ipage.com).
Now this is a screenshot of my program and you can see that in my program i have only the directories hello stats test but i don't have the files in the root: htaccess.config swp txt 1.txt 2.png....all this files i don't have it on my treeView.
What i want it to be is that on my program on the treeView i will also display the files like in my ftp server.
I see in my program only the directories and the files in the directories but i don't see the files on the root directory/node.
I need it to be like in my ftp server i need to see in my program the htaccess 1.txt 2.png and so on.
So what i wrote in my main question is that in the var files i see this files of the root directory i just don't know to add and display them in my treeView(my treeView is treeViewMS1).
I know i checked in my program in the method CreateDirectoryNode i see in the first iteration of the recursive that var files contain this root files i just dont know how to add and display them in my treeView.
On the next iterations when it does the recursive it's adding the directories hello stats test and the files in this directories but i need it to first add the root files.

Cannot open the file because the open options are incorrect

I'm trying to iterate through a folder of images, open each one of them, duplicate them into another photoshop file and close the individual image. This code works great on a PC (Photoshop CS3), but when I run it on our macs (Photoshop CS3) I will receive the following error on random images. "Error: Cannot open the file because the open options are incorrect" Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I've read about possibly setting the OpenDocumentType but have not seen an example anywhere. This error will sometimes occur after loading in one image or sometimes after 20 images. Sometimes I run it on the same directory multiple times all with various points of error. Sometimes every images is loaded. Any help would be much appreciated. Sample code is below.

It looks as if the folder contains non Photoshop files, one way around the problem would be to change
var fileList = inputFolder.getFiles();
To specify the file types you want to process IE:
var fileList = inputFolder.getFiles(/\.(jpg|tif|psd|crw|cr2|nef|dcr|dc2|raw)$/i);

Split the file in the batches of 1000 records

Hi,
I need to read a fixed length file from SAP system and then have to send the file which is combination of a huge number of records (e.g 100000) in the batches of 1000 records each to the target system.The target system which is a third party has a constraint of accepting only 1000 records in a file.
What is the best approach we may use here to split the file in the batches of 1000 records and then send the file to the target.

The adapter will will take care this and split the input file (message) into smaller message batches (set to the number of records defined by you, say 1000). Each of these smaller batches will be processed as per your design and configuration. For example a straight through sender and receiver will have the sender splitting the input file into batches of 1000 messages which will be delivered to your receiver. You could also add a timestamp or the like to stop the file being overwritten at the destination.

How to pull all the txt files from an application server to oracle server

i got some 30 txt files on java application server. i have two questions
1) can java guys will be able to move those files to some oracle directory that will be used by create external table command.
2) can oracle do that using a stored procedure ..but then for it i think i have to create ftppkg and ftpbdy and call and connect each time...
which one is better and why?

The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
Do cleanup.

I read up and I think I am supposed to use exFAT or FAT32? I also saw MS-DOS. Which format should I should use? Will any of them cause damage to the files on the hard drive?
My little memory stick uses MS-DOS and it works on both mac and windows.
Please can you just tell me a little about each and suggest which one to use.
I know how to change it once you tell me so don't waste your time writing about changing it.

If you need to carry large files (e.g., larger than about 4GB) back and forth, you may need ExFAT. Otherwise MS-DOS works for smaller files.
The Mac can Read, but not write Windows New Technology File System (NTFS) without an add-on program such as Paragon NTFS.
