Media Go - Library imported from iTunes won't refresh

Hi All,
I recnetly go a Z3 Compact and it is really good. I managed to impot my iTunes Library in to Media Go but I can't seem to find an option to refresh/sync the Media Go Library when I update iTunes. Anyone know if you can manually or automatically trigger a Media Go Library refresh.
Thanks in advance.

  • Song imported from iTunes won't play in GarageBand

I downloaded a song into iTunes and it plays fine. Then when I put it into garageband, it won't play any sound. The preview of the song on the side in garageband will play, but once it's put in as a track it won't play. I've tried restarting garageband and the whole computer and I'm fully updated. Any ideas on what's wrong?

well, the crashing problem persists. the flat line persists with no sound. ive let the song play for its entirety and replayed it. still no sound from the flat line. i think there is an inherent problem with the importation of these files. maybe an update patch or something might help. i dont know what the crashing is about, but its annoying. Anyone out there knows whats up?

  • Force Re-Creation Of iTunes Library.itl from iTunes Library.xml?

Can't figure out how to edit a post, so I'm putting this here instead of adding it to "Recovery From Hosed Music Locations - Without Losing Ratings?".
    iTunes v9.
It's dawning on me that I can edit "iTunes Library.xml" and fix my hundreds (if not thousands) of broken links there.
But iTunes seems to work out of "iTunes Library.itl".
Seems like there had to be a way to get iTunes to re-create "iTunes Library.itl" from "iTunes Library.xml".
    ?

Damage the ITL first. That method has worked for several folks. Example:

  • My songs from iTunes won't download, I went to the downloads tap and all seven of my new songs say "download error, tap to retry" and when I tap on one a message pops up saying " this song could not be downloaded at this time". What do I do?

My songs from iTunes won't download. I recently just purchased 7 songs and they took my money but now the songs won't download to my phone. I have gone to the download screen on the iTunes app and under each song it says "download error. Tap to retry". When I tap to retry a song a message pops up saying "this song could not be downloaded at this time." And it gives me two options. Either done or retry. I have tried to download them many times. I signed out and signed back in on iTunes, restarted my phone, and even checked for any updates. Nothing seems to be working. They charged the money from my card but now my songs won't download. What do I do?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:

  • When i try to import from itunes into FCP 7 i get error, file error; 39 files recognized,0 access denied 243 unknown

When i try to import from itunes into FCP 7 i get error, file error; 39 files recognized,0 access denied 243 unknown

Be careful,  FCP is an open system which is great, but it allows you to work with formats that are not completely compatible with fcp and can cause serious problems down the road.  You can check the formats of all audio files brought into fcp by selecting them in the browser and hitting command-9,  Use compressor to convert all audio files to 48k 16 bit aiffs before importing to fcp.  There's a preset for this format in the apple presets.  You mention video files.  The same thing holds.  In particular, avoid bringing in h264 quicktime movies.  Convert to an fcp friendly format like prores using compressor.

  • How to import from ITunes in normal AAC file? (not protected)

How do I import from Itunes in a normal AAC file? (ideally in 320kbps) but most important, not a protected file!
Alternatively, how do I convert from protected aac to normal aac?
    Tks for you help.

    Hi,
How do I import from Itunes in a normal AAC file?
Go to iTunes Preferences, and choose- Advanced/Importing and under "Import Using" choose AAC, under "Setting" choose 320kbps. Copy protection is only added to songs downloaded from the iTunes Store, and not songs you import from cd's.
how do I convert from protected aac to normal aac?
The only legitimate way is to burn the songs to a cd, and then re- import them using the settings discussed above.

  • How to import FROM iTunes

I downloaded a movie and want to import it out of iTunes to my videos folder on my laptop to watch because I don't want to have Internet on just to watch a movie. That's ridiculous. The only Internet I have is my iPhones hotspot which doesn't work downstairs (signal is crap in the house). So is there ANY way I can get this move out of iTunes so I watch it without Internet access?
I can't believe I'm here asking this because nothing should be this stupidly complicated...

