GRACIAS!!!

1. On a personal BIS plan, you can't wireless sync contacts, calendar, memos and tasks.
2. BES costs varies from carrier to carrier,  $30 - 45 US. You will need a hosted exchange server, check out something like exchangemymail.com
3. Are you really using BlackBerry Redirector? Those strange messages come from setting up your Desktop manager with the Redirector option when you aren't using Redirector.
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

  • This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server.........

    Hi everyone,
I am having issues with a couple of BlackBerry's, where they are receiving a message on their phone saying:
"This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."
    Email is from "[email protected]"
This has only appeared since installing the BlackBerry Desktop Software version 6.
We have used the link below which resolved the issue on one of the BlackBerry's but on the other neither of the options are there.
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04254&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
The link I have just posted references to version 5, just wondered if anyone knows how to resolve it in version 6 or some other option. Original email is still received fine but want to stop the other email about "This message is used to carry data between.......".
    Thanks in Advance.
    Kevin

An alternative, if you cannot stop it via the two recommended fixes, is to send those messages to your jiunk folder at the email server level so that they never reach your BlackBerry...

  • This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

I have a client with a BlackBerry Pearl 8110. It was (is) configured to receive email from a Microsoft Exchange Server via his Outlook account.  I have uninstalled the Desktop Manager and re-installed ensuring the computer transmits his email via the Re-Director. All settings in the Desktop Manager are correct. The phone was working fine for over 5 years. Now he is getting emails both on his phone and in Outlook saying:
This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.
I have verified that his phone is not attempting to perform the Enterprise Activation process by checking :
Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation.
He does however have a Service Book entitled "CMIME"
How can I resolve this issue?

Is the user needing the Redirector service?
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector or Enterprise, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

  • Several emails per day - from blackberry communicating with server?? Need to remove emails.

    Afternoon,
Each day my outlook email recieves about 6 - 9 emails; of the below information, with an attached 'DAT File' that needs to be opened by selecting a program.
Information in the main body of the email
'this message is used to carry data between Blackberry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.'
These emails are becoming annoying as I have lots of important work emails to deal with.
Does anyone know how to stop these emails without effecting how the blackberry works with the pc?
    Assistance would be appreciated.

  • Curve 9300 continuous server acknowledgement

Hi, I have just managed to get my emails downloading onto my phone. I received an acknowledgement from the Blackbery server that this is now operational and to not delete the message. My problem is that for the last 2 days I am getting this message every 30 minutes. It is so annoying. How can I stop this from continueing???  The origin is from: [email protected] and reads:
This message is used to carry data between the Blackberry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - ti will be processed by the server.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
There are multiple possible causes and solutions to that...please go here:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
and search on "etp"...read through the resulting KB's to see which apply to you.
Most often, this has to do with an incorrect installation of the RIM desktop software. If it was installed with the "Desktop Redirector" option turned on yet the installation is not of the strict conditions where that is appropriate, the behavior you describe would result. The remedy is to uninstall the Desktop Software and re-install it, but to make sure that the Desktop Redirector option is turned off.
    Good luck!

    Alan,

  • Mail selecting incorrect SMTP server

I saw a post on this but I have a more specific problem, hopefully someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Here's my situation. I use my MacBook Pro at work, and I have to operate sometimes inside a firewall and sometimes out on the Internet. As a result, I have to maintain two different Account setups in Mail for the same actual email account. One setup (call it 'Mail') goes directly to the server address, uses normal SSL transport, and uses that internet SMTP server with SSL authentication. All works fine. However, when I'm inside the firewall, I have to use an SSH tunnelling setup to get to IMAP servers outside, so I use SSHAgent and tunnel my local ports to the server outside. That, also, works after much fiddling.
So I end up having two different 'accounts' in Mail - one to 'Mail' and one to 'Mail Tunnel.' At any given time, one or the other works, and the other is 'offline.' Here comes the problem.
I have specified in each of them that they have to use specific SMTP servers - the direct connection for 'Mail' and the localhost:port for 'Mail Tunnel.' The problem is that whenever I compose and send a message while inside, Mail.app always tries to send it to the 'Mail' SMTP server - the one with the direct address. Even if I'm sitting in the 'Mail Tunnel' inbox when I hit 'compose' - no joy. It always tries the 'external' mail server.
The only way I can send mail while inside is to go into preferences, go to the 'Mail' setup (not Mail Tunnel) and set it to use the localhost:port SMTP server and select 'Use Only This Server.' Then things work, until of course I leave the firewalled zone and have to go back and change preferences.
So what appears to be happening is that Mail isn't differentiating my outbound mail server based on the account I'm using. I'm wondering if that's because my 'REply-To' address and username are the same on both accounts, so somehow the SMTP server selection doesn't get done? I know there's a preference in the 'Composing' section to set where to send mail from...however, the only options there are '<my email address>@<my domain>' or 'Account of Last Viewed Mailbox.' I have it set to the latter. It doesn't say anything about what server to use, and the face that it's keying on my email address (which is the same for both accounts) leads me to believe that's what's going wrong - since the email address is the same in both cases, Mail.app doesn't think it has to select the outbound server. In other words, it's indexing on my Reply-To address, not on the 'Account profile.'
Am I crazy? Is there a way to make this work? Thanks.

