MDM server DB password reset

Hi All,
I am working on SAP MDM 7.1 and would like to reset the password of my MDM DB user which is use to connect to DB. I don't remember the old password and would like to reset it to new.
Could you please support and feedback.
Thanks
Vinod

Hi Ashok,
You can safely use .cmsdbsetup.sh It will not recreate the repository unless you specifically select to do so.
Refer  http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1874399 for detailed steps.
Hope it helps.

  • MDM Server Password Reset

    Hi,
In our MDM, someone has accidently change the password for the Server. As an Admin, how can I reset the MDM Server level Password without knowing the old password.
    Regards,
    Tanveer

    Tanveer,
Only way to do it is go to underlying database, if you have access or a DBO can do that (with all permisions). In database every repository is saved under database tab, there Under tables--> you have mdm user table enteries and the password can be reset.
Otherwise you can not login to repository means no other way to do this.
I hope it will help. Please rewards if found helpful.

  • Can't login to Mac OS X server website after password reset

    Hi,
I set up Mac OS X server for our small company and tried resetting the password of my network account that is managed via profile manager.
So, under Accounts->User->MYUSERNAME->reset Password, I typed in a new one and hit ok.
Now I can't login to the server website anymore (for editing our wiki or using profile manager etc.), neither with the new one nor with the old one.
I already tried different passwords (resetting it again and again), I looked at the password directive, I checked my user name, tried to login from different computers and tried logging in with another account (which worked quite fine, so it's just my account). Finally I searched the internet for a solution for quite some time but didn't find anything similar.
It would be great, if somebody could offer some advice.
    Best regards.
    Lasse

Solved it by deleting the user and creating a new one with the same userID.
Maybe it occured because I marked the "user has to change password after first login" box when resetting the password but didn't yet allow him to do so in the webpages menu?!?

  • Windows Server 2000 Advanced - Administrator Password Reset/Recovery

I took over tech job for church that has Windows 2000 advanced server environment that has mirrored hard drives...Previous tech or person that installed server does not want to play nice with the administrator password and changes have to be made...I
do have an account without administrator privileges but that does not help...so I attempted to reset or blank the administrator with a password reset disk and was not successful...when the partition mounts (while using reset disk) it shows that the
password has been blanked (*BLANK*) but it still does not work...I've also tried putting the hard drives in a regular desktop, used the password reset disk and administrator password showed to be blanked, so I blanked it again for
safe measure, replaced the drives in server and was still not successful...please advise

First of all thanks for your response Amy...Yes it is the domain controller and only server for 7 users and 6 computers...and yes you were right about the DSRM password getting blanked...was able to log into DSRM with blank administrator password but
that did me no good as I was still not able to make changes to the domain because (you may already know) Active Directory is not available in DSRM (it says to logon with domain administration rights)...my goal is to obtain domain
administrator access in order to make changes:  add/remove users and computer account (which is the password the previous tech will not provide)...since this is such a small domain do I need restore Active Directory to reset or get domain administrator
access? Authoritative Restore?  Which method, as a system state backup has never been done?...please advise

I have Verizon Email on my phone, ipad, web-based (yahoo/verizon.net) and outlook iook.com.  At one time all were working but I think I reset a password and then only a few worked.  I have tried new password on all, changed back to the old password on others and didn't touch settings on ipad but can't seem to get them all working again.  I would like to start fresh with a password reset so I can set up accounts on all devices again and try to remedy this frustrating issue.  I have most recently reset the password again to try setting up my Email on my phone only to receive  a password authentication error. Hi Experts,

Will Catalog webservice work, if we don;t define password for MDM server in webservice??if No, then please let me know how to define MDM server password in SRM websevice.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Shiv,
The MDM Server password is needed when you are changing Webdynpro UI Configuration.
For catalogs, all you need is the repository userid/password parameters in the call structutre.

We thought that maybe it was because of the two different servers installation since it used to work when everything was on the same server. Did anyone ever tried the self reset password with the same configuration as we have? Or do anyone know if it is necessary for the task to work to have IdM and the portal on the same server?
Or maybe its a deploying IDMu2019s package problem?
    Regards,
    Clotilde

    Hello
    @Scott
Make sure you have the correct sca file deployed on the portal from your service pack and make sure that the keys.ini file is correctly set up on the portal.
About the sca, we deployed the IDMIC04_0-10007482.SCA (SP4) do we also need to deploy the IDMIC00_0.sca? (we didn't)
About the keys.ini, we deployed the same file in each server.
    @Roy
Have the user prepared the Authq attributes in the identity store, and you are using the correct answers?
Yes, we only use the MX_AUTHQ_001 that we fill with the user's MX_PRIMARY_MAIL when we create it. The encryption is ok and we use the correct answer.
What are your settings on the password reset settings in the Admin MMC?
    The settings are :
    Identification attribute  MSKEYVALUE
No of question to show 1
    No of answers required 1
    Max no of attempts 3
    Password creation method Automatically generate
Save the password to UME no
Which version of the NW are you running?
    7.1 SP4
Did you deploy the correct version of the webui?
    package SP4
Could you try to change the loglevel of the defaulttrace on tcidmjmx-app to debug, and add the section of the log
    where it throws an error.
I tried to do it but I didn't find where I'm supposed to configure that. Could you please help me on that or send me a link to a documentation that would explain it?
    Thanks a lot,
    Clotilde

  • Flying Blind into a Mac OS X Server Password Reset

Let me preface my questions with the note that I am experienced with general OS X user administration but I am coming off of 5 years of heavy Windows network consulting and administration. I'm comfortable with the command line (have a good deal of *nix experience) and patient enough to read everything when solving problems of this sort.
I am going into a site with almost zero documentation, where the existing network admin was the jack of all trades in IT support for the company. The old admin up and quit and now we have no access to login to the Mac OS X Server. I do not know if it is running open directory (all os x clients are 'local' users but each user does have the ability to login to shares on the server with a user/pass).
I believe the server is 10.5.x
We need to reset the admin user password, but if it is running OD will I run into issues if I follow the standard reset using the install disk?
How can I determine if it is actually running open directory without a logon account?
Suggestions welcome! I'm searching apple support, forums, and googling thoroughly as well, but figured posting here can't hurt.

