Merge jpeg into pdf problems

I bought a new Nikon S9700 Coolpix and took 150 jpegs about 500kb each of istoric documents. Tried to merge them to a pdf for transcription with my Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and it "stops working" when it tries to open the first image file. I tested older jpegs from other sources with no problems. Have been doing this for a few years with no issues.
Is there some new jpeg standard that version 9 can't handle?

  • Merging data into PDF

    Hi,
    I am trying to merge data into PDF using FDF toolkit and seem to be having trouble viewing the document in IE 6.0. I tried setting the content type on the response to 'application/vnd.fdf'
    Would appreciate if i can get some input on this.
    Thanks.

    There is a good library to create pdf from a java program or a servlet in this page:
    http://www.lowagie.com/iText/download.html
    It's easy to use and there are different examples. It also allow you create the pdf document on-line in the client.
    If you need some help me I have used it and I can send you an example if you need.

  • How to stop Preview from changing resolution when converting JPEGs into PDF

    I am combining several JPEGs of identical resolution into a PDF using Preview, using either the sidebar or Automator action (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11893607). For some reason, Preview changes the resolution of the PDF so viewing it at actual size (100% zoom) is bigger and pixellated. Example: a 960x600 JPEG becomes approx 1355x845. I figured it had something to do with dpi and indeed if I do the calculation and open up each JPEG in Photoshop and resize (without resampling, i.e. without changing pixels) to 101.5, the resulting PDF is pretty close to what it should be. (Calculation = 1355/960 * 72dpi.) But the slight resize and recompression lowers quality, plus it's a huge pain to go through all of that for every image.
    This issue is the same for simple saving a single image, the combining and use of Automator script has no impact.
    My question, in summary: how do I get Preview to save a JPEG as a PDF without changing its resolution?

    I have the same problem. I have a bunch of scanned documents (jpeg), and have been trying to make them a multi page document, instead of 20+ images.
    Using the Automator "New PDF from Images" preview action v1.0, supplied by Apple with Snow Leopard, and I am able to convert the images to a PDF.
    Using these images, the first page being 1032 x 1600 pixels, and telling the automator action to +size each page to fit image+, I convert them into a PDF.
    Converted PDF is viewable here.
    The original JPG is clearly higher resolution than the PDF, and the PDF loses the crispness of the original scan. Even using "+size each page to fit image+" does not make the page the original image size.
    What's happening here, and does anyone know a better way to convert Jpegs to PDF on the Mac - and keep the image resolution? I don't care about files sizes here, but keeping resolution and maintaining quality.

  • Need help transfering JPEG into PDF format

    I just want to know how do we transfer JPEG files into PDF

    Hello there,
    Thanks for posting. If you have JPEG files that you need to convert to PDF, there are two immediate online options available to you:
    1. Adobe CreatePDF: http://createpdf.acrobat.com
    2. Acrobat.com: http://www.acrobat.com
    Using either of these services, you can create a PDF file from your JPEG with just a few clicks. If you already have an Adobe ID, you can just sign in with your ID and password; if you've never used these services, you may have to create an Adobe ID (which is free, and takes only a few seconds). Here are some screenshots to help you get started once you've gone to one of the above sites:
    At Adobe CreatePDF (http://createpdf.acrobat.com):
    At Acrobat.com (http://www.acrobat.com):
    Please let me know if you need further assistance.
    Best,
    Rebecca

  • How to merge spreadsheets into PDFs form at the right locations.

    The spreadshhet is in .xlsx format.
    Ideally I'd like for the pdf to update from the data in Excel and when a change is made to the Excel data, the pdf would change also.  However, if we need to make it where I have to update the pdf by clicking an update key, that would work too.
    Here - https://www.dropbox.com/home/Trying%20to%20do%20it ; is a layout of what I trying to do.  I am only looking at D to E right now. If you want to see the original PDFs file and spreadsheet, please feel free to ask.
    Kindly help me it is very important for me.

