Memory Upgrade on Equium A60

Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my memory on an Equium A60-155 C 335 by adding a 512mb component.
I know part: PA3312U-1m51 is compatable but does anyone know if Part: PA3312U-2m51 is also OK ?
Thanks.

Hi
I think that this memory module will work.
I have investigated a little bit in the internet and it seems that the PA3312U-2M51 module is a following memory module.

I have an Equium EA60-155 Notebook and the problem is it running very, very slow.
I would like to upgrade the memory. This laptop has only 1 slot and 256 non-removeable memory installed. My question is: what type of memory should I buy (can it be 512mb)

    Hi
According to this page you can use also this memory module:
    200-Pin PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR SODIMM

  • Memory expansion on Equium A60

Hi there Im very new to any kind of upgrade so excuse the daft question Im about to ask.
My Equium A60s running a tad slow so Im looking to get some more memory. If I buy new memory, say 512MB, would my laptop use this 512MB addition to the 256mb you cant remove or does it replace it?
ie would I have 768MB of memory or 512?
Also is there anything I need to be wary of when looking for memory, would something of this description work?
    "512MB DDR SODIMM PC2100 266mhz 200pin Memory Module"
    Thanks

    Hello
I have found info that your unit has 256 MB internal memory. One additional slot is available and there you can use max 1GB module because your unit can handle with 1280MB max.
Compatible modules for your unit are:
    PC2700 256MB (PA3311U-1M25)
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G)
Check please part number and it will be easy to find them on the net.

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite A60-218

    Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade the memory for the Satellite A60-218 models?
I've heard that the memory is onboard (internal) and cannot be replaced. Is this true?
If not, could somebody give me a hint where can I find the memory modules on this model?
I have tried disassembling it without success.
    Thanks!
    Levente

    Hello
Just for info: Satellite A60 has 512 MB internal memory and one sot only is available for upgrade. This unit can handle with max 1,5 GB of RAM. On the bottom side in the middle there is placed memory module cover. Remove it and you will find RAM slot.
For RAM upgrade you can use follow compatible memory modules:
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G)
If you have more questions please write again.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Memory upgrade on Equium L20

I recieved an Equium L20 as a gift last year. Pretty much a month after getting it going, it has been very, very sluggish. It turns out it was sold to me with only 256Meg RAM - not even enough for XP to perform!!
I'm based out in the states now, and have been sent THREE different upgrades by a 'reputable on line memorystore' none of which have fit correctly..
The L20 forum claims that I need:
    PC 4200 DDR2 - 533 SO DIMM
Is that correct?! I'm pretty sure the existing memory reads PC2700..
The problem seems to be that although the memory card lines up OK, the lateral grooves on each side that hold it in place do not line up with the arms in the memory slot.
    Can anyone help? Please!!
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hello
According the specification you can upgrade RAM with max 2GB. One slot is empty and there you can put additional RAM module. Maybe the better solution is to put module with more capacity in slot A and 256 MB RAM into slot B. Compatible modules are:
    DDR2-400/533 256MB (PA3389U-1M25)
    DDR2-400/533 512MB (PA3412U-1M51)

  • Grapics upgrade for Equium A60

    hello to all!
I'm new to this so please don't laugh to much if my question is a daft one! I have an A60-155 equium laptop with 64mb graphics built in, is it possible to upgrade to 128mb or higher at all? I've had different answers from different people so wanted to find out once and for all & this seems to be the place to do it. Thankyou for your help in advance. Craig

    Hi Craig,
As you probably realise, your graphics card shares its RAM with your CPU. This is controlled by a setting in your BIOS (entitled 'UMA' if I remeber correctly).
Go into you BIOS settings a look for this setting. If it is selectable (it is in my Phoenix BIOS on my A30), then you should see a pop window showing a range of settings usually 32Mb, 64Mb(default) and 128Mb.
Obviously if you set ity to 128Mb this will reduce the available remaining RAM since it is shared.

