Messages not showing up in notification center

I've had a problem for a while where iMessages and text messages are not showing up in the pull-down notification center. I have everything enabled in Notification settings, numerous restarts, toggled settings on and off... Nothing works. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again, instead of restarting the device?
Is "Do not disturb" active?

  • Why are Facebook notifications not showing up in Notification Center?

On OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Facebook account is setup in Internet Accounts preference pane in System Preferences.
Facebook is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
The Share Buttons widget is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
When I view my Facebook account via my web browser I usually have notifications available, but these notifications are not showing up in Notification Center.
I do receive Calendar, Mail, etc. notifications in Notification Center so I know it works.
I can send posts to Facebook via the Share Buttons widget in Notification Center, but presently I can receive nothing from Facebook..
Anyone know of a solution to this problem?
    Thanks!
P.S. I read in another thread how Facebook can be setup in iMessage, but I don't want to use iMessage if I can get Notification Center to function properly.

I got it to work yesterday. I tried none of the advice from discussions dealing with changing settings, enabling/disabling accounts, terminal commands, etc. All I did was ask a Facebook friend to respond to a post, and I was able to see the notifications in Notification Center.
I know most have their settings configured correctly in System Preferences, but this is how my preferences are configured on OS X Mavericks 10.9.3:
    (1) Internet Accounts preference pane:
There isn't much to configure here. I signed into my Facebook account. I checked or unchecked the Calendar and Contacts selections. It doesn't matter. I left the Description, found in the Details button window, as Facebook, but it doesn't matter, either.
    (2) Notifications preference pane:
Facebook alert style is set to Banners, but Alerts will also work just fine. This setting is crucial because if it's set to None, no alerts will be received. I left Show notifications on lock screen unchecked, but it doesn't matter if I check it or not. And I put a check mark in Show in Notification Center, and the number of Recent Items can be set to whatever available setting desired, mine is set to 20 Recent Items.
    (3) Notifications preference pane:
I placed a check mark on Show share button notifications in Notification Center, which is found when Share Button is selected in the list of notifications like Facebook, Calendar, Mail etc.
Again, I did nothing else, and it just works. As a side note: before I got it to work I called AppleCare and a senior advisor spent considerable time with me trying to find out why it wasn't working. And his last bit of advice was that I should reinstall the OS. He needs retraining because that bit of advice was ill-advised, to say the least.
I simply had no experience with receiving Facebook notifications in Notification Center 'on OS X', and the AppleCare employees had no training in this area, but if Notification Center is part of OS X, and Facebook notifications are part of Notification Center training in this area should be standard, but the AppleCare employees were guessing, not advising, which certainly is not technical support. Hence, my AppleCare dollars were not at work as expected.
So without prior knowledge as to how the specifics of 'Facebook' notifications worked in Notification Center on OS X, my assumption was I would be notified each time someone tagged me, someone liked a comment, post or photo of mine, someone commented on one of my posts, or someone sent me a direct message.
When I asked one of my Facebook friends to help me test it out, the following occurred (I don't remember if I had Safari up and running at this time - Note: I was signed into Facebook via Safari. I say this because AppleCare employees did explain on OS X some applications must be launched in order to received notifications, which in my mind is wasted time and code for Apple developers. Why offer notifications if the application is already launched? Ridiculous, if you ask me. That's what configuring each applications preference to set badge app icons, if it's not already coded by default.):
    (1) I sent a Facebook post via Notification Center using the Facebook Share Button.
    (2) I communicated with one of my Facebook friends by private message via iOS device and asked for a response to the post I sent.
    (3) My Facebook friend responded to my private message, but I don't remember if I received a notification in Notification Center.
    (4) My Facebook friend liked my post, shared my post, and commented on my post. I received two separate notifications in Notification Center on OS X, yet I received notifications on Facebook for all three actions, seen via iOS device. By the way, I wish Notification Center notifications would stay in Notification Center until we manually remove them. If they did stay until we manually remove them I would have time to find out which action of my friend I was received the notification for in Notification Center.
    That's it!

  • Mail notification not showing up in "Notification Center"

I have few emails configured with Mail but when a new mail arrives it does not show up in the notification center.
The notification center settings for "Mail" is set up as Alerts correctly.
Should I make the "Mail" to start automatically after login??

I am having the exact same problem. I've had a bit of issues setting up my Exchange account and get iCal to work properly, so ended up deleting my Exchange account and setting it up again. Before, emails showed in Notifications, now they don't, even when Mail's up and running. I've got my computer set up to show the last 10 items. I would appreciate any help anyone could proivde.
    Thanks

  • Reminders not showing up in Notification Center (iOS7)

Having an issue wherein my Reminders are not showing up in the Notification Center.  Reminders are syncing just fine between my Mac and iOS apps, but, for some strange reason, they are not making it over into NC.  I have no problems with Calendar Events, Weather and Stock info showing up here, only Reminders (and, yes, I do have Reminders turned on in Settings>Notification Center).  Anyone else having this problem?