    Try adding an 'open finder items' to the end of the workflow.
    You can then 'save as' to any location you require and check the pdf to make sure its all been got in step 1.
    I can't see another free way of doing this.
    The 'save result' part of this set of actions might do it:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/automatorworkflowadditions.html
    but is a demo, so will cost.

  • Embedding .mp3 with merged .jpeg - what is code for this?

    In iWeb '08 I like the feature of embedding an .mp3 soundfile with a merged .jpeg into a webpage. I like being able to drag the .mp3 file onto the webpage and inserting a .jpeg in the "Drag image here" box. That's nice!
    But I am finding that some PC users experience brief dropouts and glitches when they try to play some of my files.
    I have an example here of what I am referring to:
    http://www.heliotown.com/RadioSun/200811032245UTAshcraft.html
    (See the "Listen, turn up the volume" file midway down the page.)
    So I am wondering if there is some sort of .html or other web protocol code that I can use in a basic webpage maker like Netscape composer so I can embed a soundfile with merged .jpeg ?
    Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Thomas

    QuickTime Pro is the tool you need.
    You don't need "Stereo" (half as big in file size). You don't need an .mp3 file (MPEG-1 Layer 3 format) for your "noise" even though it is ten times smaller than CD quality.
    You can use iTunes (free) to "crunch" your sound captures into AAC encoded files as mono and lower the data rate to 64 bit (half, again, smaller than the standard 128 bit).
    Your audio (crunched and added to an image file via QuickTime Pro):
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/.Public/noise.mov
    One quarter the file size (audio) of your source.

  • Convert different types of files and merged them into one pdf

    Hi, everyone. I'm girl from China.
    There is folder containing severl files of different types, like doc, msg, jpeg etc.   And I want to convert and merge them into one pdf following a certain order. I know that PDFmaker can do that nicely, but the problem is that I have like 3000+ fodlders that requires the same work.
    I want to do it with VBA and Acrobat. I have a Acrobat XI Standard Version and a perfect license, by the way
    And I have got the code(Thanks, Karl Heinz Kremer) of merging two pdfs into one, but how can I convert them into pdf first?
    Thank you very much.
    If I can finish this, I would like to publish my code on this forum.

    Wow, that's great news. But how should I add the Action?
    1. There is no action named "Covert files into Pdf" in the tools panel....
    And if I write Javascript code to do this action. How should I write it?
    app.openDoc({
    cPath: "/c/temp/myPic.jpg",
    bUseConv: true
    These code only works when I specify the path of the file.
    If you know how, pls tell me..........

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Merge Files Into Single PDF

    Just wanted to know if there's a way on Acrobat 9 Pro,i can select a folder using Merge Files Into Single PDF and have it merge each of the subfolders in the folder into separate single PDFs and have then retain the names of their corresponding subfolders? At the moment i'm having to do one folder at a time and then name them.
    Any help would be great

    Hi Bill
    Thanks so very much - you have solved the problem.
    I tried Document > Insert Pages and that worked.
    I then ran the "Repair" feature on Adobe which installed a few updates and I am now also able to merge pdf's by using the "Combine" feature and all the pages show the text/info.
    Thanks again for your help, it is very much appreciated.
    Thank you also to Apoorv for your assistance.

  • Acrobat Pro 9: "Merge files into a single pdf" creates blank pages

    I have a similar problem as a previous post (which hasn't been answered).
    I am able to pdf individual Word documents fine, but when I try to Combine > Merge files into a single pdf, the resulting pdf pages are all blank. I don't receive any error messages or have problems saving the file.
    I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (9.5.1) on Windows 7.
    The merging of pdf's hasn't worked at all since I installed the program.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Distorted text when trying to merge files into single pdf

    I am trying to merge several pdf documents into a single pdf. The pages are all distorted with missing words and random characters appearing here and there. I have combined these pages successfully using 'Assemble files into a PDF package' so I know the files are okay. Trying 'Merge files into a single pdf' is what creates the problem. I have tried this on Acrobat 8.0 and also 10. It is the same in both cases.
    Help please!