  • Memory upgrade on Equium M70

I currently have 512KB of memory in my laptop, i want to increase this to 1GB.
Do i have to install another 512KB or replace this with 1GB.
Also do you have any information on where to purchase additional memory.

    Hi
As Ivan already said, you can use the 512MB module if you want to upgrade the memory to 1024MB. The notebook should handle the max 2048MB memory.
So possibly you will upgrade the memory in the future to the higher value. In such case I would recommend buying the 1024 module immediately.
    However, its your choice
The modules you can purchase from every notebook or computer dealer but I would recommend searching in the net for the best offer.

  • Memory Upgrade on Satellite Pro A60

I have upgraded an A60 Pro with a 1GB memory up but the Control Panel /System/ General tab still shows it as having 192MB RAM. This limits me downloading some Security Software from BT Yahoo.
Can anyone advise on how I can make the machine recognise the new RAM or is the 192 MB RAM noted different memory from the new memory upgrade?

If you use non-compatible RAM module it is logic that system can not recognize it correctly. I do not know who is the manufacturer of this 1 GB RAM module but if you want to use compatible one pick up some info about PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G) or check Kingston web page.

  • Equium A60 with faulty built in memory

    Hi
I have tried recovering my Equium A60 with the recovery DVD and it will not boot windows. I tried to install a number of different versions of windows and the error messages lead me to the conclusion that the memory module is faulty. The system came with 256MB of memory and this is non removable as it is part of the motherboard. My question is if I buy a memory module and install it in the expansion slot will it be prevented from working by the faulty built-in memory?
    Message was edited by: binkey1st

    Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately there is no way to isolate the faulty RAM on your motherboard. Even if you install a second RAM module the system will still try to use the faulty built in module as well.
You will need to take you notebook to an ASP for the faulty module to be replaced.

  • Equium A60: Blue Screen issue

I've got a Equium A60 Series (PSA667E), reconditioned. There's a blue screen apearing sometimes, when I start up, sending me a message of error. I've tried to upgrade my BIOS, as the website indicated. But a message tell me that I dont need, because its already upgraded. So, I've got the correct BIOS but my blue screen problem persist. What can I do....

    Hi
Sometimes the blue screen appears because of serious software error or a hardware malfunction (memory). Well, its not easy to say why this message occurs in you case because we dont have detailed informations. Usually the OS installation solves commonly the blue screen errors. But if there is a hardware fault so only a ASP could solve this issue.

  • Need some info about Equium A60

    Hi,
I am looking to upgrade RAM on my laptop which is a Equium A60 (PSA67E-001004NO). I need to know what speed my motherboard supports... I posted a question some time back and got the impression that my laptop can take 533mhz but I enquired other places and got the idea that my laptop supports 333mhz. I need to know the correct value my motherboard supports. Whether its 333mhz or up over..
One thing more I need to know is there any way one can check for the configuration that laptop has, because there is nothing about this Equium on the net or Toshiba site...
I remember to see a page on which all hardware and preinstalled software details of Equium A60 PSA67E-001004NO were on the net but I fail to remember where I saw it..
Can someone help in any way?

    Hi
Your notebook has 256MB internal memory and just one slot is available for memory expansion. I have found info that your unit can handle with 1280MB max.
    The compatible memory modules are:
    PC2700 256MB (PA3311U-1M25)
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G)
If you want check part numbers on Google and you will find out all info about those modules. I have no time now to check it for you.

  • Equium A60-157 Wireless Network Card/PCMCIA HELP!