I am having a similar problem with reminders. If I add an event on the phone it will show up in Reminders, but events that are on my MBP are not showing up in Reminders on the phone but are showing up in iCloud when i log on to the website. Very strange since they were all working fine before today.

  • Weather not showing up in notification center

    Hi All,
I had iOS 4 installed and updated to iOS 5.
I then loaded my backup on so I could get my contacts, apps, messages etc.
My problem is that I don't see the weather and stock widgets showing up ony m lock screen as claimed they should.
Settings are set to have them visible.
I was google around and some people suggest this is because I did a restore.
Any thoughts on this? I dont want to set up new phone and have to add in my contacts and all my setting from fresh. That is a terrible user experiance.

Are you sure they are added to your nofication center?  Check your Settings > Notifications, and then make sure Weather and Stocks are added to the "in the notification center" area.

  • Missed notifications not showing up in notification center

Just wondering how long notifications stay in the notification center?  For example, I saw a notification on my lock screen last night to approve a purchase for my DD through Family Share.  I thought I would deal with it in the morning, but it's not in my notification center and I have no idea where to find it.  Currently my notification center is empty.  Thank you!

  • Calendar events not showing up in Notification Center

Hi, somehow my calendar events don´t shop up in the notification center. My standard calendar is googlemail synced via ical, but the problem is the same even when I create events in the native mac calendar/icloud. Already tried repairing permissions several times as well as creating a new UUID as proposed as a solution if widgets are missing in notification center. Like a lot others also stated, the preferences of the notification center reset after every reboot... Any help? Thanks, Philipp

    Hi,
    Same problem.
    Thx

  • Why is weather not showing up in Notification Center on iPhone 4s?

My iphone has all the correct settings on to see the weather for the day in the notification center but it refuses to be there.  Someone please help?

    Hello ariana077,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
iOS 7 changed the way todays weather is displayed in the notifiaction center.
Rather than an icon, it is text just underneath the Date.

  • I restored the iPhone 5 out of a backup and now missed calls are not showed in the notification center

When I restore the iPhone as a new one, then it works. So the backup is senseless otherwise you're not able to see your missed calls in the NC.

In the forum I found that switching notification off and back on helped.
Worth a try, I would think.

  • Weather not showing up in notification center if iOS 6

Does anyone know how to add it?

From what I gather the "weather" is now located on the TODAY tab under the date but it is a text, eg:
"Mostly cloudy currently. It is 81, the high today was 90."
if you click on the text, it will link to the weather app. Because of this, there is no Weather app in notification settings. I believe Weather is always on by default.
I haven't had a lot of time to tinker with iOS 7 yet. MAybe some onlese can pitch in.

  • Facebook and twitter are not showing up in Notification Center - Mac OSX 10.8.1

I see a lot of reviews with Facebook and Twitter options on the notification panel, but I can't seem to get the buttons added.
Anybody else having this problem or know how to fix it??

Yes this is what it means.
    re: Twitter
Configure at least one Twitter account via System Preferences -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars -> Add Account -> Twitter.

  • Why are Messages not showing up in the NC while locked

    iPhone 4s on iOS 7
-I am not able to get my messages to show in the notification center while the phone is locked.
~I tried to reset my settings and that helped, but now that I turned my phone off, messages aren't showing in the NC while the phone is locked.  I have alerts turned off, currently.  The way I have my notifications set up for messages, worked prior to me turning my phone off.
-I have all my settings correct and I have my DND scheduled to off.
-I have my notifications set so that my messages won't show on the Lockscreen and only set to show in the notification center<< Yes that format actually  works. But the times I hard reset my phone or turn it off, it all sotps working
-My OS is updated to the current one out there.
    Thanks in advance

BSB-Fan, I think I might have found a solution to your problem. Simply follow the steps listed below.
Step One - Go to the homescreen and launch the Settings application.
Step Two - Go into the General section of the Settings app.
Step Three - Scroll down to the bottom of the General section of the Settings app. You should see a subsection that is labeled "Reset". Tap this.
Step Four - In the Reset subsection of the General section of the Settings app, you should see a button that says "Reset All Settings". Tap this, and then confirm that you would like to do this on the popup.
Step Five - After the phone has restarted, unlock the phone and return to the homescreen. Launch the Settings app again.
Step Six - In the Settings application, you should see a button that says "Notifications". Tap the Notifications button.
Step Seven - Once you're in the Notifications section of the Settings app, scroll down until you see a button with the Messages app icon and a lable that says "Messages." Tap it.
Step Eight - Make sure that the Show In Lockscreen is in the off position if you would not like your messages to show up on the lock screen, but only within Notification Center on the lockscreen. Make sure that the Notification settings for Messages are correct.
Now your Messages should show up in Notification Center on the lockscreen.
I hope I helped. If you have any other issues or concerns, feel free to reply.
    Sincerely,
    Austin

I think that in general, the Alerts do not show if the program is in the foreground and is active.  Try putting Twitter behind another program and see what happens.