  • I can burn CDs from Windows Media Player, but not from itunes.  I always get Error 2131.  How do I transfer music files from itunes to Window Media Player Library?...or convince itunes to burn a CD?

    Cannot burn CD from itunes.

The thing is, they are in the unprotected format? (
They are protected WMA from when you RIP'd them with WMP. iTunes will not read them.
Go to WMP Tools -> Rip Music.
Under Rip settings, it is set to *Windows Media Audio* and most likely *Copy protect music* is ticked. This is how it is protected.
You will need to reRIP them all from CD.

  • Garageband Crashes when importing from iTunes

Garageband 08 - up to date
ITunes - 8.1.1 (10 - up to date - library is held on an Airport Disk
    White MacBook 80GB
    Tiger
New problem just started occurring in Garageband. When you try to import a track from iTunes (via the media library screen in garageband, ie drag and drop), Garageband just quits back to the desktop. (Asks if you want to reopen, try again etc, but no effect).
All other functions of Garageband appear to work fine - including exporting TO ITunes, and also importing photos through media library or garageband samples.
Have tried repairing file permissions in disk utilities, and deleting the GB preferences file (as advised in Apple Shop) but no effect.
This worked fine until a few days ago, and had been done hundreds of times with no problems.
    Any ideas?

Just to say that I'm having the same problem. The iTunes version (8.1.1) came in more recently than the last update on GB. I'm trying to think if there have been any general OS X updates recently, but I'm not sure.
The workaround is fine, but if anyone hears about a patch so that it works normally, I'd be happy to know.

  • Downloaded from iTunes, won't play in iDVD

I have some mpeg4 files that I downloaded from the iTunes Library online. I am attempting to use them in an iDVD project, but some of them will not play. Some others will play. The ones that won't play in iDVD will still play in iTunes.
The files that don't work seem to have a little padlock in the upper left corner that I cannot get rid of.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Curt,
The tracks that won't play in iDVD, were those tracks that you imported from a CD? Or did you purchase and download directly from iTunes?
If you can’t play a song purchased from the iTunes Store, you may have exceeded the number of computers on which you can play your purchases.
Unless the song is an iTunes Plus version, you can play an iTunes Store purchase on up to five authorized computers. After you authorize five computers (by playing purchases on those computers), you can’t play the songs on a sixth computer until you deauthorize one of the five authorized computers. (For instructions on deauthorizing a computer, click the first link below.)
If the song is available as an iTunes Plus download, you may ugrade the song at the iTunes Store.
If you're listening to a shared library or playlist, iTunes skips iTunes Store purchases if your computer hasn't been authorized to play them. To listen to a purchased song in a shared library or playlist, double-click the song. If your computer isn't authorized to play songs purchased by the person who is sharing the song, you'll need to enter that person's Apple or AOL account ID and password to hear the song.
You might be trying to play an AAC file that was not created using iTunes or downloaded from the iTunes Store. Songs you download from the iTunes Store or import into your library using the AAC encoder are encoded using the new MPEG-4 AAC format, and play in iTunes and on your iPod. Other AAC files that you find on the Internet or elsewhere won't play in iTunes.
If you’re trying to play a song on a CD that you burned using iTunes, make sure the equipment on which you're trying to play the CD is appropriate for the disc's format. For example, if you burned a CD-RW disc, you can play it only on your computer and some newer CD players. If you burned an MP3 disc, it should work in your computer and on special MP3 CD players, but not on standard consumer audio CD players. You can't play DVDs burned using iTunes on most consumer DVD players.

