Message: "send mmap timed out" from a SSO instalation's HTTP_Server

Hi to everyone,
first of all my apologize if i have written this in a wrong forum but i did not find any forum in particular to SSO.
When looking at the error logs from Apache in a SSO installation (10.1.2.0.2) i have found these entries:
[Thu May 10 18:00:10 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.2.6] send mmap timed out
[Thu May 10 18:00:23 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.2.6] send mmap timed out
[Thu May 10 18:00:36 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.2.6] send mmap timed out
[Thu May 10 18:00:43 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.2.6] send mmap timed out
[Thu May 10 18:00:49 2012] [warn] [client 192.168.2.6] send mmap timed out
Does someone knows what they mean ??
Is this a critical error ??
what should i do to fix the problem ??
Thanks for your kind help
Regards
Carlos

I think you are confusing things here.
While you can change the port used for submission from your mail clients to your mail server, you cannot (should not) change the outgoing port for your smtp server. All mail servers expect incoming traffic on port 25, thus using port 587 will not get your mail delivered (it will go through your firewall, but that's about it).
If your mail server (not client) is behind a firewall with port 25 blocked, there is no way it can send mail to outside domains. So either get your ISP to let port 25 through for your server or use your ISP's smpt server to send mail (this can be done directly, or through your mail server relaying through your ISPs server).

Hello, I’ve just installed Oracle Calendar Standalone 10.1.2. It’s working ok, but we get an annoying message every time we try to login, the message is: ”You have timed out from your previous session. Please sign in again.” When we try again it’s ok. So, our users have to put their user and password two times !
    Any ideas ?

Hi, the problem seems related to the domain part of the URL. When the user puts http://machine:port he get the message, but when he write http://machine.our-domain.es all seems to be ok

    Hello Naila1,
It sounds like you are unable to send emails, as they go straight to the outbox, but you can get the emails without issue. I recommend using the Connection Doctor to help you troubleshoot what is happening with the following article:

Whenever I try to buy songs on my phone it goes through my credit card authentication process. When I select done it gives a message saying session timed out. This has happened mulitiple times. What do I do?

    I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
    Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!
    Hope that helps

Check to see if you anti-virus software running, that will at times interfere with the connection with the Apple server.

We do not support ssl between plugins and weblogic yet. Currently if you send a https request, plugins will just downgrade them to http.

This sounds like a slow client to me. Specifically the client isn't sending enough data (something like 7 bytes) within the first 5 seconds for the server to determine which protocol the
client is using. I believe that future versions of the server squelch this message by default because logging errors caused by poorly behaving clients seems to cause a good deal of noise
in the logs, especially when running a public site.
the client timeout parameter can be increased, see:

  • Send Mail timed out

Ok, so I'm relatively new to OS x server but I consistantly am having a sendmail problem. I can receive mail and send mail "most" of the time. But, I do get errors when sending to blackberry's, hotmail, and essentially random domains. What I get are conection timed out error. Heres an example from my SMTP log :
Nov 9 19:36:56 (servername) postfix/smtp[21684]: connect to mail.senecac.on.ca[142.204.1.36]: Operation timed out (port 25)
First of all, anyone have any comments or solutions?
Second On my router I have doubled/triple checked that my port 25 is open. I can send send mail to some domains with no fail. When i send to my blackberry i get log data like this :
    Nov 9 19:31:02 Winterswarmth postfix/smtp[21627]: A566E3F45C: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=30, status=deferred (connect to mail.senecac.on.ca[142.204.1.36]: Operation timed out)
Nov 9 19:31:02 Winterswarmth postfix/smtp[21628]: connect to mx1.rog.mail.yahoo.com[67.28.113.16]: Operation timed out (port 25)
Nov 9 19:31:32 Winterswarmth postfix/smtp[21628]: connect to mx1.rog.mail.yahoo.com[64.156.215.23]: Operation timed out (port 25)
Nov 9 19:32:02 Winterswarmth postfix/smtp[21628]: connect to mx2.rog.mail.yahoo.com[66.94.225.172]: Operation timed out (port 25)

In the end it send, it just takes several attempts.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can't send text message--Send button "grayed out"

When texting about 70% of the time the send button is grayed out. I've checked to make sure the recipients phone # has the area code.
I have to retype the message several times and with no rhyme or reason that I can discern it's finally sendable. I've reset the phone
and sometimes that works. I called  the genious line and was told basically "it's a bug" --not a great answer. Same thing happened on my 3gs
    Any thoughts on the matter?

My iphone 4 does the same thing. I keep exiting text messages and then reopening and typing the first letter of my text to see if the send icon will whiten from the grey. Really a pain and waste of time. I thought I would look around here for a solution before making appt with the apple store.

  • 7.6 update leaves message "network connection timed out"

    Hi,
My latest update for 7.6 on iTunes does not allow me to access the Store or copy discs in with track listings or using gracenote. I get a message saying "iTunes could not coonect to the iTunes Store. The network timed out!" I am Windows XP/ SP2 and run Symantec Norton security. I have checked the firewall and iTunes is allowed access. I can access email, browsers and all as normal.
    Can anyone suggest anything else?
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem after updating 7.6. I've tried the following
-Itunes was allowed in my firewall. I turned it off and that didn't help so I turned it back on
    -reset my router and modem
-removed 7.6 and tried various older versions including one from 2005
    -tried suggestions in artcle
-Checked for problems with norton/symantec. I have symantec but no firewall through that program
    -Ran itunes diagnostics-they were fine.
It is very frustrating to not be able to purchase music, load new music from CD's without typing in everything, and upload my podcasts. I'm sure there is a problem that itunes needs to fix.
Please respond if you have other suggetions.

I was able to publish my site from Muse to Business Catalyst two days ago, but yesterday and today it is timing out when trying to connect to Business Catalyst.  What should I do?

    Hello,
Please sign out of Muse and Sign In again. Also Make sure Creative cloud application is up to date ( to check that sign out of creative cloud and sign in again if its not up to date you will be prompted to install the update)

  • Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes.  I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7.  i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message.  I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch.  All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.