And, if you select Mail's Accounts preferences in the Accounts Information tab, then select the Edit servers option from the drop down menu for Outgoing server, is each server associated only with it's respective account? And when observing the Outgoing server drop down menu does the name of the associated server change when you select each account from the sidebar?
If none of this is working still, then you may want to remove the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file to the Desktop. Then reconfigure Mail's preferences to see if that resolves the problem. As it is I cannot replicate what you've described on my system, so it could be a corrupted preference file on yours. You can test this by creating a new user account and logging into that account. Set up new Mail configurations for the new account to see if they function as expected.

  • WLC4402 and Symbol MC3090 Handhelds

    Weird issue:
I have some handhelds using certificates to connect to the internet in my office.
The handhelds can connect in all the complex but inside a warehouse, all the config for the APs is the same, we use 1242s and 1131s (yes inside the warehouse we have both models) and the ports where we have the APs connected were configured as trunk, at the time we set them up as access for the wireless vlan (in this case vlan 7).....
A little detail, if I take a laptop and try to connect inside the warehouse, I can with no problem at all but the handhelds cannot connect.
On the WLC4400 I can see all the handhelds associated to the wireless network but under the Policy Manager State I get "8021X_REQD" for all those handhelds inside the warehouse.
    Any clues?
    Posted by WebUser Eridanny Aviña

I would highly suggest the debugs that the other members have requested.  The proof will be in the pudding at that point and any "changes" are a shot in the dark without it.
Another thing to consider since you mention these devices work fine inside the office, but not in the warehouse is AP placement and antenna orientation.  It is fairly often that APs are deployed with poor RF consideration for large warehouses.  Can you describe the mounting location of these APs?  You mention you are using 1131 and 1242s so please describe each.
Are the APs mounted to a high ceiling?  Are there large racks or obstructions that can lead to attenuation or unwanted multipath, etc?  How high are the APs mounted?  For the 1242's, what type of antenna and what orientation are these antennas (ie, for instance with a dipole; are the antennas pointed downards/perpindicular to the ground, or a re they horizontal/parallel to the ground?)
What power level do you see your APs in the warehouse transmitting at?  How does this compare to inside?
Also; you mention your APs are configured for a trunk?  Unless you are performing H-REAP local switching, which it doesn't sound like as the APs are local to the WLC at this campus, then you should keep your AP on an access port.  The AP will just need to be able to get back to the WLC on this single VLAN with it's client CAPWAP data.  Clients will egress the WLC on their respective VLANs through your dynamic interfaces; they do not require a trunk port at the AP itself.  This should not have any affect on your problem; but I would suggest keeping the AP config clean and simple.

  • IPhone user getting BB network sync messages - wants them to stop

Hello everyone.  Just signed up here, happy user of Blackberry Tour 9630 with Bell Mobility in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for nearly two years.
HOWEVER, my current need for assistance has absolutely NOTHING to do with my Blackberry model, my carrier, or my OS version.
For the past 6 years, I have been providing Email gateway services with spam and malware filtering to several small corporate clients.  At the end of March 2011, one user (also a high-level company admin at one of my client domains) has begun receiving messages from a range of network addresses, as follows:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
All those messages have a subject similar to this:
    RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2
The message body begins with "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."
The problem is that this person is using an iPhone, not a BB, and he is receiving these messages both on his iPhone and on his Windows desktop (in Office Outlook).
He also tells me he never had a Blackberry, and that he DID NOT ask for these messages to be sent to him.  For sure, he might very well have ACTUALLY done something that caused this, but he cannot recall what it was.  One of his employees lost her Blackberry just before going on maternity leave for a year, starting in March, and he did mention doing something (vaguely remembered) related to that loss (and replacement).
Be that as it may.  The fact is that he does not have a Blackberry, but an iPhone (and apparently NEVER had a Blackberry).  Under those circumstances, is there some way to register a request that these messages no longer be sent, by either Emailing or phoning someone at RIM (or any other way)?  So far, I am sending hundreds of these messages per week to the spam quarantine, from which they have to be purged periodically.
By the way, I just signed up to Twitter earlier today (something which I was in no hurry to do), just so I could attempt to obtain help from the  "BlackBerryHelp" Twitter channel.  Well, I posted the following tweet 2 hours ago, and so far I have received no response:
"@BlackBerryHelp iPhone user getting msgs from "[email protected]", wants them filtered. How do we stop them at source?"
So much for "Official Twitter support account of Research In Motion. We’re staffed from 9-8 EST Monday -Friday and 9-6 Saturday. ".  What kind of response time should I be expecting?  Am I too impatient?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this problem and its solution...

Normally that message comes about from having installed the Blackberry Desktop Software on the PC in an incorrect manner, which the link below will show how to correct it. I am guessing someone (might not have been this user, could have been his secretary or another employee who does have a BlackBerry) installed the BlackBerry Desktop Software on his PC with the "redirector" option checked, which is most normally the origin. See below.
Article ID: KB04254 Network@etp email messages are received on the BlackBerry smartphone and email application
Article ID: KB21849 Network@etp messages are received in the email application and on the BlackBerry smartphone
As far as the twitter help accout, yea, I'm thinking two hours response time might be a bit high in expectations. But doesn't matter, the above links should solve the issue.
And, aside from collecting the messages in a spam folder, you could just blacklist them on the users' email server, and they won't even reach the server.