  • Importing from iTunes

Hello, I think have a unique problem... My PC harddrive recently crashed permanently and I've since upgraded to a Macbook Pro. I had all my music stored on my iPod and used Music Rescue to get it off the iPod and on to my new computer... worked great... but when I try and import the music into GarageBand it won't allow me to??? From the sound of it from other users, the files could have been protected somehow during the transfers??? As the music that I have since added to my iTunes library can all be accessed easily by GarageBand. Is there anyway to fix this problem or am I SOL?
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance

So I tried that and it didn't work, then I tried dragging it directly from iTunes into GB and here it recognized that I could add it to the timeline (little green plus sign), but when I dropped it in it would get about 2 seconds into the importing phase and then stop... So same result and it still won't import. Any more suggestions? Again it is only with songs that I "rescued" from my iPod, not songs I've recently added.
    Thanks again!

  • Why can't I get my songs from the computer in our media player library, (ripped from a c.d., ) to sync to the iPod?

Why can't I transfer my music on my computer, media player library, onto the iPod touch? it won't let me sync the songs.??

One thing to consider is this ...what are the files formatted in ? If you ripped your CD's via Windows Media Player default settings , they're in 128k Windows Media Audio files . These files must be converted by iTunes before being allowed into the library .

  • Popping sounds in FCP when importing from itunes

I'm trying to use a piece of music dwonloaded from itunes. listening ot the piece on itunes there are no "pops" or crackle sounds. Once imported to FCP and incerted inot my track it has annoying pops, suttle but they are there. How can I fix this?

Music purchased through iTunes won't work in FCP. Because of rights issues.  You need to get the rights to use the music in certain projects.  While your project might not be for broadcast, or displaying on the web, Apple assumes it is.
You cannot just use any old music you want in projects you put up on the web and on TV. You need to get the rights to it.  YouTube will even pull your video down if it finds popular music and detects rights issues. If this is a family video not aimed at the web, well...that's different.  But still Apple prevents working imports due to the fact that FCP is PROFESSIONAL software, and most uses for it is for broadcast and web.

  • Best way to import from iTunes & audio lock to video?

I just started with PrE 10 and am coming from years with iMovie HD6 (never liked the later versions). Can audio tracks be dragged from iTunes (by having 2 minimal sized windows of each application open) into the Project area? Or do you need to try and find each song by going through the whole Get Media  File/Folder link process? I've tried dragging a few songs from iTunes, and it didn't seem to work (it was very easy in iMovie). I was able to add photos to the Project area from iPhoto by dragging them over from the iPhoto window.
Also, is there a way to lock (or link) the beginning of an added audio/soundtrack clip to a video clip, so that it does not inadvertently get moved, or so that if you move the video clip, or delete an earlier video clip, the locked audio goes with that video clip?
[Moved to the Premiere Elements main forum]

With Audio, you need to Import the file (Get Media), as Premiere needs to Conform the Audio, creating both a CFA (Conformed Audio) file, and a PEK (Waveform Display) file, and link to those.
Now, with iTunes, there can be some problems, though things have gotten a bit better recently. If you DO have an issue, you can create a Playlist in iTunes, and copy over all the files that you need for your Project, then burn a CD of that Playlist. The Audio-CD will be in the CDA container in as a WAV file, which should Import just fine, into PrE.
Actually, it might be easier, even if the iTunes music does Import, to create a Playlist in iTunes, where you can drag and drop right from the iTunes GUI, and then Import from that Playlist.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Apps from Itunes won't sync with Itouch

Can someone help on this? My apps to itouch where working fine until I uploaded f W7 OS from Vista. Now the new apps show as grey on the itouch (not bold)and won't sync. If I check the SYNC APPS a warning states all existing apps in the Itouch will be wiped out. What am i missing? Thanks

I took advantage of my one free call to apple support and resolved the problem. If you are having the same problem as above - try the following - turn on Itunes and connect your device.Open file- click "transfer purchases from Itunes"follow the instructionsu - All your apps will now be stored in the library (only the ones you purchased free or paid for, from Itunes)Go to your device open the apps section - they should all show in the left hand side under SYNC APPS in bold. Hope that helps others.
