Media Feature Pack cannot to Install on Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit

Hello, I have Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit in my laptop,,,
recently when I tried install a certain program it showed error telling me that Media Feature Pack is not installed yet in my laptop,, and so I download a windows update standalone installer for windows 8 : Windows6.2-KB2703761-x64.msu,,,
but the problem is each time I try to install it shows error: The Update is Not Applicable to your computer,,
I am certain that I don't have Media Feature Pack in my windows yet,, and if this installer is not the right update for me, which one is?
Please Help Me! I need this solved badly!

Okay, my apologies, but this is the most ridiculously flawed logic i've ever seen: you're essentially stating that MSFT doesn't think business users have any use for windows media center capabilities because enterprise is for so called, "business"
use. I'm surprised that MSFT knows what "all business" needs are...and how media plays no part of "all businesses".
For example, I'm a developer - my company has given me this surface pro w/ enterprise to develop media apps on - so how is this not relevant to people outside of the consumer level? I'm suppose to go back to my boss and just be like, "hey! so funny

Problems still after adding Media Feature Pack (win8.1, 64bit, c660d)

Hi guys!
I.m just after installing win8.1 pro N to my Toshiba Satellite C660D laptop, it was a clean install directly from win7 (so no 8 meanwhile), i updated everything just after install, also the newest Media
Feature Pack (6.3-KB2835517-x64) update to have media content too.
The following problems I had:
still nothing that helps me in media parts (no media player, no sound recording, no webcam-i couldn.t see its place in device manager either)
i couldn.t install one update (error code: 0x80070003 )
and some appeareance problems, might due to the lack of video card driver
and some smaller background missings.
So i.ve installed drivers (it was a collected driver pack by Toshiba, directly to help upgrading from 7 to 8), which made my appereance running good, all the installs came down and installed - but still no media pack (no
player, no mic, no webcam).
If I want to install again 6.3-kb28355.... it tells me that i.ve already did it.
The errors i still have at system logs: some services cant run "the system is configured to not allow interactive services.", and "The server did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." Also
some warnings: "WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped." and "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM.........", this last one is from source "Kernel-Pnp"
Update Troubleshooting tells me that "problems installing recent updates" is Not Fixed, also
SFC Scan (same time at the Command Prompt too) "did not find any integrity violations". However
checkin the updates it comes that I have installed all the recent updates (everything is green and happy)
Since yesterday i.ve tried many many possible solutions; these above are from the last reseting of windows (so there shall be no other disturbing factors in the background (?) ). Please if somebody has any idea what a) happened b) shall i do to fix. Is there
one problem here that might causes the others, or is it more difficult..?

Jdeveloper 11g cannot be installed on Windows with Thai regional settings

I have no idea where to properly submit this issue. Hope I do not abuse this forum for too much.
Jdeveloper 11g cannot be installed on Windows with Thai regional settings configuration.
I've got "A fatal error has occurred. This application will terminate" error dialog, while installing.
I have to change my regional settings to English then install it and change my setting back later.

The error is every easy to reproduce.
1. On Windows XP, goto "Control Panel" -> "Regional and Language Options" -> "Standards and format"; and change that to "Thai"
2. Invoke "jdevstudio11110install.exe"
3. Always click "Next" until the error dialog appear.

From my experience, this always have something to do with the Buddhist Era year system (AD + 543).

VC Redist 2013 cannot be installed on Windows Server 2008 Core

Both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe have this problem. And it can be reproduced 100%.
But all of them can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Core, Windows Server 2012 Core, and Windows Server 2012 R2 Core.
From the log, it seems the installer depends some UI DLLs that are not included in this OS.

I don't think this is a bug. From your description, you want to install VC redist on some servers core for Windows Server 2008, 2012. Based on my knowledge, server core has no graphical user interface (GUI), there is no desktop. Only code written using Windows
application programming interfaces (APIs) can run on Server Core.

The page that is provided to download iTunes 12.1 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1615) points to another page (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) in which it is indicated that the following is required:
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
Where can this installer be downloaded? It seems that it has to be installed before downloading iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit)

No it's not some separate pre install but it does sound like that, its just a poorly written way of saying to download the 64 bit version not 32 bit. Point to note my experience is that using google chrome to get the link will be problematic, use another browser such as Microsoft Explorer. Good luck.

ScanJet 8270 ISIS/TWAIN Drivers and Utilities cannot be installed on Windows 8.1 64Bit

Hello, I've tried to install all the drivers for my ScanJet 8270 on a Windows 8.1 64Bit System. The standard twain and wia drivers installation worked perfect, but when trying to install the "ISIS/TWAIN Drivers and Utilities" the setup hangs (I'm using version 3.0 from 20 Aug 2014 which is currently the latest one). The setup starts, shows a progess bar while extracting the files, but after that nothing happens. After a while I've took a look into Windows task manager and saw, that the process is still running, but doing nothing (no CPU or other resource usage). On Windows 7 everything worked fine, but not on Windows 8. Although the scanner is advertised to work under Windows 8 and this driver is also listed on the driver downlaod page for Windows 8 it's not possible to get it installed on Windows 8. Is HP not testing the setups before shipping them? What can I do to get this driver to run on my PC? Is anyone out there having the same problems and solved them already? I downloaded the new hyperion 11.1.2 include the ODI, and then I extracted the ODI files and I run the setup, but nothing happen? should I extract the files in the same folder as the other hyperion extracted files?