    Hi, all!
This problem has been frustrating me for at least 2 months.
Ok, I recently purchased a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card (wifi card).
The first time I installed the wifi card it was working perfectly. I powered
off the laptop (after I had finished working on it). The following day
when I powered on the laptop, you guessed it, the wifi card was not
working. I did not remove the wifi card during the power off/on phase.
When I went into the device manager, a yellow exclamation mark was
above the wifi card. When I examined the wifi cards properties, I found the
    following message:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the wifi card. I have tried using the latest Belkin drivers for the wifi card. Sometimes it works, but when I power off/on the laptop its a no go.
One way I have gotten the card to work was by removing and inserting the card several times
until it found resources and finally worked. I dont use this method anymore as, quite obviously, I risk causing damage to the cardbus slot and the card. In the meantime Ive been using a Belkin Wireless G USB network adaptor. I have not had any problems with the USB adaptor, but I would prefer to use the wifi card. This is because the majority of the wifi card is housed inside the laptop, so its not easily dislodged. The USB adaptor is fine for wireless networking indoors, but too much of a risk for roaming outdoors.
I have had this problem from bios revision 1.70 to 1.8C, and I still have it with revision 1.90. Im planning to take the wifi card back to the shop for an exchange, but I have a very bad feeling that the same thing is going to happen with the replacement card. Im not convinced that the current wifi card is defective, because it works perfectly when it gets resources.
I have tried to manually configure the resources on the devices, but I run into one major problem. Windows seems to be LOCKED into automatic settings. The automatic settings checkbox is completely greyed out, making it impossible for me to clear the check box. I have not seen anything in the bios that can help me resolve this problem.
I have noticed that there are a lot of devices running off IRQ (Interrupt Request) 19, when viewing the resources by type in the device manager. These devices are:
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller x 2 (two entries)
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
    Texas Instrumetns PCI-1410 CardBus Controller
When the wifi card is working it also runs off IRQ 19, but as I stated before Windows is locked into automatic settings and will not let me configure the hardware resources manually.
The Equium A60-157 does not come with onboard, but it has the potential to. Wifi l.e.d. on front panel, location for physical wifi switch on side panel and wifi icon on F8. Does anyone know if Toshiba offer an upgrade service, or can I install onboard wifi myself?
ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE ISSUES!!!
    Thanks for you time!

    Hi
    I found this for you:
Two devices have been assigned the same input/output (I/O) ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of the two). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a universal serial bus (USB) controller does not get an interrupt from the BIOS because of a corrupt Multiprocessor System (MPS) table).
You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and disable the conflicting device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.
Try to disable the conflict devices. It will be interesting to know if the problem will occur again.
In my opinion you should contact Service partner and ask them if the unit is prepared for Wi-Fi module. Sorry but I am not sure about that and I dont want to give you a wrong information about that.

  • MS 7309 Memory Upgrade

I have a question regarding a memory upgrade for the MS 7309 (K9)motherboard;  A60 BIOS, Upgraded to 800Mhz DDR2 memory from 5400, with WinXp OS.   I am experiencing system stability problems with both 2 Gb sticks installed,  the system is stable on one stick, total upgrade 4GB.  There was initially only 2Gb, 5400 installed.
Should I overclock my system or update the BIOS?  And if I need to overclock is there a process or utility to use to do this.  The currently installed overclocking center utility does not work, is there an updated one?

To figure out what bios version you have, >>use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<. After starting the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher it will automatically detect your board's current bios and save the details in a file on your desktop called MSIHQ_INFO.txt. There you can read up the exact bios version. You can quote this details here to make it easier for others to help you[/b]

  • Display driver error on my Equium A60-155

I have an Equium A60 - 155. I have been having consistent problems where I get a message saying that my the ati display driver has stopped working. I have downloaded the driver again and still no change. I have seen the blue screen of death several times but don't see it for long enough to read everything it says but it does mention the ati driver again.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what to do!
    It's driving me crazy!

Blue screen of death usually indicates two things: corrupted or badly written drives or faulty hardware such as memory.
Firstly I would start by testing your System RAM for this I would recommend a program called memtest86 - http://www.memtest86.com/
If your RAM has passed then the problem maybe driver or hardware related. Unfortunately resolving BSOD problem can be a real pain so it might be worth considering using the product recovery DVD just make sure you backup all your personal files because this procedure will destroy all data.