Using the standard password reset should not affect other accounts.

  • New password to MDM server

    Hi All
We have SAP MDM test environment, where right now we do not have password to MDM server. We would like to change password not to be blank.
Can you tell me what are the consequences for doing so? For example each time we have to log on with our user password and Server password when we would like to perform some actions?
I was asked to get list of all functions we will have to user server password after we will change it from blank.
    our pasword is blank here:
    Open MDM Console
    mount server
right click - choose change password
    Thank you very much.
I was trying to find answer in manuals, but right now with no success.
    Thank you in advance.
    BR
    Michal

    Hi Sani
Thank you for your replay. Can you tell me how complex operations in daily basis we will have after creating a password?
If many functions will require to log on, then maybe is not valid to do it.
Our plan is to move some of the SAP MDM User Administration tasks to other IT department. Therefore I believe is good idea not to have "blank" password.
Do you know what is general "the best MDM procedures" to move some tasks to other delartments? It is good idea to spleat tasks between departments or rathernot,  maybe only one "SAP MDM department" should perform all the tasks in MDM area?
    Thank you in advanced.
    BR

  • OSX Server password reset portal doesn't communicate password requirements

    Here's the story:
We are migrating our users to a new fileserver running OSX Server 2.2.2 on 10.8 from an existing 10.4 server.  We have prepopulated the user accounts with the same login names as our old server, and set temporary passwords for each user that they will need to reset.  The plan was to have each user set their custom password via the built in web portal.  We've got Windows and Mac Users, so we are expecting at least the windows users will have to set their passwords this way, as the Mac users can be forced to reset their password at first login.
The issue is that we are are implementing stronger password requirements on the new server, but the password reset portal doesn't seem to communicate that at all.  When entering the existing password, and a new password that is not strong enough, we get the error:  "Your password could not be changed.  Please retype your old password and try again" which is misleading because it is an issue with the new password being too weak, not the old password being incorrect.
Is this normal behavior for this reset portal?  It's pretty basic, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's just the way it is, but we are looking for a way to keep it as simple as possible for our users, and to avoid unnecessary confusion.
For the record, our password requirements are:
password minimum length = 8 characters
    passwords must contain:
    at least one letter
    at least one number
    at least one special character
differ from last 5 passwords used
    be reset on first login

    Another helpful forum user said:
Then you might try this procedure to create a new administrator account:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/08/10/forgot-mac-password-how-to-reset-mac-password/
Which i tried. I ran through the help link above which all seemed to work until the end... and i got this error...
Which means i couldn't get to the part that sets up a new user. :-(

  • MDM Server Window Service failed after adding server password

After adding MDM server password, MDM server window service can't start up. We have to use clix command to start the server. Is there anyway to fix window service problem?

    Hi Jean,
From the version number it sounds like you're using version 5.5 SP4, right? The Console application was significantly changed in SP5 and you would no longer see the locked server icon... If you unmount the server from the Console, and re-mount it, isn't there an option on the context menu for the tree (right-click on the server node) to provide the password? Did you try "Connect to Server" or "Start Server" on this context menu?
Thanks... I don't know if I can help you with your problem, but I will try!

  • Initialization of MDM Server Password

How to initialize MDM Server Password?
While starting Console application, one need to connect to server by starting MDM Server. If it is password protected, how to initialize the password?
How and where these controls are provided?

    Hi Rajesh,
By default, MDM Server is not initialized with any password.
    Setup password for MDM Server:
Once the MDM server is mounted and started. Right click on the server and click "Change Password". Enter the new password and confirm the password.
    1. When you try to mount the password protected MDM server<b>(Which is in Running state)</b> to the MDM Console then it will ask for the password.
    2. If the password protected MDM Server is mounted and stopped. It will ask for the password once you try to start the MDM Server.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • How to reset MS server admin password

    Dear all,
I am from RHEL and is new to solaris. I did not change my messaging server admin password. But he one I used before does not work now. How can I reset admin password? I can login amconsole.
    Thanks in advance.
    Daneil

    Hi Jay,
I broswed this forum and found it looks like a common
issue -- admin password does not work suddenly for
some reason even if you did not change anything when
you use commadmin. But I still can logon Sun ONE
Server Console using the same password. Why does this
password not work with commadmin? When I tried to use
    commadmin, I got
Invalid value for login ID: admin
    Invalid value for login password
    Invalid value for login domain:
I checked the LDAP access log and found the server is
responding to admin during BIND. Responding, how?
    My domain is right,
thus the only trouble maker is password.
I also tried to use amadmin/password (they work with
amconsole), but it does not work either. As you
mentioned, it should work, too. How to make them
    work?
Can you please help me further, Jay?you need to start looking more critically at the ldap logs. It's possible that you have more than one "admin" account, and that's confusing DA.

    I apprieate you very much.