Error: DAC install in Window 32 bit OS

I am trying to Install DAC in window 7 32 bit OS.
DAC installer is unable to launch the Oracle universal Installer.
The error is:
Preparing to launch oracle Universal Installer from c:/users/...local/temp/
Cannot create c:/users/..../local/temp/OraInstall.../oui/bin/platform/win64/Autorun.inf
I tried to invoke the setup from the below location
Disk1\install\win32
but end up in same error.
I have also updated my Path variable with "Disk1\install\win32" folder location. still i am unable to install it

The error is related to permissions on your windows.

OBIEE 11g 64-bit install on Windows 64-bit

I wanted to solicit any experiences that the user forum is having with installing 11g on a 64-bit Windows platform. I understand that the Admintool/Job Manager will not run with the 64-bit installation package but we can install the newly released Client install to circumvent this. I am seeing many forums out there in which the 64-bit OBIEE install is done as Simple or Enterprise. My understanding is that this is useless as the bundled WebLogic utilizes at 32-bit JVM. There is a Doc ID out on Metalink (ID 1220564.1) that states one can only do a Software Install. So we have proceeded with the following steps of downloading first the Java 64-bit JVM, then a WebLogic instance utilizing the 64-bit JVM (java -D64 -jar xxx.jar) and finally the OBIEE Software Only install.
The issue we are running into is that the Install fails when attempting to start the OPMN. So during the install the "Executing:opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1
" fails and references the OPMN not starting. We are unable to start the OPMN service as well. We have a static IP, so this not the known issue with the loopback adapter. The other issue I saw was having to install the VC++ 2005 SP1 libraries per another Metalink Doc ID (1226254.1). This was all done, however, the install continues to fail.
It seems the lack of knowledge from support as well as the vague/lack of documentation is frustrating. I just wanted to ping the OTN community around this scenario.

Thanks Paul, really appreciate the update. Spent this morning rebuilding our environment with 64-bit (Win 2008) and starting from scratch. The install has now succeeded. I tell you one thing you pointed out is something we noticed when we proceeded with the second install. That was the WebLogic version. I had initially used .4 and on the second install we used .3. I am guessing that this may have been the issue.
I will verify with our Oracle resources and I hope this post will assist other when doing the 64-bit install as I think it is very vague in the documentation.
I will update the post with Oracles response as well.
Just as an FYI... the reason this issue came up in the first place was we did an Enteprise Install on 64-bit and found that the Gauge Charts weren't working in the SampleAppLite Subject Area. So I will add that to the Tags for this post.
Hope this post helps others and they don't go through the headaches of a wrong install type.

ITunes Rolldback During Install On Windows 64 Bit

Just upgraded my machine to 64 Bit Windows Ultimate and am trying to install the 64 bit version of iTunes, each time I try it gets to copying files before it rollsback and says iTunes could not be installed at this time. I have tried removing all traces of the files and directories and installing in other directories but I am having no luck installing the program

Yes, this Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS) problem is what I've been talking with Apple Support on since 4/1/10. Basically, AMDS is not being installed and there is no way to install it individually.
From before I contacted Apple Support and since then, I would say that I've done about 6 complete uninstalls and re-installs including creating installation log files. From the log file, which is thousands of lines long, I have identified (and told Apple) that netaapl64.inf is either missing or in the wrong format in the iTunes 64-bit installation. It is one of the files needed for AMDS installation and when the iTunes Install fails to open it, the AMDS installation part of the iTunes 64-bit install is backed out.
Apple Support will be reviewing all the info that I've provided early this week. They've been kind of busy with the iPad
I'll post an update (hopefully, a solution) as soon as I have that.

Can BI 4.0 be installed on Windows enterprise instead of Windows server?

Can I install BI 4.0 FP3 on my laptop which runs Windows 7 enterprise instead of on a windows server? The prerequisite check gives only "yellow warning" fo rthe windows server version and shows as "optional". Does that mean it is OK to install on a non-server version windows?

Not recommended. Installing the BI Platform 4.0 Server product on your laptop would likely completely tank your laptop to the point where it is unusable. The BI Platform 4.0 product is a massive install and we recommend installing it on a server because you need a very powerful system for it to run correctly. Installing on a laptop would give you a very poor impression of the product.

Cannot re-install Illustrator on 64 bit Windows8

I am trying to re-install CS 5 on a 64 bit Windows 8 machine and all products except Illustrator install fine. I am getting a fatal error regarding 'conflicts in the selected payloads' and another error relating to 'required common fonts installation *64'. I have tried several times, completely removing all other installed Adobe products and also using the creative suite cleaning tool but it fails everytime.

Thanks Mylenium, but how do I know which fonts I have the problem with as they are not mentioned individually in the log file? Also, are you referring to the permissions on the folders: Program Files > Common Files > Adobe > Saved Fonts and Program Files (*86) > Common Files > Adobe > Fonts (and FontsRecommended)? Or are there others I should be checking, e.g. does the Windows > Fonts folder also require full Read/Write access?
Lastly, is it just the user I am running the install as that needs the full access or is it also the 'Windows Installer? Sorry, I don't know anything about security and thought that as long as my user profile was setup as Administrator I could do anything.