    Hello again. I took the long weekend off, so haven't replied for a while.
    While trying to set up a few documents out of the package I wanted to create, I discovered that there
    is only one file that is causing the problem.
    The biggest problem is that it is a confidential financial file, and I'm loathe to put it up on the web.
    I'm going to try to re-create the file without the confidential part, then send it to this forum. I can't
    figure out why it should cause problems when all the others don't and they have all been created by
    the same person with the same version of Office.
    So thanks for your help so far. I really appreciate the quick response from a couple of you.  I will get back to you.

  • Problem converesion from jpeg to pdf

    Problem conversion from jpeg to pdf.
    I have scanned some images. So, the file is in jpeg I should make some changes in Paint or Photoshop program and I keep as jpeg. Then, when I converted and collected them into one pdf from Acrobat 8 and 9 too. Some pages had different sizes in the screen. How can make them have all the same size in screen and printed too of course. When I checked the individual pdf one is in for example 82% and other in 140%. I hope you can understand what I want to say.
    And I have some other that happens the same and I have not done any change in Paint or Photoshop.

    Thanks so much Graffiti for your instructions. It seems to be what you
    thought. Now, my problem is solved.
    See you, Esther

  • Need to convert 'My thoughts' app work into either .jpeg or .pdf

    Hi,
    I need to convert a piece of work, designed through 'My Thoughts' app into either a .jpeg or .pdf format in order to send to Staples to have it printed off - have clicked on save but these two options are not included ... any ideas?
    Thanks in Advance

    I don't have "My Thoughts" but you should be able to command-P and then at the bottom of the print screen you'll see PDF and you can just save as PDF from there.
    All of my printers (including Staples) require PDF documents these days.

  • Problem in converting into PDF

    HI,
    I need to convert data in PDF format but i am facing problem in it.
    i have used 2 methods,
    1. i used job_open,job_submit,job_close,BP_JOB_READ to submit job and CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to convert into pdf format. it is working fine in this case.
    2. But when i use SUBMIT program with USING SELECTION-SCREEN 'xxxx' WITH selcrit2 IN 'xxxx'.. and then spool which created i used in FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF , it is not converting even though same exporting and importing parameters are passed in this as in above.
    Please reply.
    Regards,
    neha

    Hi,
    First check whether the spool request is working fine or not by just execute any PO or sales order or any print view and from the menu give print there by you will get the spool number, make a note of the spool number.
    Go to SE38 and enter the program RSTXPDF4 and execute it will ask for the spool number give the spool number noted earlier and if PDF format is coming means you have some error while configureing the SP01.
    Hope my answer helps you.
    Cheers!!

  • Problem in converting smart form into PDF

    HI Experts,

    But i got a error when i am using that FM.
    Runtime Errors         CONVT_NO_NUMBER
    unable to interpret *292 as a no.
    Is that because my file size too large about 13 pages of PDF?
    and when i run it for other smart forms which have 2 or 3 pages of PDF, its working perfectly.
    can anyone tell what is problem with that FM?
    Thanks
    Shakun

    Hi,
    I had the similar issue and after analysis I have that this is the issue by not passing the IMPORTING parameter of the Function Module "BIN_FILESIZE". Please try to pass some variable to this paramter and then this will be completely rectified.
    DATA ; v_filesize     TYPE i.
    *--Convert OTF data to PDF data
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'
        EXPORTING
          format                = 'PDF'
          max_linewidth         = 132
        IMPORTING
          bin_filesize          = v_filesize
        TABLES
          otf                   = it_otfdata
          lines                 = it_pdfdata
        EXCEPTIONS
          err_max_linewidth     = 1
          err_format            = 2
          err_conv_not_possible = 3
          err_bad_otf           = 4
          OTHERS                = 5.
    Please verify whether this reolves the problem for you.
