Messages doesn't see my contacts - sometimes

Strange issue.
I have upgraded to OS 10.8.2 from 10.7.4. I have set up an iCloud account on that computer and my other devices (iPad, iPhone).
Using Messages on the computer has been, well, interesting. When I open messages and try to open a new message, Messages does not see my contacts. I can enter a phone number or an email address and send and receive messages, but the program will not auto fill the contact from my address book. My iCloud account is using my address book (that's the only active account in Contacts).
Here's the interesting part: i have accounts set up on two more computers (my wife's and another one). Those accounts are linked to my iCloud account. When I try to send a message using those other devices, Messages sees the contact and fills it into the "to" field.
I am very confused. Why won't messages see my contacts on my main computer, but will on two other computers?

In order for you to solve this problem you have to follow these stept if your running windows:
1'st step is to go into the device manager
2 step is to go to portable devices (it is rught under network adapters)
3 step is to right clic apple iphone and click update drivers
4 step is to brows your drivers from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After that your itunes will pump up alown and youl see your iphone right there.

I had similar problem. Files that were not transferred had either no file-ending (.tif and .jpg-files without these endings are not synct) or a wrong ending (.pdf for example).
And the Apple-Hotline told me, a next iPod-software-update would allow a better sorting photos on the iPod. (Actually you can not use folders in folders, and all Photoes are sorted by date; a little help may be a count-number at the beginning of the file-name: 01.... 02.... 03... This helps, however it is not a good work for so many photos as you have.)

On 4s, Contact name not showing up in messages. I see the contacts phone number.

On my previous iPhones when using Messages, the contact name appeared at the top of the screen. Now I see their 1+xxx-xxx-xxxx (phone number). People who haven't updated their iPhone's yet now don't see my name in Messages, they see my 1+ phone number. What's up with that?

He says "Somehow there was two different catagories - "All Contacts" and "Contacts." All of my contacts were in "All Contacts," I dragged them over to "Contacts" and Messages picked them up." However, I don't understand where these two categories are.

Hello,
I use iMessage with my wife and messages don't be delivered sometimes. It says "sent" on my iPhone 6 but my wife doesn't see the message.
We are both in Wi-Fi and 3G networks but there may be network issues instant.
I send another messages then and they are delivered. The message that doesn't be delivered doesn't be delivered still.
We use iOS 8.2
Is there any solution for this tedious problem?

It sounds like your wife does not receive some iMessages that you send her from your iPhone 6.
Start with the steps in this article to troubleshoot this situation:
If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Since your wife is not receiving the messages, she may want to try these steps on her iPhone as well.

HT1386 After syncing with itunes(windows), messages for one of the contact(I have saved the contact name as 'Unknown') are lost. I can see only few messages which fits to the screen. I don't see option to load earlier messages.

On your Mac, for duplicates, switching Contacts off then back on in System Preferences > iCloud may prevent duplicates.
On the iPhone / iPad tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Contacts and Calendars are swtiched on.
Try restarting your Mac and your iOS devices when items won't sync as they should.
To restart an iOS device: Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

I don't see my contact's names on message anymore, why?

I've been using message for a while and it has always been working fine.
Once I messed up with my internet accounts and eventually I fixed it.
Now, even though message is sync with my iphone and I see incoming messages on both devices, I don't see my contact's name on my IMac.
On my Iphone continue to work just fine, but on the Imac I can't see their names...ggrrrrrr!!
Does anybody know what might have happened?

Please try each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
Step 1
You may need to synchronize contacts between the Mac and your other devices. One way to do that is via iCloud. On the Mac, open the iCloud preference pane and sign in if you haven't already done so. Check the box marked Contacts. Do the equivalent on your mobile device(s).
Make sure that your contact accounts are enabled in the Accounts tab of the Contacts preferences window.
Step 2
If you use a messaging service other than iMessage, then from the Messages menu bar, select
View ▹ Buddy Names ▹ Show Full Names (or Show Short Names)
Step 3
From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Language & Region
From the Region menu in the window, select one of the preset regions. If one is already selected, choose a different one, then change it back. Close the preference pane. Quit and relaunch Messages.
If you still have the problem after taking those steps, post your results.

Certain events in iPhoto will not sync to my iPad. No Error messages comes up and the photos themselves are ok. its like my ipad doesn't see them. Cause i can get some photos on there just not all.

What is the file name of the video(s) you want to sync?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Nokia Suite doesn't "see" Outlook 2010 contacts

I"ve recently installed on a new PC with windows 7 (32bit) MS Outlook 2010 and latest version of Nokia Suite. (3..2.100). I wanted to sync my contacts with my nokia phone (C2-01). However Nokia Suite doesn't "see" that I have MS Outlook installed. In the options to syncronize contacts it has only windows contacts.
Can anyone help how can I sync my contacts in MS Outlook with my nokia phone in this case?

I would like to add one thing more here.
You could first also check in Nokia Suite -> Tools -> Options -> Contacts ; See if Microsoft Outlook is selected there!
If yes, then
Diconnect/Connect you phone
Click Sync -> Repair Sync
Now Syn contacts again

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

My daughters imessage on her ipod touch has just stopped working - to get it going again I reset it with my email address but this doesn't allow her to send messages to any of her contacts. When I try and put her email back in it says it can't verify it

My daughters imessage & face time on her ipod touch has suddenly stopped working. The only way i could get it going again was to reset it up with my email address. This will not allow her to send messages to any of her contacts in her addess book. I have tried to set up her email (which she previously used successfully) but it will not allow this it states 'unable to verify email because it is already in use' - anyone any ideas its is driving me mad !!

Desktop Manager Doesn't See Any Address Book Contacts or Groups

Version 1.02 or 1.03 fo DM fails to see any contacts on my computer.
No errors.

I have two machines, a Mac Mini and a MB Pro, both running 10.6.3 and DM fails to see any contacts in my address book to sync.
I get no errors.

XP/Pro box doesn't see other computers on network after running CiscoConnect on it

Got a new E4200 on September 13 to provide internet and networking to a small business network.
There are 2 wired computers, one an XP/pro and the other a Win 7/64 bit. Both worked straight out of the box in that both had access to each others' files after plugging them into the E4200. Two other wireless computers were connected using CiscoConnect, one a Vista and the other a Win 7, and all was fine. All computers were able to see each others' file. Also managed to get a wireless Canon printer working even though CiscoConnect wasn't able to find it.
After I realized I didn't run CiscoConnect on the XP, I did so using the USB key created on the Win7 box and the result was that the XP box doesn't see any of the other computers although all the other computers can see the XP files. After uninstalling CiscoConnect on the XP and rebooting, the XP can't access the other computer files but it can still access the internet and the wireless Canon printer that CiscoConnect can't find. Rebooting or powering off/on the router didn't change this state.
Would appreciate any ideas in getting the XP back into the network.

Update on above problem:
Performed a System Restore on the XP and partial networking functionality was restored. The XP box now sees the Vista and the XP Explorer can see all computers under the Workgroup. Probing the Win 7 computers from XP's explorer the XP returns the following: message

This message doesn't mean much to me as I have limited networking experience but somebody here might understand this clue.
